What class do you play? Playing solo in crypts is doable but you got to be skittish and not attract attention. Also make sure voice chat is on, sometimes you'll meet people that are chatty and you can team up and maybe 3rd party some geared people.

Oh definitely. Ironmace sucks at balancing yet they're obsessing over balance. Rogue in particular is hard to balance because you don't want him killing everyone before they've had a chance to defend themselves and you don't want him just melting because someone saw him out of the corner of their eye.

Depends on the build. The only rogue build that I'd consider viable right now in pvp is Rupture + hand crossbow. Poke them and run away. It's not the most glamourous tactic but your stealth sucks, you have no aptitude to fight in the dark compared to others and most classes with a little gear can catch you.
This makes rogue better vs squishies who can't heal and don't have time to shoot him back. So wizards and maybe bards to an extent. Rogues should be the counter to squishy casters but they just don't have the staying power at the moment.

Not only should rogues have stealth but stealth should feel good to use. Right now it feels horrible.
Speaking rogues stealth, how would you feel about a Shadow step ability on rogue? It would be a perk, you'd use it by pressing your stealth button a 2nd time. and it would teleport you a reasonable distance away while keeping stealth. If pointed at a player it could have you teleport behind them or it could just ignore the player and tp where you're pointing. You'd be able to use it a single time per use of stealth.

Duck it we need gear caps. Neck beards can be mad all they want the average player is gonna be ok with the changes. Instead of pandering to the 1% sweatlords help out the other 99% who want to play a better game. TTK felt good for those few hours after patch 15 since people didn't have crazy stats on every piece of equipment they had. Make +all only available on jewelry/capes and watch how much better it feels without everyone stacking +all on every piece of gear they have. There is a reason you have the stats the way they are, Any higher on certain stats and it becomes unbalanced so why allow sweats to become so overpowered you can't do anything against them? +weapon should not be on armor since that makes 0 sense, Make the rolls on items make more sense like armor can't get any dmg buffs like armor pens or +weapon dmg and weapons can't give damage reduction. Don't fold to these no lifers when you know what your vision for the game is. Hold true to what you said and the most of the community will support you!

Although while we're on the subject of balancing rogue, I'd make the rogue Caltrops and Smoke Pot utility items that you could buy and bring into the dungeon. I'd make caltrops a bit larger area, and I'd give the player the choice of throwing the caltrops where you're aiming at a distance or behind you depending on whether you left or right clicked while holding the item. Same thing with smoke pot.
I'd make the duration of Cut throat and other rogue abilities scale off of resourcefulness. I'd give them a perk that makes rupture reduce incoming healing (or add it straight to the base skill) I'd also make rupture deal true physical damage and scale off of only +true physical damage (and resourcefulness for the duration). The reasoning is that armor doesn't stop you from bleeding.

Additional notes, considering rogue has too many perks that are too weak, I'd also remove the lockpick perk and let rogue start with a few lockpicks. Also lockpicks wouldn't be consumed on a successful use but the difficulty of the check would depend on the quality of the chest or door and the stats of the user, becoming easier with agi and resourcefulness.

Resourcefulness is a very low valued perk I think if they put more value to the perks like this or like my buddy’s and I think just make more “Core Stats” Put HP in its own stat non correlated with strength, we could also see Dexterity split off from agility these can also bring in more modifiers to give more options of what build a person can do a lot.

Here I think a good direction to balance Modifiers.
We need almost 2 modifiers to make a real difference, such as Armor level and phy reduce percentage. Need to compile both to reach 60+ phy reduce.
we need Additional phy and true dmg to make survival bow be threatful to other character.
We need weapon dmg and phy power and armor penetrate to make ranger be powerful.
By doing so, everyone will need at least 2 modifier in almost all gear working together so they have advantage in one aspect. But not powerful at all aspects.
So we need to cut the cap for armor level from 15 to 10. 65+phy reduce barb definitely need some weakness. lower their damage is acceptable. For their movement speed buff is temporary. Not one shot almost everyone is important, that says 75armor penetrating is too damn powerful. I believe 55percent is fine to against fighter and cleric.

What's more important, is to make defensive modifier harder to build than offensive modifier, which is the key part to make everyone feels they have a chance to challenge GOD GEAR TEAM, not make this game just LEFT CLICK and chase around.

we need to make a way that Geared team are not so hard to die(ranger is an example, every team have confidence to kill him.) , and not too fast at the same time.

For players.. its hard 1. I would suggest lookin at the interactive map on another website and start to know the layout of the runs. Tall task but slowly doable. Then just figure out which are high traffic areas and set a goal. Do you wnana get out? Do you wanma zero to hero and get a lucky kill?

Another important aspect for most games is to count how many people die and to what. If you see like, 3 people die in rapid succession, that means a team just got wiped fast. Kill feed can givr you a lot, snd i mean a lot, of info.count the players and stay near the edge of the circle

Did you try to buy a key? I agree that the trading has some serious issues, especiall given you can't trade more than 1250 at a time. The way you get around that though is to transfer your gold into other more compact stores of value, Gold bars, Rubysilver ingots, Candy Corn all are good for that, then you trade those for the key.

There is a reason you have the stats the way they are, Any higher on certain stats and it becomes unbalanced so why allow sweats to become so overpowered you can't do anything against them? +weapon should not be on armor since that makes 0 sense, Make the rolls on items make more sense like armor can't get any dmg buffs like armor pens or +weapon dmg and weapons can't give damage reduction. No not entirely, I do support certain changes to attempt and limit the negative experience new and more causual players have. I support a segregated gear queue for this reason. But No I do not want the game to fundementally change and lose its identity to try and appease people who mistakenly thought this was some chivalry reskin. Gear disparity is a neccessary core feature of any Full loot RPG, and serves as the incentive for play and the progression system. Without gear disparity this game serves no purpose and may as well not exist.

It seems great for PvE but even after the extra spells and perks nothing about it seems all too great. I was told with gear the self-sustain makes it worth while but now that's been nerfed.

Several builds, you can try the flamewalker build, where you stack magic damage and run through people with phantasmasize, you can also use hydra or hellfire for extra zoning. Or you can do the tried and tested classic of get big bonk stick use Blow of Corruption and whack people in the head for like 120 magic damage, kills most people in one hit if they aren't a super geared fighter, barb or cleric. You can even run phantasmaize with that build too so you can be invincible while you wait for BOC to go off cooldown and try again. Finally you can try the magic sniper build where you run shadowbolt and eldritch shield with power of corruption. You use eldritch shield, then power of corruption to break your own eldritch shield, that will then empower your next Shadowbolt and you can snipe people at distance with headshots to one tap them with dark damage.

In team play Warlock can be very good for area control, and while barb is super strong it does weaknesses in that it is weak to ranged attacks (unfortunately not magic ranged attacks) and has low attack range. If you just want to w+M1 for easy kills Blow of corruption is the easiest and most cheese build Warlocks have. But in all honesty nothing is better than sniping with a ranger, except sniping with a fighter that has 70%PDR.

Completely agreed, The issue right now is that the playerbase is diveded into two camps the streamers (sweats), and the casuals (reddit). Both have an entirely different vision for the game and entirely different concerns and changes they want made. IM seems to just be flip flopping between these two groups with diametrically opposed interests, in an attempt to appease both. This obviously isn't sustainable. I would have argued that they could keep playing pass around, but after the recent two hotfixes and the illwill that broght they can't play the middleman anymore. At this point they need to pick a side and commit to that audience or they will make a game that appeals to no one.

There is a reason you have the stats the way they are, Any higher on certain stats and it becomes unbalanced so why allow sweats to become so overpowered you can't do anything against them? +weapon should not be on armor since that makes 0 sense, Make the rolls on items make more sense like armor can't get any dmg buffs like armor pens or +weapon dmg and weapons can't give damage reduction. Don't fold to these no lifers when you know what your vision for the game is. Hold true to what you said and the most of the community will support you!

Finding loot has no excitement anymore. Most people play loot based games for the excitement around finding a good piece of loot.

Devs have said from the beginning they arent focusing on balance until core systems are worked out. Well guess what the core systems are still broken, hackers/bots are everywhere, servers are unstable af, audio queues dont play half the time, the crisp audio from early playtests is gone, netcode is super rubber bandy and can literally delete or dupe items at times. Until they fix those I doubt balance will get much better.

the best way to build up wealth on a character with no risk is to play gearless, leave the lobby if you see any capes while waiting and rejoin a few times to avoid super geared players in your rounds. that shouldnt be the easiest way to get wealth though, i should be more motivated to do goblin caves or use some gear.
but especially as cleric when all my damage is to undead like holy purification the other maps are better

The curse damage is just tickle damage, in PvP melee the class sucks if you can't instakill BoC.

The only thing that's going for the class is sustain and the PvE. In PvP it's trying to be a hybrid but a melee class with beat it in melee and a ranged class will beat it at range.

It is a pvp game in which most pvp encounters are won by one to two swipes of a weapon. Where tf is the feel of combat or pvp? This feels more like sit and gank than pvp and loot. I want fights to feel meaningful. I sit in goblin caves doing nothing for 5-8 minutes looking for one fight and whether im 1 tapping or the other guy is... it just doesnt feel like genuine pvp man.

My typical fight is opening long range with a crossbow shot, then LOS'ing their projectiles the best I Can if they have any. Then pushing with a sprint, while straffing any mobs between us, then stepping in and out of combat or ducking to get a swipe of theirs to miss. If I feel like im losing mid combat I pull back to get heals off. I will throw a shield depending on their swings and positioning, or I will use proper angles to avoid parrys. I am having much more skillful fights than someone like you who just holds "w" and swings his sword

It’s safe to say Ironmace has lost there way. Succumbing to a vocal minority. Flip flopping regularly. Bard because they've been consistently nerfed just about every patch since August without the nerfs addressing the purported problem.
Warlock because they nerfed Eldritch shield.
In both of these cases if they really needed nerfs they could have been done more elegantly. Eldritch Shield for example could've had it's damage bonus reduced to +20% without nerfing the shield component. And if you tell me "oh but that shield made a hard counter against wizard" I'll point out that wizard is a hard counter to fighters and also on to two shots other classes. Having options to counter that isn't a bad thing. AND wizards can easily melt through the shield with magic missiles, even a direct hit from a fireball takes out the shield and then some. Wizard has scaling on his spells, warlock doesn't have scaling on his Eldritch Shield.

There are hit registry problems that occur fairly often in my experience. You here the sound of the hit and connect but 0 damage. You can test on dummy and see for yourself. You’ll get 0 hit reg sometimes

Warlock's crazy scaling with magical healing I can understand it got looked at, but eldritch shield was a high tier spell that didn't otherwise see much game play. If anything it needed a bit of scaling maybe +50% as a buff.

Grey gear warlock is the hardest grey gear class in the game, very hard to use without magical healing but a good strategy I’ve accomplished with it and running and having them chase and put their weapon away and you turn and hit with blow of courrption with ur fists and then keep running and spamming that since it’s only 15 second cooldown and u kill most people in 3-4 hits if no heals

Why is that a problem? Zap one to two shots people, has great scaling and clerics have options other than holy strike for damage, they're perfectly capable of beating up the warlock in melee especially if they're using a warmaul. What's wrong it Eldritch shield countering those abilities?
@twilit sail Why? it had no scaling so with a bit of gear it can be melted, aside from the wizard all of the classes impacted can do decent phyiscal damage, and the wizard can just melt through the shield with magic missiles and finish off the warlock with the same volley.

2 handed weapons should have always a longer range because of the length of said weapons. Axes are lengthier than any 1 handed weapon and the Felling Axe is no different. If you are wielding a weapon with 2 hands and has the same range of a 1 handed then you should be attacking faster.

Besides the game is supposed to be balanced around teams of 3, however it feels like that's another one of ironmace's lies. In a team of 3 even if warlock completely locks out wizard with eldritch shield, every other class can deal with that warlock, and even then melting through the shield doesn't take long.

You're right that your build is safer, but it's not the only thing option. Besides the one thing the could counter curse of pain spam is eldritch shield. You wouldn't even heal off of the target because all the damage was being absorbed by the shield. BoC also cuts your healing down pretty effectively.

Eldrich shield is kinda ass it only eats 1 curse of pain and takes 10 hp off you I beat most warlocks who use it in a 1v1 and I never use it and I would never get hit by blow of corruption cause if I see them activate it and get close enough I phantomize and by the time it ends so does their blow of corruption

Wizard is the only other caster that feels blasty. Cleric has some damage spells but they're pretty high tier so unless you get a ton of knowledge you're not going to afford them.

This game allows to much bullying with higher gear. There needs to be a gear score inorder to enter certain maps. This can be directly correlated with the loot that is dropped and allow players to go up a ladder and face off against players of a similar score. It is not fun to have super geared players just run on you and you literally have no chance. Its not like you can even run, since they also buff movement speed.
