If how broken sorcerer was on release warranted a hotfix nerf, surely how bad it is now warrants a hotfix buff. It makes no sense for you guys to work on the class for this long just to have it be useless after 1 day.

Chu ko nu crossbow - Repeater Crossbow?

Requirement: Hold with 2 hands, Crossbow Mastery

Stats: -45 movement speed, armor penetration 15%, Physical Base Weapon Damage 32

Class: Ranger

  • Weakness: Long reload time, needs Dex to reload and pull the trigger rapidly for the repeater, short-range (a little farther than the Hand Crossbow)

While playing crystal sword I came up with an idea how to make parries on non-reposte weapons worth it without devaluating reposte as a mechanic.

Imagine instead of going into a stagger animation after a successful parry, you straight go back into default position, allowing you to follow up with a standard left click attack. It would deal way less damage than an actual reposte attack and would also be slower, but it would still give you a little bit of chip damage against enemies and a good starting point for an attack chain. This would also really distinguish parries from shieldblocks, since you cant block multiple attacks in rapid succession as you can with shield. Thus making parry much more offensive and blocking much more defensive.

Also it would need close to no dev time, since you're basicly just removing an animation.

Flame thrower should be buffed. Hellfire does 60 dps and its a projectile while flame thrower does 10 dps and you need to stand there casting.

now that sorc uses spell cool downs. what would you guys think if each class gets some cantrips to choose from. just like dungens and dragons they would be some spells you can always use( cool down based) and low tear but realible. perhaps merge some of the skills for current classes into cantips, like spell reflection on fighter, or invisability on the rogue aswell as some new ones. it would atleast give a reson for usless rolls on gear like knolage and will have some impact for those classes. classes like wiz, druid and cleric could would be able to use them for simple mobs or buffs without sitting all the time.

Have not yet played this season (waiting to recover bit of dnd motivation and for few of first hotfix rounds to hit) so have not seen it or do not know how much damage.
Is flamer working as one expects, aka turnable?
So there is bit of difference in where slow projectile might in some ways be just worse, since one can not wiggle or track to make sure that person coming to touch range gets hit?
But as said, I do not have idea at what balance point it is at all, so I am not denying possibility of it needing buff

I wish we could "lock" items to prevent accidentally selling them. Last season I accidentally vendored a really good bow while doing the old squire-swap to restock my arrows, and it felt AWFUL.

Related suggestion: locked items can only be brought into Arena, so that we can't accidentally lose them if somebody accidentally queues us for High Roller (especially since the queue is now usually too fast for anybody to cancel)

i really like continuous dungeon, mainly on crypts. goblin caves, a map with no extra floor, its a problem. going for boss objectives is absolutely nightmarish right now, the backfill time needs to be disabled for GC or severely limited, its an insane deathmatch

Instead of preventing players from fighting in the boss room more points of interest could be added to give people another place to flock to.

Defending an alchemy table/crafting station/forge for example, to craft high tier gear ONLY made in the dungeon etc.

There is SO MUCH possibility to add new objective in the dungeon. Like instead of removing the Expressman, make it an NPC that spawn randomly on the map or who roam the map. Make a Forge module where you can bring item + gem to do the same thing that the merchant do but here it's free and you can get the max roll. We have test servers, but I think it would be good to have testing grounds sooner than later. This would make it so much easier to catch bugs and experiment with new classes and mechanics.
A social hangout server is a lot more important than just hanging out in, we can have scrimmages and ultimately mess around with everything to see how the game works.
This would ultimately benefit both devs and players as you would not only be giving us a hangout space, but also receive free bug testing.

Maybe removing only Solo could be good. I know a lot of people play it but I feel like the essence of the game is to teamfight solo doesn't really fit in the game (Also it would force people to adapt and get used to playing with other player, talk, strategize with other. It could allow adding a new type of content that require people to cooperate, like wyvern was)

Nobody cares about what 'the costs of their servers are' over the product. That excuse doesn't fly when the state of the game is markedly reduced to the point where people just don't want to play. And I certainly don't.

If this exists in any way, it shouldn't allow you spawn remotely near someone, should never overfill a lobby, and should have the expressman and in-between waiting rooms.

I'd say it's terrible it allows spawns more than one minute in to be perfectly honest. There's really no reason to use this over just merging later maps with queued matchmaking.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want this too. I've figth against is since the first time they talked about it and accurately predicted every mistake they made with the Continuous dungeon. But if it's either that or no game anymore because they can't handle the server cost then give me continuous dungeon every day. But as I said, there is way to improve it, to make it less worst and the initial mistake was to push it live without using test server first

To be perfectly honest if it stays this way I'd expect the long term life of the game to suffer. This is pretty bad imo. I'm really enjoying the new class right now, but it's being constantly marred by the way spawns work, and that certainly drives people away.

And the main thing is, if they nerf how it works, it's going to just end up being... much the same. If say for example we can only spawn in during the first 2 minutes, that's no different to having a 2-minute long queue in-game lobby from the point of view of how many games it will create.

The way I see it, the issue with IM and DaD is not any 'flaws' in their game. It's that they keep circularly trying to fix those problems instead of focusing on content. The reason I have even returned this wipe is the significant content infusion that's in it. And usually when they add content, it's pretty good. I like their maps, and I like their classes, and I like their combat systems, regardless of how unbalanced they might be I can accept that because generally it's an asymmetrical class system etc.

With this wipe, an example is that they re-increased survivability.

This is not the first time they've reduced then increased it. They simply do not learn how people respond to what they do. They keep changing things for no reason. We just recently got +all back in, as well. Why? No one who has any sense of the game would tell you +all was healthy for the game. The only argument I can even see for it, that it improves the value of gear with +all vs gem-based gear.

I would bet you right now, they remove it within... two or three months? Again.

There's a lot of problems that are just emergent behaviour of the game, and those things, imo, are simply not problems. As a hypothetical comparison it's like realizing 20% of the players stop playing Elden Ring beacuse it's too hard. So? At a certain point that's just the cost of what you've made, and if you keep flip flopping you're just annoying the 80% who stayed for no reason, because you aren't going to get those 20% back, they're already gone because they've had a bad experience and most simply don't give things second chances.

Right now the system of going down, as far as I'm concerned is strictly worse. I didn't even want more players in the inferno. The inferno being this place that's not for pvp, but is for bossing or harder pve, that is destroyed because of the constant spawning on such a small map. That was emergent behaviour of it being mostly empty. They've made the most stressful maps more stressful by making it easier for them to be filled to the brim.

Agreed. That's why I hate that Time Distortion still exists. It encourages snap-casting strong spells for the head. I'd much rather sorcerer had to hunker down and do a good sequence of spells at the right time etc.

It's not as bad for wizards' snap cast, cause it's just the one. It's more of an emergency button.

Side effect of the ranged kiting meta, methinks. Makes me wonder what the overall player play rates, and their win-rates are like on Sorcerer. Wonder if we'll see it drop off in use? Personally, I love the idea of fantasy wizards, and almost never play the class because it just sucks to play. It's a class with several niche tricks but not a whole lot else. If you play sorc without distortion, it's actually really satisfying to me specifically because it's very slow at casting, damage-magic focused, and yet still capable of being played very well with its high skill ceiling, and has a decent amount of versatility with its spells. Wizard has an extreme skill ceiling, but it's baseline is worthless, and actively unpleasant imo.

Might not drop off, specifically because it's decent. Which will be a bad indictment of wizard.

Also wizard is another example of the same problem as cleric: all the buff magic in the game is pretty... awful to deal with. It's either worthless or too strong, there's never an in-between. Back when invis and haste were much stronger, like in PT4, wizard was oppressive if people knew how to play it. (But still not at all satisfying regarding the fantasy)

Well, to that I would retort - I play Druid. And the reason I play Druid is because once you get the muscle memory for transformation it just feels really good.
Druid is not actually very good. All it takes is game knowledge to beat it really, or at least survive it, and in teams you need support against some opponents. As a bear druid, I am essentially useless against a mage or ranger of any kind, unless I push them into a corner which is dependent on their skill being actively less than mine. Druid is really unmatched at escape, if anything, with only the fastest classes being able to keep pace unless you, again, get trapped somehow.

Dying a lot to players feels really bad. But bear doesn't die a whole lot. Neither does it necessarily win.

Gamefeel is a big part of these classes to me. I'm still learning sorc, and it just feels better than wizard. Am I actually doing all that well with it? No, not really. But it's fun to play around with.

I am actually decent with wizard - I am good with zap, at the end of the day -, and I would still much rather be using this than wizard.

For the record I think that losses are the most meaningless gold-wise they've ever been. There's lots of good loot to go around. And I think that's ultimately good. You can pretty reliably gear yourself compared to earlier versions, and I don't think it's just that I've gotten better. And that really helps avoid being very, very disheartened.

I think there's a real reason other than the skill-requirement that people don't play it. It is insufferable to all but a few people and doesn't reinforce its own class fantasy all that much.

The spell slots, the piddly spells, the focus on kiting and combat tricks... It all makes a decent class on paper. But I don't like using it, at the end of the day.

I like wizard and his fantasy, and i have my problem with the class but when i see players complaining about how bad is wizard is always things like "I cant kill this class", "i always die to this class", "this spell should deal more dmg", "my class have to recover spells and the other class have infinite ones" but for me those are not the problem of the class and when i think why other players perceive this so different i always end in PvP.

And when i watch a Dark and darker Stream i realize most of them are just walking the dungeon only looking for someone to fight. This game can't have clases designed out of PvP because is the most engaging things.

The way I see it, wizard has janky spell use limits. It does annoy me that a ranger can clearly use a hell of a lot arrows than wizard can use spells. I think it encourages wizard to not be allowed to use their magic anywhere but pvp, where it shines, but it makes the pve experience awful or simplistic. It's just bonk or magic missile, really.

I don't think its damage is a problem. And I think it is perfectly usable against the classes its supposed to be good against etc. It should have class counters.

Not just in terms of tactile moment-to-moment gameplay. It doesn't feel great to not be able to throw out spells against mobs, but that's not a gamefeel issue, it's a resource issue. If I remember rightly they were planning to add wands that wizards were specifically supposed to be good with as a sort of basic repeatable spell? Of course we don't know how much that's staying the design, if it will be used at all.

But that would probably fix it imo. If wizards were just allowed to use something at zap-level or a little less maybe to clear mobs without being rooted with an awkward MM barrage or forced to melee

Meanwhile if you're a sorcerer you get the positive gamefeel moment-to-moment of, say, swapping between elemental bolt/spear, the homing fire bolts, wind blast, lighting bolt, or whatever else, and the cool downs force you to flip between them and master a sequence. And there's no issue with the resource because there's obviously cooldowns. And you can move, and doing it right feels good.

I don't think they would do that, but it's an interesting idea. They've made it so Sorcerer is that, so it's set in stone. Regenerating mana or spell uses would be interesting.

It's not really the recovery time or the amount of uses you get to me, it's that you have to sit and recover them. Imagine if spells for wizard slowly recovered at the same rate as sitting with no campfire or something. That would still be very restrictive, it wouldn't be usable in a fight more than maybe once - But it would probably feel much better in pve because you could swap between your spells and use them to kill mobs without stopping, sitting etc.

If you make ppl pay for somthing you then give away from free, you inherently devalue their purchase. If you spent 30$ on somthing, then directly they just started handing it out for free, that in inherently cheating you on the behalf of the ppl who get it for free. Give even just a simple item skin to those who paid, like a unique potion skin, or player card, somthing to value those who supported you early and hard. If that's to much to ask then you and I hold such fundementaly different values their is no more point discussing it. If an indi studie doesn't support those who support them with cash, that is the most surefire way to collapse.

I will say this again. I think there should be an easier way to obtain rarer quality gems by yourself, without buying them or farming bosses. A way a lot of other games do it is with an upgrading system where it consumes lets say 3 of your lower quality gems to create one with a better rarity. Patch from this morning literally didnt fix any of the issues it claims to. Just escaped after killing Kight, full inventory of loot from pile, game gets locked up taking red. Get DC'd, lose all loot, and get leave early temp ban from loading in. all at once. and then can't force close app, and have to full restart pc. only to get hung launch like the patch from this morning describes to have fixed. Maybe it is, but I can't think of many other games where ranged classes are almost as strong as melee classes in melee, while also being deadly at range and being able to outrun melee classes(aka endless kiting) It seems to me, that it heavily favors ranged classes, even if you are "good" at melee. Since you don't lose the melee dmg or weapons from picking a ranged class, so almost no downside. Whereas if you pick melee, you can't do anything close to the damage of ranged classes with the limited ranged abilities you get

I just saw the darkest hour and they said monk is gonna be an easy class. I’m going to cry I am waiting for monk so much but I need it to be skillful , we already have barb, fighter that don’t need skill in melee, monk could be THE class which need skill in melee !! You can see the dungeons and dragons rulebook but it has reflect attack, great mobitlity and a lot more. You could have fighting stances you could have so much 😭😭

Hello, I watched the Darkest Hours stream and they talked about reintroducing the circle.!! (maybe)!!! If that should happen, I have a suggestion. I would like it if it wasn't there from the start. Instead, the players could start the circle themselves in a special room. And they need special items for that. My idea would be to give the bosses of Ruins and Crypt a heart that you can loot. But these hearts have to be fresh for the sacrifice. So you can't take them out with you. They have to be from this round. And you have to sacrifice them in the room, but you need one from Ruins and one from Crypt. And that would start the circle. And so that all players know that the circle is starting, there is an earthquake like in Goblins, as if the Crypt has come to life because of the sacrifice.! (why should players do that) to maybe open a special room that has something special in it, e.g. another special item that you can use in the third map... or just good loot etc...

I mean to be honest these things happen all the time. You don't have any idea how many games go on for free deals after someone buys them. All you can say is tough. It may not even have been Ironmace's Idea, it could have been Epic you don't know and your if you bought an apple yesterday and then today it was free, no I wouldn't feel gypped, I'd go get a free apple, which is something you could have done. Different platform and all. It isn't something you should be upset about because if anything it brings more people to the game, which means two things. More Timmies to loot, and more dungeon population. I don't see this as a bad thing and I bought the game back in June.

Yeah and it's like 1 or 2 day of progress anyway. Season last 3 month you have plenty of time. But I think the Expressman and Goblin merchant are good feature for those who can't play a lot. Maybe too powerful how they are/was tho. The goblin could only bring a few item picked randomly or that you need to "assure" for a few gold before the game. Expressman should be a NPC that roam the dungeon, hide in a module or wait near ONE of all the exit. You need to find him to secure your stuff

Make a Forge module, you can bring gear and gem there to do the same thing that the Socketing merchant except there it's free and you can get the max roll. Add a "Map" consumable that you find on the Skeleton corpse (not the mob the lootable skel on the ground), they reveal a part of the map, a important module (boss, hoard, gold key room etc) or the path to one module with an exit. (Like you find the map a dead adventurer started to make)

First floor bosses need to be easier IMO, nobody is doing them unless you have time to run it naked 100 times:

Nerf Banshee:

  • shorten gas ball phase,
  • slow ghosts so you can actually collect them,
  • Make it easier for teams to get all 8 stacks for scream somehow (usually one 1 person can get enough)
  • Make it so you can still hear mechanics for final scream with high stacks of ghosts, instead of having to fight with almost no sound and getting 1 tapped by missles or charge...

Nerf Spectral Knight:

  • Slow attack combos by a little bit. (some animations chain very fast and are hard to recognize unless you're very eye-trained from many perspectives.)
  • Fix low slash so it doesn't hit your feet when you jump as he slides forwards.
  • Fix high slash so it doesn't headshot you when you crouch (I believe it's slightly tilted downwards or just too punishing.)
  • Lower the middle raised platform to be flat with the rest of the field, because it makes top slash hit when crouched.
  • Fix Jump Slam to be slower and more counter-able. (if stuck in an attack animation, you're just boned)
  • Fix Ultimate slashes so crouch to Jump version is more doable (Too small of a time window to un-crouch and jump consistently.) — Often times you'll uncrouch and get headshot on a wide blade hitbox, or the time it takes to uncrouch into jump ends up hitting the feet. — This mechanic is either blocked with a shield or cheesed on the walls for this reason.

Buff Double boss treasure room:

  • The loot sucks
  • Add an inferno-level pile so there's a point to try for double boss.
  • Guarantee a legendary or above on a pedestal.

For boss rooms:

  • Add resurrection tables to the treasure rooms.

Maybe, but it took around 200 runs each between my buddy and I before we were confident enough to put gear on the line on HR. Being able to do it once in a few tries is not nearly enough to make it a viable way to play on HR

Why not just make staircases and portals like the drawbridge??? You have to spend some time opening them, allowing a third party if you do it at the wrong time, but your whole team should be able to leave at once. Then they can just close again after 30 seconds to allow someone else to use it, but still have to spend the time opening it

Sorcerer and wizard should have slightly overlapping spell pools. Give most if not all of the sorcerers base spells to Wizard. And give the elemental spells from the wizards pool to sorcerer. I don't think this would make the classes to similar. The sorcerer would still have access to the combined spells and wizard would still have all the utility spells. Not to mention their magic systems work differently from eachother.

Would be nice if the blue staircases continued to be more than single useage. Perhaps add a mechanicsm that one of the party has to pull or interact with for awhile to open the gateways giving people time to intercept a group. Either make it one time open for the full party, or repeatedly open and then once ANY 3 players have gone through the stairs collapse. My group really and I really dislike the escape mechanic currently since it heavily pushes you to betray team-mates to escape succesfully.

I wish we could "lock" items to prevent accidentally selling them.
Related suggestion: locked items can only be brought into Arena, so that we can't lose them if we accidentally queue for High Roller instead of Arena (especially since the queue is now usually too fast to cancel).

This is especially important when we're not able to just buy new Arena gear on the market. Imagine the frustration of losing your entire BIS arena kit that you found/crafted and enchanted, with no way to replace any of it through the market.

Only about 3 (or rather 2.5) of all the changes in this patch seem to be in-touch.. the '.5' being the panther: Yes, panther needed nerf, but only because of the recent buff to its damage; it already took enough damage - it just did too much after the last buff. Now, it deals too much dmg and takes too much.. just revert or lessen the buff instead of trying to balance it with a whole separate & excessive nerf.. you don't right a wrong by turning it into 2 wrongs.. don't overthink it, guys.

For the other two: Barb did need a nerf.. Cleric heals did need a nerf, & locust swarm spell on Cleric did need a buff. If I recall, all of the other changes & balancing seemed pretty out of touch.
Especially just after an unannounced rollback, I feel it was really important for this patch to not be mostly out of touch, and I'm concerned about the player-base's reaction. I think this is a very crucial time to think on/test changes & balancing more thoroughly before implementing them.

-A concerned fan of the game with nearly 1k hrs who wants nothing but to see it grow/do well and become the best it can be. Salute

I do not think the panther needed a nerf at all. From what I can tell the however you cut it the panther was just really good at killing backliners, and 150hp and mediocre pdr when in the very best of gear is really not impressive. They're not a threat to barbs, they're not a threat to fighters. They could not compare to dedicated melee classes - not even rogue when properly kitted because rogue has some of the best item-based scaling in the game. And yet mages and rangers get killed by panthers and assume that the reason they died is anything other than how the class is supposed to perform. That is literally its role, and it was never any good at anything else.

Tbh people just have this weird idea that because a panther looks different it must be op when it kills you.

Now panther is outright dead unless they revert this. I don't think it needed nerfed at all, but this situation is actively the end of the archetype unless they get their head out their asses and soften the blow by a huge amount. I don't even know why they're targetting pdr when they can increase the hp negative. Stacking negative armor and hp is multiplicatively bad. Why did they not simply slightly increase the hp negative back to where it was again if they thought the current value was too much? 40% is an insane negative, nearly double damage.

Clerics 3 lesser heals i am okay with. 1 sanc i have no understanding why. People are complaining constant reset but the only way that can happen is high tier mag heal or MPB change the curvature because Norms vs High roller gear are two completly different fights. The only other support healrr is druid. One restore casted on the floor is 3 for the entire team Druid gets 3 of those and they can be combo for bigger heals 😡 its basically lesser heal but stronger. Unlike clerics we are forced to sit in the open until we are distrub. Like A FIREBALL!/ or pushed. Cleric now have 1 druid have 2 mending grove. Besides that the starting stats for cleric vs druid druid always wins. Bear form. Evade. Can end the fight on its own terms. Cleric stats are nerf to the ground and we have no way of soloing. Druid entangle is also better then clerics bind.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm speaking from actual experience with fighting panthers when I say the dmg buff was excessive. Not based on how the panther looks?
The main example by which I formed this opinion was when I was playing arena as wizard, with 150 hp and ~ 38% pdr, and in the time it takes me to almost finish a spell cast at 70% spell casting spd, a druid can fly across the entire module and kill me in 3 attacks to the body which take about 2 seconds flat to land before I can barely finish the crystal sword pull-out animation much less get a single swing off. If they didn't have massively superior speed/mobility on every other class (not to mention a silence ability), I might be inclined to agree with your take.. but druid can fly across the entire module in barely 2 seconds, and land 3 body shots for 50 + dmg each in ~ 2 seconds thru almost 40% pdr... That is a bit excessive in my opinion, but to each their own.

Druid has alternative mobility options. They can still panther jump, which is still good. They can still rat-form and be extremely hard to hit with projectiles. But exploitative jumping fly mechanics should not be in the game. Especially not in a situation where you'd rather ruin the class than not remove it.

Yeah, my thinking that cleric heals needed nerfs definitely does not mean I think that druid heals aren't also a bit excessive. As usual, I think they nerfed the wrong aspect of the heals. How about healing amount/speed instead of spell charge amount. That's what I had in mind as I awaited the nerf for a while now, and then of course they find the more annoying/roundabout way to do it that I hadn't even considered.

They should make all classes have spell cooldowns and completely do away with spell charges. Having to sit down is not engaging or fun in any sort of way. This would also solve the issues that cleric has with the speed of the classes heals, as instead of being able to burst heal 7 times now, the heals would be staggered with cooldowns.

unfortunately the devs have already said the chicken-jump-tech was intended, therefore other parts should be nerfed. their mobility is too insane to be tanky and do insane damage, not to mention they can heal to full once they freely reset due to their shapeshift/movement

Hopefully they're not doing that, especially after reducing the amount of exit, longer game would mean even less exit. The real field or action they have is reducing the time limite of people joining a game to 3-4 min max after the beginning of the game and probably reduce the max number of team per floor by 1. The dev's opinion has, at times, been obviously wrong, and they have rescinded it. Now is one of those times where they should be listening and realizing this whole situation has come out of their chicken jump tech. Just saying 'they said it, so this is how it should be' doesn't cut it when it's just bad game design. Removing their dps would not be good either, because panther is strictly a dps class. There's no way to target the core stats of the class other than movement that fixes how good they are strictly due to their mobility. The issue is only the mobility and only because of a clear exploit that makes no rational sense and feels gamey as hell.

I don't like continuous dungeon in general, and I think it should be removed because it ruins the feeling of a continuous experience in a lobby, where what you do in one floor matters on the next floor.

But if that's not an option then player refill should stop 5 minutes into a map. Reds and blues should open 8 minutes into a map. Expressman should make a return. We've lost the feeling of progressing down slowly, and it's made lower floors less special.

There are no situations where you should be able to spawn into empty dungeons, with exits seemingly all taken, as I just did. I completely agree it should be removed.

Beyond that, refilling the bottom-layer maps is simply not as desirable as they thought it was imo. They're better emptier so there is less constant competition over bossing. And better when they were more to do with the challenge of the PvE side of the game than the PvP.

When I played with friends, they hated the health loss with each attack, which often caused our team to lose many fights. The other thing is that Cleric has a similar spell but without drawbacks, making theirs much better.

Suggestions:

  • I propose playing around with numbers as a lazy buff for this spell.
  • But there is also idea of a warlock community, how about changing it a bit: when a player hits a target with a weapon, they regain the health lost during the initial swing plus a small bonus (+1 health).

What do you think about these adjustments?

because at some point all the market will be over priced and you see that so you list it slightly below them to fast sell but the thing is you are still overpriced and all the buyers wont buy and waiting for it to come back to normal
but there is no communication in the first place between the seller and the buyer and that is a mistake that if fixed the whole market issue will be solved and everyone will come out satisified
even that item avg selling price can be also displayed for the buyers so there is a common ground both of us can be our method of communication

wow its a good thing I got decent enough to be able to hold my own in PvP.. because with this stupid continuous dungeon bullshit, I'm getting 1 or 2 kills a match, and then being unable to do anything else but leave. Such a great change from when I first started playing, last wipe, where I entered a dungeon with a goal: Quest, PvP, or just have fun, and wouldn't know what to expect.
Not now though! Thanks to SDF's vision, I'm forced to PvP no matter what. (either the game starts and the whole dungeon is looted already, or its brand new, and that just means I'm about to get third partied)

  • If the devs want a deathmatch mode, they could just use ruins or map rotation for it, like ruins, crypts, and goblins with infinite extractions it would be mostly just for fighting. The way it is now it's not dungeon crawler as SDF promised it's deathmatch.
  • They should bring back the old system(of couse without map rotation) for normals.
  • For high roller, I wish they would try bring back the "death circle", and maybe also random portals to make it really feel like hardcore mode, with awesome loot as a reward.
  • Arena should stay.

Also, I think ruins should be separated from crypts, because everyone rushes to the crypts, and it's just a much better map compared to the ruins.

Recently, I was thinking about the worst Warlock skill: "Dark Offering".

Dark Offering: Channel your mind for up to 10s, sacrificing 10% Max Health per second to gain 5% Physical Power Bonus and 5% Magical Power Bonus per stack, up to 10 stacks. This bonus lasts for 15s.

This skill prevents the player from moving during the charge and drains an insane amount of health, while buff lasts only 15 seconds.
Currently, this skill only works if you stack a lot of buff duration to extend its effect, ensuring the buff doesn't run out, allowing you to continue charging it again.

I've done some research online about different ideas and came up with a new version of it:
This skill should be activation-based, and the player should be able to move after its activation, making it similar to the Blood Pact mechanic.
(I know making things similar to each other is bad but this is the only change the rest are just numbers that require balancing.)

I would reduce the health sacrificed by the player, and they also gain more stacks with each tick.
The maximum number of stacks a player can achieve is 666, which Provides them with a 33% bonus to magic and physical damage.

  • prototype:
    After activation, 2% of the player’s max health is sacrificed to gain 10 stacks per second. Each stack grants a 0.05% bonus to magic and physical damage.
    After 66.6 seconds, the player would consume 133.2% of their health and should reach 666 stacks, which grants them a 33% bonus to magic and physical damage.

when are we having druid nerf bro, this aint even fun. 250 hp and 50 prc dmg reduction, unlimited heals, abilty to leave combat any time and fly accross the map, even if he doesn't care and do bad moves he still gets to live. 330 ms in panther form, hits like a truck in any of its fighting forms. Warlock's Immortal Lament seems underused it might need some kind of buff to make it worth taking.

Here are some good suggestions from LLMs:

It is propabbly the biggest reason why this spell is not used as often. Buffing should happen before the fight but if warlock player is planning to play around dark magic shards they will not use this spell. It also has intresting passive that perfectly synergizes with other dark magical damage spells. Maybe "Dark Offering" should also synergize with them as the name suggests? Half the dark magic damage spell costs during its duration?

I can't find a single boss without seeing at least 2 other teams, and usually more. This is a terrible direction for things to go, and spawning in with barely 10 min left to search for a boss that might not be up is stupid, especially in crypts, since the boss isn't centralized and there is no possible clue to find it; any quest in crypts is a huge time sink with risks that often outweigh any potential gain. I can't wait until they role back this half baked idea of a patch with dungeons. It doesn't make sense to go from a 4x4 to a 5x5 with a fog of war and then change the timer from ~10 minutes to a range from 10-16. Crypts should have a range of like 15-20 min with both bosses spawning just like ruins has 2 bosses spawn. Sure, make them random with fog of war to dial back the pvp congregation, but maybe keep them off the edges or corners or something. As of right now, I think I literally have to step away from the game, because I can't have fun, which learning bosses used to be a fun challenge! Now all bossing (if you even get to do that ) is JUST pvp, sometimes while the boss changes aggro every few secs. This is infuriating enough that I have to tell somebody. There's literally no reason to play this game right now except pvp, despite the mid gameplay of arena, which, thankfully, at least pulls some of the toxic playerbase out of the dungeons' griefer pool, but I digress. Something has to be done about the bosses always being a hot spot so big that there is never time to actually fight the boss, let alone have new people learn the boss. Even Banshee consistently had 3 or4 parties tonight; what valuable does she even drop? Nothing that isn't better farmed through froststone ore or even gold ore! There aren't even any quests to kill any bosses, yet. By far, this is my biggest concern this season. Also would love to see gingerbread cookies pop up more than 1/10 games. Otherwise, this is a great game and I can't wait to see how it blossoms.

Does anyone else agree with the fact that the gear buyback from gobbo should be available for a lot longer than 1 freakin hour...? Say i die on my last game and have to leave. I was wearing a really good kit and die to a mob or some other silly thing and i am pretty much guaranteed to get my kit back but i cant get back on until the day after or even just a couple hours later. That kit is now gone. Why not have it like tarkov where you get like 24 hours to claim it back?

That is true and i could simply plan to only use my good kits when i have the time to sit and wait after the match to claim anything not taken. But if i am forced to only use good kits when i have the time to wait afterwards then i dont have many games where i can actually use my good gear because i work alot and dont have much time to play. Then i have to use "throwaway" kits against gigachad twitch streamers and i die 7/10 runs because i cant use good gear. There is a bit of gear fear to that i know. But if i spent 5000 gold on a kit i want every chance to get it or parts of it back if i were to die.

Imo, it's more that this feature was not there since the start, IM see it as something that make the game way easier and don't want to make it too strong. Their goal is to make you play the game as much as possible, dying and losing a kit, having to re farm gear etc may be the thing that take the most time and "force" you to play the most. Goblin merchant help a lot on that and can save you a lot of hours farming for new gear. It come with some issues too and imo a good middle ground would be : you have 12 or 24h to get your gear back, but even if you'r not looted you don't get everything back, each piece have a 15-25% chance to be lost. Or you need to pay a small told amoun to save a piece of gear at 100% if it's not looted

  • Warlock dark enhancement is underused maybe it needs to be buffed to 14%? At least I would rather choose soul collector's 20% dark shard per kill, that also can make my spell double the damage when fully stacked.
  • Also malice is kinda weak, people don't realise but it most of the time gives you 3 will which is nothing. Will on warlock mostly affects his magic resist not magic power bonus, I had 60 m.p.b .this week and did 20 damage at the head of fighter. At 50 will which is really hard to get you get 5 additional will. People only equip it becouse other youtubers/steamers use thinking it is good and that's how plague is spreading. Maybe it also need some kind of buff idk? As long it is popular, avarage warlock is always weaker than smart one.
  • By the way hydra deals dark magic damage when you place it it doesn't consume the dark shard which makes her stronger.
  • Hellfire is chaining direction when colliding with solid objects which your teams is propably aware of. When it's casted point blank at the object, it can sometimes ricochet 180 degress at the caster.
  • Warlock spell costs is incorrectly displayed.
  • I think you should show some love to Wizards, I see no wizards in game espesially after magic resist curve buff. Maybe they should receive some magic penetration buff on some perk to make their class always deal damage?

  • Classes got their health back thus Torture Mastery attribute bonus ratio should be nerfed to 10%, in my opinion it was perfect back than. Also life drain with hydra (Hydrain) should receive a buff so it playable again.
  • There is also another problem with Hydrain that Life drain is a Tier 4 spell for some reason even tho its only used to heal on hydra. Back than it used to be hard for a player to heal but after potions, bandages and surgical kit buffs it became so easy for every class. Maybe life drain should be Tier 2 or 3 spell now because to play hydrain you need to get more knowladge to use other spells?

I just got one tapped by longbow multishot from 120HP to 0. Seems balanced. Multishot damage should scale with a percentage of the target's maximum health based on the number of arrows that hit. For example, 15% of max health per arrow hit, making sure they can't one shot a target. This might be hard to program. So how about making it so that longbow has 3 arrows, recurve 4, survival 5.

Requiring different skills =/= lowest skill cap, BUT I agree you've got no real choice in mechanics, you can either be fast and fragile or slow and tanky, then pick your flavour of thwack stick which doesnt really affect much.

Barbs need their perks and skills seriously overhauled, cuz they literally all just give stats, or stats with extra steps. I think the only really interesting ability they have is savage shout since it has a PVE and PVP utility in 1 ability.

Is there any talk about the lantern or other off-hand items possibly given the ability to be used in the main hand slot as well? I think off-hand melees like hatchet and short sword could use a little added spice. It would help off hand weapons feel a little bit more dynamic and enjoyable other than simply being forced along into a dual wield playstyle or completely neglected otherwise.

Warlock has some dark magic damage spells. What dark magic does? absolutely nothing. It only specifies what spells will be buffed by equipping Dark Enhancement, or Soul Collector. Why not make it so that there is some small anti heal debuff when spell hits the target? 15% for 4seconds? As an Evil character I think this would be fitting debuff for Warlock's dark magic damage spells. But it is very similar(besides stacking) to rogue's poison so maybe different debuff is needed.

Revert it back to the escape/down portals towards the end of a round rather than this going down 2 seconds into the round bs. The current state of the game is just pure heaven for all the people farming to sell for real money. You can essentially skip all pvp and reliably farm bosses, mini bosses, gold piles etc etc.

If races that are unable to wear helmets were given a boost to reduce headshots, more than just the current low percentage, that would be awesome. Since many of those races aren't even being used very often anymore, atleast from what I've noticed, I think there is a significant trade-off.

Fix combat, add more move options to melee fighters, finish training already, add more perks/spells to all classes before adding more, just make the questing and merchants more streamlined like tarkov if you're going to rip it off and add actual tiers for meaningful progress with the merchants. Add more options to melee means actual options per swing. Not a static left click combo and a single right click alternative strike

Players are complaining how hard it is to make a boss without being interrupted. Maybe doors to the boss should be automatically closed when boss fight starts while only player inside can open them. After killing a boss blue portal appears and 5seconds later doors can be opened again. I think players would love this change, but I think it's also a bad idea if you would have to wait or go to the next game if someone took the boss.

Warlock Manifesto-

Fix rays knowledge scaling and give it a debuff. Increase base scaling to allow viability in endgame
Change Bloodstained blades buff to magical weapon damage instead of base weapon damage in order to benefit from high will+synergise with class abilities better. Maybe lower amount dmg gained to balance.
Rework dark enhancement perk and make it similar to other caster classes school perks, I.E. introducing new mechanics for the affected spells
Combine Demon Form and current Dark Offering and rework its healing. For every second in demon form, gain one stack of dark offering, giving equivalent or lessened buffs. Health decay can be like .5% for every stack or something. This will extend demon uptime and viability. Healing should be reworked if they plan on sticking to warlock being locked to slow weapons. A change can be lifesteal, while in demon or with the ability active You heal 30% of damage you do(can be restricted solely to melee maybe for balancing). Consider giving wings functionality, maybe reduce player gravity similar to sorc’s levitation. Maybe give demon form mastery perk allowing faster activation and doubling effects of darkness shards on form.
Completely rework Dark offering where you gain permanent buffs(demon flavoring) in exchange for permanently reserving health, strength of buffs scale with amount of reserved hp. Reserved hp cannot be restored in any way. Maybe resets with going down a floor and maybe cap max hp reservation to like 50-75%.

  • This would allow for something other than the longsword to be viable(fuck the longsword).

  • Revert the panther damage changes. He still can jump easily only casters and kill them without any problems. And no one can escape them becouse they are faster in this form.
  • Nerf bard movespeed. I don't know what makes them fast but it was always the problem that they can wear stuff and still be faster than the naked guy.

The luck modifier in Dark and Darker appears broken for hunting loot drop tables. While it seems to function for chests and treasure piles, it has no effect on the quality or rarity of items obtained from mobs. Stacking luck shows no improvement for hunting-specific drops, indicating this mechanic is not working as intended. Please fix it before Blythar is added.

The pickaxe should be the universal tool for any class to break the ice walls within Ice Caverns and the Abyss. Currently certain classes have genuinely no way to break that ice and as such are SOL on any loot that may be hidden behind them. Give pickaxe max impact power so no matter your build you always have an option to smash the ice.

reduce the server Queues, normals or high roller for each map, no more 0-25, 25-125, 125-250, 250+ anymore or whatever it is just make normals 0-250 and high roller 250+. it will remove dead maps which ruined the buzz for me along with the circle being removed basicly means there is no chance of forced fights which was always an electric stressful feeling. too many times now where i would rather just play 0-25 with basic squire gear so i can find other players, in highroller or anything higher then 125+ gear score just feels like campaign mode. yall have made the noobs happy but killed what made this game special to me. It should't be possible to parry a swing that already hit and did dmg.... you can hit the enemy, and the same swing can lead to a block/parry a couple of frames later, that shouldnt be possible, makes longsword just wayyyy too easy

I don't know the reason for buffing all the classes since the SDF vision. Was it to increase class identity or make Arena more engaging? By doing so, however, you've widened the gap between classes so much that it's nearly impossible for one to compete with another. In 90% of cases, the stronger class simply wins. There's no room for skill expression—just plain stats and poor balancing. Surely new players will stay after finding out they can't win with 200hp, 40%pdr, 40%mdr, 320ms with press of a button Barb. It has reached the point where barbs are using the Horseman's Axe all the time because there's no risk of them losing.

There needs to be a clearer distinction between dungeon levels... IMO make all top mobs white, 2nd floor all Elite, 3rd floor all Nightmare. - it would be more understandable for new players than running into nightmares on floor 1...

The classes with the ability to silence other classes just nullifies classes like Wizard being able to play the game at all, once you get silenced you are dead because you are not out running the rogue with higher movespeed than you. To be honest, I think the game would be in a much better spot if the rogue, bard and druid's ability to silence an entire playstyle is removed altogether, I tried to think of some ways to make it better, but it just straight up feels bad to die to a class that you can't see because of invisibility, can't outrun because of higher movespeed and when they are on top of you then you can't even fight back because of silence.

My suggestion doesn't make this game easier, it actually makes the hardest part of the game HARDER... I mentioned, you can do:

Normals (where average players go) : 1st = White, 2nd = Elite, 3rd = Nightmare... They can choose the difficulty that suits their skills.

High Roller: 1st = Elites, 2nd = Nightmares, 3rd = Even Harder Version of Mobs (Level 4 mobsHell?), or add in some super-elites or minnions.

Then in High-level HR raids (5-mans, 10-mans) you can add in Inferno difficulty mobs (level 5 mobs) potentially. — This would add coherence to the tiered dungeon system.

Right now the game is TOO easy for the high-end players, and TOO hard for the new players (mainly because of the uneven progression of difficulty of mobs, lack of tutorials, and gear bracket skill jumps... There are too big of jumps and hurdles where they just quit cause they don't see themselves getting to that level in a reasonable amount of time.)

Rangers with longbows and recurves are not that of a big problem if you know how to play, bait their shots and dodge. Against good rangers such tactics are harder to perform 😅.

It used to be that you could bait rogue invis. But now he is invis 24/7 so you just never push him unless you want to die.
IM should nerf ambush or invis or do something so it is easier to hear rogue.
It's the easiest play style in the game similar to ranger traps that were nerfed.

Silence is powerful, but does it need to be removed?

Arena is best for new players that don't know how to pvp. So it's good that they can play with no gear.
I don't know what psychopath would play arena alone without friends but If that happens, the system ought to find teammates with a similar gear score, ensuring the enemy team also consists of random players with comparable gear scores.
When I say 'ought to,' I mean that it likely doesn't work this way currently, but it should.

I would like to expand on the topic of malice why it needs a buff.

  • With addition of Dark Elf skin you get 1 will which is 33% of malice which shows how weak malice is currently.
  • Frost Walker skin gives 3 max health which is better than 3 will in my opinion.
  • Barbarian Robust also gives 10% stat buff but health with is equal to 14HP. HP is the best stat in the game and Barbarian gets 14 of it.
  • White mystic vestments gives 3 will but to get 14 health you need unique adventurer tunic with vigor.
  • Mage's Sage buffs also 10% of a stat but knowledge. Wizards have more base knowledge than Warlocks have Will, but it also just gives them most of the time 3 or 4 knowledge with this perk equipped, maybe it also needs a small buff?

I was thinking about the old, removed Warlock spell 'Evil Eye.' I’d like it reworked it into a trap. You know maybe you could place three traps that lasts for 3 minutes, that either have an effect or reveal an enemy. However, I’m not sure if the Warlock is the right class for magical traps. Maybe a different class could benefit from such a spell. Or two classes having two different versions of it.

Bard is OP and has basically no counters. they need reduced health or need to be affected by knockback with iron will again. There just in no counter play to that class its insane. Also lets not forget that their base HP was unaffected when they reduced the total HP of all other classes.

Banshee boss fight adjustment idea to smooth out the ghost collection and fighting her as duo/trio:

  1. Ghosts no longer drop from you unless purged by scream
  2. At max stacks (8) Banshee is revealed to you during her invisibility dash.
    -this makes 5-7 the most dangerous spirit stacks as she is still invisible and you can hear very little
  3. Every spirit collected after 8 silences you for 5 seconds (stacking)

Unique quest items/unique quest interactions would make questing more engaging and exciting instead of just taking basic loot items out of the dungeon or walking into a location. for example, after completing the Alchemist quest "Hidden Within," the Alchemist states "The rumors were true all along...and you brought a book back as well?! Give me some time to study this text," even though the player did not bring anything back from the library, we just walked through it and looted basic treasure items. kinda lame. This is only one example but im sure there are more quests like this that elude to the player embarking on a grander adventure in the dungeon to uncover a mystery, but then fall short because all the quest requires is that you walk in and out of the room.

Sorcerers should be able to wield one-handed weapons, such as a falchion, while still casting spells with their off-hand. Currently, this isn't possible unless holding a crystal ball. One of the key aspects of this class is the ability to cast spells with an empty hand, so it doesn't make sense why casting with a weapon in one hand and using the other hand for spellcasting requires a crystal ball. hot take, but i think keys shouldn't be worth 10s of thousands of gold. make the keys a higher drop rate and worth 0 gold or untradeable. this would allow those key items to be used for content and not for money placeholders. also you could give the keys 1-3 uses so that we see more traffic from players going to these areas. i just feel like its content that 99% of players dont touch because its generally better to just sell the item

We have a lot of skills/perks/spells in the game that are barely ever used. I think we would benefit a lot if some of them were less OP and others more viable so we could have more build variety without playing at a big disadvantage.

Yes there were lots of dumb buffing since introduction of SDF vision patch 69. And they didn't revoke all those decisions but I think they will. It was as if SDF fired balance team and he decided to balance game by himself doing same mistakes as the balance team before.

Make Slayer work with 2 handed weapons, for fun.

Combine Defense Mastery and Projectile Resist, add a 50% Slow resistance/reduction.

Remove Weapon Mastery, just give fighters everything EXCEPT Rapier, Rondel, Longbow, and Survival Bow.

Give fighters a new 2H weapon spec perk that gives +10% AS with two handed weapons

Give fighters a new frontliner perk that give them +10% hit slow when attacking from behind

and let us wear funny hats instead of being stuck with leather caps if we go slayer. Letting us wear the Chaperon, Leather Bonnet, Feathered Hat, and the Straw Hat would be historically accurate.
