Just wondering, what's the best way to deal with goblin bolaslingers with melee? They're the most annoying enemy for me right now.
If they do their full swing before throwing, you can step in quickly, back up, then move to the side, then repeat, but sometimes, the slinger skips half the swing animation and throws almost instantly, and it's impossible to dodge since they have perfect aim, and its hitbox is so large

Fighter is a good first class, you can use weapon mastery as your first perk which will let you use everything and sprint plus the second wind ability gives you chase and a 50% heal. It’s simple combat focused so you can learn the core mechanics

Yes the high risk is that you stand to lose both gold and gear. If you can join HR for no cost you stand to only gain gold and gear. This discourages players from bringing gear into highroller because not only can they not kill as many other players for gear, players they encounter are likely to just be a more advanced mob that taxes them at best, and at worst puts them in a severely bad position against other geared players

No the fundamental difference isn't only the gold barrier. It's the loot table, it's the mob difficulty, and the map layouts, and the entry fee and the decreased amount of exit portals. All of these are combined to make it a high stakes situation. Removing the fee only allows for players to go in endlessly hoping to strike it rich off of other players who bring in gear. A player who has nothing in highroller stands to gain everything, the players with gear stand to lose far too much. The gold entry fee makes it so if you want to rat, you better be able to afford the amount it takes to run the map over and over again. And in that case you'd simply be better off bringing in gear

Problem is that it leads to matchmaking by skill, which will split the playerbase into smaller segments. The Under 15 lobbies allows new players to experience the game without too many geared people stomping on them early on. And then they are put into the 15 up lobbies with the rest of us.

There have been multiple other points that you can address. Players below 15 can't trade, so it means all of the players are using stuff that they found instead of highly tuned gear that they bought, so below 15 lobbies are more fair.

Also the gear gap is boring for both players. Player in grays gets trounced every time with no counterplay, even if they get in 5 hits for every 1 their opponent gets in. Juiced player gets nothing worth looting.

Okay look, I've been playing since PT 3. I have a lot of game hours in this game. I AM NOT GOOD AT THIS GAME and neither are my other 9-5 real job buddies. They only like playing level 0-15 because the game is easier because theres a higher density of "New" players (Or shall I say people at our level) compared to 15+, where the devs have INCENTIVISED mid level players such as myself to stay under 15 to have more fun. That, in and of itself, is a problem. Atleast before, when EVERYONE was put together, there was times where lobbies had sweats, beginniners, mid-teir people, all mixed together. This made the games more fun. Sure, you couldn't go up and expect to win against juiced teams, but atleast there was more people at the same level in one que compared to now where everyone is split. If you're "Good", you go 20+, if your "Bad" you stay in 1-15. This is not good, at all, and honestly its mad annoying to see everyone defending it. Most of the times, its clear the people who support it are in the "Good" category and they benefit from the change.

I understand your frustration, but the main reason people are so in favor of the level split lobby is because of the San Paolo meta. If it was an even distribution of some games you get noobs and mid tiers, some games you get a juicer team in normals, etc, it would be more tolerable. But because all of the cheesers farm up insane amounts of gear and wealth on empty or low pop servers, they get to come in with BIS or near-BIS slot kits.

Normal lobbies are full of juicers because of the San Paolo meta. There are multiple juicer teams in each lobby. Then these kids run you down and chase you all the way across the map for their highlight reel so that they can pretend to be good because they kill dudes in greys and greens.

I still don't see the point of matching people with only 1 perk against people with all of their perks. Seems kind of unfair. But, if you absolutely did want to get rid of the level split, you'd have to both fix the San Paolo meta issue and tone down the power of the gear so that the difference isn't so impossible to overcome. Legitimately I have had fights where I hit my opponent in the head 9 times with a falchion and they didn't die, but they got one headshot on me and I died.

Cheesers will always switch to whatever the lowest pop server is. You have to region lock their account or inventory in some way.

yea. full stash and about 2k gold. problem is now we are running into silly comps, so that reserve is going to drain fast. honestly we treated 1-14 like a zero to hero. slowly built up gear, bought upgrades when we could. looted when we could. was alot of fun. going to be hard to resist the temptation to just reroll lvl 1s the next time. when everyones chad mcgee people play like cowards. 1-14 we get lots of fights, maybe 1 team vs 1 team at the final portals. when your post 15, its a big rat race, you get to the final portals and 4 teams are alive and everyone pvp's and denies portals and the whole lobby dies to the swarm. its crazy. we had a bunch of teams that were equally geared, that saw our capes (we got those at 15) and they straight up just kept running, wouldnt take the fight lol

Teaming in this game is so lame. Actually the cringiest thing in this game since they readded VOIP. Players cry to other players when they see someone who is slightly more geared than them because they don't have the IQ capability to figure out a way around it by themselves. A lot of people step into the game and want to focus on PvPing and winning fights but that's kind of only half the battle.

The more you get comfortable with the map and learn how to use the mobs, map, and positioning to your advantage; the more feasible it becomes to out-play your opponent.

I think the problem is if you look up guides it's basically,for most classes, get shit on until you have enough gold to out gear other players. That's almost word for word the first guide I saw for wizard

As a new player - the hardest part is extracting once or twice, and knowing its not worth it to buy anything because it won't matter what you're wearing when you have 2 perks while everyone else has 3. So you save the money....and then they wipe.

True physical will inflict that damage regardless of the other players damage reduction.

Weapon damage will add damage to your weapon; which WILL be reduced by their damage reduction.

So true damage is better.

This applies to true magic as well

Also I feel like the guides can quickly lose relevance, with the regular patches, since so much changes. When we get to a more developed game where patches are not THIS important and don't change this much, then the guides will be more useful for a longer time and can get more traction

Hardcore games allways die. look at all the "Hardcore pvp" mmos. Hardcore games feed off new Players so you feel good. having a bad new Player experience dries up the influx. decent players Start to get shit on by good and then they by great. its the "it gets good after 100 Hours" arguement. how about spending them on a game that is fun.

Ruins loot is fkn juiced. @indigo ginkgo @lapis haven it’s called stuffing, pushing your char model so close to opponent it messes up the hitbox. Really useful for falchions

Eldritch shield negates the curse damage from Power of Sacrifice

Was running Warlock + Cleric, I'd give the cleric the +15 str from my curse, he'd drink an ale, use smite, and go in HEAVY on any player.

Easy to use, decent dmg, not going to hit walls very often. What’s not to like about arming sword? It doesnt hold up as well in this wipe so far (cause low dmg) but still one of my fave movesets

the Warlock has Eldritch Shield which negates 40 magic damage.

Can be suuuuper handy. Doesn't cost much HP to cast either

white magic staff can 1 shot spiders, TWO lightning strikes wont kill a spider....Wiz may be decent for PvP but the PvE is ass

@peak crypt the damage is shite, a grey falch is simply better. 4 swings on the starting arming to break a barrel/crate? That 2dmg base difference from junks to whites is huge.

Falch is tricky af. It has a huge sour spot, and tends to be a limb magnet. I also love that weapon, but i have lost more fights to it’s moveset than i have an arming sword. Also, I don’t know if ive ever friendly fired an arming sword lol
