We have never had an offline mode on DnD. And it would literally be an option to just run a map either solo or with your team and explore/learn without the cost of losing your kit. Map would legit run the same as normal just no other players to be seen. Also don’t care if it brings in a million players. Offline mode? Seems like skill issue to me… just get good at the game. Run 24 gear score and repeat till you don’t insta die to any other player. It takes practice but you will eventually be able to beat other players

When is wipe coming? When is next patch coming? This changes SDF made according to “his” vision of the game, are killing it, game lost 20% of its population in a matter of weeks since random gobo and ruins patch came out. I cannot believe he is willing to kill a game just because he wants to do what he wants…… game is at around 4k players, didn’t want to believe it but steam charts don’t lie. Game is the lower it’s ever been, even before steam release it has arround 8k players. There is no next big platform release or another “make it free to play” to pull in more players. SDF had his chances and he has burned through them all. I loved this game, pains me to think is finally coming to an end.

Imo they made two mistake this wipe. First they didn't test and improve Fow and Randomized dungeon enough before pushing it on every map. yeah thats true, but the devs make too many mistakes. it is mistake after mistake, season after season. also maybe im the only one here, but i mainly play solos and 90% of my deaths are to druids, anyone else got that issue? druid can full heal in seconds, reengage and exit fights when ever they want, 2 tap you with panther if you dont have pdr, they defy move speed cap, can delete their hitbox mid fight. I can go on but my point is shit like this will kill the game and its been in the game for way too long, so i dont think the devs give a shit

I get you, but if you were here during the first couple season you’d get what I mean. Everyone was on a level playing field and could learn shit at the same pace, it was super fun. It won’t ever be like that again, even with good devs, but having pve only lobby will lead to pve only players so all pvp will eventually die. There should be pve lobbies for lvl <20 players and then they gotta learn pvp. Which arena is good for, but there should be squire gear arena for new players

Plate fighter against magic class, or barb against magic class or most other classes, or Druid against almost everyone, or cutthroat rogues against any casters, or rangers in open room against any class (with traps). I know, but I don't think so. Imo they just need to add better way to find people to play with, things like that. And I think it also have to come from people to try finding mate to play with. Like for the Dungeon I usually play trio with friend but for Arena sometime I play solo with random. Almost every session after 3-4 game I end up having people sending me group invite and I end up my session playing with cool people.
Be kind to people, give them a chance and you'll easily make a friend list of people to play with, it's not that hard.

I've come to dark and darker after csgo. I was global elite and I have a community for 250-300 ppl all global elite to play with. I have a lot of people to play dark and darker with. the issue isnt finding people to play with. the issue is the accessibility of the game for people that have time consuming jobs and little time to play. casual players is a large part of what keeps counterstrike alive. I think that instead of any updates to find players (which you can do through the DnD discord pretty easily) it would be best to add a ranking system. So demigods wont be mathed with pathfinders or below and you can random match with other demigods etc. that way new players can get used to the game if its solos or duos or trios without getting overwhelmed by timmie bullies

Couldn't agree more,the issues is they tried that at some point. Then the game became "Who have the best gear in this lobby", everyone with the same skill resulted in gear being what make the difference and that's not fun either for people who don't have too much time to play. But Gearscore isn't a perfect solution, the best would be a combo of both but that require a solid playerbase which we don't have (it could have been done after steam release but they didn't try it). I don't know what to do to make the new player experience better with the game in this state, but I do think that making the game better, with more point of interest, improved Fow, randomized dungeon etc would help with player retention and in the end allow to have matchmaking system friendly to everyone

Update 69 made it so that squire gear was able to kill someone in full legendaries or uniques, so skill beat gear, but gear gave you a slight advantage. However he made that change halfway through a season when everyone had already spent hours gathering their gear and then suddenly it was useless so everyone was pissed. He then 180’d on the decisions and never revisited it. With a ranked system based on k/d or AP rank or hours played is added and gear isn’t a determining factor to whether someone wins a fight or not this game has a huge chance of being amazing, but I don’t think the devs will do that

Maybe, I think their is other to get to that without making gear dull and losing the looting aspect like hotfix 69 did. The increase of loot rate and Goldsmith are a good move in this way, more craft with more simple item, new point of interest less contested with good reward, some crafting material (like a fish pond for exemple allowing you to craft new potion or things like that) could allow people to have more tool, easier access to good gear and have more fair fight while keeping PvE/adventure aspect and a dungeon crawler aspect

This new blacked out randomized map... is terrrible. It makes it pretty much to only pvp, and thats not the only fun part of the game. I hate that i cant like explore to a boss that im learnign to kill, or go mine on a fun mission to get gold ore, and even if they are set on the map being randomized the play time has to be different. Its not enough time to even properly explore the map with it being random and blacked out. shouldnt be this way on goblin caves frost or ruins, maybe depths beneath the map fine. cool but not all of them. In this stat I agree, but with the right improvement it could be really good and go in the path of this feeling of exploration you talk about. For exemple you should get the map of people you kill, maybe increase the discovery range or link it to a stat, like Ressourcefulness or Memory capacity, and most importantly I think it need a special item that you can only found in the dungeon. Like the scrap of a map or a compass who show an exit and the boss room on your map for exemple. You could drop them with a high drop rate on the Skeleton corpse you find on the ground pretty much everywhere (like it's an adventurer who start drawing a map and died) or with a lower drop rate on regular Skeleton monster. I get that it's unique and attract people who want something casual, but it's not what the game sell, and it always been clearly said. I'm not against making move in the direction of casual player but with limit. The game need people to invest time in it, and thx to the wipe they can do that on a very long period of time, some people spend 100h on the game in a month because they want to be strong in this wipe, but nothing stop someone more casual to spend those 100h on 2 wipe to learn the game and focus on the next wipe.

Imagine being a new player, youd never get any quests done lol, and youd never get to really learn to kill any bosses, or learn the game, sure you can find a tutorial on youtube somewehre but to practice would almost never happen, and even if you do end up finding a boss room you have to hope you have enough time to kill it, AND find an exit. Ive loaded into games where i had to just run around to find an extraction point then try and explore. its just miserable, and im not saying players should just let you walk past them, but maybe you're not there for the 1v1 in solos people respect this more often than not and let you go, not now you its load in prep to fight and just be lucky to live and get out with anything valuable.

That's where I don't follow people having those kind of argument. If you'r a new player, you shouldn't be trying to find and fight boss, that's end game content. If you have the skill for that, then moving in the dungeon and finding exit shouldn't be that big of a deal. And with the suggestion I made, finding exit and point of interest like boss would be easier. Sprint is still the best move speed ability in the game. Breakthrough if you'r not fast it'll not allow you to catch up on faster player. The Breakthrough + Adrenaline rush combo can be used as a sort of sprint

Yeah but again I think the gear brings the game down a bit in a way that it’s not accessible for casual players and this will kill the game over time. I like the gear and PvP side of things apart from some of the broken builds of course, but for a large percent of the player base they don’t enjoy it and this game will only survive if a lot of people play it. I think next season they should try removing gear completely and replacing gear with cosmetic blueprints throughout the dungeon, the rarest being accessible from killing bosses. That would make the game very popular

I think you still can do that. Just have to use a class that can go through the map faster. e.g. barb to bash through the doors
It does help reduce third partying in fights as everyone else has to figure their way around the map

i dont particularly like the rotations on the map being RNG based, considering you dont know what the next room will be until you peep thru the door. i guess i feel like third partying is just a fact of games like this and you cant limit it too hard without having players go "why are all my lobbies empty" which is something Ive seen in chat a lot recently

I think there is a huge frustration regarding third parties since hard earned gear is on the line generally. Losing a fair fight doesn't feel quite third same as being jumped by others camping popular high traffic areas.

The best class for a new player to start on is the Fighter class, it is simple, effective, can be built in a variety of different ways, and can have a very high skill ceiling with weapons like halberd, longsword, and lantern shield.

It is nearly the end of the current wipe (april 10th,) which means any in game progress you make with levels ands quests, as well as anything in your stash will be wiped back to the start, but there's really no better time to start learning the ropes and engaging with the community through the LFG channel than whenever you decide to! This game is addictive, fun, and rewarding to get good at, once you're past that initial learning curve. So don't be discouraged by making mistakes or dying a lot, and try to learn from each raid, escape or otherwise!

That makes the queue long because it is looking for ppl to fill your team. Ok Here we go. This game is dead. Lobbies are completely EMPTY. Also the new HR mechanic is GARBAGE. I just went through an entire inferno map down to the last circle and no portals spawned. So I died. All gear gone, and for what? The gear in HR Inferno from chests and mobs is complete shit now!!! I can't even fill my inventory with gear to leave with. They just keep destroying the core mechanics of the game because they have no bandwidth from being sued.

There is like no character I want to play. If I try to PVP and go goblin caves, only like 3 people in the lobby and they are all cheaters or hyper geared chads. If I want to PVE the inferno stuff is completely useless now with the gear being junk and it constantly forcing you to run and run and run and not loot anything because of the circle....

If they don't revert back the shadow nerf to gear drops in inferno, there isn't much point to HR ruins. Honestly i killed maybe 50 mobs and 30 chests and I had a few blue collectibles and 1 shitty item. It is dramactic the change that happened

I loved the random portals concept back then, and am glad they brought it back. But FOW fixed with it is kind of stupid. But back then, this game was something else. Like you said it was fun, and fair mostly. With barbs you just had to play smart and not push in haha. Now we got a spell caster that can not only shoot small fireballs, a volcano, thunderstorms, and 20 other different spells + combinations, but we also got a class that can close a gap within seconds (druid) games busted. Unless they release these other unreleased classes and they be actually good, this is chalked

Entire cleric kit is about healing . If your teammate has full hp you can cast other buffs it's this simple.
No more buff ball where either you have warlock with spell Predation or you lose. More skill expression for cleric is good.

well healing is good but not everything, getting healed quickly is good mid combat but you will run our of spells, most players play solo and you have 5 lesser heals and with one of the skills giving you 5more hp for heal and other stuff you can get healed 20hp if you don't count the other stuff but even if you get fully healed enemy is almost 99% of the time faster so they can choose when to engage and when to retreat and heal so buffs helps a lot agents long term combat and helps to finish fights quickly

People crying about FoW just want to speedrun and farming the same route again and again, there's a lot of people playing this game on automatic. In my opinion FoW should be only in Goblins (maybe) and just because it's supossed to be a dungeon for new players gettin familiar with the game.
