Honestly I think the changes to barb were good and I'm not a barb player. I'd even be willing to commit to not play barbs for the entirety of the patch if they don't immediately nerf these changes. I think moral boost at 33% is a bit extreme but I'm willing to keep that. If barbarian should be nerf, it should be to his speed due to it being his listed disadvantage... Maybe outside of rage so he can't just be kited indefinitely. And by this I mean a lower default agi but a higher speed buff on rage. A while back, the barb was slow and depended on his team to make up for it. I thought that was a nice balance.

For those of you complaining that the you only see barbs in solos, maybe you'd see the other classes more if they were fun to play. Nerfing barb because he's fun isn't going to make the game better. Instead make the other classes fun to play too.

@wanton iron I bet they are buffing barb cause of unmirrored low barb winrate in area. That is, their buffing for high-tiers of play. The game was initially design for trios only and they are balancing for trios (balancing for solos would break the game, given the polarity of differences between classe). I am fine with that, since if you invest into this game and get a decent kit and play the meta, barbs are trash and still will be trash with this patch. Otherwise, balancing for low-level no gear would break the game when high-tier gear is involved, and that's just kinda ackward, since the end-game of this game is to gather loot and make a kit. Just build a kit using wizard, sorcer, ranger or warlock and barb should longer be busted IMO (just infinite kite them). @thin gull you gotta wait for the half hour merchant update to give you the new craftables (if u got 150 affinity at 5:31 pm, u gotta wait till 6:00 pm to unlock)

I main a Rogue - easily the most OP class of them all, definitely doesn't get 1 tapped or needs to stab a barb 16 times to kill them. So as a rogue I can confirm I am so happy that Barbarians have all these buffs. They are now nearly half of how good the other classes are, and definitely hatchet barbs needs to be able to 1 shot rogues, it's only fair!

It's also something that needs to be recharged using a campfire AND you need to hit your target with it unlike secondwind. It also becomes much weaker if you don't have the action speed to make the most out of it. And since it requires you to be hitting your target, your enemy can counter you by dodging or blocking, or shut you down by applying some healing penalty to you. Second wind you can just pop it and there's no need to worry about needing to hit your opponent.

@spare crag You have to be extremely careful of nerfing popular abilities while buffing popular ones. Otherwise you don't know if players switch their builds due to one or the other. You also can't compare Morale with blood exchange or achillies blow since morale boost is a perk and the other two are skills. You still want to try out the newly buffed ones even if you do so in the lowest bracket and even if you don't change your build going forward. You need to truly get a feel for your options. Also the goal isn't to replace one set of meta options with another, but rather create several options that can compete for each other.

@kind thistle Wizard still needs some love. There's a difference between him and sorcerers but I still feel bad for him because many of the sorcerer spells feel fun to use, not so much with the wizard spells. Many wizard spells are viable but they don't feel as good to use as the sorcerer's. If wizard is in a good place for his damaging spells I'd rather look at buffing his utility spells. Especially the utility spells that were previously thought to be too good, Invisibility and haste, I feel like they were over nerfed. Invisiblity could be returned to what it was if they added some sort of true seeing mechanic to counter it, where as haste felt good to use on team mates, now it no longer does. And while un-counterable buff balls were bad, buff balls that have ways to counter and mitigate them would be good for the game. Also Magic lock feels pretty useless now and it could be a popular spell to help keep a team safe while bossing, which is one thing people have complained about lately.

None of the buffs they gave to barb would make him stronger against wizards. They nerfed his Iron will in the patch before this too. Barb is supposed to be the melee class that has an easier time against wizards.
@hallow birch You haven't thought this through if you think they're morons for the buffs they gave to barb. None of what they buffed was used all that much before. So if players want to benefit from the buffs they would need to give up on some of what made the barb OP in the first place. If you and the rest of the people need to be explained why barb getting buffs is a good thing, you don't have the capacity to understand the finer points of why it was so, so let's not waste our collective time.

I'm a longsword fighter main and I am going to only play barb and barber after this patch.

I will only use hatchet and I will abuse the desync they don't bother to fix ("not a priority").
I will spawn my hatchet in your head so you cannot parry or block.
I will purposefully try ruin other player's enjoyment of this game to show how ridiculous this decision was, and every one of you should as well.
I would prefer to play longsword fighter and depend on my skill/reflexes but instead now I can hold W and easily kill anyone with Barb, because an already S tier class was buffed for no reason.

This update is the second most tone deaf, ignorant-of-meta decision behind #69. Not to mention they released this update in this middle of the weekend for their largest player base when people can actually play.

It is clear from this new patch that the Devs no longer play the game more than a couple of hours a week. Otherwise why would the last 6 months worth of updates be so bad?
Barbarians are now ridiculous. If you have 50% buff duration you can not only have an extremely strong hippo build with potions but you also get 18 seconds of Blood Exchange. A Barbarian can kill a trio due to healing large quantities of health. On top of this they also have boosted Morale Boost so that you can further ensure having max health. Barbarians didn't need these buffs, they only needed some fine tuning with their damage to put them into a state where the game is more balanced.

Clerics judgement casting speed was never the issue in duo's or trio's and now it means that cleric solo's are forced into two mode of fighting, smite and spell or smite and divine protection. It was not a needed nerf for solo clerics and there are better ways they could've balanced this. The buffs... The buffs absolutely weren't needed and they were put in place for a good reason. Hello earthquake/locust swarm combo. Hello famine/sanctuary combo.

Sorcerer absolutely needed the lightning bolt not going through walls, but the damage reduction while increasing the power of no movement sorcerer is not intelligent. Your change essentially boils down to removing how players are playing and enjoying sorcerer while trying to force them to play it the way you want them to. You should've leaned into how players are using them while fixing issues but also opening up new ways to play them, give more options instead of taking away options is always a better game design when it doesn't impinge on balance.

Overall I'd rate these changes a 3/10. They fixed some issues that needed fixing while not touching on more ground breaking issues such as hitboxes and hit registration issues. Majority of the class changes were bad in that they took away from balancing majorly and made certain options for playing classes too weak.

I would love to experience the randomly generated crypts but every time I go in I'm left with 7 or 6 minutes or there's a barbarian 2 doors down rushing straight for me.
