Gear brackets allowed skill expression within gear constraints, without those constraints it means there is less skill expression and instead more gear based expression (aka spend gold for sub 125 bis). Hope this helps.

Well, fighter & barbarian seem to be running the show in solo. If you play anything outside of those classes you're not competitive (you can still succeed, but the fighter/barb just W key for easy wins). Bossing is congested and you're forced into fighting 3-5 people every time or you lose your chance to attempt the boss.

It's easy to extract, gear is plentiful, and pvp fights devolve into cat/mouse instead of any meaningful and enjoyable fights. You're either strong enough to take a fight or you just run. Most people will run as soon as they take any meaningful damage

Squire mode should be the only lobby. Why? Because everyone starts on the same playing field and you actually need to PLAY THE GAME to find gear and get strong. Explore and loot, then seek out fights. Every dungeon should progress to different levels and every time you go further down you know you're playing with people who have increasingly better gear.

Then add a seperate game mode (as in Arena) in which people can use their found gear to directly fight other players in a competitive environment.

Personally, I just want to go back to the old days when it was one lobby for everyone. didn't matter if you were solo, duo or trio or what gear you had; everyone was put int he same lobby. Matches were a real toss up and way more fun.
@turbid hill Yah, but they've drastically changed how the stats work on gear now. Back then if you were in greys it was near impossible to hurt anyone in purples because they had +2/3 all atts & + damage. Also, the base weapon damage is much closer now so a blue can actually compete with a purple.

Rookie servers are always a bad thing imo. People will learn how to play the game against other people who don't know how to play, and suddenly when their playtime hits a certain point, they're thrown to the wolves without ever learning how to play correctly. ( at least pvp wise) That's a great way to demoralize and kill your playerbase when they hit that wall immediately. If you need examples look at Spellbreak.

we hopped on today for some goblin grind and made it away with a pelt+2 turns at the gold, we both love the new update its way easier to keep the snowball rollling when you don't have to worry about if your gloves you found put you slightly over the limit for HR, and we just eat bosses for breakfest with squire loot
