guys how are you dealing with the cyclops boulder attack
i jump and dodge the boulders, but i always have rocks falling on my head taking a chunk of my hp
you're suppose to jump to avoid the aoe, but there's nothing stopping boulders from landing directly on your head
you can have two boulders spawn in the same spot and instantly kill you so i think there's something unintended going on

Because wendigo is very easy to cheese from any platform or box and if you spawn in the northeast corner of the map you can easily kill 3 wendigos before time runs out
I do think that the map should have more wendigos because they are pretty much all clumped up in the northeast part of the map

3.5k gold 75% of the time is crazy, I am farming him with zwei barb and I can do troll easy. Cylcops is a bit iffy cause I am usually 1/4 hp from those damn rocks, and he doesn't have many good drops.

The issue is experience, they have spent months and 3 delays on druid alone. It is possible but would take years.

Honestly, one thing we could all agree on is better quests. I wish there were re-skinned champions, wraiths and demons with voice lines on specific quests. Right now all the fetch quests are more tedious than fun.

Yeah, I love getting good loot but the loot I worked hours on by myself is a drop in the bucket compared to a team of demigods who farmed HR Boss from day 1. We're at a point where good loot feels like greens and legendary and epic feel less like rare and valubal items and more the norms.

Yeah....... Also gold bots don't help. But it's because when you get to a certain point and have a solid team, you can farm crypts hell incredibly easily. It's like everyone else is rolling a snowball and a select few people are creating an avalanche. Doesn't help that BIS stats like +2 all or +10% damage are incredibly common. I'm fine with really good items being in the game like we have now, but they should be incredibly rare and meaningful to lose/have.
creep is great when using it to avoid fights imo, its just when someone sneaks up behind you and kills you before you can even react that it tilts me
I have a weird relationship with creep. I understand why the devs added it to some extent, to reward patience and add actual stealth mechanics. But having all characters have it regardless of level, gear, class or skill was strange at best. If they want to keep it around I would enjoy being able to set up wires with empty potion bottles or broken glass to be able to actually hear them sneaking up.
you mean like in hunt showdown where there's loads of things on the map that can reveal your position?
Yes, just being able to set up can wires or other things to reward caution and adding a counter to stealth gameplay would be nice.
Honestly yeah creep should be removed except from rogue and the nerfs to crouch/walk ms should be reverted
that's an idea, but something someone else said is to tie reduced noise to resourcefulness as that stat is just dead atm
so classes that have high base resource like rogue will obviously make less noise than a barbarian
It would be cool to tie certain abilities or constructions to Resourcefullness. Like at certain stat points you can construct rudimentary traps, alarm systems or barricades.

In that case adding a high resourcefullness base stat to rogue would make them play out more like a Rogue from Dungeons and Dragons than a Skirmisher/Ninja class in other games. Rogues in Dungeons and Dragons were rewarding for their creativity, not the speed or agility.

Yeah..... It's also going to have a lot of balancing issues, with other classes being able to borrow strengths from other classes without any of the other weaknesses. Feels like a ton of easy content could be adding by just making old skills more viable and adding more.
Strength/physical power, true weapon damage and armor pen are the best atm, it depends on your build.

only range that seems broken is the rogue. I havent encountered a ranger or fighter with this sort of dumbness. it's all these +2 all rogues with their double hand-crossbows... pop the shots and run, close doors, reload, repeat. Annoying af. can't get near them.

^ that is absolutely awful its just a band-aid fix to there broken ranked system. The only reason they made it like that is so you dont get overly friendly lobbies in higher ranks

This is so dumb, people just kiting forever, there should be a retreating from combat movement penalty for like 15 seconds
a fix like that wouldn't work and would just cause further problems, if they want to remove people spamming from range then there needs to be a significant distance and damage drop off for range
yes, ideally it should be neo-apprentice/wanderer-pathfinder/voyager-demigod but even that might not be good
they cant have it like that aslong as you forfeit all points for dieing in pvp. Once you get to higher ranks every opts to team because it doesnt matter how many points kills are as long as you forfeit all your points if you lose.
simple fix, make it so you have a negative ap modifier until you kill someone
also some peoples intentions are to pvp and get the best gear, and the best gear in a lobby is the ones other players bring in
they just have to calculate ap on death differently thats the only thing they need to do than they can have actual mmr. And make it so if you take other players gear you get an ap equivelent for that. getting no ap for a full inventory is so dumb regardless of what your taking.

the game is based around looting and extracting, its impossible to have an entirely pvp based mmr system in the game

barb already does a significant amount of damage, its better to be unkillable than to do slightly more damage
just make it so you dont forfeit all ap +cost on pvp death
its extremely simple and will make for a better ranked system

The devs do not play their own game and it shows. It is the player base's complaints that decide the rules. 95% of every lobby is slayer fighters and warlocks yet, there is no problem to be seen. Hi all, I'm new as of this weekend and hit 15 on a couple characters, is there any kind of decent content/guide around what gear rolls are good for each weapon/class etc? I'd like to buy some nicer stuff to take in but I'm genuinely not sure what will make my barb or ranger better, strength or phys dam or w/e to prioritize?
HR is just unplayable rn unless you have max all attys and max MS and max dmg rolls

I did a fight earlier where I was getting kited by a rogue with bleed and poison hand crossbow, and the only way I managed to do much of anything was lead him into a room he couldn't get out of without stopping to open a door

no, at least especially not rn. the melee combat is horrible balanced and honestly feels super inconsistent and horrible a lot of the time.
most fights are who 2 taps the other first, and constantly i will have hits looking like headshots on them and actually being limb shots, and have been getting hit in the head when there is no way it hit my head

It doesn't respect the player's time when half these quests effectively require you to random roll onto the correct map and spawn in the correct square after playing the top level of crypts to have a shot at a quest.

Could be a "milestone" event in each map, which rewinds timer 2min, giving us more time to enjoy. I often feel the matches are too quick. Like all speed shrines activated, or boss killed.
they need to just get rid of the wall and make it like the ice cave or redo it in a fun way atleast

Ye I even tried healing thru it as a warlock. Turns out hellfire spam doesn’t seem as powerful as it sounds
there's chains stickin out of the ground you can stand on to kinda cheese the rocks falling if you're in the right position but it's still not entirely safe

yep crouch jump is pretty crucial. the chains are near one of the corners i think. kinda works sometimes, depends on position and if you're ranging. if melee, best to just attack his back full speed while hopping like a pogostick lol

The big issue is, you need to interact with three different shrines BEFORE anyone else interacts with them. If someone got to them before you and they recharge it no longer counts as a new interaction.why? Because lol, lmao!

the issue isn't ranged being too effective, its the nature of melee vs ranged in general
there's no real way to make it balanced and so long as ranged exists then someone will always be wanting to kill an opponent from range or pepper them up before going into melee
people use throwables before a fight for the same reason people use prot pots, its creating a health disparity in their favour
the only way you can make ranged combat better is by making it more engaging, IE giving it more utility options instead of just raw damage
my idea would be having different types of arrows/bolts that work better against different types of armored targets, or work better at further ranges or not, so rangers/bards/fighters/rogues actually have to think about what they're using before they fight
likewise with casters, you can create spells that are more or less effective against different targets
as for throwables you can reduce the arc and damage of them dramatically the further they go, so they're less "range" and more something you have to be close but not in melee range to use effectively
increase melee users move speed by 25% and ranged issue goes out the window
they can't just spam range and run away without consequence
i will just point out this is pretty much how it currently is on rogues
hand crossbow damage is pretty low so kills with it are only gotten by rupture spam and taking forever to fight
hand crossbow is used by most rogues to engage using cut throat and rupture for some opening damage and the ultility of disabling spell casters
also there is already falloff damage the longer a projectile travels
throwables are balanced much better after the change of needing 1.75 seconds to equip them to a slot
so mid fight they are engage damage
i do however like the idea of more utility being added

"outsmarting" someone who fights from range is merely relying on them making mistakes
i agree that it needs some changes but in its current state there really isnt anything broken about it
its very possible to beat rangers and other ranged classes
so yes changes should be made that allow for more creative ways to go against it
but that doesnt mean the range it self needs nerfs

theyre picking off health/heals/protection pots and running. won't engage until you're low. will literally chase around the entire map and run back 4 grids when u push.

as the slower player you should try to force yourself into a better position where you have the advantage
bows come with high movement penalties and allow you to most of the time outspeed the ranger or rogue that has it out
as for picking off heals
arrows and bolts are also resources that they use up to do this
so it would be attrition (which i can admit is not always fun)
but they spend resources to make you spend resources
the damage and speed of the weapons isnt a problem
what needs to be done (ironmace has said this is a change that will happen)
is a quiver system that limits the amount of arrows you can bring in to the dungeon
this would force ranged classes to be smarter and less spam heavy with their arrows
i've been running cleric with 105% MS and can't catch them.
no range = can't touch em.
it's literally the same story every rogue i encounter. 5min back n forth until i run out of heals and they push with a cut throat bolt after stalking me for ages.

no rogue with rupture poison and spamming handcrossbow will do anything to a cleric that has perserverence and protection from evil

i run both of those perks and absolutely get damaged by bolts
no class in HR is slow or fast, it all comes down to build
cleric only has 3 range spells and they're not the best ranged options in the game
cleric having perseverance and protection from evil doesn't stop them from taking 0 damage, especially with true phys and magic

0 damage is an exaggeration but protection from evil alone more than halves any damage over time effect
and perseverance cuts it a ton more
for one or two shots sure. try getting stalked for 10+ shots in your asscheeks by someone you cant catch and come back to talk.

Boi, holy strike with stacked additional magic damage can like, 2-3 tap multiple classes. And you have smite or divine to trade into people on melee.
Also: if catching people is your concern. Build speed and magic damage, not PDR. Chapel gives agility, grab one with +2 true magic, grab a cloak with additional magic damage, grab turnshoes with move speed bonus, and flesh the rest out with lightweight armor.
You will be fast enough to catch up to any class, and if you run holy smite you can get people low with holy strike then finish them off by smiting and chasing them down with your Torch out.

we need a serious game balance update, every character has a counter, this is not overwatch every character based offrom user input should be able to beat another character, it cant be based offrom where I spawn, and the skills on each class which objectively counters other classes and make them remotely useless. this was the funnest game and Id come home from work to play this game until midnight. now i come home use a kit with 3 uniques and lose to a pdr fighter with a crossbow who second winds and sprints with 295 move speed with his falchion and heater and three hits me because i have 30 pdr because i am using a class which would counter the other 3 classes that are always busted.

you need to avoid the dex on cleric
dex is attack speed which isnt bad but you should be focused more on vigor on cleric if anything
also i would give up the frock for a padded tunic atleast
the + all att gives me a fair amount of vigor. dex is pretty crucial to maintain a reasonable attack speed. padded tunic slows you down too much. that's detrimental to the MS goal.
Padded tunic is awful, wat. Frock is amazing for cleric solo because of its crazy armor rating and low move speed modifier.

First part of this is wrong. Named uniques can come from any pile with some having a higher %. Bosses do drop specific names uniques but not the piles, you can pull anything from any boss pile.

Farm troll in GC, one pelt can easily get you a near BIS kit.

You can get a mid kit with that surely which is more than enough

The term bis is tossed around so much
BIS doesn't really mean anything, gear is so easy to get right now that the only real 'BIS' are legendaries/uniques with +all or damage rolls.

Bis just means best in slot, no dead rolls. Buying a 5k kit with 25 dead rolls doesn’t make it near bis. 5k is pretty standard and lets you get good kits but definitely not anywhere near bis and idk if you can even get 105%ms with 50pdr

I've gotten some crazy deals on them before, depends on the market(This was pretty early in wipe). I've seen it, and you can get pretty crazy sets with 3.5~4.5k gold. It depends on what your going for, what I usually see from bards in solo is true damage and ms and they basically play a more agile ranger. I also usually see high pdr ms builds in crypts where it's far FAR more easy to farm money.
It’s easier to farm trios if your team is good, other wise you’ll be wiping every other game. For solos I build dex/damage but I know the rank one player builds pdr and hp which I personally am not fond of because of how slow you are. Bard has a ton of viable build options unlike most classes
Yeah, for warlocks and wizards you usually want high ms with good ranged damage to kite their spells and not get BOC'd. Trios also depends on rank and region, OCE is an obstacle course of hackers I've heard, and the early ranks are easy af. Might honestly be a viable stat to just make new characters to farm HR BOSS and transfer loot.

try to get them down to less than half and let them all in you with mm, should kill them if you kite efficiently

To be perfectly fair, wizards are an actual menace and should be exterminated with prejudice. Barbs are very strong in solos, and are an excellent counter to wizards, rogues and rangers. You also have my full sympathies for quest shenanigans, the quests are completely wacked.

True damage carries wizard because certain spells receive the greatest buff from true damage and not regular magic damage

anyone building pdr/mdr in norms can't build move speed, they're slow, very slow.
They all have a movement speed increase button though and the map is designed around melee range. 80% of fight take place is narrow spaces. Esp in GC and as the game goes on it just gets worse. I think they need to rework solos in general. Make it solo self found cap it at blue gear. When you extract gear it's branded as looted solo so you can bring that gear back in. Any gear bought from the market place or found else where it branded looted or handled. Be so much fun for the casual players.
its not though you can't bring greens or blues into normals and you should be able to as solo self found. meaning not gear from the outside is allowed.
If you are playing wiz in normals throw on staff mastery and ignite and hope it's enough when they close the gap.
Kiting with slow is also mandatory.
Mr gear really sucks for the most part its barbs with free 100 rating that are frustrating.
I tried it and it just doesn't seem to be enough since they 1 or 2 shot us. You would have to land at least 5 or more damage spells before thinking about melee ignite with a barb.
- The map isn't melee focused, over half of the rooms are completely open. You're a wizard, you do best in hallways as players can't dodge your spells, also, you actively choosing to play in small rooms is YOUR decision. In addition, you said you want to mine and thats it, mining room is completely open.
- The game shouldn't be adjusted to meet your standards and lack of adaptability. High roller is an understandable thing to complain about but norms is well.. norms...
- Those "move speed buttons" can be negated by ice mastery bolts, like i already said, and barb rage is only 10% ms so with mdr gear thats like +25 ms.

What I"m saying is most fights happen outside of those big rooms because they're few a far between. 10 games now and I have yet to even make it to the mining room. Why is ore in one stupid module is beyond me shouldn't be like that. You can call skill issue all day but I never struggled this hard until they dropped all this MR gear and other changes. That was back when I did actual damage to barbs though.
Hitting spells with base browns knowledge is non trivial but yes if you hit enough spells before they are ontop of you then you can win.

Yeah normals is in a weird spot for sure. The most fun I have ever had in this game is the playtest where they capped gear at blue. idk if anyone here played that but it was so good. Gear check was not a huge issue like it is now. That's why I play more normals than HR. It's not fun to go in with a mid set and get gear checked into oblivion.

yes the biggest is you squire... he will eventually level up to have all white gear for your starting set.
that and if you like crafting gear it will unlock that for you as well. If you don't care about either than yeah I would say quest are worthless to you.
Ice caverns is excellent for mid gear hr or "zero to hero" playstyle. Even if you go in as a solo. I dont know if normals is in that weird spot but yeah. Class balance shifts are big between normal and hr.

You're not wrong when I HR I def enjoy Ice caverns more than crypts. Ruins is my fav map because it was always open and easy to loop around. Also almost zero traps on walls/floor. Crypts and GC I don't really care for.

cleric is pretty slow so ideally you get the other buffing class first
after the second buffing class is dead
you can put 1 person to make sure the cleric cant buff the barb or heal them
and have the other 2 on your team 2v1 the barb/fighter
cleric is limited on heals and buffs so you can just wear them down
use the environment to your advantage as much as possible
put simply bard is the main concern for buffball comp since his buffs are usually constant
take him out and the buff ball falls apart
if its wiz cleric buff ball then taking the wiz out first is best

I think no one out heals it
the only attack that cant be consistently dodged is rockfall
you can time your jumps to dodge the rocks that hit the ground near you
but sometimes they fall on your head which is just unlucky
but with enough damage you can just force him out of that phase
and go back to the normal attacks where you can dodge everything
so the only consistent way to avoid damage from rockfall is to dps the phase quickly
i recommend healing as soon as he gets out of rockfall to make up for any damage you take

Genuinely curious as to how implementing multiclass will attract new players to the game especially after the move to EPIC. Does IM really expect it to be accessible for most players before end of wipe? Correct me if I'm wrong, but (afaik) you need one character around 75 and at least one other at around 30 before you can earn enough learning tokens to have access to the right combination of skills/perks to open up the broken builds. The average experience for new/casual players in HR is already pretty rough...what do you think it's going to be like after IM implements multiclass but gatekeeps it behind a level grind?

IMO the devs have done a pretty decent job with balance improvements to classes over the last few patches. Which is why the whole multiclass concept seems so bizarre since it basically wipes it all out in one fell swoop. Back to square one trying to balance everything.
they readded it cause most base stats on gear have been increased making it not as over powered since most players will have higher stats just from static stats anyway
also the max +all is 8 when before it was 22
so its very different from before

I get what your saying but if they were planning to add it back in, did they really have to increase the stats of everything else? They already had balancing issues with certain gear. If they added it back I just want to know why if it's arguably better than other rolls minus maybe true damage?
Which is another thing, maybe +all stats wouldn't be too bad, if you couldn't stack true damage on top of it. Right now having someone gain speed, action speed, casting speed, health, and damage that you cannot negate is kind of throwing a wrench in balancing, especially since you don't have to stat into any specific one and can just have them all.
people just dont understand that the point of +all is to round out a players stats
be a good boost to the stats you want and make up for your weaker stats to round you out

as for vigor and agi giving health and movespeed respectively they should
and the higher the stat goes the less it gives
and yes increasing everything else allows players to overall be a little stronger which slows down fights
as for being better than other stats thats simply because it makes up for the weaknesses within your class a bit
and anywhere you can minimize your weaknesses is always good
also increasing everything else makes +all less worthwhile in itself cause it allows you to make your strengths stronger bringing the curve of +all to effectively fill out less

i will also add true damage is still affected by the percent scaling of skills and spells

tbh haven't really had a stutter since they fixed it a couple patches ago (except for that 1 patch that broke it again)
Same for weapons like daggers, ranged ect. True kind of defeats the purpose of other damage types since the recent patch added a lot of pdr gear for most characters. I'd be fine if it was just for certain skills, abilities or weapons but it's just arguably better than +damage rn, unless you stat into a of armor pen.
pdr max did get lowered from 85% to 75% in a recent hotfix
+additional is better when you have enough power bonus +additional also rolls higher
but yeah in alot of cases +true is more useful
if anything id like to see the option to get more armor pen which could make additional match up more
cause you only really reasonably get maybe 25% with it on every piece of gear
and 25% of 75% isnt all that huge

11 true is pretty massive when it comes to anything that is quick. Survival bow with +11 true when you can get 10 shots off almost instantly with quick fire and quick shot is nuts. And for casters curses are nuts zap is nuts magic missle is nuts

It's just a bad gameplay loop, it allows you to run away from a fight at will, dodge attacks and catch players with crazy dps. Movespeed is probably one of the top 2 stats atm.
What if there was a maximum model rotation speed so there was a speed to how fast you could turn and run in the other direction after swinging an attack
there is no sacrifice/gain on any class other than maybe rogue cause they are just poop unless in all bis but, all the rest of the classes can be the best of all worlds now, build MS and then you got locks/wizards/clerics moonlighting as warriors and tanks while still dealing a ton of magic damage. there has to be a sac/gain or otherwise everyone can do everything.
Even adding a larger movespeed penalty when you strike a shield or weapon would be nice, as it is they can get away with just about anything with zero consequence. The only class that might get away with plate or vigor is warlock, and that's purely because they can heal off the damage done in a short time.
I've said it before, but I'm fine with classes or builds being super strong. The issue is when their strong in all areas, there should be trade offs.
that is my point. right now they can be strong in all areas, mostly the mages. when i fight a mage now its like fighting a fighter or barb that can still do too much damage with magic without having to sacrifice that to be tanky or light their weapon up and one bonk everyone. it needs to be one or the other. if you build heavy in magic damage you will not be able to be tanky and have uber melee damage as well. that is the trade off. its called glass cannon for a reason

No class of Cleric in DND has ever been limited to cloth or leather and all can use shields.

I think adding magic lock to the doors in troll that persists throughout the fight and like 3-5 seconds afterwards would make it worth fighting, currently it's either third party or get interrupted mid fight.

yeah, rogues can't really walk in LoS of people anymore unless they are distracted or don't know what they are looking for
still useful to be able to reposition when no one is looking but I wouldn't gamble moving in front of someone unless you have to

because you may have been forced to hit hide in a bad spot? Its common to need to move slightly and taking a step in the couple seconds they are looting a box can make the difference between being forced to act or going by unnoticed

the entire point behind an ambush class is to HAVE a free engage. That's literally the entire job description.

my bad should have phrased it better. when i say its not a free engage i mean you actually have to put in a bit of effort to get an ambush off instead of just mindlessly walking right up to them completely invisible.

I can't agree with this enough. For some reason rogue players feel like they should be gifted free engages because that's the "class identity". You should still have to work for it.
we shouldn't have to work for it. We have to work for the kill, not the engage. The kill is the hard part, the kill is the part where rogues are at a disadvantage, a disadvantage that is mitigated by getting a free couple of hits whenever we want.

I do believe that the arrow hit box should be a little wider, I find that rangers miss shots that i would think to be unfair if I was a ranger.

all videos i see of rogues on youtube recently have gotten rid of hide all together, they use dark spots to ninja and creepmeta for the win.

That's because hide is a crutch that any decent player will learn to not rely on, same with Ranger biscuits
so what you are saying is rogues do not need stealth or even hide to engage, they just need a dark spot :)
mine would be, it creates a false expectation for the game to be balanced around solos which is mostly why theres talk of all of the rock paper scissors match ups in solo. but the game probably never will be or should be balanced to make up for that, class a counters class b and you should have teammates to make up for that counter. Solos is an alternative to finding friends or using the guild hall and thats all it should be

What is this new issue with the game? Launcher is huge, mouse cursor is huge, everything is blurry. Was just playing 2 hrs ago no issue. I scanned/ repaired, restarted etc and no change.

i know that updating graphic drivers while games are on is a bad idea, if you have those set to auto update it might make strange things happen.
That's how a decent PvP game works. For anything one player can do to you, you can mitigate it. Rangers can apply ranged pressure, you can take cover. Barbs are melee juggernauts, you can keep your distance. Rogues can try to stay hidden, you can keep an eye out for them. You seem to want the game made easy for you, all advantage and no disadvantage.
i sold an item for 25k and i've sold almost every item in my stashes (3) and only have 1200 gold, and still don't have enough room to fucking withdraw the 25k. how the hell do i save myself from this problem

For stealth, people can use lightsources like lanturns to invalidate the stealth like wizard light orb.
Or, for the ratchet barbarian, you can swing wildly into every corner until you get lucky.
There was zero reason to gimick nerf stealth when it already had multiple counters. People decided to ignore those counters and complain instead of 'getting good' as you said.
