SUGGESTION - bring back duo's ruins
I think for me, I'd like them to have the queues as such:
Normals are level 1-19 for learning the game. Players can only join HC at level 20. This means normals are only for learning. No gear cap, but you also cannot access the market or trading until level 20 so the gear is completely based on vendors and gear found.
Level 20 onward is HC only.
It then has a 30 minute dual rotation for maps.
e.g. Goblin Caves and Ruins are available for 30 mins,
Then Ruins and Ice Caverns,
Then Ice Caverns and Goblin Caves,
Then Goblin Caves and Ruins again.
This now brings us to down to six level 20 queues, the same as on the old rotation. But now, maps are available for an hour, and unavailable for 30 minutes.
Alternatively they could keep the 1 map 30 minute rotation, but have each group size on a different part of the rotation. This means the map is available to a different group 100% of the time (e.g. if duos has ruins, solos may have ice cavern and trios has goblin caves for 30 mins) so you can bounce between team sizes if you really want.
This also brings it down to 3 total queues, which would be the most concentrated queue option
This would be even more placating if they did introduce matchmaking for teams, as people could stick to the map they like with pick up groups (not something I'd personally trust, but hey, it's an option)
Either way, it's a way to have 3-6 queues while having each map 100% available
they only gave map choice a day before removing it, not everyone plays everyday
Map selection is horrible. Huge drawbacks and takes the choice away from the players. If you have a prefered map with a prefered party size. Really makes me not want to play and if they don't revert to the previous method where you can pick any map for every party size I will not be playing next season and will no longer promote this game to friends and others.
tbh they created this issue by introducing free map selection. They should have left it at rotation so people didn't have unrealistic expectations
Free map selection is something they should introduce if the playerbase remains consistently large enough for it. They should not have even tested it at the current concurrent player count
At 9000 concurrent players, that's 500 players per queue (9 normal queues, 9 high roller). If a match is, on average, 20 minutes long, that means by distribution between an 18 minute game and 2 minute lobby, there will be 450 in game, and 50 in a lobby at any one time.
This means 50 people can join a solo queue over a 2 minute period
25 teams can join duos (2 lobbies) over a 2 minute period
or 16 teams can join a trio over a 2 minute period
That all sounds just about doable.
Except now, let's split that down by 10 different timezone'd servers
5 people in solos
2.5 teams in duos
1.6 teams in trios
And we're talking about their peak times
We're also not accounting for Ruins lasting longer than 20 minutes via delving, requiring 2-3x the time
Oh, and it's assuming all maps, group sizes and servers have an absolutely equal distribution of players
I honestly don't know how free map selection even happened
To clarify, rotation multiplies these lobbies by 3 (again, at peak times)
So we're looking at 15 in solos, 7.5 teams in duos and almost 5 teams in trios
So even with the most limited map rotation previously used, 9,000 was barely scraping by
This game is epic, I hope the player base grows enough soon for map of choice to be viable. Here's to the future sucess of this game so that they can adress these issue.
thats nice an all but in the end i had no problems with it, some matches had a few people/teams and some were full, it was nice.
I'd say have the rotations in, make normals for levels 1-19 only and make the client able to handle free map selection and other method of map selection too.
Then make it so the method of selection can be altered per server and on a server-side basis (e.g. no patch required)
This way they can give the best queue method to each server and update it easily without patches
they could fix the problem by making it the original rotation system and having shorter timer for rotations tbh
Maybe rotaion for normals free choice for HR?
peak hours? free selection, otherwise rotation
Low pop server? rotation
etc
Someone mentioned the issue for that is if it's too short then people skip the map entirely, resulting in the same overall issue
It was viable, missing 1 team does not greatly affect the map. Especially on something like ice map where pvp is rare even with a fully lobby.
Also all queues are not equal, and this could be an experiment for steam release.
i mean if people dont wanna play a certain map, maybe something is wrong with it
The real solution to rotation is making each map equally appealing

That is core the of it really. But forcing people to play maps that arent up to snuff from their perspective is going to make them hate the map for when they can finally free-select the map

True. But so long as people can arbitrarily have a favourite, it won't matter how equal the maps are. They'll still complain unfortunately.
Is the splash art for the classes gonna return? or maybe have a toggle for it. I kinda like it better than the 3D models

Honestly its good for the amount of players, Having Ruins always available for 3s if they wanna boss and then they can goof around in the other maps if they want too

i can agree, this new rotation update kinda killed the vibe for me, im teaching some new guys how to play and weve been doing goblin cave trios havong a great time, we can do them when the rotation hits but none of us want to wait 30 plus minutes for the rotation, the way it was set yesterday was perfect, can we please go back to what we had before??
its their cheap way of "fixing latency issues" having less map instances going at the same time
i love this game and the devs and how much work theyve been putting into the game the constant updates really shows their dedication to this game, i can understand needing a fix to latency issues but come on guys, please just give us our normal rotation back it was perfect and i know these guys are smart enough to fix the latency issues but itll prob be a few weeks \
Remove the whole patch, rotation has never and will never be a good idea. Marketplace is bug central
Everyone understands they did map rotation to help fix latency, if its that bad you need some type of steam support. Doing a game platform and game alone has proven way too difficult for them
They did it for queue times.

I wanted a +magic healing casting item. I wanted it to be a mainhand tho, so it was a casting item that allowed an off-hand (with left click being used to cast)
Something like a Censer lantern, while being able to hold a shield and defend between casts. Seemed like peak healer
I could see that but cleric needs a item like crystal ball in my opinion

I think it being a +healing base casting item is good. Not sure if it should have something else to distinguish itself from ball and spellbook just to make it a bit more unique.
I imagine it also needs to be applicable to at least 2 classes. So probably something that themnatically a warlock would use too (+healing ofc being their jam too)
I was think that if a warlock uses a cross is would make him take more damage on cast
tbh with a warlock I'd worry about them not using the ball anymore
since god would be punishing him for use one of his idols

cleric needs a unique item to be honest he has no speical items and is the least uniquely buildable class

I only say a cross since this is like 900 the holy cross would be everwhere and I dont have anything agaisnt a druid sharing it
Oh yeah, it's just I don't see where a druid would get power from a Cross from. While an Ankh is just a symbol of life and rebirth.

Not necessarily just christianity, plus visually an off-hand spilling smoke to the floor would look neat (or maybe it just smokes on cast)
The point is that it was a terrible idea to do on a holiday, especially before patches they KNOW they will need a hotfix. 3 people isnt sufficient to fix the current issues thats why everyones angry lmao

I'm not against the cross, just that it would probably need to be unique as you mention. Though back to the Warlock, maybe a Perk that allows them to use it (no downside, they just need to use a perk). Then they literally just hold it upsidedown

They’re going to put an actual boss where the loot pile currently is. That or when they add a down level there will be. Supposedly it’s an ice dragon

Personally I do not mind a map rotation nor do I mind a choice. However I have thought of an okay solution. Rather than lock people out of maps, have an incentive to play the current one on rotation by having an AP multiplier. That way if someone wants to play on a specific map but its not the current rotation, they still can. It incentives the grinders to play on the rotated map. Or could even by mean about it and have it so if its not the rotation you only get 75% of earned AP so it not even profitable to do the non selected map at a Higher rank
Just as a reminder the game is still unplayable while "rotations" are like this. Nobody wants to be locked to one map. Undo this foolish decision. Either go back to rotation or go back to selection. This is not a "hybrid" it's just a hard lock on usability. @keen onyx @dawn grotto
If you want a real hybrid system, revert the game to full selection mode, and then add a random quickplay system separately (that joins the same lobbies, but gives everyone who uses it 50 luck or something minorly beneficial for using it) to level out usage of all three maps.
The main issue with the current rotation is that you don't always have a rotation.
The previous rotation always had something for each party size.
The current rotation is "We are currently on Trio Ice Caves, if you want a Duo map at all, come back in an hour"
It's ironically worse for lobbies too, as people need to go an check to see if they are even able to queue the rotation at all. And if not, it increases the odds they'll just log off, and maybe just miss their rotation entirely
I am willing to tolerate this foolishness until the season changes, at most, but as soon as I need to do quests on the other maps I will stop playing. Because you've done this, ranged-focused classes cannot use the ranged-focus solo map, the ruins to actually get gear solo, being forced into closer quarters with melee characters. And no one but trios can do ruins or inferno quests.
Furthermore, I play duos mostly. The ice caves is without a doubt one of the hardest maps which has an extreme pve focus. It's a lovely map. But do you think I want to play it exclusively? No.
Remove the rotation.
Reverse it to where anyone could pick any map.
The main argument to bring back map rotation is that theirs "not enought players,and people just farm dead lobbys".Which for one wasnt my experience,in every map,my lobbys where filled to the brim.Secondly,if people are PURPOSELY AVOIDING A MAP,maybe make the god darn map interesting,instead of force feeding it to your players?
Personally I got the good end of the stick,as idm gobbo caves that much,but now,duoing with my buddys is impossible since the worst map of the roaster is perma duo now.

Change the rotation map queue to 10 minutes

We need more space for more loot. Preferably (imo) they would come in different sizes and would be able to be found like normal gear. Satchels for example could be an uncommon, low storage, high value item. Might encourage pvp like capes do. Maybe you could craft bigger bags.
Make the rotation shorter, easy fix.
Are they going to give more time to reach demigod? So many roll backs, so many bugs, anouncing demigod rewards 29 days before season ends without saying there would be rewards on demigod ranks all that time before, feels kind of unfair, I got pathfinde at the beggining of the season and stopped tryharding loot because I didnt know there would be more rewards on higher rewards.
Remove the map rotations and bring back last patch's pick any map option. Its unfair to players who dont have teams to play with to now have to deal with trios and duos just to complete their quests

Same thing happened to me earlier, my experience with this game so far is that if you don't play the overpowered things, you just lose to it. There balance is that far off that if you even think about playing offmeta you will flail until some sweat lord runs you down with a pdr melee or mage in solo's.

add more portals to goblin caves again, I understand decreasing the amount to get people to not team as much, but the fact that even after killing half the lobby and not being able to get a portal is kinda really annoying, I've already lost 4 kits to this and the cons to having so little portals heavily outway the pros, it doesnt even effect how much people team anyways i was just going 1v4 against people with rubysilver and even gold gear
Better it's somewhat easy to get than impossible. Still probably shouldn't exist in general though. +6 all is just way too strong.

You cannot in fact choose what you want to play. Solos GC only, Duos Ice Cave, Trios ruins. Then there's ONE rotation.

I think the previous rotation was better than what we have now. I do not think that being forced to play one map as per your party size is the ideal way to enjoy the game.

warlocks use falchions commonly u cant just completly strike that stat away and if you mean only for yourself then BIS would become the norm and that really wouldnt be fun. imagine a rouge can always get +weapon dmg +true physical dmg on a blue dagger. THAT WOULD BE BUSTED AS HELL. he will do falchion dmg on a dagger

Is there any plans for V-Sync or some alternatives? I am getting Screen tearing and only in this game I can't overide it. Why is there so little graphic options.
I think a rotation of maps could work if it rotated every 20 minutes and it would be 2 solo maps, 2 duo maps, and 2 trio maps and they rotate to cover Ice Caves, Goblin Caves, and Ruins. E.g. One rotation it would be GC and IC solo, IC and Ruin Duo, and Ruin and Gc trios and after 20 minutes it could rotate to IC + Ruins Solo, Ruins + GC duo and Gc + Ic trios, and so on. It would effectively double the servers they would need to keep up but also make it so there was more map choice and hopefully matchmaking wouldn’t be completely empty compared to there being Solo duo and trio for every map like last last patch
Instead of map rotate make us rotate classes
Add a que system similar to league of legends or plenty of other games where you select a map wait till lobby fills and then go in. Some maps might take a while but its better then the current map rotation/no choice system now.
I'm over this season, to many changes. Was hoping to at least grind to Voyager for the shiny but on top of reworking portals, the bloody maps aren't even the same. Would rather solo-trio than solo goblin caves (there goes both solo & trio rankings) and trios have gotten ridiculous, Ruins is obv. the fan favorite. Does anyone even look at the rotation que now out of curiosity? Point is I had more fun at the start of this season to about a week and a half ago, now I just hate queuing up cause I know I'm in for some fuck shit.
Also please for the love of god add ping/fps counters so I know how soon I need to dodge skellies from scratching my chestpiece for 3/4ths my health. How about a death recap if you're feeling frisky. Maybe an arena/training ground area to test out gear and perk combos? Would rather have all of this than a new map and a fucked up rotation.
Cringe. no. Bring back old GC map. It could be a bit bigger than 9 tiles but not 15 tiles. maybe 11 or 12.
Nah cap. Too big to find portals I only escape by camping statics. Much cooler map tho
I dislike goblin caves, but I liked it better when I could actually find portals.

The old one was better. If you truly disliked a map you'd just swap to a different que or trade for the remainder of the rotation. But you had a choice unlike now for us that don't like goblin/ice caves period. From what I was told, there was not enough people were queuing in the middle of the night, like no shit. Then why add a third map further diversifying the ques. Just doesn't make sense to me.
Keep the old rotation system but instead of rotating 3 maps you keep ruins in and then swap out goblin or ice caves daily maybe.
im fine with the new change in rotation but they should let a solo queue for all map. i cant stand playing GC this map is so horrible for my taste and being outnumbered everywhere else is very unfriendly. solo ice cavern was my favorite but playing vs duo is a huge turnoff tbf. hope they revert the patch cuz the reason i started back playing just been removed...
Anyone seeing this suggestion, please read it and if you don't like something, please share more elaborate thoughts than "stupid idea"

Every Floor should add in for a 1min lobby new players in the game with different gear level limits:
1.Ruins map - Up to Green starting gear - 15 Players in the Lobby.
2.Crypts - Up to blue Starting gear -12 Players Lobby
3.Hell - No limit to Gear. - 9 Players lobby.
4.Boss - Last Circle in hell zone to spawn a Boss portal for 3 people
Make the boss a different floor for the last 3 people standing, being interrupted while in the boss arena is also the most frustrating experience, especially that now you have to get trough 3 floors to get to the boss and then not being able to do it because people are trolls.
You can make some different portals spawned in the current boss room in the middle, so that people would fight for it in hell, as it would be an Arena.

The sword mastery perk has a bug. Instead of blocking an attack, it will increase action speed by 50%, but it will freeze and cannot do anything other than stand still.

we have literally been cut off from 2/3rds of the games content becuase of this bullshit
who ever designed the map rotation system is actively sabotaging the game's playability

Also a reduction in player count on each map would not hurt. I might be in the minority here, but I had the most fun, when I was in a duo with a friend and we only had 2 or 3 other squads going head to head in the goblin caves.
i just hate the fact im forced to find randoms to play without getting teamed on , they try to fix teaming but all they did was garentee it like WTF

no one like map rotation when maps are so different. every1 will have a preference and hated one and a rotation just make every1 unhappy. every map should have a solo mode and the 2 other the second mod related to it like duo for ice cavern and trio for ruins whatever. gonna be still lots of different game mode but it gonna still have 10 instead of 18 and every1 will find their place at the end of the day. this update is only good for streamer and super sweath, every casual and solo player is losing with these changes

some peoples actually enjoy half filled lobby to learn map and being able to pve without too much pressure. this game for solo average player is already unforgiving enough theres no need to force solo to play vs experimented duo and trio on top of that.

that is how i feel too, i only got t enjoy it for a couple days because the map selection was ruined, i had plans to quit the game before this and they take away the only thing keeping me here real fast
sometime i feel like they do it on purpose cuz they love peoples salty tears. this game is so unique and awesome peoples love it but the back and forth of very questionable patches they do really ruining everything its sad

the weirdest part is we cant see the logic behind this. like if the empty lobby was a problem instead of rotation they would just need a random selection with extended timer for full game. if some gamemode is too op for farming points just nerf certain gamemode points attribution or having a versatile entrance cost/reward depending on the number of players in lobby. theres so much better thing to be done than ruining the game experience for a large percentage of the playerbase.

i think they are testing everything shamelessly and blindly to try to figure out by trial and error what could work the best but... they should reduce the amount of drastic gamechanging changes and ask more the playerbase for guideline

Agree with everything that's being said. Map rotation was better. Full selection felt even better. If they want to even out map players they should have a quickplay queue that puts a team into a random or the lowest queue but gives them a luck boost for the run or something like that as an incentive

i think the highroller point disctribution should be versatile on the amount of player per game for normal gamemodes and having a random queue with extended timer for full lobby with a 10-20% bonus for the unpredictable part and the full lobby. every1 would enjoy it.

Portal nerf makes it unplayable, you are basically required to swarm camp exits, and even then fight other people in the swarm doing the same. Basically impossible to grind any meaningful amount of AP

Maybe a hot take, but maybe gob cave could be given the ice cave treatment and old gob cave mob density could come back while removing swarm. Due to lack of exits, still have portals appear but few and far between, so you either have to fight over the few statics or just risk it and explore. Instead of the blizzard feature, it could be an earthquake that caves it in and you get smashed by a boulder lol.
Which is real similar to a lot of the “very impactful” team buffs like accelarondo or however it’s spelled

The main problem and issue of players, I think, is the fact that they want, they COVET that AP at the end. But when they've reduced the ways to extract - they've reduced the times you progress in the AP count too. So, now, instead of playing for some kind of goal, people feel they WASTE their time in the game without progressing to the rewards they want. So it is not even the problem of how many exits there are, or how those exits look, static or not, it is the problem that people do not like to feel they waste their time in the game, that was supposed to help them relax. AP gain should not be gated behind if you extract or not. Extraction just needs to be a simple line in the list of your gains. Do that and, vu à la the problem with teamers is solved, people are more inclined to engage PvP and, which is even more important, their satisfaction with the game will not decline, for even if they lose - they still made some progress.

To be fair to the devs, it sucks to play right now but there is a lot more meaningful discussion on aspects that need to be improved upon, but by offering rewards people want at the same time is foolish. All these issues right now stem from the devs not getting enough data, and when they make steps to do that they counteract players ability to have fun in their game. Honestly, the best fix they can hope for this issue right now is to get on steam and separate the game between stable build and test build. They could offer rewards for playing the test build like Sea of Thieves has, where by just playing it a certain amount each week gives you rewards in the main game, so people are incentivized to test for them without fear of losing progress in the main game. They’d probably have to come to steam to have a large enough player base for this to work though
Lobbies not filling up all the way wouldn’t really matter in the test build though, because there is nothing to be gained, other then proposed rewards based only on time played, so shouldn’t matter if the test build has less players, it would be the best middle ground where they can use the player base to test the game without upsetting us too much
I doubt it is about data. I'd say it either about stuborness or plain lacking of working hands. Stuborness as in the case of many classes and many more requests in the suggestions, the QoL improvements people want, yet denied, because it isn't fitting their "vision". Fair to that, but if you aren't going to accept any ideas - that suggestion page shouldn't exist in the first place.
As for lacking of working hands... Have they won that court process? How much have they made of game so far? Is it even really profitable and they can hire more people? I don't know. The thing I know though, or suspect I shoud say, is that with this kind of updating speed, how they patch things unchecked... I think there is less people working on the game than should.
And if I am right at either of those points, then Steam re-launch will not improve ANYTHING. It iwll only make matters worse and more loud.

The idea is to add a new currency : the platinium token. Players will be able to use this currency in trade for higher items, instead of gold ingot or golden keys. This currency could be availlable at the Treasurer for 1000g, and could be sold at the Collector for the same amount.
Actually, selling high items with ingots or keys doesn't give gold. We have to trade again to touch the monney.
With this currency, that will be easier to get gold coins. And the price of a token won't change, instead of Gold ingots or Golden keys.

That is definitely true, the devs are understaffed but clearly passionate workaholics too, but it is easier for things to slip through the cracks that way. I guess the best we can hope for is for the lawsuit to actually end soon so they can stop having to blow their money on it.

Right now you can post an item for a crazy amount of gold and buy it from yourself to store it for up to a week
I assume gold bags are going to be more available in the future, and not just a seasonal reward, so that should already help a lot

It is clear they've needed money when at start they wanted to sell new classes for cash. It is good they've realised it will inevitably lead to P2W, as if you paid for class it HAS to be good, right? And what classes will receive more updates and tweaks? Those who sell BEST. That was a good part of their decision. The bad side is - FUNDING. I don't know how much they make on those store items, really, I don't think there was anything I wanted to buy too, like I've done my part supporting the game with buying it in early access state, becoming, basically a test subject, trusting them with develpment. And I don't think many other people will also buy anything from that store... So how are they funded? That is the core issue of how slow the game is progressing.

Lawsuit ending should be a good boon for them, but assuming they win they’ll probably counter sue for damages, in the meantime having to pay more legal fees

I haven't played the game for 3 past days, waiting till they fix, and re-fix, and then re-patch all over again. Can't tell you.

how about we test out a few new things, and actually let people know it's only a test unless it's well received.
1, remove the group cap on all maps so you only select where and normal/HR and your AP is based on what size your party is when you queue in. they track what group sizes like to go to what map during this time and adjust the static queues by this metric. and add a rotation of a few queues for the lower played queues but not remove them.
2, AP is earned character wide and where you go and what size your group is does not seperate it, and we keep the solo caves, duo ice, trios ruins set up
then have a Poll in the blacksmith launcher to vote and write in responses only one time per account to give feedback so a loud minority of crazies on reddit and Gen chat don't control the perception of the players opinions
Please make ice caves hell for gobs caves then make it solo and duo ques only. Keep ruin/crypts the same but duo and trios ques only.

More detailed patch notes would be nice. Like how often maps will rotate now etc. pretty vague patch notes half the time. Were left figuring this shit out ourselves.

the whole reason for map rotation is to reduce queue amounts so lobbies aren't empty and not limit people too much but it's never going to work

the real answer to the problem is to focus on the main game and plan while letting queues just be a little light on players and focus on prepping the balance and content for the wave of people coming with the steam return
more players will completely resolve the problem and map rotation is making people quit, make the game fun and balanced and people will come back and stay.

make Crystal Sword a one handed weapon, remove spell casting option outside of CBall.
Right now it's the WORST casting item (Slowest, no +damage add). Making it a main hand gives Wizards a new weapon option for PvE and opens up more build options for them, warlocks, and even fighters with CBall offhand.
Not to mention all the times you fail to cast when it bonks off something lol
not sure if it had been posted yet, but could we make the market items sort be based on per item value for stacks.
for example 5 gold ingots for 500 (500/5) would be higher on the list (cheaper) than 1 gold ingot for 125

They are doing quite well financially from what the devs have said. I think they said they can survive with as few as 3k concurrent players in a stream a few months ago

Having live data of things on the marketplace, or even purchases on the marketplace, would be amazing for the community to analyze the economy. Giving us access to data allows us to also do more analysis

Did anyone notice that the longsword seems to be a quick time even for a couple weapons now? I find that a lot of the mobs are nigh impossible to reposte after blocking.

Suggestion: If you go to spectate in HR and there's only 1 team left, remove timer. So lets say there's 2 teams left and one team extracts before your minute ends, you can watch the last team until game end.

As much as know you love giving cool things to everyone else and their mother, could you please, for the love of whatever god clerics are supposed to worship in this game, do something about the lack of ranged competitiveness. We have none. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. There's not a damn thing we can do against rangers with enough arrows to kill 20 of me, or rogues with half an inventory of throwing knives, or fighters pretending to be rangers, etc. You get the point.
Climbing in solos as a cleric is the closest thing to purgatory I can think of. Is there some reason clerics in this game are godforsaken? Even if there is, from a balance perspective, please, do something about this. Because it really is that bad. Praying for divine intervention mid-game that a friendly barbarian kick in the door behind them clearly isn't working.
Sincerely, a cleric that has been killed by far, far, far too many ranged weapons with no actual capability to fight back.
P.S. Yes, I'm sure the ranger was very skilled, shooting the slowest class in the game with no means to defend themselves. I'm sure he probably would have won anyway. It definitely has very little to do with the fact I can't even hope to fight back, nor even try to flee since I open doors slower than a barbarian now.

Marketplace filters are way too barebones. Needs more features.
Filter by multiple attributes/rarities/etc
Filter by value of the attribute (ie, only 3 magical healing, not 2 or 1)
Save filters (20-30 slots of saved filters per character)
Sale history - same as current marketplace but you can see which items/prices successfully sold
A way to filter enchants OUT from market search would be absolutely golden. i'm sick of my eyes glazing past 30 rings with +magic power bonus as a Fighter lol
Add back the old map rotation. Free map is too low on lobbies. But just played for ~2 hours with a friend and didn't once catch a duo map in rotation
Also, duo ice caverns had lobbies of roughly ~5 people
The fact that I'm still forced to deal with full teams in fucking solos is insane, I just had to fight a: barb/ranger/ranger comp IN SOLOS. The fact that the devs can't release a good change to save their lives is really ruining this game and the blanket fixes are just sad. "If we remove portals it stops full teams!" -> creates smaller teams which then cause the SOLOS game mode to become some dark souls boss thing, such BS. Plus it's fully working with the rules, if you want to fix the change. Make it bannable, there's no way to stop a RANKED system from getting ruined if they don't reach their hand out and slap the people abusing said system.

Goblin caves is the most unpopular map. Why dont you do Goblin caves as second floor of ice caves like you did with crypta? And then give the people the free choice of map select? No more complaining and the community would be happy

pls reduce the gear stat bonuses. it has nothing to do with skill anymore. goldteams in every lobby are just whipping the whole lobby. even if you have purple near BIS gear and jump them with invis pots (if you get the chance). its just unplayable after reaching pathfinder, the fun just stops.
I wish they would have kept the individual solo, duo, trios tabs so much more enjoyable

Once again repeating that your map system is worthless and should be reverted to selection mode. You're imagining artificial problems with map population. Ruining choice on class dependent maps is not how you will get people to play them.

I think that instead of either this or the previous map system, all maps should be open to play but should have independent queues for solos duos and trios, it makes more sense then reverting back to another system that was also not desireable
i am currently having a huge issue where i am crashing repeatidly when moving items in my inventory or gold into my stash. its like random but its litterally like 3-4 crashes before i cant sort stuff buy pots and ready up. i have reported to bug report , i just wanna know if anyone else is having this issue or if im going crazy
I know this may be seen as a hot take, but there's a significant number of people that would love to play this game, but are completely put off by the forced PVP gameplay that exists in the game. I personally have at least 3-4 friends who refuse to play because PVP is forced. I'm proposing that a separate mode be made for character creation that has a PVE only flag. This would create characters in a separate economy, where players can only play/trade with other PVE flagged players. This would allow PVE players to adventure in the same dungeon locations, but without the stress of PVP, and the opportunity to enjoy the visceral challenges of the game, and the fun it offers when fighting monsters and escaping dungeons together with friends.
That's like making an easy mode for dark souls, it's meant to be a hardcore extraction looter. The game would get real boring real fast if it was just pve and they would just waste their money.
A lot of the teamers would just go play that, at least that's what i believe. shit I'd pay for that feature and this isn't dark souls. This is an indie company coming out of a lawsuit. I think they'd make even more money doing this.
They would have an initial burst of money that would fade fast. But you are correct this isn't dark souls. The second those new bight eyed players figure out how to cheese enemies or know how to dodge their moves... not like isn't necessarily hard, it becomes a slog and they would move onto something else instead of actually learning the game in a dangerous enviroment. PvP is the lifeblood of the game and a pve mode would not prosper. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it could work but leave it up to the community to decide and make a suggestion for people to up and down vote. 👍 I always want more people to join us in the dungeons so I hope it is mainly upvoted and has good praise but I don't see a fruitful outcome.

I was the last person left in the damn game, waited in the final circle, no sound, no portals, nothing, I ran around franticly trying to find one withing the final circles area that may have spawned already and nothing. What the actual fuck..? I've had so much bad luck to server crashes ect and now this.. Like cmon man, mutliple games I've had to run to statics and often found them taken and die because there's zero time to run to the far ones. It's actually so bullshit to die to a zone when you're the ONLY PERSON LEFT IN THE LOBBY! Why is there not mutliple portal spawns at the final circle? Actually a joke

Yeah, its the cleric again. I see you're still not doing anything about the horrible state we have to suffer through on solos. Pretty quick to hand out goodies to wizards and warlocks and barbs though. Gee, its almost like there's some sort of bias here.
But that's fine, I'm sure you're busy with the marketplace we didn't really need, or probably figuring out some way to buff classes that are already strong on their own. Maybe give an even better bow to rangers? Give barbs the ability to throw even more frannies? Hell, lets give wizards a third weapon slot for the crossbow they never use since they already have spells and throwing knives for some reason? God knows you were quick to give them a better version of clerics smite as a passive. That's fine. Who needs an ability to participate in ranged combat? Certainly not the only class that's incapabile of doing so.
i uninstalled the game like 6month ago cause i was sick of back and forth update ruining the experience... gave back a chance to the game when solo queue was a thing i had some of the best 2 day of gaming of my life untill... they make me remembered why i uninstalled and was so full of toxicity 6month ago.
i hope devs read the discord actively cuz seriously its sad to make a game that good and ruin it like that.
solo players mostly have complaints rn. goblin cave is not a great map its the worst for many and being forced to play in number disadvantage in a very punishing game is very very rough. not everyone can have friends around playing all the time . some have no friend at all playing and trusting randoms with while u risk valuable gear is a no go. if solo queue for ice cavern and ruins come back im pretty sure most of players will stop complaining.
It's fine, they only rebalanced the entire map design for trios a few months ago only to force solos to play on it again. Perfectly reasonable. Much fun.
i love playing trio when i have friends around. but if i cant play solo when they are not i wont play at all since there will be no progress. forcing solo to play trio just mean you disrespect ur community or just straight favorise steamers over every1 else and dont care around peoples enjoyment

There is no fun in having a gold team in a lobby everyone either runs for their lives trying to get out or just gets run over by the either group that is gold or even just one player that is gold it is no longer fun no one likes it unless ur the team running through an entire lobby. Make it that if u have any gold gear on that u get put into a different lobby. Devs you need to do this or remove gold entirely from the game you have not balanced it out and you need to do something before MORE people quit playing.
The issue isn’t that they’re wearing gold it’s that theyre very good you don’t get to wearing gold kits every game unless you’re very good trust in that they would still roll lobbies in purple gear and if they were in norms they would do the same thing just slower because of no gear advantage —— this complain has been made time and time again between full lobster teams rolling lobbys or full blue rolling norms

You wouldn't. Remove spellcasting capability from Crystal Sword. No one should be casting spells w/ it anyway - slowest casting animation, AND the +magic weapon damage does NOT add to spells, so it's fairly useless outside of casting before combat even starts.
It is so slow to cast with its awful but maybe if they made the cast swing a sword swing at the same time it would help a little bit say a slash +invis

That is a terrible idea. You'd need to time it exactly right for it to make sense, you'd need to make it cast AFTER you hit for invis to be worth it, meaning ignite would be worthless to use this way, AND you're already in melee.

Right now as a casting implement, it is no longer worth bringing as a 2 handed casting implement or PvE clear weapon because of Staff Mastery
Making it a 1 handed weapon gives it a proper niche as a "slower, but stronger than rondel" or "magic scaling, unlike falchion" melee option with Cball.

combo master or whatever it's called, remove the pretty mediocre damage bonus on subsequent swings and instead it makes dual-weapons receive a new animation set that's a combined set of swings that are either faster or double swings at certain points.
That is a lot of work, though it's much cooler.
If c-sword was one-handed it would be pretty legitimate I think. Maybe even still a bit weak, but at least you could add the c-ball's damage to it. Or use a shield or a decent weapon damage offhand

It doesn't. If I was using two weapons I would be using two weapons simultaneously, not swing then stop then swing offhand. There's no combos without animating them. And the game has inbuilt combos that do this already.
It also would apply to the only weapon combo that slayers even use with combo attack: arming-short lol
You know you can hold LMB and RMB at the same time and certain weapons have "sync'd" animations that overlap eachother during windup and recovery, right?

I also don't like that wizards/warlocks are encouraged to completely overcome the slowness of their casting rather than improve its power. The game would be actively much better if ranged options were much slower and more cumbersome, in general imo. But stronger at the high end.

The issue with barbs is not franciscas, even slightly. They need more franciscas. It's the core of the class being overtuned, in my opinion. They are only minorly less armoured than a fighter these days and with vastly more hp. And the best damage output options of the heavily armoured classes. Platelock with boc gives barb more of a run for its money in terms of efficiency, but it's vastly slower than a fighter and has even worse ranged options because of its huge slowdown in casting. That should be about where barb should be without overhauling, but right now it's a jack-of-all trades.
Glad you ask. Warlocks at this point health cycle too much (Yes I know the torture Master nerf) they still infantry cycle health off their hydras once they hit a mid level gear threshold. That combined with hydra being able to be insta cast with repition makes the over all op. Let me door block and heal, also I'll heal while I fight you, and I will outrun you with phantomize/ fire to start all over again.
Fighter should not have a crossbow without taking a perk. They allredy have Fran axes. Fighters are dominating the solo because wiz was killed. Sure you can out run them, most the time, but over all PDR is alredy making them unkillable, then add in all the sword and sheild buffs, most the time you just run from fighter. And they just gave em more magic resist in sheild stance.
And my over all logic for the nerf of both was saying if your bominating the solo leader board both in Ave points in your classes 100 bracket, ad well as taking all the top spots, and a majority of the top 100 spots more generaly, I think those 2 classes need nerfs

Make players rest by default if they get disconnected, I almost lost a teamate last night to storm due to DC and since their are active connection problems I feel this could help negate some of the issues with the ability to campire dc'd players

It's extremely necessary. You've literally never played a barb, obviously. or you would know that most ranged classes in situations where you're not faster than them, will simply run rings around you very easily without the franciscas. If they don't do any real damage, that's a problem.
Hot take. Classic mode should be any party size Ruins. Rotation should alternate solo/duo & trio between the two caves (i.e gob solo/duo while ice is trio. 20 min rotation)

Barb's just super strong in stats. That's it. It's too fast specifically in my opinion. Particularly with its skill on top of its speed.

Anyone else thinking this?.. Goblin caves was amended and made larger. Solo lobbies are now in a large map where you see no one. In 10 minutes I found no portals or players, killed 3 players in the final 2 minutes and get jumped by a 4th.. goblins needs to decrease in size or the zone needs to come in more rapidly to promote early fights?
No, goblin caves should go back to being full selection, like every other map. And it needs that space for that.
Not sure how to go about handling it. But I feel like the current AP (ranked) system feels really bad with it being split into solo/duo/trio. Like my duo gets off but if I wanna continue to grind my rank I have to queue duo as a solo or find a random? Feels wonky to me. Especially with map rotations. I'm forced to play a duo map that I may not want to and I have to wait an extended period of time to get a better one

And that feels bad, pointlessly. The problem with barb is that they are too strong once they've closed, they have good closing and they're decent skirmishers. The problem there isn't just that they can skirmish, and if you remove that they just become worthless.

Rangers don't need a massive amount of ammo unless they're going to hell. It's 15 gold or something like that for a stack of arrows. The two don't equate.

Maybe with some contention now that the mountains exist, and wizards are suddenly melee combatants. But the general idea is that GC is not a good map for those classes solo. Lots of tight spaces.

I think that issue is made worse by no solo for the map too - If I was a wizard pre-staff-bonk I wouldn't go in GC at all. It's too risky. So what do you do? You either play on the ruins solo or you get a team and play on it with a team. Or you get a duo comp that works on mountains with a good wall of muscle in front of you.
All the wizards who would have solo'd now do not.

I think we need map of choice, solos is such **** in gobo rn and the rotation is not enough access for solos to different maps at it also includes triples which only want ruins, and duos, who also want ruins. IC is a good secondary solo, i think if no map of chocie, maybe map options; they should both (IC and GC) be solo, with a duos IC and duos Ruins, and triples just on Ruins.

I think it’s funny people had no problem with life drain hydra when it first came out it was actually a joke but now that it is the only way to play caster warlock without spending thousands of gold now it’s a problem. Warlock needs survivability as you use health to cast if you take away hydra life drain warlocks become just as useless as they were when they were first released just with worse magical healing now.
The main problem that this game suffers from is not any individual tool. It's speed. In every case. Speed makes ranged abilities op and dictates how fast you can skirmish etc. If warlock just wasn't fast enough to run away so reliably it wouldn't be as much of an issue.
But how do you balance speed if you make warlocks or any caster for that matter too slow they become useless
No caster outputs enough damage in order to make up for a lack of speed so that forces them to do hit and run attacks or just get out dps by every other class

I agree. Fighting players smurfing on their alts with full gold BIS and using it for content has been killing the game for weeks now.
They want people playing this game and then gatekeep the ladder and lobbies as if its just for them. Pretty shit way to have a healthy community of players

i was with you until the ranger changes. what drove you to increase their will, when they have no magic damage, and reduce their agility and remove the recurve, when all but 3 of their perks are ranged oriented?
The idea with increasing their Will is to give them just that little bit better Magical Interaction speed, as well as better synergy with Wizard and Cleric. Higher Will also means higher buff duration for their Skills affected by it, making them just slightly more appealing to use.
Reducing their agility makes it so that Rangers play in a manner befitting of a zoner character in just about any game. A zoner who can also be very quick makes for too good a character in most cases.
The change from Recurve to Survival Bow is to give an incentive to "progress" from your starting bow and to make it so that Ranger's starting weapon isn't too strikingly powerful to begin with. Even so, the weapon's high attack speed should prove to compensate SLIGHTLY for that change. Survival Bow's initial 10 shots also allows Ranger to have an equal 50 shots rather than the current 48.
I agreed with pretty much everything on here except the Warlock Changes (all of them) and the the Sword Mastery Impact change.
(Side note, this isn't me being biased towards Warlock or Fighter; I'm a bard lol)
You at least get the idea of what I want to do for Warlock, right? Their self-healing and magic damage capabilities combined are out of control currently and they need something done about them.

Oh yeah I do get it, but right now their Torture Mastery healing is insanely outclassed by Life Drain and not even worth considering since the nerf
I think nerfing but not outright removing Life Drain healing on Summons would be better; Something like adding onto Life Drain's effect "-50% Healing from Allies".
It makes post-nerf Torture Mastery healing more attractive even if it's hit damn hard right now and puts Life Drain into check.
For flame walker, do you really think it's a problem right now? I don't think so; it's just good for spacing and PVM.
Flame Walker is definitely an additional problem due in part to the ability to synergize with Phantomize. When used properly, a Warlock can't really be hit by any class aside from Wizard or Cleric, and they can deal a buttload of damage to you. Plus, Flame Walker always felt like it should be an ability.
It can be but it's not as good in practice as it is in theory, most classes outspeed Warlock so maintaining fire placement under those players is not realistic and more so just a "get away from me or I'll deal 1 tick of damage to you because I cant catch up to you". The classes they CAN catch up to can deal with them (Wizard and Cleric).
Not the worst takes I have seen from you. I like most of them however the ranger and warlock changes are a bit strange.
also I don't like the idea of staff mastery giving action speed, would rather it give cast speed or something else so its not just a bonk staff.
Staff Mastery's change is only because of Quarterstaff's existence. However, I think I can come up with something that works.

Anyway, I've redone the Ranger and Warlock changes to be a little more sensible. Something something to encourage more variety in gameplay for Ranger, and Warlock just isn't a self-heal slave anymore.

Me and my duo buddy are now feeling burned out on playing the same map again and again because of ironmace's insistence in not allowing us to play other maps.
Once again for the record, map rotation was better. Selection was even better. This is awful.
It's not. In the old system, you had a map for 30 minutes, and you either played it or did not. In this system, you have a map for five minutes, and must wait 30 minutes to see it again. That's a less amount of time, but if you want to play a map that isn't your core map you have 20 minutes per hour in very missable 5 minute windows each to see them. That's vastly more annoying and more unhealthy for my enjoyment than actually playing a map that's unfavourable for 30 minutes.
Sitting and waiting should not be part of the gameplay loop of the game. It's the reason the market was created.
I really don't think that would help anything. I'm playing this game because I can duo, and will almost certainly never trio. I don't think there's that much overlap between duo and trio pools compared to duo solo and solo trio.

Possibly. Selection for solos would be good, I think. I actually liked proper rotation while it was around, though I found selection strictly better to play. I kinda think they should just accept the high end lobbies are gonna be quieter and extend their lobby-filling timers or something. They actively reduced them and that can't help.
At no point during selection-based games did I feel like lobbies were scarce but I imagine the problem is worse for trios than it is for duos. If the timers were extended, and if they're worried about people taking a look at your gear in lobby and trying to kill you they should turn off looking at gear in the lobby completely, leaving only guesses based on the skins of your gear, but continuing to allow looking at gear in observation mode after death, so you get feedback on whether you were outmatched or outplayed. I don't think it's super great that we have any pre-knowledge of who we're being matched with.
I'd legit prefer the maps were fully random with every queue with only team-size selection than the current system though, decidedly. That system is perfectly serviceable in other middle-player-count games like Marauders for instance. The waiting overall is just bad, even if it's not as bad as people initially said. And the thing is if they're ever going to add more maps this problem is only going to get worse and they're going to have to do that eventually if there's a fourth. It probably won't matter if it goes on steam if they're going to split the number into another fourth, then a third each of that fourth.
instead of having solo GC duo IC and trio ruins WITH a rotation why they dont put all 3 in a team size rotation . ex solo become duo after 5 min and then trio after another 5 minute. so theres always a map for solo duo and trio avail but wich one it is will be on rotation. would feel wayyyy better imo
Remove Slayer from Fighter, give it to either Ranger or Rogue. Slayer is too strong when coupled with Dual Wield and Sword Mastery, and takes away from the core identity of the Fighter by overspecializing it.
I don't know what about you, good people, but I am kind of sick of the current map system. Especially when I am solo. I am either to be CURSED with goblin caves solo and have to get through a tons of mobs in the rooms, where you don't even have the place to fart, because of how much there is literal garbage and obstacles all around you with no place to maneuver, or to go and risk my solo ass be ripped apart by triple barbarians in the ruins or double rogues sitting and waiting for someone near the exits in the Ice Caves. You know what? Even rotation map was better. At least then I could've always option to NOT go in that goblin filled nightmare of a dump.
solo players need more love
Skill has very little bearing on the game right now tbh. It's a gear and class check system in most situations. You either have the tools to deal with the situation or you don't, and the only time you die because of skill is if you're truly equal or make some serious mistake. Especially since they made all the items give such huge stat bonuses.
I don't hate that, btw. I actually think that the acquiring of gear is, and should be, the main focus of the game. Just an observation.
Not entirely true. The skill of the player still has a major impact, it is just the fact that gear is MULTIPLIER of that impact. And, unlike you, I am against it. I was and am on the side of not allowing the gear gap into the game, that revolves about PvP being the main thing. There should never be a moment in a competitive game, that one player starts with his baseline stats doubled, while other is not only has his base stats, but is also wearing crap of a weapon and armor. Those are either need to be in their own league or to never be facing each other. Not only that, but un-geared character is also penalized for, basically, playing the game. For if he can't find a way to overcome those, who are geared - he goes back with NOTHING. Well, aside of "thank you for being a punching bag note". While those who are already geared are, most of the time, already have the means to have either the same or similar set to be provided.
There is no real solution to this, BTW, aside of either creating a different leagues of players or to change the concept of the game. For example to turn it more into battler royal, where ALL are starting the same and it is up to their lack and skill to find new gear. As for progression it can be new skills or a new starting set of weapons and armor. But then, it is not so much of Dark and Darker anymore and more like some Naraka: Bladepoint.
Hard disagree, the only point of Dark and Darker is the acquiring of loot and gear, and systems without strong gear differentiation are boring in games like this. I can cite examples: Greed is Good has a very flat gear distribution and it doesn't feel good to get gear because it gives you a tiny fraction of a power increase. Marauders has more differentiation but not much. It also doesn't feel like gear has much of an impact unless you're in the best of the best armour and it's easy to acquire in most cases, and weapons are extremely killy regardless of what you do.
In short, if you have a problem with the game not being a serious competitive game, I think you're playing the wrong game. This is a game in which you bet your gear against other gear sets, with skill only playing that relatively minor role you mention, except perhaps in those situations where you're at the extreme top or bottom of the skill curve.
What I will say though is that I think gold gear is too much. +all is a massive jump in power.
Skill will always have a way to either level the gear advantage or to, at least, have the chance against someone fully kitted out. And, again, it is my side of the isle, and you don't have to agree to that. I, personally, HATE the fact gear is SUCH a big of a multiplier in this game. And I absolutely despise, that you only get those AP scores if you extract. This is plain disrespectful of my time spent in the game. Like I get it, to winner goes the spoils, sure. And if I was a meta slave or, at least, slightly better player in general, I would be able to get that score much higher, than what I am now. At the same time, I have played the game. I have dedicated my time to play ranked, I've provided you the means to fill the lobby for those no-life sweaters, who aren't playing the game only when they sleep or squat in the toilet (and I put a huge doubt on the second "activity") is my contribution to the game really worth ZERO to you, IMace? You are that disrespectful to your auditory? I am not only fighting uphill, penalized for loss with all the scraps of gear I had, but also my time is deemed worthless too? F. U.
In fact, it absolutely kills the desire to play the game for me now. Maps are crap, even rotation system was better, matchmaking is broken AF, there is too big of a gap all the time, and the ranked system is plainly disrespectful to my time in the game, while normal dungeons are needed only for new players to have their characters leveled. After that - they all go for HR, for that is where all the loot and the gains are, where they are crushed with gear gap, skill gap and have rarely if ever get any progress, for all the rewards are reserved for winners only. So why should anyone play the game, that is constantly punches you down and doesn't reward you if you aren't top % of a player base?

You are doing something very wrong on a meta level if you are not making gains in HR. Not in an in-game level. Like wasting your gold in some way, or not building correctly or playing an actively bad-at-pvp-class. Like, are you a rogue, and trying to face-tank fighters or something? Because one extract on HR will get you a good few hundred, which will get you a decent weapon and make you viable.
But seriously my guy you come across as extremely whiny about how the game is. This doesn't sound like it's a game you want to play at all, and you want the fundamentals changed, not tweaked.
You're allowed to not like this game and move on, you know?
My only problem with the game right now is map rotations being inferior to how they were, and I strongly suspect they will fix that shortly, unless they want to hemhorrage players when everyone realizes they can't do their quests anymore after the reset.
Other than that my gripes are fairly minor. I'd prefer a less ranged meta, I'd prefer certain perks were more balanced, but otherwise the game has, and always has, felt good.

If you make a PvP focused game - you should balance them out and not allow for 3 classes to come on top every patch. It's a high skill high reward class, a bit like wizard. It punishes mistakes.
Play barbarian or fighter. The class isn't the problem.
You'll learn the fundamentals better with a more lenient class.
For AP grinding I would abandon the goblin caves and go to duo ice caves it should be relatively easy to extract if you stay away from the gold pile in the middle and the pyramid and elevator rooms running high move speed can let you choose when to fight and you don’t necessarily need a teammate in duos you just have to end one of them while their caught off guard and then it’s a 1v1 running languor is important because if their slow you’re that much faster also when backing away use the A and D keys because you move faster than the S key
A lot of PvP is the result of who got the better first hit off so if you can leave after a fight starts bad you’re that much more likely to live
TLDR - it is for me to decide what games are or not for me. Besides, I have never said anything of being top skill player, on the contrary - always said I am not as good at the game as I want to. The thing I was complaining about is that with such a big gear gap and crappy balance between classes I am only slowed in my progression, because I am fighting uphill.

If Gold items are 1.5k rn that's only because wipe is incoming. For most of the wipe they've been worth a key, which was worth about 8k for most of the wipe.

You vastly overestimate how good the average player is at this game both in terms of looting and pvp. Just because you and I can drop that kind of money doesn't mean that for the average person that is not out of reach.

goblin cave lacks sufficient amount of blues, half the time people take them before you even get the chance you find them or they spawn on polar opposite floor where nobody can find them no matter how fast you are other people can find them first and youl be fucked becuase there isn;t enough blue portal spawns, doesen't matter how much ground you can cover your always not likely to survive because not enough exits both in terms of static and random portals

anybody who just happens to spawn near a static blue in goblin caves is lucky and is given the campers advantage
i literally killed 2 people just now and had full pockets only to have every exit taken before i get there in gobby caves AND deal with people camping sneakily at the static exits outside the ring shooting projectiles at me just before they leave(i survived that but with a hunk of health missing)
2 fixes to this issue would be to make it so blues accept 2 people instead of just 1 person or just add more blue or introduce reds
i been playing since playtest 3 so i think my opinion is quite valid if your a fan for what is actually fun in this game, i mean people dont call gobby caves the kit eater map for now reason, it usually ends with multiple people dying no matter how good they are because of both bad RNG and mainly due to not having enough exit portals to begin with

i play this game constantly in both duos and solos and have only ever died to a blatant cheater once
I received multiple perma ban notices when I was still playing trios every day same with my friends I play with. Also cheaters in solos and duos is much less common from my experience.
In 700+ games this wipe ive only died to 2 people who were cheating in trios
Every time I die due to an extremely confusing situation, I report that player and turn off the game and don't play. The next day I get a notification that the report was successful. Sometimes I report 7 people, sometimes I report and quit because I'm so bored. With a bunch of hackers running all over the map and DEVS only bans hackers for a few days, while hackers can still create another one and continue hacking, why not ban the whole account instead of banning just one character hack in that account

Can we please have an option for casuals to go into a dungeon where they need not fear PvP. I'm sick and tired of getting into a game only to be hunted down by the top 10% like a dog. No chance to win, just a hopeless death that comes sooner or later depending on how far I am from them. A PvP game needs to tailor its experience to the average player and it's not doing that, hence much teaming is happening. Second, I can ask for a PvE only mode. It's hardly a sin and won't affect PvP at all, except make PvPvE an actually viable PvP as opposed to a hunt of casuals and average players. The simple reason being that PvP focused players would have a place to go and compete.

I want to PvP, but if I'm facing a heavyweight, I won't win the vast majority of the time. Also, other PvP games don't seem to have an empty lobby problem, even when they have multiple modes, so I don't see why they can't accomodate a PvE or some such.
Also, were there a DaD like game w/ PVE only I would. Besides this, I've spent my money on DaD, and I'm not going to splurge on games that may or may not be as enjoyable for PvE only.

Normals lacks the rewards of high roller. The rewards of HR are a big part of the game. Normals, for me, got boring quick. Also, I don't always want to PvP. I want to roleplay my character and sometimes that means I wanna be a "good guy" who doesn't PvP unless necessary. Or sometimes I just wanna dungeon crawl, no PvP, just PvE. If there were a PvE option I'd rather have that. Normals is dull and I'm not sure that many care all that much for normals except to get geared for HR.

Illusion - Summons an illusion of a player or monster, maybe you can control it
Shadowstep - Teleports behind target at short range
Disguise - Monsters don’t react to your presence until you damage them or the buff wears off

I’m mainly a PvE player and I completely agree, a big part of what makes the PvE fun is the danger and excitement of other players freedom. I make this comparison a lot because they are both PvPvE games, but Sea of Thieves is a very good example. It is mainly PvE focused, but at any time another player crew who wants to blast you can sail up. Adds so much to the enjoyment of the game, even if you only want to PvE imo
The devs of this game are extremely bad, doing extremely poorly, instead of permanently banning or banning the entire account, the devs of this game ban every character who uses hacks, the hackers still create new ones and continue to hack, the system By doing this, hackers have nothing to fear except waiting for the ban to end and then hacking again

I think a practice mode would do wonders. You don't gain or lose anything, and you can select what map to play on so you can try out your gear and practice AI attack patterns
I’d recommend playing a lot of low roller until you feel familiar with the maps/combat/pve then PvP won’t feel as daunting. Also try to learn what your class does good and bad against, it really helps when figuring out how to win a fight

I feel like the rotating maps should exclude the group that gets the base map, like solos should not rotate in goblins but should in ice caves and ruins. And same with trios shouldn’t get a rotation in ruins, it seems weird to have two spots to queue into at one time.
it's currently as you stated. this is called hybrid rotation by ironmace and they've already implemented it.. but on another note please ironmace just let us select all maps all mods by ourselves don't force rotation on us.. the majority disliked rotation ever since it being implemented

right before they added this hybrid rotation we had choice on all maps and modes for about 3 days and i had 0 struggles finding full lobbies. meanwhile now me and my friend experience harder times finding full duo lobbies cause map rotates every 5 minutes or idk why
yesterday a wizard killed me after missing all zaps all fire balls and all ice bolts and he did so by casting 3 arcane missiles towards me when i went to push him and the funny thing is i reacted each time and dodged out of his fire line but uh oh homecoming missles it's ok buddy you keep playing rogue ( better said keep playing victim )
A monthly PvE raid consisting of devs acting as a "dungeonmaster" but not actively there. A mixture of modules, mobs, enemies, and unique traps to help or hurt players. Could be like a "track" where players have to progress from one room to the next after defeating all enemies or triggering certain events. A pvp version would probably be cool. If you wanted active dungeonmaster system on a PVPVE type map, dungeonmaster could be given a point system to generate mobs/subbosses from certain spawns, trigger certain events like weather, etc. the points slowly tick upwards over time. Maybe make a queue where 10 players can join and one is a dungeonmaster. Or you could source dungeonmasters from the community and give them privilege to ensure proper immersive experience
There is not enough portals in goblins. I'm avoiding chests and killing 3-5 players per game and still barely finding portals

Something even just similar to this would be so cool, just having the modules mixed around and not knowing where to go would enhance the game a ton i think. It would actually force players to explore and get caught out in more interesting spots. I think it would be more interesting sticking to PvPvE gamemodes though thats where the fun in this game is

Wall spike traps. I don't see the reason for their existence. I've generally disregarded them up until now, as I've lost a pretty solid kit to one while on my way to a dark corner for healing. However, now I'm really analyzing them. Why do they exist? What purpose do they serve? Is this a skill issue? It can't be, as one must memorize their locations or lean forward far enough to view the mini-map. Even then, if you're in certain parts of the map, they're not displayed. I've avoided them up to Exemplar. Which serves to my point, that they're mostly irrelevant, and serve little purpose to the actual game. They're just a silly, stupid addition to cause occasional annoyances. They should be entirely removed.

Yes but if its explicitly stated that you need to team, it will change the dynamic, plus reduce portals, etc. thats the point. Hey everybody, so i've played on the last update since it came out and i have an idea for the map rotation, it could already been proposed tho.
So i think IM should bring back the rotation system from before where you can only play on rotation, but instead of one map for the size of the team they should up that to two map, so like if you're on trio you could play on goblin / mountain, goblin / ruin, ruin / mountain.
Like that it would reduce the number of match at the same time that they was on the update where you could choose every map on every team scale, and be easier to complete quest and play on the map that you want than the rotation system with only one map for each team scale and the current update.
Tell me what you think of that idea, i guess im not the only one with this concept but if you like it, could be nice to have some feedback. i apologize for bad writing since im not english they could be some mistake ^^ Bye

I suggest puting icons in the map where a portal has spawned, just like the Static Extraction have a icon in the map, this could save frustration from players that have just not been able to hear or see a portal and lost their gear, specially in the goblin caves which seems to be a common occurance.

I think a “no map rotation” event might be a good idea to appease people, like on a weekend once per month. Maybe also modifiers on loot/AP gains to go with it, like some other games to bolster the player base at specific times, but they’d have to really prep the servers for the kinda stress timed events would bring

Frost caves is really unfun when you aggro an entire giant-size room of skeletons without even crossing the room or entering line-of-sight of the enemies. The range that enemies are pulled from is currently way too far. Mobs show up from the other side of doors and break them down as if they were attacked. Furthermore, the permanent death from the black abyss feels pretty awful. Like, it's kinda funny that you could potentially use knockback effects to send people to their deaths, but when your partner spends 8-10minutes minutes clearing every. Last. Skeleton. Save his partner, all of his gear, just to get pushed off a cliff by a skeleton axeman? I understand there's some skill issue here. I just don't think perma-death rooms are necessary for the game to feel fun and complete. It's an interesting idea.
If you are going to add perma-death bottomless pits, I suggest making them trap doors that you can lure players onto, and drop them that way. Some way that the bottomless pit is either, sequestered to a smaller area, or accessible via interactable objects. I still think there should also be a way that players, OR GEAR, might be able to be recovered from the abyss. A special Wish shrine or something similar.

bro how is rogue not weak when they shift wizard (ranged) meta to a melee one and rogues are stuck with bomb smoke on main builds cause everything else sucks ? rogue is the literal victim of this game and if you deny it you are clueless about the game probably stuck in wanderer. yes while fully kitted rogues are a problem they are still gonna lose to a half naked wizard shooting missles to a half naked barb throwing his axe over his head or any plated fighter in green gear. then you have the ranger match up which is skill match up and warlock which 1 shots you if he has bonk spell. on top of all this you have bard which is a rogue but with extra stats that doesn't go invis and has range option which makes him a playuable class unlike rogue.
I really love ice caves. It's a great pve experience that's very tightly designed. It's grown on me a lot since its release. It's also so dense that it prevents people from rushing you or people ratting around easily without dying. I appreciate the specialization of the map, but I do still definitely think we should be going back to map selection so people can pick their favourites and maps they're actually suited to.
yeah ice caves is a great map. The one complaint I have about it is I think the pve density should be adjusted for each mode, so solos would have less, duos would have a bit less, and trios would stay the same.
I actually don't think that. I never have a problem getting to places in duos on the map, so any adjustment to duos is likely to make that pressure making the map pve focused fizzle out. As for solo, the ease of camping a static exit makes it the best solo map already. If anything it's a map suited for solos and duos because trios will struggle to escape if they don't get a raft or the lift or secure multiple rooms. And trios don't need the density reduced at all tbh.
suggestion: since rogue is weak atm make a new perk for double wielding rogue since it's truly the class that should be able to double wield. make the perk not give additional damage nor attack speed! instead make it so that the second weapon equipped gives -0 movment speed debuff
rogue is weak at the moment since wizard (ranged class) meta took a shift towards a melee combat style. half naked barbarians are hard to fight as fully kited rogue and any plated fighter in green gear is just as scary. warlocks are either gonna bonk you once and send you flying all togheter with your 5k gold kit and bards are just rogues with extra stats and ranged option which makes them very strong. the only playable fight for rogues at the moment are rangers and that match up is purely skill based as this games should be.
i hope you realize you could equipp a +2 weapon damage dagger next to your rapier thus increasing overall damage at the loss of poisoned weapon. which is a fair trade considering that when you dual wield you can create combos that attack faster than usual.
now i am not saying this is what they should do. i am just coming up with ideas for some healtier rogue game play since nobody else is

gaining movment speed is very different than not getting a speed debuff. but yes at the end of the day you would not lose movment speed by equipping a second dagger thus having +10 movment speed if you want to call it that.
pretty fast computer and almost never experience FPS lag, but a ghosted wizard or warlock in my face makes my FPS drop hard
make the perk give +10 movment speed for equipping a dagger in any hand and only work if you are dual wielding. don't force 2 daggers on them rather let them use 1 rapier 1 dagger for this perk
mordhau chase mechanic? If you a 2 yards behind your foe you get a VERY slight speed increase. Also nerf move speed on gear.
More perks for the most perk bloated class in the game is absolutely not the way. We need to start combining some of these more useless perks that rogue has.

Idea for Map rotation: Add a little box on the map selection that tells you what the next map and size of party will be so people can plan around it. Additionally, map and size combos that are more popular should appear more frequently... Map rotation can be good, and I do enjoy how it is at this current state.
for my part i say they should remove actual rotation to replace it with a group size rotation. so there will be only 3 choice to increase the player per map and all map will be playable solo duo or trio on a 5minute rotation so the longer u can possibly wait for ur fav map on the partysize you are is 10minute. i do think its the best inbetween we can get i might be wrong but thats my feeling
even better imo i think the actual lobby timer should be 2min30 and the map rotation should be lowered to 2min30 so peoples cant have fuller or lightier lobby by waiting last moment to queue and would make the longest possible time to wait for ur partysize lowered to 5minute. i dont think any1 would complain having to wait 5min to have their ice cave trio to pop up.

Rogue rework suggestions...
Cut Throat: Cancels every magic type of spell or buff for the next 4 seconds.
Ambush: 3 Seconds of actual 50% more damage, not just 1 hit.
Stealth: 15 meters.
Creep: Remove footsteps noise when crouching and opens doors very quietly. (people with good headsets just hear the footsteps currently anyway making is almost useless in high ranks)
Hand Crossbow Mastery: This perk should not be in the game, just let rogues use hand crossbows.
Hidden Pockets: Nobody uses this perk, remove it and just let rogues have hidden pockets, I am already just never having potions in my belt and just quickly grab them from my inventory when I need them...
Hide and Hide Mastery: I think should just merge those perks let stealth be used for like 30s, also reduce Stealth cooldown to like 25s.
Trap Detection Nobody uses this.
I do not have a problem with the low stats you start with cuz can just be fixed with gear, but I do honestly think that currently rogue is just way too weak and is mostly all the time avoiding fights or just playing a playstyle that is literally just to never have to fight other players with double jump and smoke pot...

@peak reef Yo I think the damage thing is the only aspect that you're off the mark on. Rouge ambush already nearly wins you a fight if they dont see you coming.
Other than that yeah I mean if they gave you handcrossbow for no perk, they'd have to weaken hand crossbow cause it is good.

The whole 4 portals on 3v3 gobbo caves for solos has made a lot of people mad. Portals are so hard to find people think its a bug.
But wouldnt you say, get ambushed by pretty much any class is already a nearly win vs any other class?
Rogue is supposed to be slippery, stealthy and deadly specially with classes with low health/protection, I am currently already avoiding most of my fights due I know I will not deal enough damage even if I get them ambushed and get 3 hits on them
No because the other classes dont get 50% more damage which is a lot when you have purple-gold gear.
I have been 1 shotted by gold people by stiletto or rapiers.
In low roller your idea would be okay I think. Rouges stat scaling is the most gear dependent in the game

I was slayer fighter vs a rouge with a 32000 gold kit. He had +12 total true damage and 109% ms. He ambushed me and headshot me and I had about 90 hp left.
I was unsure if it was a headshot but I died instantly so I assumed.

Yeah its the gear that holds rouge down. If they took golds and unique weps out I think you could see some buffs.

Smokepot is the only unbalanced thing rouge currently has imo and thats not even that bad.

What would help is if you could see visible wounds on players maybe. Rouges are good against people who are low health.
Smokepot makes it so its almost impossible to chase you.
And when they come out of it they'll be 30% slower so you can rapier kite them or shoot with handcross.

That alone would not be good enough though, because people would make sure to keep their health above the threshold if they knew that was a threat, so maybe give som other sort of passive buff when near someone low on health?
Maybe minimal life steal on melee hits to help with rogues sustain issues

Almost every class has some sort of healing enhancement option, so I think rogues should have a perk that helps with physical healing maybe.
@peak reef there is a texture difference, but it is hard to tell tbh. The unique spellbook for example has runes glowing off it
It should have a clear indicator, like glowing in purple or something that makes you be aware that dude is dangerous you know? I had no clue I was trying to kill a dude with my green hand crossbow while he hit me twice and I instantly died with his legendary spell book
Yeah it wouldn't be balanced if they always made noise. A threshold would allow for counterplay so everyone didn't always know where you are.
And if they're invisible they shouldn't make noise even on 1 hp cause of the invis magic.

The way Devs block players who use hacks is the best way to kill this game, playing all week testing the entire class, only meeting new players under low rank, 121 health with basic equipment and some green, sticky equipment. 1 holy strike and 2 hits with smite when equipped with blue staff, surprisingly every game encounters exactly that 1 person living with 1 HP, Devs only block for a few hours then release again, Fuck the report and Ban system IRONMACE

Don't change staff mastery, it's fine; the reason people think it's too much is no one builds any magic resist when 150g is enough to get 1 piece of gear and get to 60% resist. The ONLY class that has no counter play for it is Rogue which needs a rework ANYWAY.
What piece of gear gives you that much MR? Pavise?
Northern Full Tunic with Iron Will but you can supplement it on other classes with Sanctum for those that can wear plate or Runestone Gloves and those new boots. In addition now EVERYONE has access to shields and Melee wizard is stopped dead by most shields due to it's low impact.
Add a bounty system for players can interact with in the pregame lobby. Increase count down to 15 seconds before a match starts. The board should show players in the lobby whos character hasn't been killed in X amount of high roller games. If your name is on the board, your character has extracted x times. Players should be able to click the name, and inspect that player from the bounty board, so they know what they look like. Killing the player awards AP multiplied by the extraction rate of that player. Then of course you would have to add a very very small multiplier for players extracting X amount of times without dying. It doesnt have to be in this format but anything like this would be neat
so basically have a whole lobby chase one guy

just an idea, A dueling mode, 2 players can bet items or gold to duel for or just for fun no bet duels: could also be expanded upon with leaderboard system, team duels, duel for each others whole sets, win streaks ect.

rogues are very squishy most of the time. But I could definitely see a rework for what gear Rogues are allowed to carry, or the "soft-max" of various stats like vigor.
Ah yes cause a wizard in full blues 1 tapping me in purple/legendary because he made a bigger torch is "balanced", just decrease the scaling on the perk by like 75% and people wont complain
LETS CLARIFY COMMUNITY, all together. "Teaming" should be a term only used for players that are intentionally hunting other players together. Gaining an advantage in player to player combat by intentionally creating an impromtu team in a solo game is damaging for players who just want to collect some loot and leave.
We need a different term for players who are peaceful with each other. PVP in solos is not always required. With limited portals and no one dying to mobs, you might have to fight for your exit. Game Theory clearly shows that being friendly often leads to achieving higher scores. If you are unfamiliar with this, Veritasium on youtube has good info.
If there are peaceful players looting an area together, like boss treasure piles, and someone else CHARGES IN with murderous intent. The players looting there are defending themselves. That is not the same thing as intentionally creating a team and hunting down players, as we have seen in the past from certain server environments. (ref. SpudHunter youtube channel. lol.)
Peaceful Looters, "PvE Focused" players. This is the way.
I'm tired of people complaining about teaming. When they show up into a room, kill everyone there because they had god-tier gear; or die to players defending themselves because they didn't. Then they immediately go on chat channels to complain about teaming and publicly denounce people for cheating at the game. It's not the same.
Sometimes if you encounter players standing near each other, you can use Proxy chat to ASK what is going on. if they aren't into PVP, and you're spoiling for a fight, perhaps you look else where or challenge one of them to a duel. lol. Proxy chat is a great feature and should be used more. 🙂
Text chat would be useful if a player didn't have a mic... Give us chat that appears above our heads lol
I mean just because person 1 and 2 are friendly doesnt mean I should be required to be friendly as well. A truce is still considered teaming whether it involes combat or not
you are not required to do anything. But there are consequences that you may be responsible for should you decide to cast the first stone. That is your decision and players defending should not be penalized for having a truce with each other that you interjected on. That is how life, politics and everything works.
Players should 100% be penalized because they chose to queue into solos and look for the protection committee
True, true and true. Absolutely agree. Too bad, that large portion of audience here are deaf and blind to anything, but monkey with stick game style. I've preached the same here for many, MANY times, said many times that you DON'T HAVE TO always charge at any person you see, that there is place for just a friendly hello and just looting each their own corner of the module and even trading the loot on spot. And I've said many times, that the only, THE ONLY reasons to have a 100% choice towards violence are: 1 - you are attacked first (even then you can still negotiate, there is still a chance, I did it), 2 - there are less exits from the map, than there are players near it. DONE. It is sad, that most people are only going inside the dungeon with the sole goal of fighting all and everything, and it is hillarious that they are complaining getting killed by those, who, instead of throwing axe at first sight, just decided to say "Hi! How's going?", then cry "TeAmErS!!!! REEEEEEEE!!!!111" in discord, lol.

People who w key everyone they see deserve to be stomped by “teamers”, learn some tactical thinking lol, it’s always people that are like “I hate teamers because I went looking for a fight and bit off more then I could chew, waaah”, just kill them all then, it’s always the people playing classes that have inherent advantage in 1v1 situations complaining too, like barbs and fighters who just run everyone they see down
