Try to keep your movement speed high, especially if you're playing in solos. If you encounter another player you want to keep them spaced so they can't force you to commit, since your curses heal you you have a really strong short range poke.
Be wary of rangers especially in large rooms since they can pretty easily out range you. Focus on true magic damage for your rings/necklace if you find it. Spellbooks are still the bast casting implement when casting.
When casting at a player chasing you make sure you look away while casting the spell then spin and hit them with it, you move slower while moving backwards.
I mean, the kind of advice you can benefit from really depends on your current skill level.

Cyclops and troll are the easiest. You're going to have to throw yourself at them a bunch of times to learn the patterns. You can watch guides online and they'll show you the attacks/how to dodge them. It takes some practice to actually put that into practice though.

Warlock can teach you some bad habits like "It's okay to face tank mobs." Fighter will beat that out of you pretty quickly while still teaching you to use the longsword.

Warlocks self heals mean you can avoid picking up certain skills and still be alright. Ultimately though play what you'll have fun with, you'll learn more by spending more time in the dungeon and you'll spend more time in the dungeon when you're having fun with your class.

Last patch totally changed up the meta particularly for barbs. Anything from more than a few days ago isn't necessarily applicable. Everyone else has been reasonably consistent though. The season started about a month ago, you're fairly early into it.

Yeah, the "Explore this tile" quests need to be reworked. They work in a static map like EFT but they don't work very well in randomly generated maps like DaD uses.

Casters are always gonna be a problem for barb and jump rouge is fine if you got cap movement like I see most barbs cause they just hit the rouge with the slows he’s got on everything and just one to two shot them

If you’ve got the money things with movement max hp and action speed. Not everyone will agree with me on what to actually wear I personally run the visored helm, the light aketon, either cloth pants or loose trousers( trousers will
Make you faster if you need it) the buckled boots and honestly you can have your pick of gloves I typically just go for the riveted for the strength if you’re gonna have good action speed

As for the rings either finesse or courage I typically go courage again for the strength and the necklace is either the frost or peace I typically go frost of the damage cause my armor have the hp I need

Of course and if you can manage it the rings should have true phys on them. Something like movement action speed and true phys is crazy good rn and super expensive if you wanna drop something though I’d recommend the true phys it does make a difference sure but if you’ve got the action speed and strength you’ll still be hitting really hard
