Funny that you think campfires are "too expensive" and that a wizard having 20+ strength ONLY from +all equipment is not a "kitted player" ---> me and my trios have some of the best gear on the server, we are kitted beyond belief, yet we have the issue of our wizard dealing no damage to barbs and warlocks, and about half the damage he should to non-50% MR classes.
We have tons of clarity pots, we have tons of campfires. We're making more than enough gold to use 5 campfires a run, yet it does not change much. The fact is, he's chugging clarity pots while we're fighting a buffball team, in order to kill their backline- then we're left to kite the barbarian for 2 minutes while repeatedly casting spells until he finally drops.
The amount of clarity potions I have on ALL my characters would make this point moot. But let's say sure you don't have any clarity potions because you literally never live a game so you have no money to buy a campfire. Just use meditate. Or you can also just not use your spells as much save them and use them smartly and leave early
Do you even know that every player has a hidden -10% magic resist?

@mystic crystal check the link, that's a really well-geared barbarian, who chose to drop 20% of his MR in order to get more interaction speed. While buffed by his bard, he's still above 65%. Even 3 BoC headshots with my purple falch won't be enough to deal half his HP.
You can often buy like 20 of them for like 100g or less in the trade channels sometimes.
Also if you watch wizard streamers play, on average they come out of the dungeon with more clarity pots than they go in with. If you don't die and kill just a few people you can often keep the clarity pots running strong.
You really think that 5 fireballs and 5 zaps are not enough to kill a Barbarian?
Sure, 5 direct hit headshots, if you're on a similar level of gear. As for the "hidden" 10% magic resist, it was off-set this patch by them increasing the value of each point of magic resist, while simultaneously increasing the amount of magic resist from gear by over 50%.
That's bullshit, i was kitted as him once and a Warlock took half of my hp in 10 seconds with Curse of Pain

No, that's bullshit. This person's got better gear than literally everyone who will read this message, including myself. Unless you're running HR bossing in a god comp, with insanely good players, or you've got an artifact, you're likely unable to achieve that level of gear without RMTing.
Oh yeah, the 10% does stay, but they've also got 50% higher magic resistance on average, so youknow, it doesn't change much- people are at minimum 30% tankier against magic this patch than they were last. Barbarians with a bard teammate? Twice as high.
Personally I think the warlock's shield is way too strong and needs toned down.
He can land a single CoP on a wizard and spam shield a few times and easily outtrade the wizard. And him spamming shield can quickly burn through wizard spell slots and leave them resourceless.
45 damage on direct hit, you can easily get to 60/70 with gear, cut by 43% is around 45/50, this without headshot. 50 x 4 = dead Barbarian, and i didn't even consider the hidden-10% mdr

Its not necessarily that the barb specifically is broken either to clarify, but the way his gear works right now is what is crazy

I mean that's true, but it's also widely acknowledged that the warlock is the best class at higher gear, for both pvp and pve. A good warlock in particular can turn a barbarian of any level of gear useless, by summoning hydras beneath his feet each time he goes for a swing.
Oh and that rangers should not exist in their current form.
I think that enough is plenty reason to use the shield.

Just means your hp will be ticking down by like 0.5% through curse of pain, while unable to hit anyone cause each time you swing you get bounced outside of melee range.

No, 45 is the base damage of a fireball without magical power and additional/true magical damage, a kitted Wizard could deal even more than 100 with one Fireball

I do agree that Warlock is in a really weird state right now. They have a lot of cheese. And in certain chokes and whatnot they are completely S+ tier, if they have the magic healing to recover relentlessly spamming hydras
But if youre killing the hydras, dodging theyre curses and theyre wasting them on their hydra for heals back u can outplay a warlock without him even realizing it.

I don't really want to reopen a discussion, but I'll send some of my data:
Classes have varying negative damage reduction without armor/MR. It depends on class, but on average most classes actually have positive magic resist while completely naked, unlike PDR which is always negative 5-25% while at 0 armor.
This is partly because of the will stat giving MR, and the first 10% being valued extremely low, but in most cases just having absurd base MR.
Rogues at 5 will has -10% MR, bards at 7 will has -4%, barbarians, for some reason, has 11.6% while naked. This is increased to 27% while completely naked, if running the MR perk. A barbarian in full grey barbarian gear goes up to 40% MR.
A good geared barbarian goes up to 65% with the perk(+all gear), 80% with the bard buff, and significantly higher with % magic damage reduction on gear. You can theoretically get a buffball to 95% MDR(unless theyve lowered the cap) by simply building around it, in which case no amount of fireballs headshots will scratch his 150 point health bar. It also means he is unkillable because of gear.
U can get mad mdr and pdr with grey/white gear on barb so it doesnt need to be well geared
Do whatever you want with this information, but keep in mind that before this wipe the highest MR you could ever hope to achieve on a barbarian(highest MR class) would've been 80%, meanwhile they now have baseline 60% with bard buffs, while being able to achieve 70% PDR and 100+% speed, too.

It's clowd, so I definitely believe it. Personally I just think you shouldn't be able to achieve high amounts of both MR as well as PDR, unless you're sacrificing other stats for it
Barbarians being the hard counter only bothers me at really high-end levels of gear/skill(since it takes away from the skill of high-end pvp), but it does bother me that theyre the fastest, strongest and tankiest class with the highest damage reduction on average(when they should just have high HP + MR)
The -10% additive MR reduction is really nice though, means that you'll always deal at least 15% damage to a barbarian focusing solely on MR
Well yeah, i don't think it's balanced as it is, but it is indeed balanced for mid gear atm.

Yeah mid gear is kinda fine, it's annoying that a guy in greens/blues can tank both me(warlock) and a wizard while opening a portal, but there's so many ways to play around it(like fireballing or hydra'ing to move him)

Oh yeah, I forgot Iron Will does that now since many barbs choose not to run the perk cause they have so much MR from other sources, and so much HP/speed that they don't really need it. They just jump over the fireball, or jump to get knocked closer to the wizard.
Rage already has a built in debuff, the -20% pdr is hardly noticeable for low gear and it becomes a huge debuff for geared Barbarians (due to diminishing returns of hp after 50 str), it's unthinkable to nerf the only skill that makes the class playable

The -20% PDR doesn't do anything for any level of gear, as it's massively off-set by their enormous health pool + speed to make the cost more than worth it. IMO rage should be sacrificing DR by a subtractive/flat % cost(maybe 15) rather than a multiplicative cost based on your current DR(like the thrust perk for rogues, this is a near useless)
There is question mark in brackets, mate. It is a number set as an example. -5 would be enough, if the move and attack speed are lowered. Besides - that is how the rage works in Dungeons & Dragons, which is a base for this game. Furthermore, it is not that barb is playable for 8 seconds only. he is playable ALL THE DAMN TIME, while he can just become a super saiyan with a snap of fingers and not to receive any penalty after what supposed to be a move beyond the mortal limitations.

@strong grotto no, any debuff after the Rage will make the class bad, you Rage, close the gap, then you get stuck with -5 all and can't even play the game until the debuff ends
That's only how the frenzy barbarian's rage works in DnD; regular barbs don't get exhausted after using it, and they become tankier + deals more damage, not faster + takes more damage like it does in DaD
Well, that's true of 5e, but older versions of D&D usually had rage increase str/con/will save while lowering armor class in exchange
Should I just stop bringing gear into goblin caves? I play as a fighter go in barebones and atleast I dont care about getting teamed against which is everyother match I bring in gear get swarmed by teams in "solos" and it just makes the games feel stacked idk

Uh-huh, and currently barb just rages to move at MK5 speed and then STILL able to kill you in 1-2 hits. B for balance. That supposed to make him use that rage to ASSURE his win in 8 seconds and if he fails - to make other classes be able to punish him for that. Without it - barb is just a stat check. No brain function required.
Well, barbs using rage will probably take at most 5-15 more damage/weapon attack at higher end gear. I wasn't referring to the HP increase from rage, though, but rather their HP in total, which more than makes up for the -6% PDR that they suffer during rage(thus allowing them to be the tankiest class despite rage, for both PDR and MR).
But while we're on that note, their rage should not be giving them HP; instead they should be receiving phys power, if anything. It's intended to be a reckless skill that makes you take more damage during it, while allowing you to close gaps with faster classes.
Now, I would love to see them become a lot easier to kill during their rage- but I wouldn't mind it giving them more damage, overall. My favorite time to play barb was when you ran no-chest + rage, morale boost + carnage + berserker while being relatively squishy and I want that back.

When queuing HR, make it costs 100g. 50g disappears when queued and the other 50g deposits into your inventory . This would incentivize doing HR by making it cheaper and riskier. Would also make teaming less likely. OSRS has a similar system for their Revenant Caves
That is funny, because barb doesn't even need to rage with all the HP, resistances and the damage he has. Right now the rage is only used to CATCH UP to someone. Not to insure a kill or survival.
FFS, when I play barbarian, and I am NOT A GOOD PLAYER, average at best, my survival and kill rate SKYROCKETS with how easy the class is. And you all trying to say he doesn't need some kind of nerf, when someone as bad at game as I am is simply able to hop on the class and raise his extraction rates from like 35-40% to 80-90%? That's stupid, people. Barb NEEDS to be nerfed or other classes need to be brought up to his level of godhood.
Rage is like, the last good barbarian skill, even with the increased damage taken.

You are easier to kill when using Rage, the damage increase is barely noticeable and the increased hp is fully compensated by the -20% pdr, you don't become more tanky with Rage, you actually take more damage. When the skill ends the temporary hp gets converted, it doesn't act as a shield
That's exactly why the skill is good, increased hp is a scam cause -20% pdr fully compensate the extra health and damage buff is barely noticeable
A raging Barbarian becomes less tanky, that's enough, you are more tanky only vs magic with Rage
The built in pdr penalty is there to give minor debuff to low gear Barbarians and huge debuff to high gear Barbarians, the more str you have the more damage you take
It's the speed that's the prob, combined with barbs' innate tankiness and damage. They can't be the fastest, tankiest, and strongest in terms of damage. That doesn't make sense.
If you want rage to actually affect how you play other than having it allow you to W key and not care what people throw at you, it has to ACTUALLY increase the amount of damage you take. I would say by at least 20%, but preferably more.
(Of course I'm biased, cause I like how barb used to be played when gobbos came out)
It's worth noting that several mechanics interact with Rage's PDR Debuff in novel ways.
But it really needs to be broken up in the Class Trainer system, a class having its whole kit in one button is awful design.
No, the problem is the overall pdr, not Rage, Barb needs to be fast, this or give him a ranged weapon like Fighter, and trust me you don't want a ranged weapon that can oneshot on body

I don't want the tankiest class to be faster than rogues either. As for the gap close, it should come at a cost(increased damage taken), and the "cost" is currently not real.
50% PDR going down to 40%, while his MR remains at 60% and his HP increases by 15 flat, really only results in him taking at most 20 more damage throughout a fight, while dealing more extra damage than what he "sacrifices", and being able to catch anyone assuming he's got a decent base speed(as all good barbs do).
To put into perspective, I would rather they don't nerf barbarian gear's ability to go up to high amountsof MR and PDR, if they instead make rage convert a huge chunk of their tankiness into damage/speed.

Optimization for the main map needs done to prevent players from leaving. I'm on a i7-7700k1080ti and it's becoming an issue on the lowest settings with no anti aliasing.
Crypts lags way more than the other two maps, especially after the last update added more mobs and other objects.
Might need to roll back some of the added objects and optimize the models first. The shear number of dead mobs on the map doesn't help either.

yeah the attack was blocked yet half my health keeps getting dropped because the falchion, or maybe the shields themselves, is bugged and phases through the shield and gets a headshot.
Idk if ur getting headshot put if not blocked properly i do know the falchion will slash your arm and do dmg. Its happened to me a lot when i was learning
i get why an axe would do that, but a falchion should not reach when it was blocked and its hit chain not interrupted because it counted a hit and a block for some reason
If you're a non magic class you should be able to use the casting book or crystal ball as a projectile

Match mechanism is not reasonable, from the full set to win a few times, start to match the 1-3 team 50 power Barbarians, 50 power poets. And when I die a few times, I start to match some naked people, and even people can't match.
Warlock Blow of Corruption needs the base magic damage nerf, to any given class off base kit. It hits like 40+ HP
I can't understand the design, I need to run out 3-4 times to earn my equipment money back, and I usually get killed after 1-2 times.
This makes it almost impossible for me and my friends to play the game unless we use the matching mechanism in a despicable way

Might have something to do with impact aswell as sometimes shield will block properly and other times it don't do shit
He is saying that the net profit on extracting from normal crypts is 100-200g but the kit to do it with is 500-700g so if you have to extract 3-5 times to break even. If you get normal lobbies with full purple pub stompers every 2-3 games then you can never get ahead
I play the game every day atleast 20 games a day I'd say and I have not had this issue crypts profit is only 100-200 if you're not going to inferno. I've been a pub stomper and been a pub stompee I can say safely this isn't the case in most matches imo just play a higher volume of games ig
But you are the exception. We are not talking about this for the top 10% of players, we are talking about the fresh blood every game needs to keep attracting too maintain a healthy population.
Only way to get good as a fresh is to play a high volume of every map. Plus we have a separate queue for under level 15 for this reason
If the game isnāt accessible to new or casual players (I.e. keeping high gear comps out of normal lobbies) then they wonāt stick around and we lose our player base

Not saying mordauh level gameplay, and your right this would not be easy to implement this late in development, but not impossible weapons already have hit boxes it would be a matter of making them interact with each other similar to how the shield works, not easy but definitely worth it for the long term survival of the game.

Dear Ironhammer, I cannot play the game because my stash is always full and every goblin cave I do, I have to spend 1 hour to spam trade chat to sell items, and then camp utility trade to buy a golden key cause the gold doesn't fit in my stash, either add an auction house where the item can sit while I play the videogame OR add stash tabs available to purchase for blue/red currency stones, thanks much love

GC;Ruins; and lvl 15 lobbys destroyed normal crypts, im not a sweety nor good player but iv always liked crypts and played rougue BUT my rougue playstyle wasnt the stand on a door for 60 secs I jus played and goffed arround my problem is I dont like GC rougue and ruins for me is a ranger map so I can only play crypts wich now turned into a for BIS highroller rejects playground were im in the DEFAULT dungeon playing my class but because the solos go to GC and the rejects with purples come here I cant play my NORMAL DUNGEON with MY NORMAL GEAR,
In my opinion we dont have enough people to have this type of divison in queues like in playtest 4 all that was was the crypts a the solos duos defaults and semi geared went there so it was balanced and fun now its just budget high roller.
damage stats should only be on weapons. let armor, rings, and pendants have other rolls for builds. the 1-2 shot meta is ruining the accessibility and fun of the game. IMO

Right now we have a lobbies full of legendary-purple geared guys ... if they meet equally geared team they just chill and refuse to fight since their only goal is to kill low geared people and dominate game. Moreover ... skill do not matter ... any semi-geared warlock can solo kill two squads rushing him from, both sides

What can be a reason I could have been falsely banned?
- I received a report from players because we often used Bardās invisibility in the crypt, appearing out of nowhere and killing whole packs of well-dressed trios.
- On the ban day I went to play a solo crypt and showed up at the respawn next to the pyramid with death skulls. I killed several, went upstairs and began to open the chest, after which I was thrown back in the staggers, the inscription "ended abnormally" appeared. Maybe game thought I have some sort of hacks cause I was teleported quite big distance back in staggers.
- I found a case where a person was banned after he looted his disconnected friend, the same thing happened to us and one of our trio DC and asked to kill him, we took his things off him. All of this recorded on the twitch as a VOD.
Once again - I swear, I have never used cheats or other programs to get any ingame advantage. Cheating - disgusting for me. I never teamed with other players (I'm not playing goblin caves at all)

Getting one shot from BoC and a white falchion on someone in starter gear when i have +4 all atts and about 150 hp total and missing a little less then 30 hp as a barbarian at the time. Who thought it was a good idea to let warlocks use a falchion and not an arming sword instead?

Falch has already been dumpstered so hard that a warlock fighting another warlock, both with BoC, is better off using the staff to attack with BoC than the falch, leave the falch the fuck alone before its worthless to fighters and bards

Ranger needs to lose a lot of hitslow from their ranged attacks, and could also stand to lose 1 field ration charge and the 10% power bonus when using the spear perk. The real issue with "ranger" right now isn't a "ranger" issue but a "we let people get +8 phys dmg on a single piece of gear teehee" issue, it's just most egregious on ranger because they can lob 80 base damage nukes from range

You're half right, but it's actually worst on rogue. Dagger attack speed combined with +50 damage on various pieces of gear coming out of stealth there's essentially no counterplay other than 'guess where the rogue is hiding' or 'bring warlock hydra or wizard light orb'
It's rare, because ranger can be played at all levels and rogue is essentially only good at high gear play rn, but when you encounter it hahaha it's the least fun thing in the world.

I would love to know if ironmace counts artificer class as a main/possible class since its been in dnd since ebberon and then showed even more official attention in {T.C.O.E}, this would be a great addition to dark and darker being a legit hybrid class, caster melee they could take it either way, take inspiration from any one of its subclasses would be awesome and a great addition, I'm curious what ironmace thinks about this. either way I hope the answer is yes, but I do realize as well the time money and effort required to accomplish such a task would be a back burner thought in and of itself.

How would everyone feel if there was a stat on gear like "spell regen either % or # based"? I feel like if they did a small % that was less than resting, it could do well for continuity. It could enable different builds, all the while diluting the stat pool making the RNG more difficult for everyone to get the stats they want.
suggestion = solo run, less pvp more pve related, map that the only requirment is you can only wear your starter gear. The idea being that the map will be very low tier loot but will allow the offset for other players to aqcuire money at a slower but steadier rate. will also provide a means for all those free gray items everyone is trying to get. idk just a thought.

You push them they cast 3 headed serpants and 3 spells that kill you before you can. Gear should for sure have a huge part in it as this game is legit about getting gear and leaving.

Add Anti heal to game to counter warlocks. Warlocks is one of the strongest classes rn that is heal dependent. But what doesnt make sense is the only class that has a anti heal ability is warlock. So the only counter to warlock is a warlock.
Problem is not about them being matchmade in the unequal gear. Problem is the gear gap is too big, and the game has a battle system that is too shallow. Right now it is just a stat check fiesta with someone being able to tank 5-6 hits, while the other is 1-2 hit maximum. We just need some kind of dodge mechanics that isn't just you walking in and out baiting the hit and some form of fencing, maybe weapon on weapon collision, maybe every weapon having a block or parry, anything really. Because right now, if you unable to take a shield or good armor - you just swing in the general direction of the enemy in hope, that you will kill him before he kills you. Incredible fun (no).
Matchmaking by gear would be terrible for the game. It makes sense by level since the is a perk disparity but for gear would literally make zero sense

Max rolled damage on a white falch, which you claimed he was using, is 33. On base gear, NOT using a magic staff, BoC does about 39 to the head. I'm going to go ahead and assume you were wearing at least the starter helmet, which would give you 12% headshot reduct and 15 magic resist, which combined with barb's already decent magic resist should chop the damage down to a maximum of ((33x1.38)+38) or about 84 damage. If, as you claim, you had ~120 hp, you shouldn't have been oneshot.
Being able to do 84 damage with a single hit to a higher magic resist class while playing a caster should not be allowed in any galaxy. As Fighter I've been one shot by warlocks at least a dozen times.
I am not accurately calculating the actual damage of BoC vs barbarian's base or Iron will supplimented magic resist I just knocked one damage off for argument's sake.

BoC's anti-heal effect doesn't work on second wind so just do that lol, also what's the difference between getting hit with BoC and getting direct hit with a fireball, both are going to shred a fighter, at least with BoC you can try to block it
false the range on falchion is supposed to be shorter, but for some reason either the first or the third hit seems to have hella range over an arming sword. Maybe its because of the attack animation? Also the fact that it can hit over shields is absurd, it's not an axe, it's a glorified machete.
My point is a caster should not be outclassing melee classes in melee, and also warlock starts with like -4% phys power which really has negligible impact. Second wind will not outheal curse/sac just keep you at roughly the same health, so if you get cursed/sacd, then bocd, you're autodead
Why is it not ok for warlocks to have a skill that lets them do a max of ~40 extra damage on a hit but nobody seems to care that clerics can add +10 (actually works out to ~+15) to every hit they land for 7s
And prevent headshot damage for (at least) one hit with protect bubble, and add +5 more damage to each hit with a spell if they feel like it, and wear heavy armor if they want

Because cleric can't do damage and heal at the same time, and cleric does sustained damage with that ability which is predictable and counterable whereas warlock applies it all at once. Cleric needs a nerf, but warlock also needs a nerf, those aren't mutually exclusive things, and Cleric's melee is not the issue. On the other hand, Warlock causes issues with their: Melee strength, Healing potential, Spell utility, Spell damage.
ALSO 2 agility difference is a MUCH bigger deal than a 2 strength difference, Warlock has 2 less STR than fighter which is more an issue with fighter's stat line but still.

ive played a lot of cleric and he does have poor selection, if you are running it properly you will always have a shield and pick from 1 of 2 maces, which realistically will be the flanged mace because of quicker attack speed and better pattern, morning star does more damage and breaks boxes and barrels in 1 hit which is amazing, but the pattern and attack speed arent that good

it may not be because falchions are bugged but shields. I see alot of weapons that just phase through my shield entirely and hit me while i held block and even get a sound and animation that i blocked the hit
If any part of the weapon contacts any part of you at the same time as/before hitting your shield you will get a sound and animation indicating you blocked but will still take damage, it's possible that shields are bugged rn but the more likely explanation is that you're doing it wrong

As I've told you time and time again falchions are less dps than arming swords due to swinging much slower but not doing enough extra damage to compensate and because of this slow swing speed they ARE in line with other 1h weapons, you also continue to ignore the fact that morning stars deal more damage than falchions and are only slightly slower.
Let's not forget that your initial complaint was that you got killed in 1 hit from over 120 hp on barb to a white falchion wielded by a base kit warlock using BoC and as I have shown that is not possible, so you either can't tell when you see a cheater or you are lying

I'll leave this in both sections, but the AI needs tweaking. There needs to be significant increase in the awareness, line of sight, and unit collision of NPC's. People feel no challenge from the mobs, just annoyance. That's why no one does end game content and instead farms lower geared people because its more of an enjoyable experience than getting stuck on mobs, chased through walls, or lack of any kind of unique awareness or actions from any mobs other than bosses. Which barely have personality as is. At this point maybe removing the mobs for the time being and leaving focus on the gear and pvp so things can feel more rounded. Just some thoughts.
(That would work out to around 105 dmg roughly not really taking into account barb pdr and mdr)

I disagree. The total amount of damage would be higher then an arming sword if it hits harder but slower. An arming sword is just a bit faster but less overall damage. You'll need almost twice as many hits with an arming sword to kill base gear players compared to the falchion. two to four hits with a gray falchion normally gets the job done assuming each player has base gear. an arming sword takes 4-6 depending on hit locations.
Iāve been enjoying rogue and ranger while I can get weapon damage everywhere, but mage is probably the next class Iāll learn, have been playing a tiny bit of it and fuck it feels good when you chain lightning 2 people and run down the 3rd

Ok, like what, a shield? Shields are aight, good against rangers, but if you've ever used falch/shield you'll know that it's very tight timing to be able to swing your weapon between blocks, for some enemies/weapon types you can't really get away with it at all.
Or maybe you meant a crystal orb? Yeah, I mean, if the warlock wants to be 25ms slower just to avoid swapping to a book instead, lol. Running falch/ball makes both kiting/casting worse due to the slowdown from the falch and melee fighting worse due to the slowdown from the ball. At high gear levels warlocks can mitigate this with additional agility and movespeed but running falch/ball at low-mid gear is a noob trap imo.
A lantern with good stats on it is about the only argument you have here and even that is shaky.
The only thing falchion has on arming sword is the ability to take down squishy classes in less hits than arming sword
Even then, during the rogue landmine days, they'd kill you before your second swing even went off

Falch used to be busted as hell but it has been brought in line after 2 specific nerfs and a general weapon damage range rebalancing and tbh it's already at a point that I just don't use it if I can avoid it

hello just an idea taken from another game. in Fortnite they would have static campfire spawns that you would just walk up to and light. could be a cool addition. i know it could be OP for some classes so maybe make them a blue flame that only regens abilities or a red flame that only does health or something like that. just thought it was a cool idea
Would be interesting to see something like the blue portals popping up and staying up till the zone closes in again to prevent people from camping them, and creates a sense of urgency to find one and extract. It would be a problem though for the last couple of zones cause the circle closes a little faster but Iām sure something can be worked out.

Ranger is good. It is damage of the weapons that is too high with mitigation and avoidance of damage options are too low due to how shallow the battle system is. Also, they just need to allow for traps to be sprung with attacks and/or torches thrown.
Well, I would mostly agree. With the exceptions of: arrows shouldnāt slow on hit, and food rations shouldnāt be an instant heal. Bow damage needs to be reduced like crazy, and if they are gonna give them all those tools, including spears and traps, their movement speed shouldnāt be so good. Makes it hard to close the distance.
Meanwhile, they 2 or 3 shot most classes.
If arrows wouldn't slow - ranger wouldn't be able to kite anyone and thus be a ranger. He is built like a range fighter and that is what he does. Deal with it. Besides, wouldn't you be slowed at least for a moment when big piece of wood with pointy metal shiny spike on it hit you with a speed and force penetrating your leg or chest? Yeah. I don't think so too.
Rations are just a crutch for new players and solos. They don't require any tuning.

The problem with ranger is not about ranger himself. It is the shallowness of battle system that turns any encounter into a stat check. Rangers are just able to stat check you from a distance.

nerf damage on limb shots, increase slow duration, you could have increased accuracy for the longer you hold it until a point then it reverts to worse accuracy and eventually misfire? indirectly nerfs quickshot and rapid firing.

A longbow at a light weight sits at 80-100lbs draw, recurves can hit that high as well and both can push 120lbs draw, there is not a world where you hold that back longer than a few seconds lol, only works with modern compounds.

The average draw for battle type bow is 80-110 pounds, which is roughly 40-55 kilos (for those who don't live in the la-la-land and use good system measures, lol). Tell me how easy it is for you to keep that kind of weight fully drawn for extended period of time. Or better yet - show us. Make a video.
Not sure what kind of skill checks you did imagine, in my head it is simple gauge that gradually fills and depletes after reaching the peak of it, while having a certain place on it marked as the "perfect draw". Is that really so complicated? At least now people wouldn't be complaining about rangers having zero skill.

its not really Rangers having 0 skill, some do but its about the weapon attributes making the class itself broken, literally get 1 shotted if i dont have projectile defense or a helmet, just because they have green gear with +2 weapon damage on every slot.
Some rangers are cracked landing headshots and stuff, its just the abilities being scuffed and the attributes on gear

I think their intention is a role based meta, so wizards are strong against melee fighters, weak to rangers, rangers are weak to a fighter, etc. the game is balanced around 3 man teams although it seems that they might be attempting some sort of solo balance based on their q&a.
@woven oak even thatās a very long time lol, traditionally the bow would release at the moment it was at full draw, arrow trajectory can change dramatically if you donāt standardize your motions since even the slight over/under pull or miss alignment of the string means your not hitting what you want, consistency is key.
Now this is a video game of course but I recommend looking at the game Kingdom Come for an attempt at a realistic bow, doesnāt have to be that dramatic but being able to hold back your bow with increasing inaccuracy the longer you have it drawn would go a long way to raising the skill floor while also making bows less dangerous overall since you canāt just hold a door way full drawn for minutes at a time lol
agreed, range based would feel good. Being able to toggle and option to go into any game regardless of gear would be cool too

yea i agree honestly, except that 3 man teams not balanced, fighter can get 3 shotted by a felling axe barbarian? really? is that the fronline class compared to a "high risk high reward" class? where your ability makes it so you take more damage but do more damage? The classes are so scuffed its not funny. Some classes have only 2 abilities that are useful out of the 10 they got. In some classes all the abilities are useful, example is warlock

2 is good but the problem in the first option isnt smirfing, that would just make the second option worse if we look at smurfing problems, and the first option wouldnt increase the queue time with higher gear because go figure, high roller is there for a reason. but yea second option would be so much more better for the game, add a bit of skill to it like EFT
You're genuinely interesting to engage with, the fluidity is a fair point yeah, but id argue trying to spam shoot would have worse accuracy then holding the draw for e.g 2s typical yeah you should be firing before 8 seconds for a longbow for optimal aim. but you could definitely hold it longer to prove a point. in this scenario we would say the ranger is a war archer or soldier. very different to an Olympic athlete which primarily focuses in accuracy and not draw weight. im trying not to get too into the physics details otherwise we could start suggesting rangers could see their tragectory and make curve shots etc etc. but atm i think range needs some adjustments and that melee needs more skill expressions

Honestly? If they don't improve the fighting mechanics - I agree. The triple shot and multishot are both burst damage skills, and burst damage is BAD for the PvP, since it only makes the "stat checking" problem worse.
It could be interesting for rapid shot to change the aiming focal point in the middle to a random position within a crosshair gradient. if that makes sense. happy to try clarify what I mean
Agreed 100% - what kind of combat improvements do you think they could add? I think making blocking / riposte a more consistent feature across weapons would be good
yea, fighters should get MAJOR buff to their already existing abilities, and clerics. Like for fighters the taunt seems like a really good ability right? Wrong its so useless i might as well use second wind. Alright alright what about an ability that does dmg and heals you, victory strike right? takes skill in knowing hits on pve aswell. . . wrong, its so useless its insane, 5% heal? really? basically needing to do this process 20 times on different targets to heal 100%, and the damage being 10% is basically nothing unless you have a weapon that does insane damage.
And what about the cleric? more defense ability? useless, you already got protection spell. Smite? you got judgement for quick damage early in fights against squishy but high dmg dealing enemies, or slow ones. Just shows how much ideas went into the game with the wrong balancing.

if that is the mechanic then I have been scammed - I parried with my shield twice and the BoC still affected me on the 3rd hit
I think they might considering that this is not a match making system as much as a way to encourage geared players into highroller, something which I believe they have been trying to do with only marginal success for a while.

At the end of the day it is a video game and they can explain away any mechanic they see fit, seems they are laser focused on getting the items in a good spot and then they will focus on the class perk reworks etc, itās in their scope! Iām sure ranger will be addressed sooner than later, seems they want to get the new quiver in before they start screwing around with ranger, skill floor needs to be raised to be inline with other classes for sure!
@hazy condor fighters are capable of out pacing barb and a sword and board fighter played right can out trade as well, key is avoiding the headshot and playing reactionary to the barbs movement, punishing whiffs etc. I find most fighter vs barb situations do lean towards the barb just based on how easy the barb is to play relatively, but get a barb friend to start swinging at ya in pregame lobby and focus on spacing and not getting hit and youāll see how fast they are forced to aim for the legs lol

A well placed block and even a warmaul does 0 damage. Getting up and close is actually to the fighters advantage since you can shield-stuff the barb and a lot of the two handlers canāt even swing lol. Thereās a really good video floating around that showcases the shield mechanics, one of the skill floor hurdles of fighter or getting to a point where you can rely on your shield to react the way you want it to, just takes practise.

brother, i use longsword, occasionally shields, but if they have crush its literally a DISADVANTAGE to BLOCK against their ATTACKS which is just a joke, because they swing faster and you do 0 damage if you block even, except with longsword but that sometimes doesnt even register since Ironmace is so good at doing patches (the parry doesnt registers i mean)
Also i didnt want to look hostile if i did Paisley, its just how bad the updates are, it got to me lately.
There is no windows down in the Mariana Trench, mate. There is no light or reason either...
With longsword the blade can resist very little impact, the swings on large weapons donāt bounce so your parry is purely to setup riposte since youāll have to either trade the hit or dodge it while parrying. Blocking the attack against crush without proper spacing will just setup yourself for the second hit, but blocking should be purely defensive against a barb unless shield stuffing a felling axe etc. you can out footwork a barb and punish their whiffs, match their rage with your sprint and stay reactionary and youāll fair very well
not really, blocking and going backwards is slower than attacking and going forward
@rigid prawn tangent btw, in paladins there is a character you throw coins in a random direction, you can shoot it to richochet shots in a orb around the coin, allowing you to shoot around corners etc. one of the most fun and engaging mechanics ive encountered for a fps.
Id love to see more fleshed out mechanics in other games.
having some ranger skills that are more than just "buffs your ranged attacks in various ways for the next 8 seconds" would be really lovely. even giving ranger throwing knive options that work with things like volley would be a interesting change

I think the sub 15 lobbies need to track if you have ever hit 15 on the class not just the current level of the class cause itās killing 15+ lobbies cause only cracked players are playing past 15 instead of there being 1000ās of mid players to dilute the 15+ lobbies there are like 500 players who know the game super well so once you hit 15 you are just fucked the game should never let you back onto sub 15 lobbies on that class even if you delete it
If you need to backpedal use A and D along side S and turn your screen at a 45* angle, S (backpedaling) reduces your movement speed but a and d (strafe) is not effected by this. You can maximize this by turning 90* and just strafing away purely.
@woven oak would be cool to see something similar, maybe if you have the correct angle with a wall they could add a perk that allows you to glance an arrow to āshoot around cornersā and such, throw a suggestion in!

Gotta move your mouse around a lot, fighter has a higher skill floor than barb so barb has the advantage of ease of access, but with proper know how and skill you can work barbs, just need time to practise

At high distance fireball out ranges lock, at close range zap does more damage than curses but the heal from them may or may not make Up for it? Hydra can force invis to stay mobile but isnāt likely to actually hit anything.

Fireball. Oh, he tries to cast? That's cute. Fireball again. Done.
A good warlock player brings eldritch shield

Honestly. Why arenāt attributes just based on the gear. Rings and amulets should be the only versatile equip that can have multipliers for damage and/or defense. Where as armor and shit should only be specific to defensive stats. While weapons can only have offensive stats

IMO we should be able to sell silver coins to the collector, other than coin bags and silver coins hes unless, kinda like the surgeon who only sells one item. Most ppl avoid silver coins in general but they still get picked up by mistake alot. Unless there is some plans for more types of currencies I.E silver coins, gold coins, plat coins..etc seems like an unneeded item. If silver coins stacked to a value of more than 10g, then grabbing them would make more sense but with coin purses stacking to 50g its already a moot point.

Really not happy with the state of loot in the game at the moment. it is way to rich in loot after they buffed loot rates 5 times now. It needs to be nerfed way into the ground. You cant even sell a decent green for 50g or even 4 good bases for 100g.

I agree, I kinda one idea I saw that was to bring back the 3 tier system for its own que, keep others ques like they are so ppl who dont like it can play how they want. But you have to go in to the 3 teir dungeon naked and you only get the gear you loot. Much longer raid but it will stop ppl bringing in god kits.
I want the nerfed level of loot that they had at launch of early access that white items with base stats like a a oracle robe were good and you found a green one and you were like pog. Okay, realistically, Warlock is obviously in a janky place but it's not as bad as it feels, trust me.
Warlock's only real place is to put himself in situations where he can force massive distadvantage or repeatedly re-engage at advantage with Hydra, BoC, and self-healing.
Engage him outside those, and he can't achieve his win condition unless you walk into a Parry/BoC headshot.
it's just nonsense that some class can just keep you at a distance and kill you. You cannot approach him in ABSOLUTELY ANY WAY. At the same time, he simply wonāt let you go. No matter how bad the player is, he will miss 9 out of 10 times, but sooner or later he will kill you, regardless of your gear. At the same time, even an archer cannot compete with him, because if the warlock receives damage, he puts up a hydra and is healed from it....

I'm not stupid and I understand that. There was just a situation on my screen when I was playing solo goblins on a fighter (gir for about 1500 gold). This warlock runs towards me, leaves a few meters of distance between us and starts throwing his skills at me. I understand that I need to run at him, because this fight must be short, otherwise I will die. I press my running speed ability and try to run after him, but in the end he just runs away, while running he casts a skill, turns around and shoots at me. I cannot run away and keep my distance while shooting at him with a crossbow, because he is many times faster than a fighter. But I canāt catch up with him either... Is this a normal game situation? Maybe at the beginning of the game weāll just roll the dice and whoever gets the most will take all the loot?
no, it's not a difference in equipment. But the question is the speed of the class and the fact that it has infinite HP. Read the situation I just wrote. If it were an archer, I could cover myself with a shield or keep my distance while shooting from a crossbow. The warlock was many times faster than any archer, besides, when the archer draws the bowstring, he slows down, which I did not notice in the warlock when he casts his skills.
He's engaging in his ideal range and exploiting your lower movespeed, you should try to do the same with Crossbow and punish him for casting in midrange with francs.
As a rule of thumb, 1v1s/GC isn't what the game is based around so dueling gets super jank really fast, especially for classes with self-sustain, mobility/control options, and especially burst damage (which Warlock has all of right now, so he's king there)

The fighter has an ability for running speed, which essentially makes him at least a little mobile, and not a stupid stone mountain that every archer/mage, etc. can kill simply by shooting at a distance.
But pressing ABILITY and not catching up with the warlock who is casting skills while running away... this is nonsense! a cleric loses half his running speed when he tries to cast heal or anything else... why can a warlock run normally?

I've never died from an archer in one shot while at full HP. he can use his ability and hit with 2-3 arrows, I agree with this and it can kill you. If you are running around on a naked rogue, taking off even the starting equipment, you are right, perhaps an archer a strong, shooting at such characters. But on a fighter I can break the distance with an archer, but I canāt with a warlock...

I just donāt play thin classes like rogues or mages, maybe youāre right, but on a fighter with 60% physical reductionI donāt notice this. Today, 2 archers in blue and purple clothes tried to kill me and took about 10-15% of my HP per shot if they hit me.
This doesn't seem like a problem to me. I was able to dodge a few shots (while also taking a few hits myself) and was able to push them and kill one while my teammate was killing the other. But I canāt catch up with the warlock... At the same time, I play a fighter... and what should a barb do against a warlock?

Curse of pain make similar damage than zap, also it is infinite and heal u. Maybe just to be a curse, only 10 dot over 10 secs only, not instant damage
- Should try to change Warlocks Curse of pain to only last 5 seconds on target. That way the magic healing wont scale in default gear
- The hydra being able to be cursed is probably terrible? there is currently no downside to blocking a door forever with your hydra.
- Blow of corruption has always been over-tuned, the Heal de-buff should be reduced to 50% at most, as well as the damage cut down to +15, potentially even +10 if you refuse to stop letting it scale with Will.
- In general the Will Stat is completely and utterly broken.
- The amount of magic power as a percentage given is beyond broken.
- Currently Will governs how long a buff lasts or how long de-buffs last. This should be equal across all classes.
- This would eliminate the need for ridiculous buff timers. 120 seconds on a bard buff, is that because it only lasts 60 seconds on a rogue? but you do realize it lasts over 2 minutes on a warlock wizard barb and cleric right?
- If will simply added ~.5 damage -instead of multiplying a percentage- to each increase of will, past 15. along with giving magic missles a different damage calculation (total damage that gets divided by number of missles when cast) For example having 25 will would give you +5 damage, making magic missles deal 55 base divided by 10 on cast. also making fireball deal more on cast ect. Multiplying magic damage by a percentage is insane.
- Rogues are garbage now, Take out ambush and revert weakpoint to what it was, otherwise people who werent using hide have to now take out weakpoint for hide because weakpoint actually does nothing against 90% of players..
- maybe even make the daggers feel like a weapon, and not sticks of spaghetti, currently the recurve bow you start with is almost 100% better than the rondel, and you can shoot people from across modules, in triple shot succession...

HOT TAKE, make rations function like bandages, and only heal recoverable health.
- Ranger longbow slow is too much and you know it, youve told us you know, and its been around a 30% slow for two months, if youre aware of this and its making people quit, why have you not fixed it?
- Clerics are currently too good, Their spell pool is too large for the type of combat situations most common in this game, because heals are effected by -you guessed it- Will. With the ability to heal for around 214 HP in base gear WITHOUT advanced healer, you simply cannot kill a fighter getting pocket heals. Thats 314Hp you have to take away from someone whos hitting you in the head the whole time whilst they block their cleric behind the door, Knock down the spell pool size by ONE for EVERY spell except: Locust swarm, Earthquake, and Resurrection.
- PDR is currently too high and easily attainable, there is no reason why a rogue cant stab a cleric 15 times in the face without being able to kill. I suggest an armour tier system, Heavy leaver, padded leather, riveted gloves, and some new studded leather helmets are all that should be wearable by a cleric. Make light armor for rogues and rangers and wizards and warlocks, and medium for clerics and druids and barbarians, and heavy armor for fighters and potentially a paladin

Right now it's too easy to cheese PvE, imo devs should focus on fixing hell and mini-bosses. But buffing regular hell mobs or mini-bosses hurts the casual player even more (his only chance to survive demons or centaur was to cheese).

Honestly the mini bosses are all only likable with cheese, they two tap squishy classes and 3-4 tap tanks ones. You canāt kite them (mostly). And block attack doesnāt work. Though honestly is memorizing attack partners any less of a cheese? W+S circling dogs or felling axe is cheese, just variable levels of skill in the cheese. A mobās attack pattern is a mechanic, memorizing it to neutralize it is working around that intended mechanic - which is the definition of an exploit.

100% yes no hesitation. Check the souls-like genre, the entire gameplay of dozens of games is just mixing attack and defense by learning attack patterns. Instead of roll we have duck, dip, dodge and jump.
"Cheese" is more like 1. wall clipping 2. Centaur (or any enemy) stuck due to pathing and no height scaling, no ranged attack. Things that the dev would obviously fix if they had resources to do it now.
Dark souls cheese was getting the boss to accidentally jump off the edge of the map (hotfixed), not learning its attack patterns.
Right now in D&D you can go take a water break and come back, Centaur is still stuck. Trio runs up on you? Centaur is stuck. It's not engaging, it's cheese. This is a DEMON in HELL. He should know his way around his own house.
Now instead if they buffed pathing, elevation scaling, retreat pathing, gave some mobs anti-cheese range attacks? Now you are forced to engage with core game mechanics - mixing attack with defense instead of shooting an inanimate object.
And yeah maybe they will have to nerf their other stats to make them killable by (insert character & gear level here)

I don't think they should be trying to 'fix cheese' persay. I've said this a lot of times before but I don't think pve needs to be the primary threat, aside from ACTUAL bosses in which they are a suitable challenge.
Pve just needs to be a big timesink that leaves you vulnerable. The bigger the timesink the more you're vulnerable. Sure cheesing a demon berserker is easy if you have a crawlspace or a ledge you can hide in/on but if another team finds you when you're in this vulnerable state your options on how to combat that team are extremely limited as a result. That's what the threat of pve should be in a pvpve game like this.

Don't agree with the roll affixes, I think they should just be dialed back in general. The current patch makes it way too easy to get overpowered rolls. Everybody is rolling around with like +20 weapon damage in normal lobbies.
That's the thing, you can find Purples so easy and they're now the real BiS. Legendaries and Uniques have always been hard as hell to obtain. Even with Chinese dupers farming gold piles back in early EA, Legendaries and Uniques still went for thousands and thousands of gold and keys.
But now why try to get a Legendary when you can already become a Terminator in Purple? A Legendary with mid or bad rolls now is entirely pointless.
If you could only get these big stat caps with Legendaries then the Gear Curve would be pushed up. Green-Purple will be a lot more closer in strength but there'd be a big jump to the actual valuable tiers. Think, how many people have you ran into that had a full set of Legendaries? Like, everything, even jewlery. Pretty much no one outside of streamers ran this.
If you wanted to stomp normals you would now be putting up like 20k gold instead of just 2k.
My suggestion would be more to move the BiS strength of Purples right now to Legendaries/Uniques and then push everything down
Green-Purple could only now get like 70% or so of the max rolls and maybe some stats entirely are unable to be rolled like +All
I think that's just shifting the problem further down the spectrum though. The geared people would still be completely unstoppable it's just the people who get THAT geared would be much rarer.

I think this would be the best way to balance it out compared to now where you're just able to get mega juiced off of Purples. Which you can find in every map.
Even if they kill Jack and nerf Vendors again that doesn't change the issue that the gap between Purple and Legendary is now narrow, but Legendaries are exponentially harder to find.
The Devs have also said they've been wanting to extend gear progression out more, the state it was in the PT was not suppossed to be how it's always been

The solution we need isn't to make 1-14 lobbies that people can go into and forces everyone to reroll or rat for hours to recover f rom being downbad after a few bad runs, its to make some kind of scav style everyone starts the same queue that lets people recover and is capped somehow (blue max? green max?) whatever... I know you can do this in GC and rat, but I want to play with my friends and right now the group queues are just teams steamrolling or bullying the final circle its very hard to get back into a geared state without ratting for hours and running from everything which I don't have the time nor am I willing to do. I never had to do that until this patch.

Yeah its a major issue going into lv15 ques and then trying to recover from losing gear. It's just objectively better to restart than to keep playing on a lv15 with no gear.
Really what needs to happen is drastically reduce the difference and scaling from gear. Make better gear give a token bonus, still better to have it, but scaling reduced to the point that gear is never dispositive in a fight. 10% advantage with purple over white not the 300% it currently is
i got about 200 per run - the 75 and supplies. I pull 200+ on normal GC. I don't see a point without leaderboard with the increased risk still.
Nah I think they want gear to matter. 10% is too small, but there also needs to be avenues to getting BACK to a geared state so you can compete on a more level ground. I don't think free sets should only be 10% against the best gear. They need to focus on creating viable avenues to getting back to geared so you can go toe to toe with people in any gear. Just letting people who are down on money get run over for hours trying to rat into an extract and START to get some money together to build another set is bad design and goign to chase the entire casual base away. I'm already fed up and back on Hunt until it gets fixed.

I can make 1500 gold and some assorted gear in 2-3 hours on a rogue in greys, but its boring and then I have to transfer that all to the character I really want to play for grouping at night. Get some practice in maybe win a few but if its even matches against other juicers eventually someone on the team will be down on money. You gotta think as the 50% winner not the super skilled streamer. The gameplay loops needst o let people recover without having to resort to hiding for hours to get enough gear to compete.
Also having gear is a given to fight geared guys. I don't see the point of this.
I'm asking for a "Can't bring anything in" only naked queue instead of the 1-14 queue. Remove 1-14 and put a recovery queue in that lets newbs practice and lets other people work on rebuilding. Cap the possible gear drops make blues super rare mostly greens and gold. Let people build back up in peace and then they have to queue into the normal lobbies and it will make the fights way better.

We need a true gear based matchmaking system, so chads with meta gear can verse other people with the same setup, then there is higher risk etc. If you have green to white gear on lets say, then you should pair up with that in match etc. This is the balancing we need to thrive IMO.
No, this will kill the game. No gear based matchmaking just make a naked queue for rebuilding.. anyone can queue just can't put a single item on. Less rewards too so if you are geared it makes no sense to go in there cause you are only really finding greens and less valuable treasure. Its just to get you to a point where you can compete against gear so you can chase better stuff.

Just implement an 'offline raid' for people to practice in, any sort of budget/naked/level or gearlocked queue will just make the existing problem of "farm gold in the easy gamemode, full kit stomp the normal queue" problem we have. Goblin Caves killed the gameplay loop, we don't need to beat the corpse.
Yeah, their skills at balancing the game are seemingly getting worse and worse. They just do too little and too much all over the place. They change things that arent necessary, but when they do things that are, they change them too drastically or not enough. They just don't do well at making a middle ground.

As fun as a naked queue sounds, I worry about segregation of the population of the game more.
It REALLY does sound fun don't get me wrong but I don't know about splitting up the population into more and more queues.
@abstract swallow Offline queue sounds good if the premise is that you reset to the gear you went in with after the run no matter what. Like let's say you go in with purples, whether or not you die or extract with better gear you still come back out with those purples.

Its already split into 1-14.. I' msaying remove 1-14 just for the starter queue. No additional queue, replace the 1-14.

Atm it just feels really bad to have to survive all the way to inferno and then do a boss that will 100% kill me because I don't know what I'm doing yet and I'm the type of person that learns through experience, not so much being told what to do.

there's an argument for enforcing the risk to learn high-end content like that, but I've never bought into it since EVERY floor is meant to have its own bosses
like the cycle had some decent gameplay, and had GBMM, the thing that killed that game unfortunately was cheaters.
I don't buy that either, I've said 100 times and I'll keep saying it. The threat from this game is supposed to be the pvp content, not pve. Letting people learn pve doesn't change the main intended threat of the game, which is always going to be other players.
TCF didn't implement GBMM until cheaters and the lack of GBMM had already driven away the vast majority of their population. They fixed the cheater problem, people came back during s2 after EAC was a success, then everyone left because GBMM wasn't a thing and people starting out in whites were getting one tapped from across the map by exotic snipers on bright sands, the ONLY map the new people could play on.
I think that practicing the fights with the threat of PvP is part of the challenge though. If it was less punishing to gear up it wouldn't be bad to throw sets away making attempts.

There's like unlimited gear floating around and I still just don't want to waste my time dying repeatedly and re-grinding to learn something.
If I could do so in a practice mode I would, but right now the risk vs reward of bosses just isn't worth it for me. I can get unlimited god sets doing very base level things right now because the economy is terrible.
maybe for a very new, casual player but you can build full kits with damage/all for dirt cheap right now
the economy has never been more bloated, and it's never been easier to farm gold if you know the basics of PvE and looting

I disagree with the last statement. I've been tryign and to build a "god set" of +1/2 all and damage it takes a significant time investment of ratting and gathering. Thats for an average player, I'm assuming a small subsection of people who win 90% of even matches cause they are really good they can gear faster. I lost two of those sets last night against OTHER people with the same stuff, and then to rebuild we had to go back to ratting which sucks as a squad. A naked queue would let people jump right into a balanced setting to start working on gold/basic gear to get back into the normal queues and go after the juicers.
IMO It doesnt matter what queue systems they bring in, the game is broken on a much more fundamental level. You dont want to run naked runs, its not as much fun. You like smacking the ai 6-10 times every time? I find that really painstaking.. The problem lies in the amount of power you're even able to achieve. With the right gear you can blast people out of existence without trying. The stat system is really bad, a lot of weird stuff going on that only makes the game have a higher snowball effect. They really do tune down the wrong numbers and hold fast with the poorly designed systems in place. Eventually they'll get it right and bring things to a more normal playing field. Practice modes will probably not be implemented, casual players would improve a little, but the freedom to find every bug and exploit will be abused in much higher amounts by "sweaty" players. That is what theyre scared of
This is also a problem but I think a quick fix to make the game fun and eliminate the weed wacking of people trying to recover replacing the 1-14 with the naked queue would work and be fast to impliment.

I mean, that is my experience. I have like 6 high tier bows just sitting in my stash that I got from looting and various other pieces of crazy kit along with capes.
I don't think I'm that amazing at the game, I am above average for sure but I don't think I'm good enough to be placed in with the leaderboard competitors and sweat-streamers. So I'd like to think my perspective lines up with the general populace.

GBMM would immediately fix the problem at the cost of slightly longer queue times, and honestly it might even FIX the economy because greens would become more expensive. š
GBMM is NOT a quick fix. It would take a long time to master the balance of how to even create the rating and get the matchmaking working.

I literally have a post on the forums as to how to do it so that it wouldn't be easily abusable and such that minor upgrades wouldn't put a person or their trio into a massively different bracket.
They also said the same about anything similar to an auction house but hey I'm still gonna suggest that, so that's probably what Onyx is doing.

Anyone mad about gear in any way that thinks an auction house would be good in the current state of the game is crazy. Imagine being able to find the exact stats you want at any given time within reason. The way the trade is actually helps balance the game because its broken. if they add an auction house before they fix the game it will die a sad death. If people could buy +20 ALL +30 weapon damage consistently, anyone who didn't would die instantly, and everyone who did would have to just shoot first to win and get unlucky to lose

The fact that a good majority of people are actually doing this literally tells you how terrible it is for casuals/new players to go against people with less skill than is required to open a jar of dirt but have hella gear because they have more time to invest. More time able to play doesn't mean better.
Oh I don't think it would help the economy, but the devs have said the game state is close to where they want it, so I've given up on this game having a healthy economy because the devs don't want to fix it.
I just think it'd make it so that I can actually use trade chat without having to spend an hour each time I want something from it.

Gear, even as toned down as it is right now, still is the most major deciding factor in all fights. That's not healthy. The only time gear should be making that big of an impact in fights is if/when you have a unique (named) item and your opponent doesn't.

Yeah, they turned rogues into ragdolls, and took away the fun of being a bard without actually balancing the bard. Gave warlocks more love than a Shakespeare tragedy. All while ignoring the biggest problems with rangers, and the limited functionability of the stat system and what its worth when you can buff your stats 2X the starting amount

None of the balancing of classes is the problem. They've said class balance takes a backseat until training comes out. The MAJOR problem is the gear stats, they cranked up the dial to 10 and have basically doubled down and said it's close to where they want it despite pretty much every player of the game agreeing this is awful.
Shield smash needs to be removed or needs to actually be useable. A waste of time to even have that skill in the game.
I mean, you can get +51, or +56 of any single stat from gear, and you'd be getting +20-22 on every other stat. So yeah, thats the biggest problem for sure. Although Warlocks can heal off of the hydra, and it doesn't even take gear to heal net positive (class balance issue) Clerics have too many spells in their pool (class balance issue) theres a lot of other stuff too. Like Ranger longbow slows, Rogue perk imbalances, bards song skipping, Ranger rations, Bards songs damaging circle is questionable at best, sound penetrating through solid stone is always awesome. This game needs a lot more fixes to get rid of things that are actually breaking the game.
Try using a Pavise with it, the shield hits the floor 50% of the time, the other 50% it goes through the target

XD i made a character named shieldsmashsam so I can test it. It does some damage but the hit box is literally the center of the shield. Which youll miss as trying to aim witht he center cuts off 90% of your vision.

My problem is extremely geared players. I don't mind the pvp I enjoy it actually but not when it's so aggressive that I can't 'build up my coffers' cause I'm being one tapped my Mr. Barbarian with a full purple set every time I play

Goblin Caves split for new players (under LVL 14) has been pretty boring not much PVP encounters
Goblin Caves loot is plenty and you can cash-in +100 gold per run just from chalices and low level treasure
Goblin Caves chaotic nature was great some patches ago, dont know how to exactly pinpoint this out but it doesnt feel the same

Anyone else feel the blocking mechanic in DaD is really weird? Like you shouldn't have to look up at the ceiling to block an overhead chop.
e.g. you should be able to actually look at your opponent, and block whereever they're attacking you at the same time.

The hitbox is a small section of the shields center, about the size of the fist
Because of how the skill needs to be used it leaves you open and blind, not making what the skill actually does any worth using. A cool skill but essentially useless if you actually want to keep your gear in the long run.
honest it would be fantastic if it 1 still had a blocking hitbox 2 had the same hitbox as the current shield and 3 was as fast as it would actually make sense to be. if you made it like this it would be actual
you probably tested that skill yourself more than even the devs. There's a bunch of skills and perks in the game like this that are just "meh" and no one even talks about them, and of course everyone is just going to use the best ones, but then those seem to be the only ones that get adjusted at all , discouraging different playstyles. but hey let's add 100 more classes!

The spawnrate on spidermummy pots should be lowered a little

You in fact can NOT see your opponent when they are swinging for your head as - If you can see your opponent over your shield your opponent can hit you over said shield

It should act like a parry of sorts and make attacks blocked by the shield have a much higher recovery time. One of the two animations depending on what shield you use already does more of a parry motion. This including what you mentioned could make the skill actually viable.
Remove the burst damage from the game, there shouldn't be a way to one-shot anyone! Remove Blow of Corruption and rework your PvP or REFUND MY PURCHASE!!! I agree that they pass over crap way too often, and that they make skills and perks that are meh or just bad. There's not doubt as I have actually found and reported two bugs that they fixed right after I sent them the proof. Issues that shouldnt have been in the game for so long if people actually used the perks and skills enough to find them. Simple issues that actually have gotten me killed for not working as they should.
But a prime example that they lack enough care is the fighter class. Their weapon damage perk should only work with weapons, but for some reason a lantern counts as a weapon more than a shield. You know... a shield that you can literally use as a weapon with shield smash. Though you already know from what I said, that skill is garbage in 95-99% of its design and usage. Fighter is arguably one of the least thought about classes with how little attention it gets, and how meh or bad most skills and perks are. What more proof do you need when most people play like tankier rangers running the same two or three skills.

fix the zones, its embarrasing it shows you dont even play your game. you just put arbitrary ass circles and wtf is the spawn in a room bottom floor near troll entrance.. like what the actual hell were you thinking. there are 2 other nearby spawns that start above you. why would you put someone at that disadvantage? im put there and am in a fight within 30seconds everytime from atleast1 but ussually 2 ppl.. i mean can you hire just 1 person that plays your game aloot? these things are crazy obvious to fix never should have been this way in the first place

make it so every class has the lockpicking perk, it's stupid that some of the best loot in the game is locked behind having a rare item that doesn't even guarantee acquisition of said loot, essentially locking off a huge amount of loot to the 1 class that has a viable work around

Thats why lockpicks exist
Sub 15 lobbies should be removed and replaced with "self found" lobbies. When you decide to become a trader, your character is moved into the "normal" lobbies. If you want to play in easier lobbies permanently, but be unable to trade and twink our your char as easily, you simply don't sign up for trade.
Yeah, I've thought about that too. The Merchants sell some pretty good stuff and sometimes I can get really crazy gear for cheap on trade because people don't wanna sit there forever. Merchants also have some pretty sweet deals.

Trade chat is a mess, it goes by at supersonic speed, and it's hard to even look at items before they scroll past. Sure, you can stop the chat by scrolling up, but even then, this is some early 2000s diablo style trade. A better and more modern solution would be to have a Trade Store Front, you put what you want to trade in you trade post stock (Which commits it to trade and cannot be taken back, to prevent using it as storage), set a price, and then go back to adventuring.
Other players can search by rarity and equipment type, or even by mods and bonuses, and then pick the one they'd like a buy just like from the merchants. When it sells you get your money, and you don't have to spend 2 hours spamming a message into a trade chat and hoping someone sees it scrolling by.
This may be more intensive on the servers to store that gear and data on it, as well as price, but this could also be addressed by limiting the size of any given players trade stock, maybe give us one inventories worth of space to keep trade volume down and not stress the server with people selling 400 white rarity sets of shoes.
i agree, a more comprehensive and user friendly trading area would be a welcome addition. that way i don't spend forever trying to sell all my loot or just wait hoping that a god deal on a piece of gear appears out of luck
they just simply need to add a flate earth trade because the word planet and trade is banned

like sure, it'd still be good to have an open trading area, but it'd also be good to have an area where you can just post what items you wanna sell and have people either buy them for a set price or auction them.
could have more comprehensive search and tags for items, so you can search for specific modifiers
@fervent tundrashit is so broken right now WT is clearly a bad idea it worked well in tests but as of now no one has the time to sit there for an hour to make 50g on a decent item
My main desire here is a passive trade system, set price, set stock, then get back to the actual game. The current system just requires you to sit there spamming a chat message for ages, I'd rather set an item to trade and get my money when someone decides to take it

@fervent tundra there are a lot of items with good qualitys that get sold for 50g for many reason the usually start of high but not one wants to wait and eventually it drops down to 50g that is legit how i get my quarter staff blue/purp daggers and what not. no one has the time its an 18+ game and most people have full time jobs this is a clear advantage to streamers
a WT system would honestly balance it all out but they clearly dont want it because you cant even SAY WT the actual name

also with the inventory, i think there' 100% should be an inventory tab for craftable items. atm crafting materials take up sooooo much room of your precious storage, and they're only useful if you have enough items at once

yeah, the biggest problem with the game atm, even bigger than a lot of known balance issues and QoL, and some systematic issues,
is new player draw. it's just not an appealing game to newcomers
Well the changes they made were for casuals. You might hate waiting for trades but they made it easier in general to get better loot from other means. The issue where if you are or past lv15 and you didnt have kits then you had to make sure you ran into no one to even have a chance at extracting. The changes made it so you have a higher chance to escape and keep building gold with just base gear.
@silver dockkits now are attribute based so that isnt really a factor tbh unless you like a fighter that has the highest armor increase per color armor

It's literally a hardcore extraction looter. It's not a casual game. That's why I said play diablo 4. It's streamlined in every way and has zero identity to it. And now it's pretty much dead. Don't streamline everything because people are complaining that they actually have to put some work into it to achieve anything.
