Helldivers 2 isn't a great game tbh, it gets boring after a few hours. And you'll come to find out that its extremely repetetive, and that the team mates are probably as (or worse) frustrating as the ones on Dark&Darker.

I mean, its a niche game. Most people dislike looters in general, unless its in a pve setting (something like borderlands). But as soon as PVP is introduced, you'll see a small amount of people flocking towards your game.

Especially in this medieval style, where we have mages and super powers basically.

I'd say having a 1000 people playing this game at any given time, could be considered an achievement as its not a "AAA Studio" that made the game.

I've played dungeonborne, and I've seen how the game got ruined. But with that game it was mainly the character patches that did it, they made druids insanly overpowered, rogue's couldn't be followed or stopped really.

Over here, they're atleast trying to fix some issue's and all they're doing is disabling 2 game modes. There's loads of games that rotate on available gamemodes, so lets hope they'll not be bringing it back in a rotation like style.

Which also tends to get boring quite quickly. I can't recommend Helldivers2 as a game that you'd main, but as something you'd play besides your "main game".

Ironmace do not give quick answers on balance. This last major balance patch they increased the problems with druid while nerfing damage, making them even more toxic to mage counterplay.

All while buffing barbarian so hard that it's now completely dominant in all game modes.

Nobody asked for any of that. They asked druid's maneuverability to be nerfed. And barb was fine.

Not really, since here we have wipes, we have a bank that we can grow, and don't forget about the different characters to play.

With Helldivers you'll end up finishing season passes, and then its brainless shooting into giant masses of either robots, aliens, or bugs. The maps and objectives might differ, but the general take is this: Spawn, run towards objective, defend said objective for x amount fo time, shoot everything that comes towards the objective.

Repeat that constantly, and you got the helldiver loop. Its the only loop it has going for it.

You don't have a bank you can grow, it gets wiped. Just like you said. Every bit of progress you make in HD2 is permanent. This game suffers from the same things you don't like about helldivers. The dungeon is the same. The mobs are in the exact same locations. There is nothing new about the gameplay loop for dark and darker in the last year.

Any given helldivers mission has, at the minimum, the same amount of diversity as any given dungeon run. You are constantly playing on different maps, enemies change and evolve as the war continues. The only thing that's changed about pvp since this game launched are a couple of numbers.

After around 1200 hours in helldivers 2, and I run nothing but T9-10, I can swear to you that the game itself is more predictable then Dark&Darker. Atleast in Dark&Darker you got some pvp that might throw you into a random situation that requires some quick thinking and problem solving. That rarely to never happens in HD2 if you've played it for a bit.

There's always a Meta strat, usually there's not multiple that are equally good, especially in pvp scenario's. It might however be so that people have a certain preference, but I'd be scared of a team with a sorcerer, barb, and a cleric and druid.

So to complete a mission you only have to complete the main objective. You can lose all reinforcements and not even extract and you will still get baseline rewards and get to continue your operation. Throughout the map are secondary objectives that you can ignore if you'd like, but will increase your rewards if you complete them. There are also "samples" scattered throughout the map at points of interest that you collect to permanently upgrade your ship. You have to extract with the samples to receive them though. They also let you find the premium currency in-game, allowing players to acquire the various "warbonds" through gameplay alone. The warbonds are new guns, armors, strategems, capes, ect., and they are all thematic. The difficulty of the mission will determine how many medals you are awarded to unlock the items in the various warbonds. Sorry for the book, but that's the gist. Also @delicate surge I run t10 just fine, I've been skewering the squids with my Super Earth flag and having a ball.

While the thematic and functional darkness may have fit the game's name, the team has unanimously decided that, since one rogue jumped out of a shadow and scawed sdf, it's time for it to go the way of the dodo. All shadows have been removed, and the rogue's "hide" ability has recieved significant balance changes, for the better. Now boasting a 1.3s channeling time, and then 2 seconds of unrestricted invisibility, with partial visibility when struck by light.

For a test server to work tho, you need people to play on it. And from what I've noticed in here is that people are very likely to only play this game in a one certain way, and they do not want to change it up in the slightest.

Kinda rough that they resorted to this, but it is what it is. And if people quit playing, the game dies. If they keep playing, they'll get the data they need and might change it up in a way that people will like or prefer.

I'm all for people voicing opinions, but I do think that complaining on discord isn't the way to go. I'd say, start a online petition that you could share amongst players to gather opinions and data. If you could provide them with decent feedback instead of rants about whats bad, they might actually put in some effort into reading it.

They’ve gone back to balancing around trios recently. For a great while they tried to balance between all game modes at all levels of gameplay.

With the introduction of arena they have started going more towards trio balance.

The issue is that when solo/duos aren’t balanced and are easily cheesed, it has poor reflection on the games economy and the overall new player experience.

New player gets game, goes to solos, get rolled. Doesn’t buy. But TRIOS is where they shoulda went.
How tf are they supposed to know that?

To be more exact, the doomers who are calling for review bombs and being horribly glum about the future state.

What's the point of blue and green gear now? No point in running it in HR as you will be one shot by a 7 true damage 170HP rogue with full bis. Even finding purple gear is shit now as you need to gem 3, 4 times for it to be even playable. HR needs at least 2 queues otherwise there's no incentive at all to queue. Right now the game is play with dog water squire gear and two randoms who are still trying to figure out how to open doors or go into HR facing full unique gear...

Been playing OSRS since 2004, played it up to 2011. Then they released OSRS in 2014, and picked it back up again. I was a vivid wildy enjoyer, I still enjoy PK'ing on OSRS, and it gives the same satisfaction that D&D does IMO.

But we can't ignore the fact that OSRS first had to mess up the wildy, to then have it return stronger then ever. It might've taken them numerous years to do so, and the same could be for this game.

Allow the dev team to make mistakes, and learn from them. In the end I think we all want the same thing, and that is for this game to improve and grow a bigger player base. What wouldn't help is review bombing the game itself. Or ranting in discord about quitting because of their decisions.

I genuinely think that starting a petition, or a poll, that can show them numbers would be best. Since they want data, we could pretty much gather opinion based data trough a poll/petition.

So let me give you my experience from Delta force, pvp extraction shooter that is TRIO only. I was top .5% on the leaderboards. To que into a game, I would be forced to LFG for teammates of similar skill, or else I would be at a massive disadvantage, similar to CSGO. They are going to create the same dynamic in D&D. That is how team based pvp games go.

I mean, EOC has been the blueprint for alot of the current OSRS designs. I mean, Chambers of Xeric, Theater of blood, Tombs of Amascut, its all based on dungeoneering which was released in EOC.

So I'm not saying it was a good decision, but it was a good mistake that they've been able to learn from. That in itself is quite valuable.

Also, on OSRS there's a community based voting system where which 85% of the community that votes has to vote yes before it passes a poll. That wasn't a thing on EOC, but it is a thing in the current OSRS.

Not the best comparison, considering that EA is pretty much just a building plan, not an actual house for comparison.

Early Access is compareable to the land you're building on, you might have a plan for what you want build on it, but when you're building you can run into issue's. Sometimes issue's are easily resolved, like filling up some holes with dirt to even it out for your foundation. It could also be so that there's some sort of treasure hidden in that land, that suddenly makes it so you're not allowed to build on it at all anymore because of historical value, then what do you do?

Easier said than done though. More people watch for games, than the person it seems. Some of my favourite DaD streamers have been streaming other games for a little while now, so I'm glad for that. But overall, if they make this their career it's incredibly finicky, especially in a game like this/Tarkov where from launch we've all know the main guy in charge is a bit of a fruitcake.

Ah yea i see ur point, idk the modifiers are okay its just hard to balance around movement speed meta i think, i think that builds should be a trade off, so 330 movement speed builds shouldnt be able to build other op stats for example, but i dont know if thats a clear cut soltuion

Movespeed is the single biggest problem to balance in any game that includes hand to hand vs range pvp.

Its clear that just Normals and HR isn't cutting it. I do think the point of High Roller is that its the Labs run of Dark and Darker, but new players also need a place to actually learn the game and not get stomped by Rogues in BiS gear

My suggestion is Add HR1 back, but make the loot identical to HR2. The only benefit from going into HR2 is the chance for artifact boss drops. So when you go HR2, your looking for bossing, or pvp. Not going in to loot.

I still think the HR pve should be toned down a touch then made the default enemies in Adventure mode. It's stupid have the easiest versions in the easiest game mode. You want timmies to play HR more, at least give them some training.

Movement speed would still be an issue but much less of an issue if ranged attacks became less accurate depending on movement similar to CS.

If implemented, movespeed would still allow you to be evasive in melee but reduce the annoying kite and shoot gameplay.

Make a solo-Story for the people to understand / learn the game / collect first gear.

Then put all loadout gear the same, so everyone starts with base gear just like in Fortnite etc.
