ADD another stash pls its unplayable
just sacrifice a character slot to mule
Strawman. You don't have a legitimate counter argument.
you still havent sent me the screenshots. I must not have gotten them
Yes, I told you that I was out with my family currently. I don't carry around screenshots on my phone of all the people I've ever encountered. Patience.
lore should be split onto ancient scrolls with slight gold buff and tied to quest/backstory change my mind
no problem, let me know when you get them
i have but you denied them anyway -> we just don't agree bro
Nothing you've said is anywhere near a good argument.
Atm i have no idea how to make a suggestion on the dark and darker suggestion chat anyone knows how i could do that
whether you can visually differentiate good vs bad players visually, and visually tell the difference between highly and lowly geared players doesn't really matter does it? it's all gamesense, nobody boots up a game and expects to understand the way the playerbase functions, the meta, and the average of the skill level relative to their own without playing the game and learning.
They should just add in the map Q for duos Q for trios like hunt showdown does it
some1 make this a suggestion
Ty verymuch
They've already said that they have no plans for duo queue as of right now.
ye cause i don't think you're open to opposite idea. For me the game give you tools to fight what you can't bear (or new player "can't bear" (tho they still bear it and gitgud since launch)
you want change on that i don't simple, i won't make 40 line of stuff to justify what you won't ever agree
if u are talking about the Q&N they just posted, they said they dont plan to make a duo map
If someone ever presented an actual downside to GBMM or some implementation of a similar concept, I'd entertain it and likely criticize it, sure... and that's more than you're doing for my suggestion, because I'd at least entertain the idea rather than just troll and criticize an idea that is meant to make the game better in the long run. Not a single person has given me an actual downside to GBMM yet.
How come fighter can't wear leather chest armor?
Is it imbalanced or is it simply intentional and I'll just have to put up with it?
i don't want a mmr cause i don't want to be jailed with people with the same gear as me, i love the liberty to get punish by grey geared people when i do mistake (and love to do it too) and i like the feeling of escaping heavy geared people
Idk if this was said or not but can we have skin tones? Id like to rep hispanic and black sink tones
This is why we need base kit mode queues.
i really feel like the general problem is you don't really want to adapt your gameplay to what you encounter inside the dungeon rather than want to adapt it to what you like
Youre in the minority, overall its bad for game health when new players are matched against a fully purple team. It creates the situation where they give up and uninstall before they're able to get new gear. A full lock shouldnt be in place tho, more like Grays can be placed with semi purples. but no higher
Base kit mode = skilled player queues
Like the stuff rogues and rangers wear? If thats the case I think its just to keep some armors exclusive, would be annoying if your fighter could wear everything and took all the loot since he could wear it
well it's obvious it need some tweek i saw earlier someone talk about ilvl on stuff which can be softer than mmr
Thats not what they said
So you're openly admitting that you want to just run around and murder players who are clearly not as well geared or as skilled as you are at the game when you're heavily geared? And if you just want to try to outplay people, then run HR lobbies right now in full grays. There you go. With GBMM in normal lobbies you can still do HR runs in all gray and go against geared people, but normals won't be the slaughterfest you want it to be. That's abusive and not good for the community.
Low roller mode = base kit only, skilled players
Normal mode = pub stomps, anything happens
High roller mode = professional and cutthroat treasure hunters
I feel starting armor is just fine, but they have chosen the very worst for most of the classes
Probably why they got chosen
i murder what i can and dodge what i can't i'm playing solo and not fully geared at all. as i'm playing solo i choose my fight wisely rarely make more than 2kill/games
What leather chest are you talking about? It's most likely intentional to fit with the D&D aspect of locking gear to certain classes
GOLBLIN CAVES, staircase from third floor to cave troll boss, the death bug can get through the breakable planks to the second floor by doing its dodge thing and glitches through. FIX
I guess. I find a lot of warden armor often in crypts as solo fighter so maybe it's just the monsters I'm fighting
Yea that plank space is huge bro
Yeah that one's specifically locked b/c of the classes. Prob just bad luck finding it very often, happens to me with other classes as well.
no it wont go through normally
I watch death beetle push thru it all the time. It just has to line up and it goes thru
Change all abilities like rupture and achilles etc to only work on melee. It's way too cheesy as is
that sounds pretty fair tbh
Rogues stalking you and rupturing knife you every 40 seconds 🗿
Hello, fellow bards, but also music enjoyers! I am very passionate about this class but I believe there is a big problem: the current meta is to play songs in such a way that it sounds worse. Here is my suggestion to change that.
Wonder if there'll ever be a dungeon with a dungeon minotaur roamin
chase parties around, it'd be funny
ur tripping theres so many highroller rejects in normals every 2 games theres a team obv u dont play enough
I can only say my experience, but this isn't the case for me. It is really rare. And statistically, it should be rare unless the game is intentionally pairing you with high gear people, which I am relatively sure it isn't.
its every 2-3 games you'll see it you could be zero gear and still run into them
what is your definition of high gear though
/highroller rejects
yellows purples bard all magic dmg fighter 80 phys reduction cleric all cloaked
Man I wish I had that kind of luck lol
Every person I kill has nothing
and theres no point in doing normal lich or gk because you'll get blues from it only hr bosses will drop u purps n yellows all the time so idk what they do in normals.
I would love a spectator mode that allows a birds eye view of the game and action. Also custom lobbies so that we can make community tournaments and stuff, with arena maps for pure pvp. I already have two different competitions for 3 man and solos. PvP would let the teams have lvl 15 characters but restrict them to 500 gold worth of items they buy from the merchants, there could also be a category where all characters are lvl 1 and are restricted to starting gear. The second competitive idea would be dungeon runs. I don't have the rules ironed out for that though 😄
You still get a lot of money from doing normals, and it is a lot easier. Sometimes people don't want to tryhard all the time. Although high roller boss isn't much harder, the pvp is a lot more sweaty.
And they may be queueing with someone who just doesn't want to do high rollers, I have friends that do that
thats nuts lmao so legendary best kits in the game dont want to go highroller because its harder? insane.
I need to run some games with you so I can see some of these people lol.
You down to go take their shoes?
we could but im telling u we cant kill them lmao unless were same kit as them
You can, it just takes a few more hits
Didn't say it was going to be easy
I think there needs to be a better trade system, something where you can actually list an item you want to sell, something like tarkov, sitting in the trade post is not fun.
The trade chat is ideal, because it doesn't flood the game with gear. There needs to be a barrier to trading items. Also this system allows for bartering and for more fun for the trader type
Having a trade post would absolutely cause the issue of too many geared players in low lobbies
example: late wipe tarkov
I want option to voice chat when trading with someone for better trade convos
i agree
that would be sick +1
i mean ushould be able to buy purps off flea n stuff but should be a gear barrier for normals i cant even imgaine all the newer players quitting because of HR rejects controlling normals
then more would go hr and hr wouldnt be so dead w default grey rouges everywhere
Magic staffs suck. Give them magic power and remove it from books. Books excel in mobility and cast speed. staffs are slow, slower cast speed, and do less magic damage. Staffs should have magic power and more than 2 or 3 to make them hit harder. Basically the choice between damage or cooldown/speed
Ban the phrase USD on trade?
Goblin merchant
Now meeting someone with legendary falchion is kinda like dead sentence and if they have
backing him up then
u have no chance unless same kit. Honestly falchion needs nerf and a quite nasty one it's literally two handed weapon in disguise. In terms of speed it should be the same as viking sword , and viking sword should be buffed and be as fast as current falchion. When i always see viking sword i literally don't take it unless it's last resort since it's that bad (unless rare or epic of course)
please make it so that potions and bandages in traders always refresh after a raid
fr
they should really remodel the demon centau in hell, he looks like a beekeeper
Wait until you meet someone with the unique falchion, literally just a unique items stats exception 15 dark magic damage to ignore that annoying physical resistance keeping you alive
Demon Centaur
ty
i think bigger maps and longer games would be a great addition so it feels like ur getting more in to the game and it doesnt just end in like 10 minutes, it should feel like a raid, like u enter a dungeon and not just some kinda cave to run around and leave after 10-15 mins, more time would really be a great addition imo, also the loot rooms, bosses, mining all that stuff u basically just farm it in the zone bcs it just passes so quickly
would straight up destroy the economy
It would make getting gear/loot way too easy
ye but we could make stuff more expensive cause rn u legit offer people god tier gear and they dont wanna pay 150g for that its rly dumb in earlier playtests it was way more expensive and didntt feel so inflated
Maybe the god tier gear you're trying to sell isnt great.
The economy is already kinda wack and you would still have the same inventory space so it wouldn't be that much more time to loot efficient
i mean 26dmg hand crossbow with 2 additional phys power and 2 all atributes doesnt seem to be worth less than 150 xd
Handcrossbows are a niche item. Not many builds use it
Low demand means low prices
doesnt matter u can get blue rapiers as a rogue that deal 29-30 damage for 100-150 and if it was like the 3rd playtest it wouldve been like 300 easily
Every rogue who knows the game uses it
did you sell it to rogues?
So making blue rapiers easier to get would... tank the market further, not increase the prices
nah bro who else would i sell it to, i didnt even sell it bcs only when i offer prices like 130 ppl wanna trade i just kept it at that point
tbh they could just nerf the loot/ores/drops in general and make the games last longer so u have to explore more and risk more time trying to get something good although it might get boring so idk
i hope you tried it on multiple occasionssince that handcrossbow is probably worth 250-350
but now it rly just feels so off u just enter a game wait 3 mins for high roller to stack up half the time it doesnt even get to 16 players and then u play for 10 minutes go extract and repeat? its rly underwhelming and just doesnt feel like ur entering a dungeon/raid
Please let me buy pink and purple torches. It will make me verry happy ❤️ Will pay redstone
i mean ill just end up using it probs bcs the economy is so inflated i just buy insane full set for a few hundred gold when 2 playtests ago i could only afford like a good weapon with that money
TBH i get it. I'm looking forward to them executing their idea of a 3 floor dungeon that goes from trash loot, to greens/blues, to blues/purps
Longer time and less interaction with players seems kinda lame overall, but not only that, they would make a whole new ecosystem on that map - based on droprates and money outcome if the zone is like 5mins slower yk. How underwhelming would it be, to either always get grey stuff out of boxes on a large map or they would put like 1 box in 1 large room. Theres alot more flaws than listed
did they confirm it would be a thing later on?
Can we add Voip back into the game?
They've confirmed that Inferno is supposed to be Floor 3, Crypts is Floor 2, etc.
Ruins was going to be Floor 1 til they made it an entirely different map.
oh okay thats cool then ig it would feel longer if it actually comes
law restrictions i think but thats only what ive been told. didnt look it up
ye when the lawsuit thing is over it prob will come back to steam aswell and voip should be back soon after
aight sounds good :)
how to start a suggestion
i think main issue right now with dnd is the teams that just bring into 20 pots/bandages into a lobby...not that it's illegal it just pushes everyone to have to do that in order to compete
also it just trivializes PvE content. I think potion of clarity should be rarer/more expensive. And some sort of gamefied way of limiting the amount of potions you can bring into a lobby...perhaps a belt slot that holds pots? and pots cannot be stored into inventory/stash
Preparation is part of the game, going in as an unprepared vs prepared team puts you at a disadvantage, as it should. We really shouldn't penalize people preparing themselves to fight an entire lobby, because that means less loot when you beat them. Making Clarity rarer is a direct nerf to Cleric who has no alternative way to regen spells outside of rest, unlike Wizard and Warlock who have more options.
How about adding voip to the game?
I think they need to make it so the first person who enters the cave troll the doors lock behind them until they kill it or they die. Im going insane getting griefed every damn game.
Another important point is that supplies are meant to last UP TO 3 FLOORS
Space is meant to be at a premium, only circumvented by characters like Ranger and Wizard with their utility and slot expertise.
My bluestone shards from buying the Bard hasnt been refunded.. Anyone with same issue?
WE NEED VOIP ‼️ WE NEED VOIP ‼️ WE NEED VOIP ‼️
it's because they don't have a EULA yet
basically a document saying, among other things, that voip doesn't reflect the views of the devs
Anyone else worried about our trading post market? It seems like nobody buys any gear. I see blues and purples going for barely anything
MAKE 5 AND 6 MAN DUNGEONS
Arrows/bolts quiver that carry above 15 arrows per 3 inventory slots.
Why bolt can’t be taken on corpse?
How do I make a suggestion for the game?
when are they gonna add more channels to the discord
or a decent party chat system swear can never get a channel
I think it would be cool if you made it so warlocks in a trio with bard and cleric cant infinitely camp a doorway with hellfire
given that warlock's self damage is always recoverable you wouldn't even need the cleric
hell, take two warlocks
Please add color blind accessibility i can’t tell when some enemies are elite and nightmare and I can’t see difference of legendary and uncommon ❤️💚
is it just me or should bard be able to wear at least one of the ore helmets or even get one of their own? Every other class can have a full set right?
yeah, its strange, because there is a ruby silver leather cap, me thinks its an oversight
yeah they kinda caved to whiners and gave us 3 back to back loot buffs and everyone is surprised crafting is worthless and gear won't sell
dnno havent had trouble selling gear tbh, but certain gear will just never sell because of their base type or bad rolls
I would imagine this is an idea but what do you think about using gems as a item defuff/item buffing, could be used with sockets or without sockets
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/474212/rogue-perk-master-of-disguise
proposal for a new quirky rogue perk
fix the fkn cheating
its a cool enough idea but thematically imo it should be a skill and take on your targets appearance
Anyone know if when wipes are implemented they'll reset character level too? Cause holy shit I'm leveling up bard for the first time and I don't ever want to have to do this grueling process again, they get like no exp for helping the party
I don't think its impactful enough to be a skill, think about the opportunity cost
you're passing up rupture, weakpoint, hide, or smoke pot
at least as a perk you have more slots to play around with, even if rogue has a lot of fantastic perks to pick from its easier to slot in a quirky perk than a quirky skill
Bard and Cleric are insanely easy to level, both have access to AoEs that don't need line of sight, and Bard even has access to mass exp farming from popping containers
Regardless, full character wipes are a hard certainty since changes to character progression like the Class Trainer are coming.
I mean sure once or twice to fix balance, but are they going to be happening every single wipe? Just seems annoying to have to level up every character you want to play, for those of us that want to play a variety of characters.
Please add spears to items that can be sold in ranger trade post
Noone knows until final release, it may just be that characters get dumped into a legacy league or something in the release version.
yeah agree it would be too big of a sacrifice, thats why I said thematically because I dont think it'd work in practice
Can you give us back Tombs, please?
I see, a lot of people answer this question as if they know with certainty so I wonder if the devs have ever said something on it.
remove arrows pls
in the recent QnA they said they are working on quivers atm
hard to know what exactly they will give us but hopefully it quells whatever makes you want arrows to be removed
They've just said the wipes are coming, and that they plan to start us from scratch each wipe. What that entails or if it will continue into release is left deliberately vague right now.
Remove slowing bugs from goblins cave
There is no discussion, blue and green tryhards need to be removed from the normal dungeon and put in HR or tell them to take that gear and meds off, ALL MAGIC SHOULD NOT BE BLOCKED BY WOODEN SHIELDS, and Jump spamming and wiggling also should not just counter magic.
Barricade for the Fighter Does not work at all....fix asap please
death beatles? why?
Take the shield completely out of the game until it is fixed please so players are not lulled into a false sense that it will actually block, thank you
cause it stacks
and bats have hp almost like goblins
you're just stating facts
why do you think death beatles should be removed?
WHY DO MOBS HIT THROUGH WALLS, THEY BLOCK ME BUT NOT MOBS FIX ASAP....PURE INCOMPITENCE. !!!
That is day one code shit...
U should really add an MMR/ELO matchmaking to the game , coz otherwise you will lose a lot of new players . Imagine i got a friend who played first time today it was horrible for him he got destroyed most of time he looked at me playing or I restart to go for another game.
And just saying than putting people with 500+hours with people with 0 is not good for both players
give rangers an arming sword in their starting gear
because the mobs have very basic AI and cannot space themselves away from the wall
its not a bug, its not an oversight, if mobs were able to hit the wall people could cheese the mobs ever more than they already do
Because you stand too close to the wall
it's 8 gold bro how cheap are you?
if I had a dollar for every broken English comment begging for gear elo or gearscore, I could just kickstart DaD myself
None of that is my problem at all on a simple, basic oversight by the Dev's who clearly have a decent following and still fail at every turn to fix the basics of the game, if they do not listen, this game will fail horribly just like the others allllll the other.
i second this
Dear Devs,
Thanks.
Thanks,
Timothy
you know, funnily enough, there is something you can use to put a wall between you and an enemy swing
its called a shield
oh wait
right before you complained about the walls you claimed shields didn't work, which they do, you just have to actually put the shield between you and the weapon
so think twice before you say others are failing at every turn and actually learn the basics of the game before saying they are broken
i dont think you know what ur talking about
@abstract swallow
who talked about gear score or even gear elo ?
I talked about the total playing time
If i had a dollar each time a people without using his brain try to respond ...
I think that giving the zweihander the ability to half sword would help it compete with some of the other weapons as it's tendency to hit walls makes it feel horrid to use. I find myself never using a zwei for that exact reason and it's a shame that it feels like the bottom of the barrel weapon in comparison with other weapons movesets.
Anyone else in here having big fps or lag issues when tryna ignite dagger ppl. My pc isn’t bad but it isn’t a beast either. Any ideas I have all low settings. I wonder if it’s my anti allising setting
If a weapon is swung at me while holding a shield up which is clearly a "Block" or should have been, and the tip of the weapon goes over or clips though the shield....It will not block, even though the top edge of the shield should have recoiled the swing back, it does not and the player gets hits....fact, the meshing and hit boxes are off and allow for cheese factory.
I was having some issues with that last access but it seems to have waned a fair bit. Maybe turn down graphic settings related to particle effects?
you did, it's right there in your post
listen, if you can't even remember your own suggestion maybe try another channel
They all low settings
What's your card if you don't mind my asking?
report button in chat lobbys for gold sellers
Like 1080 something. But the game is using like 15 percent of my graphics card and I don’t think I have issues normally
Honestly a really good idea for the devs to implement
Yeah it's weird I was running a 1050 and the game was running pretty okay-ish until I ignited then my frames dropped to like 8 per second. The only thing I can reccomend is updating your drivers and maybe ram
Just updated the drivers too
keep being blind i never talk about gear score ELO but Time played ELO I'm wondering how u would eat alone ?
you must actually move the shield to where the weapon is
you are blocking a swing, not a person
don't look at the enemy, look at their weapon
people tend to aim for the head so tilt the shield up
if the swing is coming from the left, look a bit left
I promise you the blocking is actually very accurate in this game
If you just updated them as in right now, you may have to restart your computer for them to actually complete the install.
I don't know why you keep bringing up gear elo, it's not even relevant to your suggestion
Restarted after the install. But just shut down for a bit so hopefully it’s better after
U already own me 3 dollars thanks
I'm not new I have played dynamic combat games like and better than this one I know how it's played. You are clearly not understanding what I am saying. It's ok we will see which way the dev's go.
can we get a system where low lvl people aing goin against fully geared trios in the goblin cave type maps like some kind of gear limit or lvl cap idk just feels bad coming oin new low lvl and getting smashed by fully geaded decked out players need some kind of balance i feel star siege has a type system where gear cap
Gear based or skill base matchmaking is terrible for the game.
all that would get you is pub stompers rolling super safe lobbies with low level characters in limit-optimized gear
Which is way, way worse
Also very true! This would eliminate the possibility for you to kill higher geared players for their gear which for A LOT of people is a lot of the appeal of the game.
When will the Chef class be added so I can make bologna sandwiches for my teammates?
if you truly do know how the blocking system works, perhaps you are having some kind of networking issue
this would be the first time I've seen someone claim attacks are going through their shield while knowing how blocking works
Ranger has bread and campfires
yea i dont know how to fix it but something needs to be done
That is not a bologna sandwich, nor is a ranger a chef sir
I'll send you video the next time it happens
Yeah. One thing I can say that may be a good idea is a separate mode for ppl under level 15 for newer players and stuff. Maybe even if a bit easier pve depends on how new players friendly they wanna try to make it
they don't have campfires anymore 😔
durability and fixing rarity scaling will make it a lot less safe and lucrative
Yeah. Once all the features and main balancing is done i believe it will be fine
p much
I understand that going against really geared players sucks because it makes sometimes double the combat efficiency. But in order for bringing good gear in to have meaning there has to be that base line of shit gear. It gives you incentive to play save and avoid players while going for the high quality value loot spots.
👍 oh okay, I hope you don't forget
yea all good suggestions and info
It's the closest I could get 😦 maybe you could put some maggots in it and it's as close to a balogna sandwich the game has right now
I can't ERP with my friends without actual bologna sandwiches. You just don't understand its fine
I actually agree with this, but the actual power difference between high and low gear is so massive its becomes problematic when a completely stacked person starts player hunting in an otherwise baby lobby
There were pigs in the ruins at one point! Maybe you could get some ham there and then you got your campfire and your bread and you can figure it out
I paid $98 canadian pesos so I could ERP with bologna sandwiches. They lied to me and now my wife hates corn
Remove hand crossbow as its completely broken and braindrad to use.
For sure. A three stack of purple players going through my casual dungeon dive makes combat impossible. And sometimes there is not "playing safe" as I mentioned earlier for the slower classes and compositions. It's a very double edged sword though because if you put limitations on that it sort of skews the identity of this game and ruins what makes it special. The game is supposed to be brutal and the pve attests to this at first so I really don't see them making the game easier for players.
how do you actually play warlock solo lol shits impossible with 0 gold
Unfortunate mispelling there, I'm sorry. I agree that the hand-crossbow being able to kite out people makes it super frustrating for those who don't have them but it's a part of rogues strength as a sort of side line fighter. I like it as an addition but maybe bolts and arrows slows shouldn't be as severe as they are.
I feel like I gotta get lucky and find a sword, then pretend im a fighter lol
It is disgustingly hard. You're not going to be able to win 1vx fights realistically without trying to seperate them and take 1v1 fights. The main strat is to just take corrupting blow and falchion them in the head and hope they die. Poking them before melee with curse of pain is pretty Important as well and can be the difference between a 1 shot and a no shot.
But like if ur decent mechanically u cant die with a handcrossbow
rangers arrows slowing when they hit any part of the body when it specifically says leg shots is a real issue
Warlock is good unless u vs ranger or hand crossbow rogue nothing u can do
I don't disagree with you but I don't agree with you. Maybe the hand crossbow's issue isn't the hand crossbow but actually how agility affects your movement speed and rogues having double jump
its not about making things "easier" its about making it more fair
in an ideal world players shouldn't die when they don't make any mistakes, but put a player in white gear against someone with a full set of even just blues and there is little to nothing the lower geared person can do
your survival chance shouldn't drop by 75% just because you ended up in a lobby with gigachad rubysilver fighter
You can ambush proc, rupture proc and backstab proc and it nearly 1 hits someone with a grey hand crossbow? If you think that is balanced you may need to get checked
It's an extraction based game. Being "Out-gunned" isn't an added bonus of the genre but a neccessity to it's identity. Making games more and more streamlined and more and more casual ruins what makes the games unique.
You can rage and 1 shot a wizard with a grey felling axe as barbarian. It does suck but what makes the difference is the context of the fight and the gear of the players. I don't think that rupture proc-ing on hand crossbow is good make no mistake but playing to your characters strengths and playing away for their weaknesses is important.
an ungeared wizard will 2 tap a fighter building PDR because of his negative magic res the only issue with geared players not really being that easily countered is with rogues who will just 1 tap anything but barbarians, also stop complaining about gear being imba. go get some gear how else do you think everyone else got good loot? we all started with base kits at some point
So very true. The "loot snowball" concept is a super fun part of this game. There's less reward for fighting players when you force them to have the same bad loot. This discourages people to play the game and encourages people to avoid other players and target bosses and other high value monsters. There has to be that divide between what makes High-roller lobbies what they are.
agree, and to disprove the issues of players saying skill doesnt matter I have raised 3 characters to 20 this season so far most of their hoards were aquired running base kit or like green gear in gob caves or vanilla hell runs with some competent players
i have gone from empty stashes to full several times losing it all and gaining it all back in usually a day or 2, as much of a poor argument it is people really just need to git gud
A part of it is what it means to "git gud" it's kind of a weird way to do it. You gotta farm gold safely and trade for decent gear smartly (or at least I think that's how you do it) and maybe that's not something that's going to be immediately familiar to newer players. The game is still relatively new and I think to label it as "players need to git gud" is a bit much
yeah you gotta build a kit dont wear random blues and purps with white and grays, the stash exists to hold kits for you to collect until full to wear
It's just something that takes time and the game is brutal when you're starting out. I think what they have now is a very nice middle ground between you have to get good enough at getting gear to make thing fun and also playing casually with white gear doesn't mean you aren't neccessarily going to kill everyone on the map but players who are in similar gear brackets are killable.
I feel like the War Maul is pretty useless because of it's attack directions. Might be used more if it had the halberd left click move set. I'd suggest making it (or a different copy) into a cleric spellcasting weapon.
as someone who participated in the playtests it might make these things seem very common sense to me and not to the new players but I do my best to inform rando's i group up with how to play the game
Zweihander does is similar in nature, the war maul you can kinda compensate for it's goofy ah swing arcs using the right click but yeah with the way fights play out it's miserable as hell to use.
in the crpyts map it is almost impossible to use lol
if i'm fighting someone with it i just go next to a wall
warmaul is good in the right scenarios when you arent in tight hallways or just wacking a shield nonstop and I have had fights where i just hold left click and pray and have won because of the massive bonk potential
but yeah if you know how to play against it, it very much so is a bad weapon
True that I play warlock zwei alot and I suffer the same issues. I'm hoping they give the zwei the ability to use it half sworded so you can trade reach and power for speed and maneuverability because I think weapons like the zwei (and war maul respectively) need it. They can't be bottom of the barrel weapons because of their moveset it makes finding a blue war maul with +1 all attributes +1 will feel like the equivalent of a green morning star with +1 all attributes. Generally the weapon moveset shouldn't impact the quality of the weapon as severely as it does. TLDR help war maul not hit wall
what i would rather it do is have like a property that applies a minor slow on hit or pierce armor by like 5-10%
so if you get that 1 hit in it either REALLY hurts or it means they are getting a second
that's kinda dicey when it comes to how gear works with eachother. I don't think it's a bad idea at all but you gotta be careful with how that's gonna stack
ideally it would last 1-2 seconds so stacks cant happen
If you can stack agility and you get good at maneuvering your camera with the arcs it CAN be a really disgusting weapon. Fighter with sprint adrenaline for example. But why would you ever in your life take the war maul instead of anything else.
well i would take it over the zwei at any time
Actually yea I prefer this. I think the half-sword idea maybe kinda scuffs the simplicity of the game but I don't think it's a bad idea. Giving the maul a unique "leg breaker" affect would be cool to see. It would help clerics not get kited which would be a massive help for them.
if zweis first attack chain was the poke it would probably fix most of its issues
Or maybe something cool would be that certain weapons would gain benifits depending on where you hit people. Maul hit leg 50% slow or mace hit head minor blinding affect
Morning star antiheal. something like that.
Changing the first strike makes it too similar to the longsword IMO weapon identities shouldn't meld based on visuals movesets or special attacks granted by weapons I.e war mauls right click
Druid hot take. We already know that they're giving druid the ability to shapeshift into animals and we know that's what they want druid to be when it comes to their identity and how they operate as a class. The general perception is that they're going to be able to turn into a bear or wolf then bite the enemies appendages; which is cool. I think that a way to give them a unique sort of utility and help differentiate them from other classes is to allow them to change into a small animal such as a mouse to gain access to levers (and subsequently loot) that other classes might not be able to access.
How do you suggest stuff?
because I need to suggest that they should fix the UI for smaller monitors
add a parrying mechanic as even when you block a rogues attack you cant attack without being hit as they have the fastest swing time so add a mechanic where if you block at the right time they are breifly stunned to allow a free hit

Blocking granting a free hit would make it so unbelievably unbearable for classes to play against shielded classes. Barb would literally not be able to play the game.
Please immediately fix the random rubber banding that makes you unable to interact with anything or even use an ability or pull out your weapon. Just lost a 1.2k set to it and its the 3rd time its happened since the playtest started. Posting the video to reddit.
my stash is at the point where i go into GC kitted AF hoping a noob kills me so i can clear some space got dayum
What if silencing a bard removes any active buffs from them and teammates
This would actually be a pretty damn good idea for classes who have access to silence abilities. It would add some much needed counterplay to how poweful bard's utility is.
I don't want rock paper scissor situations though where classes counter each other (that's dumb) but like for example if wizard had the silence spell or if warlock gained a silence curse that removes any effects currently granted by spells or abilities in exchange for curse of weakness.
you would have to hit the middle of the shielf or just at the right time becuase when im playing cleric no matter how much i block i can never kill a rogue without taking damage
That's how it is man I hate to say it. Clerics are really slow due to their armor usually and that's compunded by how heavy their weapons and shields are. They are a slow class and a cleric is always going to have a hard time fighting rogues (they should). Clerics fill a really great team role right now as back line support and tanks. Rogues can space you but if you judgement them for the slow and bonk em once or twice when they go for a stab you should be able to kill em (if buffed).
It's borderline impossible to avoid damage from a rogue with hand crossbow even with a shield. It sucks but that's how it is. There's a reason why when I see a ranger as warlock I immediately disengage and wait for a better opportunity to fight them (such as close corners where ranged attacks don't work as well.) Gotta play to each chararcters strengths and against their weaknesses
💯
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/474272/character-slots upvote so we can get more character slots please
We are definitely getting more character slots. It's just a question of when.
What makes you say that
People keep asking for it. Although if it's going to impact the game economy in weird ways or people are just using the slots for mule characters we might not be able to make a character of every class.
But that's already possible with 7 characters. This only impacts people who actively play the game and already have level 20 of every character and want to play them all
7 character slots may allow mule characters but it may still be a limit. People can also delete characters once they hit 20 to start over. I know at least one guy that does that.
Fix the damn shields man, its unacceptably bad and has been for ever.
What shields?
they should add a soldier class like us marine starter item would be a rifle with limited ammo like ranger and perks would be grenade/ flashbang etc.

Not enough portals in high roller goblin caves, have seen tops 2 with the guaranteed exit if you get a 10 man lobby you can kiss your gear goodbye sit in a corner and stay quiet and try to go to the guaranteed exit
i think wizards should get a skill to use pavis
sounds like you dont know how to block
probably
What’s the point of that
can someone @ me with where I’m able to suggest stuff

i just lost all my shit to exiting lobby can we demand this be removed, there was no notification telling me i would lose my gear
It literally tells you that before you ready up
@prisma lynx First 3 screenshots incoming. Anyone else wanna take a guess at these as well? My first game of the night. Guess what tier the majority of the gear was (and as a bonus if you think this was normal or high roller) based on these character models and I'll show you the clip after to see if you guessed correctly.

I’m assuming high roller, the rogue is wearing armour. They don’t wear it unless it’s a good reason.
What tier of gear do you think any of these players are wearing? Like, majority blues, purples, greens, whites, etc...
Purple. Maybe? If it’s high roller
So, just for clarification - you're guessing both of those Rogue pictures are from HR lobbies and believe they are in majority purple tier gear, and your justification for thinking that way is "... the rogue is wearing armour. They don't wear it unless it's a good reason."
we get it bro
geared people farm normals
get over it
yep,
rubberbanding making the game unplayable for me right now
It's a massive problem for players who either don't have the same amount of time to play or are new. It's not something anyone should be happy about, condone, or that people should just get over. The game WILL die if it continues to happen.

i have a really neat and handy idea, add a sort button near stash or for in game, you can change what the sortment is in the settings and you can make it so whenever you press sort it will sort accordingly to what you assigned each square for E.G if i wanted heals only in the top left, id select squares that will prioritise heals, the settings part is a bit extra but a Sort inventory button would be really handy :)
barbarian is very weak when wearing grey items could use more items for them

#RuptureWoundsShouldn'tProcOnHandCrossbow
It should not be possible for the lich to do purple, blue right after while purple is still on you and then do another blue on a single person in conjunction, that is insane.
yo you guys need to figure out the fucking balancing, wizards and warlocks in grey gear 1 tapping people in full blue like 1 spell or 2 melee attacks
yall think we need a better market system for instance the pain of sitting in chat waiting for gear you want but find one perk and have a perk you dont want but you buy it anyway i feel like if you can post it in lets say "the tavern market or Market center" you post your items there and have players select exactly what traits they are looking for and show all listed items posted in the market i think it would be easier idk tho like or dislike
recommend having trade filter for slot type like chest, gloves, cape, necklace, etc.
anyone else having big fps drops when using ignite? i have all low settings, updated drivers, and more and im still lagging
Fun fact: a naked level 15 rogue with a junk castillion dagger can do 53.52 damage in one hit (not accounting for damage reductions on the enemy)
*(not accounting for damage reductions on the enemy) *
I know, but how much is your headshot reduction gonna for that
eh fair enough but if they don't manage to sneak on ya they real dead
What I mean is its doing 53.52 damge in 1 hit with a grey dagger
seems balanced
glances at barbarian
But thats the whole idea of barb, I expect barb to 1 hit me, i don’t expect rogue to
rogues tend to do critical damage but be squishy quintessentially
Tru, easy to kill them. But also easy to die to bleed 2 seconds later
Just smite or spell em before they get to ya ez
Fair
can't remember but can smite target invis rogues?
if ya can maybe ya can smite check for rogues
this is literally in game bud 💀

Adding slots for bags/backpacks to increase inventory space. Different rarities could give you more slots or they could be permanent upgrades per season.

game needs a full wipe. the hacking has flooded the game
Please buff falchion
suggestion, cap phys damage reduction between 50-70%, just died to a cleric with 90% phys dmg reduc plus the -3 damage perk, 0 skill involved in this purple plate armor non-sense
the armor reduction needs to be capped for sure. no game should have 94% melee damage reduction
There should be a logarithmic equation applied to armor, making it go towards a certain number
I miss the archers having a campfire but I guess you can sit now anyways
i hit the guy with 2 headshots and a full 3 hit spear combo and they lost 1/4 of their hp. That is when im runnign gear with %armor pen and true physical
Adding a log func to armor function, would make it easier to balance weapons, and also penalize cringe 0 armor rogues
that's their next update, they're gonna be nerfing them somehow
Great, surely noone in the community likes the idea of only buying a blue+ weapon to immediately double their damage, or the extreme jumps in between weapon damage to armor rarity. Full blue vs full blue + purp weapon ranges between 30-50% increased damage, which I don't think anyone enjoys
The game is in serious need of an actual incentive to go high roller if you have good gear, which is what I feel is the main contributor to the issue many are facing right now of normal lobbies getting demolished by squads that, for all intensive purposes, SHOULD be going high roller with the sort of gear they have (full loadouts of blues/purples). At the moment high roller lobbies are mainly populated by default-kitted gold farming rogues and rangers, or mostly empty, which makes for terrible PvP, so why would kitted squads pay up the ante for a match they're more than likely to not see any actual action in unless they're boss farming? At the moment going into high roller lobbies with big gear is simply too risky for rewards you could just get by running normal lobbies a few times.
I've been on both sides of this coin, and despite how annoying it is, I don't blame the players who do decide to roll their stacked kits in the normal lobbies. My friendgroup and I essentially NEVER run high roller and typically just end up looting a decent amount of blue gear from when we decide to go to hell. Eventually we end up working our way to having kits that would justify going high roller, but we don't have any reason to, which regrettably makes for an awful PvP experience for lesser-geared squads we roll through. Right now it's a case of "don't hate the player, hate the game", because if you're looking for good PvP, high roller is not the place to be.
Not exactly a novel, @subtle blade , I'm just way too critical of myself when I proofread.
just add duo queue/mode on the current maps right now (crypt or ruins) no need to create a duo map, it's too much to ask, simply give us an option to play 2v2, shouldn't be a problem on the said maps right now
Multiple pages of inventory space and or let us trade between our characters freely
Multiple pages of inventory space causes hoarding, which is something they're trying to avoid.
Give barbarian a perk that increases the weapon damage of fists
We are going to get wipes anyways I dont see the problem. Could also fix this by letting more items stack and stack sizes to be higher. Half my stash is full of gold coin purses and heals/pots
Duo's needs a map. whether it be created or just an option to duo que on the big maps.
Do you think bards should sound better if they are better bards? Please join the discussion, leave a comment and/or approve if you think this is a good idea https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/472948/bard-music-should-sound-better-when-you-get-good
I could possibly agree with stacking utility items, campfires, healing pots etc. However, the problem I see with allowing more storage space is through incentivized grinding and farming of lower quality gear to replace when you eventually die. I believe they want the limit to artificially constrict the amount of replacements one can have, as well as make you actually think about what you choose to save, i.e not hoarding everything. Having limited storage space also incentivizes trading with other players through gold making, incrementing the value of the trading post, both in terms of players storage management (gold usually requires less space than gear), and by causing more of a gold sink to limit the growth of the market value, leading to a more accessible market for newer players.
You should be able to queue on the 3-person maps as a duo?
sorry lemme try again we need a 2v2v2v...... etc map or que option
ah
ah
please just need 1 more stash tab for the time being until you guys implement more ways to unlock stash tabs. i want to keep playing but my stash is full of coin purses
Yes, but you can't have +flat damage without also having +flat damage reduction. In either case, you will run into balancing issues either at the very top or at the very bototm of gear when it comes to either of those systems. I'd personally prefer a mix of both and converting a low %, somewhere between 10-20% to true damage to prevent situations where you're so well geared that your armor makes you invulnerable. If you had 99% damage reduction and someone where to smack you with 250 damage, you'd take somewhere around 26 damage. With the stacking of health, this is something fairly reasonable, no?
rouge just 2 shot me from the front when i had full greens cant wait for the nerf
Were you a fighter? Because that happened to me as fully armored fighter with a bunch of greens. The Rogue wasn't all that geared either, just a blue dagger and a few other pieces.
same i killed the rest of his team and second winded to full and he just tanked 2 halberds to the head and 2-3 shot me
a small dagger doing more than a giant fucking halberd to the head is wild im glad they are nerfing it
I'm cool with losing those fights but I want to be able to take more than a couple hits from a rogue especially if I'm going to be this heavy.
if you are too good at the game you have to play tetris with all of your gold and good gear not good game design
yes nerf rogues, take all their starting gear away, you do same dmg with fists, run faster and many can dodge attacks
enough with the sarcasm. I'm not advocating that we nerf double jump or anything. Just give us some +flat damage reduction to compensate for +flat dam gear.
I think this is very false, to the point where I genuinely wonder how our experiences differ so profoundly
Highroller IS worth it for groups with god tier gear
add a gears score in the game !
3 shotting full plate fighters is not ok you dunce
ngl, something needs to be done about the high damage reduction fighters. Its cheesy as fuck to run
they are nerfing the scaling but rouges can just kill them in 3 shots anyways
esp since its pretty easy to get 50-60 percent for only like 300-500 gold
i had 60 percent and got 3 shot from a rouge bro its not doing much apparently
u running the cuirass? cause the cuirass and plate armor kills ur magic resist
he didnt use the magic attack on me just straight hits
Rogue spells and skills deal magic damage. If he had a build with a lot of will and you had negative magic resist its not weird you got killed by your counter
probably had weakpoint then
he had pure physical damage on his armor and rings
stop comparing apples with oranges dunce
bruh what are you rambling about?
falchion is 100% broken
nerf everything change every class into the same class called "stinkyboy" and the only attack anyone can do is slap each other for 1 dmg
nah, just a few things :). Also would you prefer we don't point out things that are overtuned or ruining the experience?
lol I'm just being silly ignore me
whats up with the falcions? it appears a bit overtuned
yo on warlock are all spells dark magic or what
High damage, fast swing time, long range, longsword is having similar issues, I'm mostly complaining about taking 80+% damage in one hit in full blue gear because the bard I fought had a green falchion or smth. Or warlocks with gray falchions dealing 70-80 dmg after 30% mitigation
None
hellfire is a fire spell I think
Can we remove so rogues can't use rapier? I'm all for them being the fastest class in the game, but also having one of the longest range weapons just feels a bit oof to me
and take away weapon mastery from fighter so they cant use all weapons
Eh, i dont mind them as much, but I dont like the fastest class having the fastest weapon, with the longest 1h weapon range
Just take away all perks and skills from every class and every1 will stop complaining right?
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/474543/wizard-spell-and-perk-suggestion-2 let me know what you think
what perks are good on the lock since dark magic ones dont matter?
Malice is good, self heal from dot is good, the rest I think many are kinda disfunctional
"DoNT AsK FOr ThINgS ThAT YOu tHINk wiLL imProVe THe gAMe!?"
I do think the rapier is kind of overpowered honestly, it should be -15 movespeed at least. The range and speed combation is so strong.
Please add a report feature to trade chat, so many scammers and blatant RWT'ers, especially with golden keys, this needs to be addressed.
People would just go for the shortsword then, the damage difference is about 2-3 (compared to tiers) but the move speed is only -10 at the cost of the rapiers range.
range is huge though, I think rapier would still be better, it also has faster animations
If any weapon needs a change, its the viking sword, worst weapon i ever handled, the startup attack takes forever and it just feels like a worse mace
Rapier has bad DPS compared to other options
sort button for stash inventory
it scales really well with added damage gear, dps is not an issue
And daggers and short swords scale better from those effects. Think before you speak.
rapier has huge range, great for rogues and soloing bosses
short sword has longer animations than rapier
Daggers and short swords lack range though, thats the rapiers benefit and why shifty rogues love it so much, because they can poke from another country and still avoid a lot of damage
Okay. I'm just saying it's not overpowered
If Rogue has spear in everybody would use spear because it's 10373827x better than rapier
lmfao it has decent damage but the main draw is the absurd range it has while still being lighter than most other 1h swords
Spear slows you by 40 I promise you no rogue would use that over the rapier which only slows by 13
Spear also only does 60% of its damage if it hits anywhere outside it's sweetspot, Rapier deals max damage regardless of how close or far you are from the target
And just for frame of reference, 60% of a spear's damage is LESS than rapier of the same rarity
If you are worried about weapon out speed you would run short sword
No, you wouldn't, because a 3 point difference is a FAR cry from a 27 point difference pal
As it has by far he lowest attack penalty on movement speed.
It's super easy to hit that 100 percent spot and you can get multiple hits per swing if you know how to aim it
short swords have ass damage
Short sword doesn't get its combo interrupted or slow you down much when swinging
Some people don't know the actual weapon techs and act like they do....
The only shit weapons are viking sword, staff, and quarterstaff. In that order. Of bad to less bad
How do you send skill suggestions even in chat #d-and-d-suggestions ?
Short sword would be Ranger's highest DPS weapon if he didn't have Spear
That doesn't matter nearly as much as you think it does especially when taking into account the range difference
Range doesn't matter much if you actually understand how to dodge every weapon
Ok so we're using kindergarten playground arguments now is it? "Nuh uh I never get hit doesn't matter"
No I'm saying you vastly overestimate the practical utility the rapier brings over weapons across all classes when talking top skill level
I think ppl use average skill level as the basis of an argument for weapons
Yeah ok buddy
Is rapier good? Yes. Does it anything op if your pvp aren't actual baboons. No
It's OP if you're exclusively dueling with melee
If you pull up on me with the rapier dance I'm just gonna franc axe you in the chest twice and loot your previously-prancing corpse
Or if they have a spear. Or a shield and working eyeballs
Nah, they can space the shield
Blockstun is worse than clank recovery lmao
How is a shortsword going to help you in the case of the enemy having a spear
presumably by stabbing the dude before he pulls the spear out, chief
rogues have to be the most braindead players ive ever seen in any game
Being able to spin around them quicker since the penalty is way lower and their first attack is a thrust
blud if we are talking about getting the jump on people how is it that the rapier's extra range "isn't a factor" like what
Backing up and swinging with a rapier is a 50 percent move penalty
Are you aware that thrusts can be dragged just like any other weapon attack to hit someone who tries to dodge them
spear is the best weapon in the game even after the nerf, so it's gonna win any 1v1 until you start throwing made up scenarios in play tbh
Can be dragged and are actually successfully dragged without hitting something are different
It's not even spear's fault at this point, they need to just increase clank recovery across the board
In the context of rangers arsenal?
You beat a spear by making it hit the environment
nah, spear wants to reset its combo with clanks
Faster than 3 or recovering normally
Because if you trying to 1v1 a falch shield with a spear you gonna lose
not really just hit the legs
best melee, still stomps low roller
don't do it in HR because you'll get crumpled in a single hit in melee, obviously
And do limb dmg to someone wearing plate?
Hitslow is more important than damage when trying to keep someone away from you
Hits still slow, stronger weapons slow for longer
Its a bit faster yeah but if you are being circled then you are only going to hit with the drag in most cases and do 60 percent damage versus 110 percent with the over head
they have to be real wiggle worms to dodge a headshot, and you can still just walk straight into them to blockpunch with spear
Just gotta turn at an angle now, and it's hard to hit anything but body
Probably for the best though, it's toxic as hell and needs to be fully fixed
Working on monster agression could be a great thing, i mean you have 10 mobs after your ass and someone who want to kill you can easily walk past them and they wont even react and still run after you, same with invisibility where mobs just stop agressing you but wont transfer agression on the other guy wh'os 5meter away from them and will keep chasing you after invisibility stops ?
AI improvements are coming, but that's something that'll have to wait until the game has more core systems fleshed out, just like making real maps and collapsing lobbies
@abstract swallow I just realized crystal sword warlock with ignite and blow of corruption and stacking additional magic damage probably has a good chance of one shooting just about any player
Cause you are getting 4x damage out of the additional magic damage.
Sword, ignite, burn, blow
increase range on lightning strike pls ! 🙂

yeah, fact of the matter is they'd have to make above and below versions of EVERY sound for it not to suck, beyond fixing vertical audio just not playing in many cases
sitting with 20 golden keys in inv for god sake make gold harder to get
Not flexing but it gets so boring after you learn the game
brother i am incredibly poor
The loot buffs were uncalled for tbh
Hopefully we get F1 back next wipe for better progression
Yeah basically made anything that didn't roll good enchantmentss not worth the time selling
i mean people can open 1 golden key while they try to make 10 friends in same game and all filling thier invitories and go out
Yep
They really need to make rarity less important for base stats so high rarity gear is about cool magic rolls and bonuses
Everyone is loaded with gold just printing blue-purple gear from low roller now
1 golden key can fill eveyone invitatories with + 1k loot
unlimited chest looting idea was 200% bad
I jsut witnessed two rogues team up in GC in that 3 story wooden scaffolding room and kill like 2 people...but then when one escape portal spwaned....they turned on each other....I then shot 1 arrow at the winner who was trying to leave and dead. best GC interaction ive had yet.
it was meant to be a temporary solution

Gobbo cave better map
hunting traps need to be nerfed
Add a cancel que button, no telling how many times ive qued into a lobby when i forgot a heal or something. This needs to be kinda high priority ngl as i know almost any and everyone would love this feature
There is a popup before entering a run that reminds you to check your inventory for everything that you need in the run
yea but when youve been grinding all night and continously hit that button you kinda forget somethings as its just engraved to press ok just to ready up.
Then train yourself not to? That is their warning before you go in so you can cancel. There also is a cancel button but you get put in so fast now that you cant click it in time
there isnt a cancel button? broski the button turns into dots and there isnt a cancel button anywhere in sight.
It was in previous playtests
there was never a cancel button, Reconnect was added in what 4 or 5? but cancel has never been in the game
can screenshot the preloading screen if needed to prove my guy im constantly recording and ive gone back and looked and its nowhere to be found so thats why its here in "Suggestions"
Dnd needs a kind of matchmaking...its so dumb to fight trios with purple gear in normal dungeons because they are too scared to loose their shit in high roller........
Its because High roller is complete garbage compared to norm hell. KenKnobi put it best, the circle closes way to fast only to have 5 minutes to get loot/fight/and clear rooms with harder mobs only to get out with either breaking even or a net loss.
nah, destroying n00bs in normals is fun and addicting to many people
Yah...i played the last three playtests.. But this is ridiculous. Nearly everytime a full purple or orange gang.... Camping the blue portals... And rarely going deeper
Update the game im already bored, add new stuff to do i want new map NOW!
Add a hideout like skyrim house mod where u store all your items in
we need more character slots
Yeah I feel u
So a lot of people have asked for some kind of gearscore matchmaking system
along with that, there are a lot of people who say highroller isn't worth it because of the buy in & the added risk
but hear me out here
what if highroller didn't have a price to join but instead had a minimum gear requirement?
no
any reason?
It wouldnt work, it would be better if the HR rounds laster longer
I don’t rlly see that being a thing tho kinda annoying to code too vs what they already have other games like eft have buy in for there maps plus what if I don’t wanna wear pants but then it makes me just stupid shit like that
Oi what is the best way to play warlock? Vs wizards they blast me down and vs meelee the wack me down. Have not figured the balance
perhaps HR does need a longer timer, but that is a separate issue
also why do you say it wouldn't work? I personally would find HR more palatable if I didn't need to drop an additional 100g along with risking whatever I bring
the buy-in served multiple purposes, but most importantly makes it possible for the community to self-segregate rather than engage solely in optimal/sized content
can I hear some of the other purposes? because this proposition doesn't change the self-segregating nature of HR
How do I suggest ? I would love for some kind of damage indicator on the bosses !
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/
suggestions can be posted here and then you can just submit the link in this chat to call attention to it
speaking of though, yall should consider this proposal for bard :)
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/473428/reduce-instrument-bloat
the buy-in acts as a gold tax, contextualizes what a healthy gold stock/income is, and tempers the much more lucrative payouts of HR
Without the cash buy-in you're removing the "floor" of HR both in content and accessibility
In what world would I not just rat straight into HR for gear and cash when it can pay out so much better and I can enter at 0 risk?
people will not just play as optimally as possible regardless of fun
but they will also feel entitled for all content accessible to them to be easily completable without investment (see: goblin cave nerfs)
the moment you drop the HR ante you're gonna see the same kind of low grade players whining about loot and difficulty that you did when EA launched and caused 3 loot buffs before even two weeks had passed
the ante exists to gatekeep babies
I go to HR in order to not play with babies
well thats why I proposed replacing it with gear requirements instead
the risk is the gear you would need to bring
the gold tax comes from the market as this change would also slightly increase the demand for gear
and though the reason of income contextualisation is a valid point, I would also argue that this change would bring a more important contextualisation; recommended gear
I wish I could bind each slot of my utility belt instead of having a rotating hotkey
gear minimums just screws lean builds/classes and gates HR access to having whatever floor in kits stored in stash
cutting corners on gear is an expected part of HR nights, and not being able to do that just means a group stops playing or goes and stomps low roller
I simply don't understand what you are talking about
how far are you cutting corners on your gear? also I have zero issue with people using skill to defeat lobbies in normal matches, I do take issue with people using the power scaling of gear to stomp normal lobbies, but I'm not here to suggest changes to normal lobbies right now
@granite plinth @earnest saddle THE PEOPLE WANT MORE MAPS THE PEOPLE ARE BORED
the way he answered this is the correct way. When you play the game you get a sense of someones gear based on a lot of factors. It is something you have to learn and part of the game. There are obvious cases, but the majority of the time you understand based on circumstances.
my guess would be Low Roller, Wizard/Cleric/Bard probably has some blues and purples
The rogues look less geared, one is using a hood and only seems to have a rapier, also they are running adventurer boots insteaf of lightfall so I have a feeling most of their kit is found or gotten from the NPCs
other rogue has a crossbow, mask, and lightfall boots which is much more typical so my guess is they got out their last match or two and has a little bit of backup gear or enough money to buy stuff off the market
oh, but the three casters
I see capes on the Bard and Wizard, also I might be crazy but think there is a color difference with purple crystal balls which I think that is one
also the cleric has full plate armor but is running leather boots which could be coincidence but my bet would be its an active choice to not have metal footsteps
please make it so that the mobs don't follow you across the map. Running around as a rogue and look behind me to find a conga line of zombies, skeletons and sprites just following along
once you get far enough away they should drop aggro
also you can just close a door
Ohh please ban these people who just camp 5 min next to the entrance to cave troll just to hunt people who kill Cave troll... its so annoying and its so common
0 loot from dungeon just camping for them
- many of them are cheaters who see invisible people
https://clips.twitch.tv/SparklingCuriousSproutNotATK-KMCfmn5zyG3ShCf9
Yeah but he guessed none of those 5 screenshots correctly.
You'd think so, but "far enough away" seems to be the otherside of the map in some instances
I understand that stash space is something under consideration, while I agree I don't think we need much more stash space however what are the thoughts on having a utility stash tab where only utility items such as potions, campfires, explosive bottles, etc can be placed. I am not talking about a whole another tab the same size as our regular stash but maybe something like 6-8 rows where we can stow those type of items. Another thought is if we don't want potions stacking to sets of three like they were in previous playtest; perhaps letting those items stack in stash only.
Nerf bard. INSANE CLASS.
from my experience it depends on the mob, mini-boss enemies will chase you down pretty far, something like a skeleton stops once you get like 20 meters out or so
Wizard was in full purple. Bard in full blue and Cleric in full green with one blue. Both Rogues were full white. All in normal lobbies as well.
Buff wizard just slightly?
I've been playing warlock a little bit funnily enough my most hated character which was rogue because they just sit around and stab me to death suddenly became much more easy to manage mainly because of the burst damage but then I have noticed that Fighters barbarian clerics just don't give a f*** if they see you with normal stuff and to be honest you can't really do that much you can still kill them but it feels like really hard cleric at least have a very decent melee weapon warlock doesn't get anything there is a different between a warlock with Gear and war of without a gear so I don't know maybe give them the ability to have the arming sword as a beginner weapon it's not that strong and I can't see why warlock can't use that it would definitely give warlock a better chance instead of just having a staff that do almost no damage and is very slow maybe even just a dagger that feels very warlock you know what dagger to Sacrifice people
I wish that had been my experience lolol
oh, I think I misunderstood the setup, I thought it was party of 3 and a party of 2 rogues so I assumed the cleric would have similar gear to the other two casters
I also expected a green or two on the rogue I said looked slightly better geared
all and all I didn't do too bad
40% ain't too bad, but that's also a very small sample size. Point is, even though that's technically speaking pretty good, you cannot reliably guess what tier of gear people are wearing just by looking at them.
for sure, it would be great if gear had more visual differences between rarities
there have been several moment where I fight someone who doesn't look too geared only for them to be rockin full blue armor with a purple weapon
other times I thought someone was more geared than they actually were because they had a full set of gear but it turned out to be all whites
in my opinion the matchmaking should just do if you have high level Gear you shouldn't go against people with no Gear it's most likely easier than to make every single rarity items look different for the programmers for the time being
The first 3 was a trio in no-ante. The wizard was just fully decked out and the Cleric less-so. Which, to be frank, in order to be as effective as possible then funneling your dps with gold/items and then buffing them up like this trio did is the meta play. Clerics can still be very tanky and great healers with a smaller budget than Wizards can be effective murder machines.
it could work like this Gray and white can meet each other green and blue can meet each other blue and orange can meet each other
👍
oh dang, okay
and very true, cleric has pretty high effectiveness even at low gear levels and wizard scales like crazy so that is very much the smart play
thank you I didn't know that was a thing
oh! almost forgot
while it is totally plausible that guy was a cheater, they could have also been using the rogue's footsteps
when there is very little sound going on it is very easy to track an invisible person by their steps, even more so since the attacker didn't have shoes so his own footsteps sounds drastically different from the rogue's
there was one time I was a ranger in the goblin caves dealing with a rogue
never even saw him but I heard him walk into the room from an open door
even though he had stopped moving I was able to hit him with an arrow from across the room
it was a bit of luck, a bit of knowing where I would have stopped, and a bit of keen hearing
How is that a cheater lol, going invis right infront of him ofc he's gnna swing, dont think thats conclusive at all
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/474851/utility-stash-tab
I understand that stash space is something under heavy consideration, I am on the side of not wanting to give much more space. However, I think adding a tab that is perhaps 6-8 rows where you can only place utility items such as campfires, potions, explosive bottles, etc. Another thought if we really don't want to add additional stash space then maybe let us stack utility items (in stash only) up to 3 like previous playtest.
That guy from this clip was chasing the streamer on speed hack. While streamer was geared as rogue for movement speed that barbarian was geared in full junk gray items and was still faster than rogue. ( unfortunately I doesn't have a clip from that chase). But there is a clip from the same guy. https://clips.twitch.tv/HyperObesePoultryKAPOW-X8wwf_2-iGH2fgUo
( you can press watch full video and see a chase from that time. wielding double axe and still faster than rogue)
I'd be down for dedicated tabs for specific items
leaves more space for important stuff while still allowing the devs to limit our storage in whatever way they feel is best
As a ranger im very excited for quiver slots which will be nice, but yea having a smaller tab for utility items will be great, as a ranger with high base resourcefulness I am essentially the dedicated campfire placer so i tend to hold onto a few. It would be nice to have the extra space to stow them.
alternatively they could make the toolbelt an item itself, kinda like a tiny backpack for utility items only
I think that would be the move, to place quiver in a util slot.
I'm honestly surprised you can't place arrows and bolts on your belt
looks weird yeah
ok yeah, that person is def cheating
first hit aside, his second swing hits the wall that is 10 feet away from him
Class lock, no 2 ranger 2 cleric shit please
Make a discord event so the countdown is available here- a lot of messsages in general are checking this- the event could also include FAQ of the event- like are characters/levels being wiped? are inventories? is it season 1? is it another preseason? how long will it last ? etc
bad take
I see where you are coming from but it would be more wise to balance the classes in a way where running more than one of a class is not problematic
some people want to run 3 man bard and be a marching band
others might want to go shadow wizard money gang with 3 wizards (I guess warlock could be included now that they exist)
restricting party comp like that I feel will take away more than it adds
god I fucking hate wizards, magical damage is the harder to protect compared to phys. It has a great casting time (unless you use a staff but an 11g investment is nothing) and is overall just annoying to go against unless you're a ranger or something
I just wanna cry a bit, I'm not suggesting anything.
its okay buddy, maybe dark plate next time
No.
increase trade window size
Yes
Already one of the strongest classes, doesn't need anymore buffs after it legit just got a spellcasting speed increase.
Do you think that the Non-plate classes are also getting Damage Reduction nerfs?
I imagine they're going to be cutting back on scaling at the high end. So it won't affect anyone except Cleric + Fighter.
I hope you're right. I feel like my Squishies handle higher end PVE with well-earned DR.
its cringe in a class/character system. i.e apex overwatch league etc
Admittedly. I don't feel like the PDR stacking is that much of an issue, aside for goblin caves. Most comps can spare a slot for magic damage. Only problem is the 1 v 1 matchups who don't have a way to inflict magical damage against each other..Altho admittedly there are minor ways to go about it. Some fighters are mad ladding weapon mastery to try out crystal sword against other fighters
Only ones who massively suffer would be ranger, since they need to stack some armor pen.
I was about to say, probably only ranger.
They're already working on elemental arrows and quiver, so that will be resolved soon hopefully.
elemental arrows confirmed?
That's great news! Never heard of that.
a game with 24, 38, and 164 character to choose from respectively
on a different note, have you ever heard of Team Fortress 2?
On a dev interview, it was confirmed. Not sure how far down the line it is tho.
We need a gearscore matchmaking system.
The biggest class balance I feel the game is in need of is a scathing rework to the support characters. I know many of us have moaned about it endlessly, but the most problematic aspect of class balance is just how insanely strong cleric and bard are right now, and I don't think it's something that just reworking numbers will fix. In most situations, you NEED a cleric or bard, they're just too good to not be running, and almost always automatically puts your squad at a massive disadvantage in PvP if you aren't.
If I had to suggest a band-aid fix, something I think that could be tweaked is how free these classes having such a wide variety of buffs is. If cleric had less knowledge by default, it'd require the player to actually make choices about what buffs they want to bring. At the moment you don't really need to worry about your spell capacity, as you can already have most of the best buffs by default, the only real thing to work towards is expensive spells like Sanctuary and resurrection if you REALLY want it.
Bard I think is a much easier fix, for a class that doesn't need to worry about spell conservation like wizard, music memory 2 should not be a skill they have. Either that or make knowledge impact music capacity. Again, forcing players to make choices about what buffs they value the most would make bard significantly more balanced IMO, not completely because I feel some of its spells are still a little too strong, but much better.
Ehhh, less cleric. More bard atm.
Currently you can run any comp, aslong as you have a bard.
3 bards?
I'm a Cleric and I support the Cleric nerf.
With how Din bard is atm. It'd probably be insanely viable.
fair
I'm going to hate losing DR as a Cleric though, YET DESRVED, even if I move so slow that I get kited so much. Edit, whoops, sorry on the reply.
I do imagine spell capacity will be bigger requirement when they start introducing more spells, then people need to pick and choose. Also it's a constant balance on how many SP it takes for certain spells to the point i imagine it'll constantly be changed.
Sure, my big issue with Bard at the moment is that they're an incredibly powerful caster who doesn't need to concern themselves with that system at ALL.
Is there going to be an update tonight?
They're going through a series of nerfs. Devs are being made aware of it.
It should be second the countdown is finished, we'll be hit with a content update. Edit - Tho they might delay 🤷♂️
Some persons aren't that good at switching weapons and playing songs. Some are great.
I am aware, I just think what I proposed would be a better overall fix rather than constantly tweaking numbers. Bards can still run 10 spells for free, no matter how nerfed they are, say what you will but I feel that's way too much utility for one class to have by default.
The countdown ends when everyone logs in!
Honestly. Second they add a dispel magic to something like wizard or warlock. Buffing classes will be alot less stronger. Biggest problem with bard is Din with it's bullshit magic damage stacking, going through walls bs.
Hi, could you elaborate? Are you saying additional Magic damage works? I don't think it does...
The only real imbalance in the game lies in items.
Flat increases to stats specifically things like (true) damage and healing has a ridiculously massive impact, more so than levels or playing a different class.
A Warlock with Torture Mastery perk heals for a base of 1 per tick of Curse of Pain for a total of 8 hp after 8 seconds but every flat +1 Magical Healing effectively doubles that base healing of 8. +1 Magical Healing and you heal for 16, +2 = 24, etc. Not to mention you can already apply it to multiple targets to double up on that healing.
And just now I watched my half hp, greenkitted Barb get 1 shot by a Bard's Din of Darkness because he spammed a flat + (True) Magic Damage on his gear.
These kind of increases should be % based and not flat.
I say look at gear rather than classes.
And while we're talking, something needs to be done against a fully kitted blue/purple team steamrolling new players in the non-HR dungeons. Add a gearscore based matchmaking system with luck increases on higher gearscore. Needless to say this needs to be a party average.
It's movement speed buff, does need a ramp down tho.
The meta for bard on Din. Is just stacking additional magic damage, since it does infact work. Fully geared, you will kill people in afew ticks.
It's bullshit, since you can never push a bard near a doorway since it goes through walls.
I want to believe u but I have a hard time believing it. ANYONE have a video!?
It stuns me that this isn't already in the game, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's on its way sometime in the near future.
I thought +True only makes some of your innate damage pierce. Is that not what it says in the terminology?
It means that the damage ignores armour fully.
Right, so that doesn't mean that Din's 5 damage per hit deals 6 damage a tick. I would think it would mean that 1 out of the 5 damage ignores armour. Right?
No because it's +1 True Damage, not 1 Damage Converted to True Damage
That blows my mind. Is magic missile the same way? Does each missile do more??
It would mean that the 5 dmg per tick goes through reductions and 1 dmg doesn't.
I believe true damage doesn't scale with your power though
Not sure, I think it's per instance of damage if not specified otherwise.
Next you're going to tell me burn damage ticks get +1 haha. Edit: oh okay thank God.
Might do, not sure how those work.
I'll run some Din of Darkness tests later. I might have been mistaken about it.
Lemme clip my shadowplay
If I recall correctly, some things like Din of Darkness have a multiplier for added damage so you don't get the full damage bonus on each tick of the effect
I had killed skeletons with a base Bard's Din with about the 5th Din. And then I equipped like +3 Additional and I didn't notice a change. BUT maybe I made a mistake. Maybe the additional damage- Exactly what @tulip hill just said. Maybe I need to bring the Bard's Will to 15 and run the tests from there.
yeah, in the patch notes they refer to it as an "attribute application factor"
How do I suggest a feature?
Ty
Thank you! That's insane. It's even crazier that your buddy died. I hope this gets immediately addressed.
He was half hp and took 3 tics
Nah. I like having I instant dungeon queues
Bard Din is the most broken thing in the game atm in HR's.
did some pixel measurements and against the barbarian it did about 1/10 of their health per tick
against the cleric it did about 1/6 of their health per tick
for something that has a base damage of 5, that is some insane scaling
@tulip hill Why i was saying, 3 bard Din would be viable. It'd probably be busted tbh if it works like i'm picturing.
Actually, how do bard songs work with peacemaking? could you hypothetically do 2 din of darknesses with a peacemaking going so you just melt the enemy and they can't even try to wack you
Did the math, that Din did about 30 dmg per tic.
I think it's stronger just to 3 Din tbh.
but not as funny
Bards can just kite back with it if they were gonna get whacked, don't need to stop playing.
bard is hilarious. Incredible versatility, never lost at range or melee, infinite spells, can hit just as hard as a fighter with a falchion with even more speed and similar high levels or armor and mr
Why it's getting nerfed, along with rogue.
I also can't get over how strong luck is.
I tried bard and picked their luck perk and was getting out with at least 1/2 purples a run from lions head chests (which of course I can open without a picklock and without sacrificing a perk for it like rogues)
I'm not as lucky, but bard is definitely OP. I saw Fallon's clip.
I combined it with the luck potion once with the 150 roll and outfitted a naked team in nearly all blues after about 3 rooms
In HR?
Yeah, sorry good point should've added that
Now if warlock gets half the treatment bard did, i'll be in love.
Warlock has similar issues with item value.
How so?
@normal lava I posted it here
Yeah I run spellless lock until I get 1 piece of + magical healing and then I go to spell lock lmao. The gear is definitely an issue.
Oh, I haven't seen magical healing in PVP be too crazy. But then again, I didn't know about Din so... Maybe I don't know shit.
Well, there is a cap for warlock healing unfortunately unlike Din. Also warlock is giving up stats in other areas to gain it's magical healing value and has a pre-requirement of having a target to leech offa. Meta warlock doesn't even use torture mastery or spells. It's phantom + corruption blow.
Run proper bladelock, ultimate duelist.
Yeah I saw a bard in purples/blues with each having about +2 magic power or true magic damage and he wiped a HR crypts solo.
No one could get close before din of darkness 2 shot them
Cast CoP on someone, heal for 40 over 8 seconds while slashing him to bits with your Falchion, don't forget that extra 20 dmg burst + antiheal and win at least every 1 v 1. Not to mention the massive area denial that is Hellfire.
You can't have a high enough AR value to survive long, even with the healing.
Speaking of, I think the falchion is also a problem and think it's base stats or attack speed needs to be lowered. That thing is -nutty-
And if you take a bard or cleric, survival as a lock is a nonissue.
You're rogue levels of squishy. Why people are running phantom + corrupt. You walk in, tap someone and phantom to reposition and reset.
Don't need high AR as long as it isn't heavy either. I wouldn't tell anyone to just facetank everything, need to watch your footwork either way. Just don't mess with rangers, they're your bane.
Yeah lock has enough hp to survive 1 hit (unless it's a fully buffed barb or ranger longbow headshot) so if you do you just retreat and heal up over 1-2 CoP casts (again only if you have + magical healing)
It's alot of "do this" but in practice. You're gonna get tapped by the buffed fighter with bard sprinting at you.
That's what the hellfire is for. Stops people charging at you in their tracks.
But you'll need knowledge to switch to Hellfire that quickly.
Yeah, but if you can't hear the plate boots of the fighter charging at you you deserve to get got
I consider Warlock a Rogue with lifesteal instead of stealth. In teamfights you play it the same, you're not a frontline, you're not a backline, you're the DPS/Carry, you hit shit beside/behind your face/frontline.
Yeah. They're the burst dps class. BoC is insane on a headshot
Exactly. So go corruption + phantom.
Fox traps to know triple tick on you
I think Bards and DR are much more pressing matters than Warlocks.
okay
yeah
the songs going through walls is problematic for sure
was doing some tests on bard in the goblin caves and I killed a guy without even realising it just from clearing mobs
Warlock simply needs to be finished lmao. The fact that 2 of their perks are nonfunctional is hilarious
Warlock isn't a class atm. If you check the leaderboards. It's very pathetic. I do think it's "kinda" an issue.
Phantom can not be compared to BoC. 20 bonus damage is more than enough to one-shot a lot of people with a headshot + a bonkers 70% antiheal to counter cleric healing if they don't instadie. That vs a poor positioning crutch.
But that's the only thing that works atm in HR.
Phantomize can also be used to bait people, its not a poor position if you did it on purpose
I'll say it again though, classes are not the issue. There is no glaring class imbalance. The imbalance lies in items. They need to sort out their flat stat increases, add caps and work more % into it.
They are one of the best Solo characters and can wipe the lich king easily. They have a place, AND it's still experimental in the eyes of Ironmace. Warlock is going to be changed regardless. Certain things like Din acting the way it does must have gone without notice by Ironmace and is, in my opinion, way bigger a deal. BUT I don't mean to have a stick up my ass about it. Sorry
I will say, I wish phantomize could be cancelled early. I think that'd be really neat.
PVE might be slightly overtuned. PVP is abysmal.
Relying on the stupidity of others, idk.
I want to show you my Warlock but I'm getting "Sever Error. Please try again (2)" Is everyone else online??
Phantom is more used to reset the timing on your corruption blow. Get in, poke. Wait for it, poke again.
Actually, I take it back. The buff I want for phantomize is make it so traps don't hit you during it. Because that's nonsense.
You mean no spells?
Ye.
Strange
In team fights, a second corruption isn't viable, imo
It's what most HR warlocks are running outside boss hunting teams.
Oh yeah spelless lock is dope and I do think stronger, I just think the +magical healing lock is silly
if they don't pressure you just Curse of Pain them over and over again
speaking of, Phantomize does allow you to be a lot more aggressive with your position, even if its not to bait them into a bad spot, the fact that you can just leave once they try to pressure you is a nice advantage to have
BoC is generally better for actually winning fights in a lot of cases though
Well, had fun chatting lads. Off to dinner.
Yeah if I'm planning on going to inferno as a lock I take spells. If not I don't. That's really it tbh.
have a nice dinner!
Have a good one!
more viable than you would think, too bad you have to give up your healing so its feel very lacking without other sources of heals
it also doesn't have much support from perks yet
Yeah he just needs a perk addition and fix on the existing ones so they trigger on his spells
It feels like too much to give up. Hellfire is insane area denial, the midrange poke and heal from CoP, the % stat decrease. For a skill that takes you out of the fight while your team fights on.
And @normal lava, if the strat really is to use phantomize to wait for BoC cd then you're either talking about goblin dungeons or you're big time trolling your team stepping out of the fight that long.
I've found success with spell-less warlock in the goblin caves, but a lot of things are viable there
Sure, goblin caves I get.
I would not recommend it for the 3 man dungeons
without any ranged options warlock is awful in team fights
Yeah I'd never phantomize in a teamfight unless I've been chosen as the target of their frontline, or stuck in a corner (or jumped on by a rogue). Too much dps loss esp cuz you can run some really nonsensically high dps weapons
so I know right now Warlock doesn't have a ton going for it since there is a general lack of content for them atm, but should the healing from Torture Mastery be recoverable health only?
Only if they make curse of sacrifice remove recoverable life instead of actual life
No, I think it's fine so long as items are fixed. We can't really say it's busted or it's not busted when the base is just 1 hp per tic for a total of 8 hp but when geared with + magical healing it can go to say 5 per tic for 40 hp total or even more.
I feel like that would be an even bigger nerf
wait, is the damage from Power of Sacrifice recoverable?
I think I phrased it poorly. Currently when you cast curse of sac on yourself for the +str buff it removes your hp and you do not have any recoverable hp from that drain. That -SHOULD- be recoverable hp.
You can't balance something by base values when it can be changed so radically with items, especially when any item type could have the same stats. You could in theory get +3 Magical Healing on 10 slots for a cheeky 240hp heal, I do hope there is some kind of cap but I haven't found it yet.
ah, yeah, Power of Sacrifice should be recoverable
Yeah it's the most garbage tier spell he has IMO. You can maybe use it in pve but it's range is garbo so if you cast it on an enemy they're probably in range to use that +15 str to kill you now.
true, base doesn't matter all the much when gear can provide more than the base itself
I think it should be "when curse of sacrifice is on a target, you gain +15 strength" I think that would make more sense for the warlock as a "greedy" type character
I cast curse of sacrifice on my barb and watch him whack people
So high risk because of it's shorter range but higher reward because you gain the strength if you cast it on an opponent
it is useful to heal faster with torture mastery, assuming you don't have multiple targets to curse of pain
Wait I thought torture mastery only applied to CoP? At least that's what the perk says right?
Yes, not sure how PoS helps CoP
I'm second guessing myself if it works on its own, but I know for a fact that you heal twice as much if you hit something with both curse of pain and power of sacrifice
Gotcha. I'll have to try that
peiple just dont know how to play it
I also know that if you curse of pain something and then hit it with hellfire while it is cursed the hellfire ticks will heal you
Yeah I did know that one which is neat
BAN TEAMING IN SOLO run its so unplayable
But yeah in game it says "Curse of Pain inflicted upon enemies restores 1 health to the caster with each instance of damage dealt" so perhaps the curse of sacrifice when a curse of pain is on someone counts as another "instance of damage"?
That is what I assumed was happening too but I swear they don't need to be cursed, let me test it real quick
Or the tooltip is just incomplete, which is entirely possible
oops, I don't have spellcasting equiped lol, will take me a minute
Lmao godspeed
add more wizard spells and "lightning mastery", "light mastery" and "frost mastery" perks.
why does bard have more songs then wizard does spells (because it was originally paid for)
okay
so Power of Sacrifice does heal you on its own, confirmed
but also after I did my test I made a suicide pact with a random fighter and we stood on a floor spike together
Interesting, I wonder if that's a bug or an outdated tooltip
Hrm. I guess it's probably supposed to be "curses restore hp" instead of just curse of pain?
Does curse of sacrifice > hellfire give you the hp ticks from hellfire I wonder
hellfire will heal you if it hits someone suffering from curse of pain, yes
not curse of pain, but curse of sacrifice
oh! sorry, you combined the names, Curse of Pain and Power of Sacrifice
let me go test PoS and Hellfire
Since we know curse of pain does apply that, I'm just wondering if it's "all curses" apply that effect to make hellfire recover hp. Ahhhh my bad! I need my coffee lmao.
But yes does the sacrifice dot make hellfire recover hp is what I was going for so we got there eventually
it does! interesting, you might be onto something
Okay sweet, so it's most likely an incorrect tooltip. Thanks for all the testing btw!
ofc ofc, just don't ask me to test wizard, that's the class I don't have lol
Ha no worries, I have played plenty of wiz so I've got that under my belt already.
Give Warlock and Wizard a starting melee weapon.
I do think warlock should start with crystal sword. I think it fits the motif way better for sure. Wizard it'd be weird to change the staff now. I know it sucks but I'm so used to starting with it lol. I think they could just buff it's stats/animation a bit and it'd be fine
Imo they could fix DR stacking, by making DR give headshot reduction and projectile reduction at higher amounts, and less % damage reduction once you get to a certain breakpoint. thoughts?
Correct precisely.
Correct, din has 50% scaling
I mean I feel like they could change the curve to just have diminishing returns after a point. Changing the headshot reduction doesn't really make sense, the whole point is that too much armor makes some classes unable to kill an armored up class no matter -where- they hit them. (Unless you have brought specific skills or perks on your class to counter this effect of course, but then you are sacrificing one slot to try and counter someone you may not find in the dungeon)
50% from additional magic damage OR magic power bonus? That said, do you think Additional Magic Damage is affected by your magic power multiplier? I think it is not.
50% of all dmg increases
have you fought them without shoes?
magic power, addit magic, true magic.
and no, magical power is different to addit magic
@tacit dew *
I appreciate it. Maybe now I'll spend my gold a bit more wisely, lol. But then again, I should wait for the DR nerfs.
Has there been a FAQ answer to if more character slots will be added?

utility tab for stash
Nerf the ranger traps
Would be cool if you got some attributes as you lvl up a specefic class and could choose what u wanna go up in str, agi, will, ect or could choose what u wanna lvl up yourself from 0 in everything. Iknow game is not diablo but i kinda feel it the new genre diablo game LUL
Nerf dmg reduc builds on fighter.
read dev Q&A, they're working on that lol
Then a rouge could take all there knowledge and will points into strength? Sounds balanced.
Well fighter could do the same so whats the point? Also u would lose alot by only lvl up in something and have 0 agility as rogue. Would that be balanced for the rogue? Prboally not since u attack speed and mov speed is 0
rogue and barb both have too much base attribute
I think all should start from 0 and we should choose for ourself but im not any developer i just suggest it because it reminds me of other games where you choose yourself what attributes u wanna lvl up yourself. But game is atm about gear and not (skills which u put into attributes as u lvl up) and donno how it would effect the game. It was just a suggestioo i thought might could be cool.
You could also just give people like 1 attribute per 5 lvl which makes everyone has 4 free attributes to put into their class as a main stat not to overtune things ect.
20 free attributes is way too many. 4 is much more reasonable. I do imagine this is what the "trainings" menu is going to be eventually though
Yeah that's what ive where saying but if u started with 0 in everything 20 would not be much, acutally alot lower in what u current have as base stats on all classes. But also they could just lower some of the main stats and then again 20 would be more resonable
I think my issue with that is while stuff like that in D2 style exists to try and compliment build diversity, usually before long it simply settles into "get the bare minimum of other stats you need then dump it all into the 1 stat that helps you most"
Well its been a fun couple weeks but I am stepping away from dark and darker until they fix overgeared players in normal dungeons.
Buf warlocks range
i don't want to be "intimate" with quest givers i want to be able to buy the equipment i want when i want lmao WHAT
In terms of gear I find rangers and wizards able to deal insane amounts of damage with green gear, competitively to everybody else in the game. Hard to balance
Yeah you're maybe right. Not sure, could still be cool with a few attributes to pick tho as you lvl'd up your class
Maybe i don't wanna be a killer and just interact with players in the game see what they do and such or be that speedy conzales running faster than fast but lose everything else over it in the progress, maybe i wanna be that player who turns the light off in the entire dungeon and make the game darker than dark before the circle even started to move into the map which requires other attributes than "the pvp ones" ect. There is so many ways to play this game which i also believe is what makes the game great. ❤️
Ah. Youre def in the rarity for that. That would be a good system for that but I'm not sure if IM is looking to design around that kind of emergent gameplay until at least all the core content like all classes are in
That make sense just hope to see it, anyways that was my suggestion. I can hear u likes it too 😉
we need to be able to bank arrows pls
anyone know anything about the training/tech tree that hasnt been released yet?
make spike traps stay down for an extra ~1.5 seconds after you throw a torch on it so you can actually get past it with some skill, it will make the game make more sense and feel polished
1 second would probably be fine even, just sometimes there are traps that are impossible to get by
also make extra unused spell capacity give you faster spell recharge or just extra spells
nah man. its pretty easy to get past traps. just takes practice. kinda have to jump around the half way point and its all about that reaction time'
making it stay down for another 1.5s would make it just easy and environmental traps would just be worthless
i havent seen anything but i know for a fact itll make or break the game lol
I do agree that the downtime on the floor trap could be a tiny bit longer, but not that long
either that or they should retract sooner than they do
right now bypassing a floor spike takes more time than wall spikes and more timing than axes
alternatively they could adjust the trap placements like they did with several of them already to allow one to jump over the corner of the trap to get by or in some cases they have nearby terrain that can be used to get enough height to clear them
Add in two more slots for char creation! So we can make one of everything! Please!!!
two?
I feel like there should be a limitation to non high roller maps. Like lets say you have 3 or more blue items equiped you cant play anything but high roller. I only say this because when i run across teams that are stacked out the wazzoo, purples, blues., legendary, capes, rings, ect; my chances in a fight are like .00001 percent. So all that happens is that people who tend to play many more hours will stifle the progress of those with less hours. And if its something rare to see i wouldn't be bothered, but about every 2 games there is at least 1 full squad in crypts decked out, and about every 4 games there's at least 2 or 3 squads. Whats silly is the map nor my team can offer these players anything but for them to mow us down as we dont have the gear they do.
35 agi is borderline useless compared to every other class's base attributes. bard's baseline is the most overtuned
I think rogue are shafted so hard because the bonus of them outmaneuvering people is thrown out the window with bard buffs
remove spider mummies
or allow me to jump over them in a door way, a 1 foot tall spider should not be blocking a 7 foot tall door way
rogues need a skill thast let's you jump on players heads, grab them by the ears and steer them into pve like a l4d jockey
Fighter is currently the most played class. Please review this list of changes I've put together that I think would allow Fighter to be both reigned in at high end play, as well as expanded out in mid-tier to let it capture the true "jack of all trades" feeling - not too powerful in any one area, but capable of letting the player be versatile. Barbarians will still do more damage, rangers will still be better with bows, wizards and rogues will still be better at their respective tasks.
Included are some mechanical change suggestions, such as gear availability and item rebalancing.

Share your thoughts please, let me know what you think.
bard has 20 of their point sunk into knowledge, which because they don't have spell memory to worry about, only feeds into cast time and magical interaction speed
but the base stats for cast time doesn't mean much since every class has different spells with different base cast times
so those 20 points into knowledge realistically only grant you an advantage compared to other classes when talking about magical interaction speed
or to put it another way, bard's base stats are not the problem
Make matchmaking with filters to choose desired or preferred class, level, and microphone? Should the desired class not be available, then default to a secondary class of choice and finally should that fail just default to any class that still meets microphone and level requirements. I feel a great amount of my time goes to finding new competent players to game with instead of actually enjoying the game itself. Thanks IronMace.
also! 35 agility gives rogues by far the most attack speed out of any class, paired with them having weapons with faster base attack rates, what they lack in strength's damage bonus they make up in the number of attacks they are able to make
Had some bard perk ideas:
Lucky Lymric; Hitting an enemy with your instrument has a 2.5% chance to play the selected song at crappy quality if the song can be played with that instrument. Scales with luck, each point is +0.05% chance.
Romantiscism; Lute spells play 1.25/1.5/1.75x faster per nearby teammate including yourself.
Polytongue; Intelligent creatures have a shorter agro range against you and nearby teammates.
Frolicking; Jumping increases your movement speed by 2.5% for 5 seconds; can stack 4 times.
i have to quit the game completely due to crashing almost every round. From a PC that runs every gane and dnd itseelf with over 100fps i do not understand how this works especially since iam not the only one with this problem. I lost over 4 Cape, Epic Gears due to crashing
we really need an auctionhouse man this trading is taking way too long
You might need to put an fps cap on, it's possible that's your problem
I disagree, I think it would make the item economy too liquid and just ruin progression and goals entirely.
item economy is already cheap as hell ^^ an auctionhouse (tarkov style) would just relieve the sellers and buyers from not needed time spent in the traders
AH would be really bad for the game, its been discussed to death but the main points are it will make playing the AH the best way to gain money, and will make all your drops seem worse because you'll be able to compare them with the best drops of 400k people or however many are playing the game. You would see a list of basically every item the game can generate, anything you find will pale in comparison.
what benefit do they have from not adding an auctionhouse type system ?
so you think players should be forced to sit around buying and selling for hours for a good kit to play the game at high stakes, because "they might compare their gear to others" otherwise?
No ones forced to do that and most people dont. If your stuff doesnt sell lower the price or vendor it
if i want good stuff i need to make money to make money i need to sell stuff selling stuff to vendors is like selling 500 games to gamestop for like 2$
if your stuff doesnt sell its not worth as much as you think
and you can see the trader zones r full of people constantly because a good portion of players are obviously using them (thats why they are there) so why not make it more convenient for everyone ?
no it does, but sometimes it takes 10-15 mins to sell something for what its actually worth to the right buyer, so to be able to put it up for that price and not have to actively sit there would be good for everyone involved
Abovementioned reasons, it ruins the game, thats why Diablo 3 had to pull their auction house to try salvage the game
everyone would be able to filter for their needed stats and buy for the prices the market decides and not the prices that happen because people cant be asked to wait and quicksell
Lucky Lymric is problematic with many of the songs, both from a balance perspective and a mechanical one. Din of Darkness actually hits both of those snags, its a channelled song but also the attack of the drum is to yeet it at the enemy so there are multiple points of how that would work. As for balance, being able to instantly proc some of the songs would be insane, and it being chance based with such a low rate it means bards would have completely random spikes in power. Overall I'm not sure this idea is even workable with what songs bard has.
Romanticism is an interesting idea, but that is an insane speed multiplier. I definitely think the lute could use some love but those numbers are too high.
Polytongue is...really bad. This effect is largely useless when you are not solo and is still not fantastic while alone. On top of that, what counts as an "intelligent" creature? Most of the mobs in the game are either undead or beasts. I guess this would be effective in the goblin caves but I feel like the design is flawed
Frolicking might as well be a permanent speed boost which bard already has so much of. There is no need to make bard any faster, especially given how easy it would be to keep this up
Having full access to what you want specifically once you have the gold amount instead of it just being a chance of it makes it so there is no aspirational content and it makes it harder for the devs to make aspirational content without making it also pumping gold into the game in addition to it's drops which can cause economic problems in the game but becomes required which will then require gold sinks (which the game already needs) so they can pump more gold into the game. It causes the issue of having to segment content into "what is good to do" and causes dead content just due to the auction house existing. Path of Exile can have aspirational content because you cant always get what you want when trading. Tarkov's aspirational content like the lighthouse is completely based around pumping currency into the game because of theAuction house. An auction house affects what the rewards from content CAN be. you have yet to tell me why it would ruin the game mate, the only thing you said is because "people wouild compare their gear to whats on the AH and their own found stuff would pale in comparison" which if thats true then they can do that right now in any youtube video they find or in the auctionhouse by looking at high priced purples that people are forced to sit and sell for 30 mins
Auction house flipping will be the most efficient and completely safe way to get money, and it'll be hyper fast and easily botted. The comparison ruins the fun of looting, everything you find will be a specific amount of gold rather than an uncertain one, to be traded in for precisely what you want at all time. That kind of instant gratification ruins the looting
yes and tarkovs econimical system works and people still do their quests etc. this game is legit a looter shooter DnD style so why do you think so many people are asking for an AH system? because its what they know and its what makes PVP good
you can control botting easily with a few mechanics so i dont see that being an issue if handled correctly
Lucky Lymric is for sure abit of a scary one, It just seemed like a fun idea. Romantiscism might be abit too much on the numbers but looking at the songs it has I almost feel like it's not a problem that said it does kind of color the balance of the instrument for the future. Polytongue would work on Goblins, Centaurs and Demon Berserkers. I see your point on Frolicking, I just love the idea of prancing around as a bard.
even if you just enable players to have a chat or private trading possibilities then people could set up something ot sell and get trading requests "outside" of the game (you dont have to be activly there) that would also work and is not bottable
I would prefer the Path of Exile economy over the Tarkov economy (which is an auction houseless economy). It's significantly more stable and allows for much more interesting trading.
i think its less about how stable the economy is, but rather about how convinient for the type of game that it is. this is in the end like i said a classic looter shooter which is PVP based
Where is the #warlock channel?
Also PoE has an active player base of like 15k(when they just released new content) whilst Tarkov pulls 4x that without doing anything special to it. there is reasons for this mate
I think thats just because FPS is more popular in general than ARPG's especially very complex ones like poe
I guess that's fair, forgot about the demon creatures, in that case I think Polytongue could be good if it applied it to you and your nearby teammates, much like Jokester
I just dont think forcing people that play this game for HR or Bossruns etc. to sit and wait atleast like an hour to buy an entire kit when they got the money for it makes any sense. On the long run this will absolutely demolish the player base. Also casual players wont sit there for hours to trade if they are looking for a not 24/7 gaming session
i reckon the devs should be more concerned about keeping players and getting new ones then on how "stable" the economy is...
Wow it seems like a game with more complex stats is for a niche audience, who would've guessed? Ironmace has already said before they don't intend to try to make the game for a wide audience and more for what they enjoy and think is good ideas.
I could see your point on that, yeah if it were for teammates too that'd be nice.
since neither you or me are working for ironmace isnt it great that both our opinions can matter ? 🙂 in the end its a company that is trying to make money tho mate and ive seen so many people complain about the trading that i reckon they are going to have to find a solution
I really hope they don't make it an AH and makes it something more cumbersome than an AH since being completely able to access everything easily is extremely bad for the health of actually playing.
Sure they'll ultimately do what they feel is best. I hope they just do some improvement to filters etc though and maybe add a bit of gear to the vendors so people can quickly grab a reasonable set at all times. There are serious downsides to an AH you might not see or agree with, but there's a reason they didn't make an AH so far.
Just a small suggestion, but 3 emotes of rock, paper, scissors
Like i said i dont think a full on AH has to be thr solution. I can imagine a System, where the seller can put up something for a price and the buyers who see this offer can send him a trade request similar to how Steam Trading works. The buyer once he has time to can see that request and choose to take or leave it for example. That wouldnt make everything accessable all the time and still make it alot more convenient! 🙂
Just got killed by a barbarian as Warlock after I parried him twice without taking damage and headshot him 4 times in a row, he proceeded to 1 shot me and when I checked his gear he was full grey gear, and had 20 hp left. GG WP
Skill issue
Like I guess I wasn't at optimal hitting range for max longsword damage but what the fuck man
better luck next time man, shit happens.
Another thing that kinda Bugs me is, that you cant test your damage outside of loading into a round... a practice area where you have a target dummy, for example, would be awesome to Figure out your damage before going into a game.
And i think HR games are just way too quick.. circle closes in an instant it feels like
anyone else think that a bard stacking din of darkness dmg is broken?
yes
how about a sell all button that sells all stuff to the collector instead of clicking on items idividually?
i do have a 70fps cap
This
They should make a flintlock gunslinger class more damage but longer to reload
No they just need to fix so you can hold shift and left click instead of having to press shift at the same time as your mouse click
Druid is coming.
ah, understandable
hadn't considered preemptively adding a slot for druid
I mean. I normally main fighter. But don’t have a slot cause I wanna max the other classes first.
Give me a self-destruct button that destroys all of my gear if I'm above 50% health, but kills me too.
So when I see someone 2 tiers of gear higher and 8 effects running me down, I can make sure they don't get anything for bullying my grey-weapon struglebuss ass.
why do mobs still know where you are after going stealth. and why the frick do they stop and stare at you instead of leaving and goin back to otheir patrol location
gotta just bne a bug right? no way thats intended
Suggestion: Add the ability to transfer items and gold between characters. The current system allows it with a 3rd party and is unnecessarily cumbersome. Add a fee for the transfers to act as a gold sink.
okay, so I think I can explain this one
so first off, I'm pretty sure the mobs do in fact still "see" you but are programmed to no longer attempt to path to you or attack
after a moment, they attempt to go into their idle state, but because you are still in their aggro range they immediately exit their idle state
however you are invisible, so they can't path to you or start an attack
in the end they flip flop between not having a target and attempting to target you causing a strange pattern of them jittering a little bit and sometimes taking a single step
hopefully it gets fixed or at least we get a solid answer on if thats intentional. i cant imagine it is. ty for the reply
ofc ofc
as a side note, if you get to a position where their pathfinding can't even figure out where you are, they will actually enter their idle state, which interestingly mummies seem to just stand still not doing anything as apposed to walking around like skeletons and zombies
Add daily missions
pretty sure that might be covered when they add NPC quests
Maybe make it so that buying a race unlocks it for both genders?
no thanks, I don't want women associated with my account
A good way to nerf double jump and jumping in combat in general would making you enter a ''vulnerable state'' while jumping, increasing the damage done to you by a percentage while you remain in the air
Funny thing is that I suggested that here to overwhelming disapproval.
It would have to include inventories so people don't cheese it by bringing in their friend's gear.
Make and actually auction house with a buy now option
I'm sure its been suggested but thoughts on a 2x2 or 3x3 stash item/safe you can buy or craft that can hold 1,00 coins or something with a limit of only being able to own one
If they did this then fighter's will be able to use them too
Suggestion: Please add nipples to ork skin 🙂
WHY DOES MAGES DROP DRUMS THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE
guys clerics are way too overpowered
Game needs a wipe. Don’t need gear based match making. Just make greens more easily found. Make it so a team with starter gear has a possibility of looting enough gear to put up a fight with a geared team. Why are grays and whites dropping from pick lockable chests and wraiths. Doesn’t hurt anyone to make mid tier gear with mods more frequent. I shouldnt extract 3 times with the same gray ass recurve bow or arming sword and one pair of green boots with +1 move speed while killing wraiths and skeletal champions.
How do you submit a suggestion?
YOU TYPE LIKE THIS NERF CLERICS LIKE FUKING 6 PLAYTESTS EASISEST CLASS ALL GAME NERF CLERIC SOT TEH GORUND
No no, I thought of a way to improve the trading system
CAN THE MERCHANTS JUST SELL ALL ITEMS AT GREY LEVEL WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO FILL HALF MY INVENTORY WITH GREY SPELLBOOKS AND GREY LONGSWORDS SO THAT I DOn"T HAVE TO PLAY WITH MAGIC STAFF, OR EQUIVALENT FOR ALL OTHER CLASSES.
ffs please put a gear score on stuff based on rarity, create multiple dungeon with gear score restrictions, like if someone is having 100 gear score he can't go in lower gear score dungeons. I've played like 50 games in the past few days, in like half of those i met a full geared team with 70% physical reduction damage, full dps so we are being one shot by any hit. there is literally no fun to play against FULL GEARED team while you have low sutff. Everybody can't spend 12 hours per day to play and farm the game. Do something about it or your game is gonna die. The people who are full geared don't want to go high roller gg
It's because high roller doesn't have enough exit portals so going in your chances are literally 1/x amount of teams since everyone else is full gear and same skill level. If it was more consistent to escape from high roller alive, maybe 2 or 3 teams could make it out per raid people would go back to it.
Need a duo's queue
the high roller is not the problem, if you are full geared , and you can wipe low lobbys , why woulndt you ? i mean its so easy to wipe low geared people and collect everything they have over and over
Rogue's and wizards should have a perk that when you go invis you drop a slippery banana peel down and if someone runs into they fall on their face
rework melt (wizard perk that reduces physical armor by 10% when you burn someone) into every time someone takes burn damage (the dot) they lose % mag armor that stacks
Suggestion: Add the ability to transfer items and gold between characters. The current system allows it with a 3rd party and is unnecessarily cumbersome. Add a fee for the transfers to act as a gold sink.
The issue is that the return for them going to high roller is not worth it. You're on average losing gold in high roller dungeons, so it's almost never worth it to go there, they do make a profit in low roller but it's almost nothing, I'd bet each player on the team tops gets 150-200 gold a raid but it's better than going down gold over and over again since their chances of surviving high roller is almost none. I want to go to high roller over and over again but I can't because it's so unlikely that me and my team survive.
Genuinely horrid idea. If anything we should just separate players who are Level 14 and below from Level 15 and higher when possible and when not still merge.
matching based on gear would be a little silly yeah but i like your levels separation idea
highroller is only worth it to find purples and leggies, so it's basically a waste of money if you dont go into HR hell
Lemme make 1 of each class, no reason can't have one of each class. Right now I have to constantly delete and remake to play bard or warlock
but i think if u go into HR hell it's worth it as long as u can survive hell most of the time
Yeah but there's like 3 - 6 down portals tops
i feel like that's enough tbh, especially with how many ppl dont take them
i think a few months into this game when ppl figure out HR hell is the strat, it'll get worse but rn people dont take them as much
im still a proponent of HR ante being lowered for good though
especially if they change how gear scales, it'd be good for the health of the game imo
Can someone please explain to me how the suggestion system works? I would like to submit a suggestion the proper way
and eitherway most teams aren't making it out
it seems they removed the ability to submit them a few months ago
I think that's intended to limit the pve cheese you can do with stealth, but as long as you're stealth anything else will aggro the mob so you can use it to spring enemies on chasing players.
buff wizards movespeed buff from invis to 8% from 5% to counterbalance the time reduction
or give it walk through npcs/players
Buckler needs to be sold in armorer more frequently;;
im not even sure why they reduced the time
7s to 5s is a big deal and its not like it was that oppressive
I'm assuming someone has brought up the idea of a dungeon mode that requires you to go in empty handed and build up in dungeon. This would alleviate some of the issues with always running into geared players and maintain the best parts of early game combat. So I'm curious, what are/were the points against it?
Back in the last playtest it has been ~2.5 seconds invis.
Alot of balance stuff, such as invis time or ranger traps not being able to endlessroot you into this watching down minigame mechanic that they got rid of initially, aparently got reverted to their initial design concept.
I could see them wanting to rework stuff a bit, so maybe you bring just haste or invis instead of invis being a required spell, but the other spells still aren't really good enough to justify bringing imo. I feel like the spellbook could use another slot, so that you can actually bring more utility like the lightball, or ignite for teams even if you aren't using it for yourself.
Geared players will kill this game, I am done till they fix this. This is not a fun or challenging, its unfair and abusive.
So what are your feelings towards the idea of a dungeon the requires going in empty handed? Can you think of any potential downfalls to it?
in order for you to actually build up a set of gear it would either have to last much longer than the normal dungeon or have much more plentiful gear than the normal dungeon, one is a server/logistics issue while the other is a game balance issue i.e. nobody would go into the normal dungeon anymore if the loot in your "build up" dungeon was better
it also would require better balance of default kits, right now certain default kits are horrible while others are pretty good
I could see an event dungeon where you get paid for kills or timing or something and can't take loot out or in, but the drops are way better, but I imagine something like that would be far in the future
unless u mean actually butt+fists naked which would still unfairly favor barbarians
Devs, the casting accuracy needs to be loosened. On a warlock, especially geared, the 'selfcast' when missed "Power of Sacrifice" is stupid enough that the spell isn't even worth using. When geared, it will tick for 50-60. That's 2/3rds my health because it auto self-casts when it misses. This is the same thing for clerics, their buffs will self cast when you're .00001 millimeters above your teams head or shoulder.
Maybe make an invisible 'aura' of the player that gives you something to target the spell to, other than the physical body. Maybe an invisible bubble identical to the protection bubble. Make it always there for every player, and player spells follow the rules of targeting it, while mob spells stay with physical.
Either way. The 'penalty' for barely being off is too punishing for warlocks. And it's disheartening for clerics.
that could be interesting but i do think bringing loot out and "having" it as a reward for success is a pretty big draw of the whole genre
That is an unfortunately good point. I feel there has to be a work around for that because having a dungeon in that style would be a very good time. And no, I wasn't referring to butt naked.
i'd love if there was a workaround to that, especially if it meant there was a mode where you could go into the dungeon and be there for like 30+ minutes
almost sort of like short term medieval dayZ, that would be absolutely sick to have a mode like that
maybe if they make a mode where you don't bring stuff in or out they could call the map 7 nights or something in reference to fortnight
I have just heard many people talk about how combat early game is much more fun than late game atm because of DR and other factors. If there were a way to get that experience still in late game that would be big.
Solo delving. Monster dens. You could achieve this by having the server generate a list of the pre-spawned loot and send that to the player client, then the player PC is hosting and running the instance of the dungeon, and will send out an inventory report and maybe 'unique' hash's for the gear dropped.
Note, all of this introduces a risk of making hacking easier.
the difference between starter kits and a 50 gold kit is huge, especially on fighter (and maybe cleric?) though it does feel like on other classes going in with that doesn't really make it way easier, but feels required.
mainly talking about wizard here. x.x and rogue cus the the starter daggers are garbo
I feel like Solo dungeons can only exist if there is a form of ticket system, so an idea is that in normal dungeons maybe there is a way from some content to get a Key which can be used as payment to do the Solo dungeon and gives you 1 delve of the dungeon. Could also make the keys untradable and be destroyed upon being killed if it's on your person and unable to be stored in storages except your stash (Basically a soulbound item that is lost on death) as to prevent them from being the main content people end up doing.
It'd be reward only content.
yeah this has me worried about the state of the game, right now DR is the biggest problem but because everyone plays fighter there's only so many people who will actually admit how broken DR is. the cap shouldn't be any higher than 65% IMO but with fighter abusers lobbying for no nerfs im worried it'll straight up kill the game
They already intend to do something about Damage Reduction once this leaderboard is finished.
there are some issues raised beyond hacking for being able to get loot solo that can be used in multiplayer
yeah i know, what im worried about is that they do something small and conservative and think that that's enough, like lowering the cap to 85 and keeping the formula the same. it needs to be DRASTICALLY changed and i worry they're too afraid of fighter-main backlash to do that
Suggestion: Limit 3 people parties to one Support class, bard cleric fighter/barb seems really busted and hard to counter
this is a bandaid fix to the issue which namely is that fighter and bard are way overtuned and front-loaded, IMO
Disagree you should be able to play as all clerics if you want.
I guess it is a bandaid fix to a bigger issue. Just have been seeing a ton of that comp absolutely destroy lobbies.
I think the cave troll should have a different grunt for each attack as a audio que for how to dodge
they need to make armor rating start giving some projectile reduction and headshot reduction and barely any mitigation at a certain point. That would be the most fun way to handle it. Maybe give crossbows a good amount of innate armor/Projectile defense penetration so that rangers still aren't gimped
https://darkanddarker.featureupvote.com/suggestions/473428/reduce-instrument-bloat
reminder that the lyre doesn't even have an attack. We don't need two stringed instruments and having only 3 instruments makes them fit nicely on one side of the toolbelt :)
this was back in march and all they've done since then is lower the cap from 92 to 90! they seriously are too afraid to upset fighter players
they changed it recently as well with the -12 change but that doesn't fix the issue at all
all it effectively did was buff all forms of physical damage by 12% and further separate the high-pdr from the low
i saw someone say earlier that piercing weapons should have some form of significant innate armor pen and i think that's a GREAT idea
It should really be 75%; 65% I would say is too low as 75% although still extremely impressive it would be much harder to achieve with the proposed scaling but also is like now still sunderable via magic damage and true damage.
yeah i think 75% would be enough so long as it's also combined with some other incremental nerfs to fighter, like sprint
I mean, 75% quadruples your effective health so I'd say that's plenty of tank to work with
agreed it only being 75% with no other changes honestly still feels like it might be too good still
i think 65% would be enough if they kept the easy scaling, 75% would be enough if they took the harder scaling
I personally like 75% since its a very easy multiplier when thinking about effective health
I'm not totally against it, but this did cause a lot of trouble in The Cycle: Frontier.
Cheaters were the real issue for that game but this defintiely mattered. It lead to a lot more dead servers very fast.
Yeah I was think 75% with the scaling changes, 65% I'd agree without
HIT THE SKILL CHECK WHILE STUCK IN A RANGER TRAP AND WAS STILL STUCK PLEASE FIX THIS CRAP
Implement an item level - if you're rolling normal goblin caves in full cobalt/cloak/accessory gear you should be fighting people of equal quality
i dont think that's such a good idea
did you hit it in the red or in the white?
horrible idea
-Death cap damage. report post death
they really gotta fix this invis bullspit. 0 reason a mob should still be full aggro to someone who goes invis
the game is inspired by dnd and there are creatures with truesight meaning they can see invis.
I don't think truesight is what's going on ngl
while it is based on DnD they have never said any mobs have truesight. also trusight would imply they are still attacking. they are just aggro'd
Imagine if rogue had a passive that made it so he can see in the dark
haha ye or warlock invocation devil's sight
it makes 0 sense from any standpoint. mobs shouldnt look at you while your invis. especially archers
why especially archers?
if an archer doesnt move from one spot of looking you can almost garuntee theres someone invis right there
you are accidentally gunna undo your point if you keep talking
its a huge tell and frankly very bad. mobs from other rooms lingering in the wrong tileset is an instant tell
and if mobs dont leave after invis they just stare then you are given away
let me ask you this
if you pull mobs from one room into another room and invis, why should they walk back to their starting position?
I do think there's a weird bug where when you go invis the mob pathing breaks and they start lurching around slowly.
its the way every other games stealth has ever worked
okay? but why should it work that way?
if the mob ai was good they would just start attacking random spots
true!!
mob ai in this game is so simplistic its like probably 3 lines of code lmfao
if player than move to
if in range than attack
Please nerf the figher/cleric/bard combo. Why haven't we nerfed this. 7 headshots with bows and 4 headshots with a spear and they still don't die
how do you think they should nerf them? lots of people have thrown their hat into this specific pile
Mob ai is made by one person bro give them a break 😭
stacking buffs should get a nerf. You shouldn't be able to 2 different types of armor/MR buffs at once. Or if you do, it should be lessened. Houndskull helmet needs to change from 20% projectile reduction to 10%
Except the thing is that the Bard shield and the Clerics shield are not the same shield type
- i didn't say anything that critical
- its just a game and i can have any opinion i want and it doesn't mean i dont admire the devs.
- ask yourself why you feel the need to be like this
Bard adds a flat physical armor and magical armor bonus, and cleric gives a damage shield that blocks all damage to a certain amount. That's like sayign that I shouldn't be able to wear plate armor because the bard gave me armor
They should overwrite one another. That is the only way to nerf this. When I say 7 headshots with a blue longbow and 3 headshots with a purple spear, it needs a nerf.
“Ask yourself why you feel the need to be like this” XD
it's not that deep bro
