Any1 else having an issue on Frost Mountain, specifically Ice Abyss layer. where you can't swap to anything else other than what was in your hand when the game bugs you? I've had it stick me on my hands while chasing a player (couldn't swap to my tools or weapons) then it stuck me while I was fighting Frost Wyvern with my weapons out (couldn't swap to empty hand or to my meds, which is very annoying when you are say, in a boss fight).

You just run Achilles and iron will, you beat every ranged or kiting class. You bring rage and you're faster than anyone. You bring savage and you out trade anyone. So many builds and counters to other builds built into the class, without the need for a single piece of gear. Bring an inventory of frannies and I guarantee a good barb can beat anyone. I say this as someone who has played since playtest 1 - This game was great, it had tons of potential. Then SDF began bringing in classes that were nowhere nearly balanced and made massive sweeping changes to destroy the enjoyment and fun factor it once had. Talk about digging a big hole. Sad but true, my enjoyment is no longer near what it once was. There are some smart ideas (like be able able to make it to hell without having to spend 25 minutes) but the whole hidden/random hell map, imbalanced classes and buffing of already strong classes is just too much for logic to bear. RIP D&D 2025.

If you are free to play then you can only bring up to 124 gs. To go in with more gear score, you need to go to highroller, which is both more dangerous and requires you to have the paid version of the game "legendary" edition

was just thinking about it and i think for the majority of the players, this "Instead of serving as stepping stones for newer players, the lower gear score divisions have become killing grounds with bloodthirsty players having little to lose" may not be the case. Seems like there's a massive skill gap in the game and for those still trying to bridge the gap, no gear lobbies created a space to learn mechanic better without having to risk losing gear or worrying about the gear diff in the dungeon. Curious if other agree, cause I loved no gear lobbies and was not necessarily a new player. It was nice not to worry about gear diffs.

The thing is.. gear is so insanely easy to get to have a competitive kit. Its not really risking much for a 124 set and its easy to build 3-4 of them in one decent run. Not to mention gems on green/blue items are easy as hell to get a ton of and make everything BIS.

@woeful sinew it is easier tahn ever to get money. Spawn into ruins, camp a blue portal and rat, clear the module and loot everything, and at any sign of danger leave. Rince repeat. Easy money -> easy to geear. furthermore, with that game loop its easier than ever to farm wolf pelts from ice caverns, 1000 gold per pelt. @chilly bear I think its harsher for new players, yes. However the dev team is trying out timmy/noob queues, so the new players should in theory not encounter geared players in their first matchs. For the people that already play a lot, I think its a good change. You can go in geared or not (zero to hero is still a thing). You can kill under-geared players when ur 124 kit. You can also out skill a geared player while you have squire kit. Low risk high reward.

Today is way worse than usual because of the LUHK permadeath tournament. There are tons of streamers in 124s atm competing for US$3500. I've been fighting them all day and only won once, it happens. That said, I haven't seen an actual minmaxer all day. One yesterday.

AS the devs say, it was only temporay to avoid having noobs getting bodies by geared teams, but now portals open earlier, so its easier to survive, meaning the originial goal of <25 lobby is out-dated. The benifit of removing the <25 (and 125-224) lobbies is reduced number of queues

@seeks I am saying he will hurt less. The take-away is he can't have speed, HP, and DPS. He has to drop one of them. Dropping HP means hes 1 to 2 tappable, dropping speed means you hit him once and run him down, and dropping DPS means he really isn't hurting you that much and isn't a threat

@seeks Suppose the rogue has 15 strenght (and hence 100% physical damage bonus). I forget the base damage of rondel, but suppose his dagger does 20 base damage. Now suppose the target has 30% PDR and 110 HP. That means each dagger attack will do 14 (20 - 20 * 30 %) damage, meaning it would take 8 dagger stabs to kill the target. Now with 7 true damage, the rogue would do 21 (14 + 7) damage per hit, which would mean 6 hits would be required. The true is making time-to-kill two weaopn attacks less. Its strong, but not crazy OP

However, new new players (those that aren't aware <25 was a thing) may be more happy with the current state of the game.I can't confirm or deny if this is true, but I think the devs are betting this change is ultimately better for the game, including for very new players that aren't disastisfied that the <25 lobbies was removed

Why does a blue spear have like 80 gear score? But all blue gear boot, pant, head, and shirt, equal that too? I have to pick either good gear or just a weapon, I have just been doing squire weapon and good armor.

..I had a system, usually squire gear or 24 gear(1 uncommon/rare), or 124 gear for the 25-124
and now I'm not too sure what to take..
Should I just spam squire gear and here and then build a 124 gear of rares ?

@woeful bluff I think its case the total potential random rolls you can get on a weapon total approximately what you would get from all the gear your mentioned (weapon get up to 3 phys power, like 8 % phys damage, huge armor pen, etc.). Not a perfect syste, not gona lie, but I think thats the idea
