is there damage fall off over range for bows or thrown weapons
Just like in real D&D fashion 😄
No damage fall off
In real dnd they do get the sculpt spell ability as an evocation wizard to keep friendly fire to a minimum
So Action speed is literally just Attack speed?
Maybe that will appear in skill trees
i know this has probably been asked but i couldnt find it anywhere, what does nimble hands actually do for rangers
To be fair, everyone is a murder hobo trying to kill 'bunnies' and so the Wiz wants the fireball kill, the fighter wants the fighter kill etc... Everyone is just too murder hobo to work as a team and hold off 😄
And bandage speed, drinking potion speed, campfiresetup. Anything that you 'do' with your hands is Action Speed
Nice, ty
Do deeper dungeons have a chance to drop gold keys or is that just a drop from gold door/room map?
Gold keys are supposed to just be from the one captain below the tower, but there were a few locations where they popped up (Bugs)
Skeleton key is supposed to be in one spot on the ground in one of the B3 maps
Any plans for VOIP even if it's just for your team
are there plans for more classes and if so which ones
Officially the only confirmed class will be the upcoming Bard. We don't have any information on it at the moment. There was a sneak peek of other upcoming classes that are hinted to be the following (In no particular order) Artificer, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock
Mostly magical classes
I could see Sorc/paladin could be easy to implement with the current game
All the physical ones except monk/pld are in game
I don't think artificer makes sense for the aesthetic of the game
However, they did mention they want to do multiclassing, or try to see if it would fit in anyway
that would be cool
This sounds like massive balance issues just like real dnd
It also sounds really interesting
even deeper specialization over just the trees
I personally was thinking the A was for Assassin instead of Artificer, because the Rogue is both rogue and assassin currently and I feel splitting the two would REALLY help
Alchemist/Arcanist are similar. I think the Arcanist would be more about lobbing potions/fire bombs, smoke/poison bombs etc
They already have Explosive Bottles and Lanterns
Would love a class that focused more on that kind of stuff
Grenadier class 😄
But most people think Arcanist and think guns. I doubt guns would be a thing
20 second cd on quick cast iirc.
Double Hoduken ftw 😄
Artificer is a tough class to implement
could be maybe just a melee class with alot self buffing
like taking more into self customization magic side
they need to add races first
I don’t suppose there’s been any news of races right
Not sure if races would fit. Last thing we need is halflings acting likee Oddjob from Golden eye
They can have multiple dungeon in different biomes or Planes lol. No limits. Flying island dungeon where traps are a hole off the island lol.
i think races might be taking it too in depth especially with the skill tree and then adding more classes
turn into ESO real fast lol
No making it closer to D&D which is a good thing👍
If it’s only cosmetic I don’t see why it’s an issue
It's important for balance, otherwise you get that same trash you see in shooters where teammates put rockets and grenades on friendlies close to enemies with no consequences.
it probably wouldnt be cosmetic only
you can add classes eternally to this kind of game, monk, amazon, necromancer , shapeshifter etc seems cool to think about it, lot of potential
i mean if it is cosmetic no issues
I think races are already confirmed? I thought I saw something about races in the pre-match tips.
no idea lol
All good ideas, discussions and feedback. Please try to keep chatter to a minimum here to help keep it clean for people to ask questions 🙂
I know, I'm a terrible example and tangent all the time 😄
I want to be a dirty little goblin.
Does the Barbs speed boost stop poison?
Just a filthy little gobbo
It doesn't show unless it was on the 'skill' page
Stash page doesn't calculate Movespeed correctly
In game it works fine as well
Agi is pretty much 1 for 1 for movespeed
Are there any plans for subclasses at all?
Not at this time
Or at least not now. The devs mentioned that they had at least 10 years worth of 'ideas' to put in, but what does/doesn't make the cut 🤷
Does helmet armor give more defense against headshots or is damage reduction a function of collective armor value?
Do traps apply locational damage?
Yes
Hmm, that's unfortunate. Makes running naked barb more appealing though considering helmet has no benefit over other armor.
What piece has best armor to movespeed reduction "value"
Wall spikes can hit your head if you are crouching wrong, and pits are always limbs
Oooh I have this one sec
Boots are the best, because ALL boots GIVE + move speed. Gloves are the next best because all NON plate gloves have NO movespeed penalty. But the best armor for movespeed penalty on average is....
Heavy Gauntlet, Doublet, Mystic Vestments, Loose Trousers
Hmm gotcha. So probably best build movespeed-wise for barb is boots, heavy gauntlet, loose trousers and ditch the helmet + chestpiece so you can take advantage of the barb perk. Good to know 👍
Also, if you are doing a movespeed barb, I would recommend axe spec and single horseman axe
No dual axes yet
I just saw a Barb with Dual axes tho 🤔
Barb is just about peeling heads like a melon
Hatchet is secondary axe
Dual axes would probably incur double the movespeed penalty though, so not sure it'd be worth
oh ye
Oh? I’ve never seen one in dungeon
Id PropertyTypeId MinValue MaxValue Move Speed Classes
Hatchet_0001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 14 17 -25 B F
Hatchet_1001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 19 22 -25 B F
Hatchet_2001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 23 25 -25 B F
Hatchet_3001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 26 28 -25 B F
Hatchet_4001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 29 31 -25 B F
Hatchet_5001 PhysicalWeaponDamage 32 34 -25 B F
I’ve seen it in the woodsman shop but never actually investigated it
Is it mechanically legal to know so much about the game @whole sluice ?!?!?
Well he’s the primary person answering questions
Personally I love building communities. And I STRONGLY feel that educating and giving information and access to gamers makes for a better community in several ways. The more educated and informed people are, the better they are likely to play. This results in games that are closer in skill than lobby clearing bambis. This in return makes more people praise the game. Which makes it more popular. Which makes the community grow. Which means more fresh eyes/ideas come in and so forth
Providing that kind of information and such is what I love doing
I like breaking down mechanics, and I'm a spreadsheet whore
Is there a wiki xD ?
Not yet
I'm working with some people to try and get one up
Worse case I will make a large Google Slide/PDF with all the info sorted out
Does having a large shield like a parvise on one's back block blows from behind even when not wielding it or does blocking only work when actively equipped?
Nope
Only in front when you are wielding it
You can also deploy a pavise to block doors
Or barricade someone in a cell and watch them choke in the swarm 😄
Deploy?
Yeah, you can stick them in the ground like a barricade
Does that unequip the item or?
Can barb smash break them like doors?
I want to say yes, but we didn't test with fireballs, smash and/or damage in general
how is this game going to be? are there going to be the same weapons as now, or will there be like 10+ more added?
They want to add a lot more weapons
We're trying to convince them to find a way to put in flails and whips, but REALLY hard to do that in a First Person type game
all i know is , if necromancer gets added i will be scared for my life every game
I want lich to raise fallen adventurers who died in the floor(s) above instead of the generic skeletons he has now 😄
imagine necromancers could deny any possible enemy respawns and turn them into idk zombies or skeletons
Yeah, prally not a mechanic that would be fun. They are pretty good about ensuring you can't pilfer other people's souls for precisely that reason
They changed it so you can't even drop enemy souls on the ground any more. Which to be fair, is a solid addition because I use to be cheeky and hide soulds under a metric crap ton of useless armor and gear
but what if teammate took soul, can still get revived, but necromancer can cast spell on dead body to make it rise, and once u kill it u can loot for gear back
Why not cast it from a PvE entity. There are plenty enough, although with how crowded rooms and halls are, not sure if having summons would fit either
in 20 hours i have seen maybe 2 revives 😄
true , but thats why i would be afraid of necromancer
if they could summon zombies , skeletons , mummys it would be insanely strong
nd maybe necromancers get like a passive ability , 1/4 undead mobs will ignore you
Sounds like good place for #feedback-hidden-archive
will there be a mechanic where u can light arrows on fire?
Haven't heard anything like that
skeletons sometimes fire arrow thats on fire
I swear the fire arrows from skeletons is just to block your vision after being it.
The texture and fire/burn dmg already exists
Shooting arrows through torches should ignite the arrow applying fire damage on tick, similar to zelda fire arrows imo
1 more reason to loot those legendaries off their cold bodies 😄 You don't want legendary armed undead
Maybe, easier to just program default undead version of all the starting gear classes
Would love to se an undead version of the Barb coming after me with his 2hander 😄
True it was just a random funny thought. Standard gear is easier to implement
Although, being charged by a fighter wearing Godly Plate of the Whale with a Grandfather Sword 😄
That could be scarier than the lich itself
I still think the idea of a player controlled monster is a great idea
Do the 4 different wizard weapons have different cast time or spell damaged related buffs/debuffs?
The differences between the various magical casting items and weapons are this: They differ in movement speed penalties, utility, and casting animations (Not speed). Each have specific uses. For instance, the crystal sword is great if you want to be a battle mage and cast spells while also bonking people on the head. The staff is terrible for halls because it has wide casting animations, but also lets you bonk slightly stronger than sword. And some don't let you bonk but only cast spells.
sorry the research/F doesn't find anything and i'm lazy and don't want to go back all the way the Q&A part, is there any thoughts about having a button only for stabbing in melee or to control a tiny bit the hit-angle of your hit? thanks in advance :p
That could be interesting as a separate gamemode and maybe after a bunch of levels and quests
Weapon combos are set and unlikely to change.
Different casting animations mostly
ok thank you !
The sword tends to wall bounce if you aim spells at walls
I see, I never saw a higher tier staff, they have better melee than the swords do?
But then again it gives you the ability to bonk people
They have higher base phys, crystal swords are better for damage but have a shorter range
Staffs also 'might' get a parry since it's 2 handed
For a wizard no as willpower scales the magic damage on the crystal sword
Crystal sword is 2handed right?
No, it's one handed
There is just no 'secondary' weapon/item in the game for them atm
Whether that changes or not 🤷
Can u double check that I remember the crystal sword being 2h
Ohhhhhh that's a cool piece of info
Is there higher tier orbs/books?
yes
crystal sword shows up as a 2h weapon on the character sheet from what i remember
Purple and higher get modifiers
Yea as I remember it’s 2h
I hope it gets a parry
It has a spell casting parry right now
But it's a bug
And not intended
I would like a parry because everytime I played wizard a rogue would walk up and 3 tap me lol
I’d like if it had a bubble shield or a barrier based on spell power
Btw did anyone try the auto-shield perk you get when you take dmg on wizard? It seems pretty useless considering the alternatives
I used that and still got dicked by rogue
It’s ok from my experience
What about aggressive pvp
It tends to be good when trying to close range MM in pvp
No, you want as much damage, preventing a little damage won't win as many fights as taking people out
As tanky classes will still get a hit in on you
I feel like dmg/ cooldown serves a better purpose
But, this is more of a discussion than a mechanic question and can be discussed further in #feedback-hidden-archive 🙂
Not if you haste - slow
Welp, I'm out. Gonna watch some movies with the fam, take care Darklings
So you know how you can shield with a bardiche right, how well does it perform? Since I played barb I used it quite a bit but never really shield because I would just be attacking and it didn't look very safe
Is the shielded part just tied to the weapons structure so you have to be a lot more precise on blocking rather than an actual shield because it covers more area?
It requires precise aiming to block, but honestly you're just better off attacking in almost every situation other then maybe PvE.
Shielding is very difficult and requires extreme precision to execute properly
And yes, you do have to get the haft of the weapon to intercept the attacking hitbox before it hits any part of your flesh.
Does it provide a knockback effect to the attacker? So you can counter attack?
No
I didn't test how it receives the stagger that got implemented in this playtest.
I know the longsword can riposte if you right click after parrying an attack
But if it is like shields, it could actually mean you're the one staggered if it's from a large attack.
Ic ic
I’ve no clue what devs are thinking with the blocking in this game no offense to them but it’s almost never worth it to block an attack
I suppose I would of blocked more if I was heavily armored, but with my focus on move speed, I was faster then my opponent 95% of the time, so it was safer to simply play the spacing game then try to block.
Well I wanted to get really good at blocking and doing kind of counter attacks but it seems that the skill in fights that comes from this game is more movement and spacing
Spacing is more effective and easier than attempting to block
Yeah whenever I would space an attack and miss but the attacker was in range to hit me I almost always never had enough time to put my shield up and would always just use my movement to shift my hurtbox
Also it’s usually better to jump than block aswell
Taking a foot hit rather than a chest hit reduces damage.
Still haven't jumped over a horizontal sweep yet but I can't wait till I do xD
Ducking is high risk high reward but I’ve done it before and won fights because of that alone.
Even just turning 90 degrees and presenting an arm when you know a hit is about to land can be clutch.
Yeah the problem is when they realise they keep missing and start going for horizontal attacks that don't miss often
As a barb I can't really block but I can space but if I miss space and I'm up close about to take a hit I either dodge by going down or take a horizontal hit to the legs or chest it's a 50/50
Since I can't block and I'm up close they either go for the risky horizontal head attack and I go low or they just aim for my legs/ chest and always get a hit because I can't get away or block
So that's why I was thinking maybe blocking those kinds of attacks are a good idea
did anyone use the pickpocket skill much? is it anygood?
nope, no one use that, its better of running/killing the enemy
seems like fun though if the stealth mechanic was a little different
can you use pickpocket to steal from your friends?
has there been any talk of directional melee? like click to ready your weapon and then drag to make it swing from left/top/right?
directional melee and directional blocking is my dream for this game
the shields are directional atm
yeah but blocking with all weapons would be nice imo
well all melee weapons
fuck bows
yeah for sure
I have like 2.5k hours in Warband tho so I'm definitely biased
Mount and Blade: Warband, the sequel Mount and Blade: Bannerlord, and Mordhau I know all have it
those are the three I've played
Honestly unless I have a longsword I just do the duel dance. The person with better spacing skill wins 8/10 fights
The longsword is blocking done acceptably
As long as you block then hit your riposte you win 8/10 times
Considering the skill required to block it’s good.
Skill gaps are good. Makes playing to perfect a class enjoyable but that's a whole other discussion
They plan on keeping the set weapon arcs and not have direction combat. There are other games that do that perfectly well.
That’s perfectly fine but every weapon should have an alternate attack type
Most 2hs have an alt attack but I don’t believe the maul does
20k, according to Steamcharts, but that includes menu idlers
I think every weapon has a right click, or will have one, other then 1 hand primaries (since your right click is reserved for a secondary.)
There’s a couple 2h missing attack types but I believe they are getting one eventually yes
anyone else feel like an animation overhaul for the mobs would be nice?
what i found after a while was if i turned away and pushed on the right angle
skeletons never hit me anymore
even infront of them
Or go the other way - make the hitboxes reflect the existing animations. That'd be easier to do
Yep, counter clockwise on skeletons is usually a dodge. Backwards sometimes isn't, and clockwise never is
That roughly aligns with the slash anim, if you figure there's a bit of network slop
Directional melee and all weapon blocking defeats the purpose of having roles imo
The less impactful universal things the more important roles are and seeing how it's a DnD game in a dungeon meant to be played with a team having specific jobs/roles to play are important
Rouge is squishy but has high burst dps but add in universal parry and blocking with any weapon and now rouge doesn't much risk anymore just be a better player
^This seems more like something for the Mechanic Discussion tab
Ik
Just thought I'd touch on it here since he prob wouldn't see it there for a sec but I'll drop it now
okie dokie. just makin sure lol. i had so much fun last night. played until it kicked me off
Same haha
what seems strange to me is that exit portals are not magic (talking about interacting speed) clerics would open them so slowly
I never thought about that.
Will stats such as resourcefulness (additional inventory space and item install speed) and knowledge (additional spells and spell slots) be added into the game next playtest?
those stats already do things, and there are other "buff stats" to get more spells slots. depending on what you mean resourcefullness already does "item install speed faster" it lets you interact faster at any rate unless i have short term memory loss
I hope so, I don't have any dev experience but it sounds like a tall order. Personally I'd rather play every month with some improvements/implementations than wait for them to stack and release.
as for different spells id rather see that be tied to player choices in level up/ perks / gear than stats
They are intended to be opened using magical interactional speed, but in this playtest they were using regular.
yes I know they're already implemented, however, some of the additional bonuses from those stats haven't been added yet, which made resourcefulness pretty useless.
seems like a silly oversight if you ask me, not gonna whine about it though if they change it 😛
(i mained ranger anyway so im happy)
Agreed, adding all that stuff at once would be a lot especially since they're already so many stat bonuses implemented so I couldn't imagine how just adding one thing carelessly could potentially break the game.
I forgot to ask while the playtest was going but was the Cleric resurrection spell broken? I tried it 2 or 3 times and it never worked
Are there plans for extra playable races? does anyone here know?
You had to continue to look directly at the body of the player you were reviving. If you looked away, it would waste the spell
it was not broken but it is easy to interupt your own stuff in the game
After the channel finished?
Hey guys can someone explain how rogue stealth works? sometimes I can see their outline sometimes not?
So I'm a weirdo and never played with the bow. *Did it have ammo? *I only spectated bow play and I did not see a counter, but, this could be due to the not seeing the inv.
unlimited ammo
thanks
i mean, if its friendly rogues you can see it, if its an enemy rogue my best guess is that they stealthed in the death swarm.
do rogues poison damage scale with magic damage? If so is it 1 for 1 per tick or 1 for 1 per full debuff?
Does throwing a torch on a bear trap set it off?
I believe poison is magic, and bleed is strength
Experienced ranger player confirmed that it did, but I never tried it myself
No, but it should
Actually a good idea , pog @balmy ginkgo
I reloaded a crossbow in weapon slot 2 than switched it for a crossbow in my inventory that wasn’t loaded and it became loaded instantly. Is it by design supposed to be like that?
Q&A question, what am i supposed to do now? 😦
Wait among us wilting undead
Sage I need wisdom
can a ranger get trapped by his own trap
The trap knows no master
One thing that really wigs me out is how magic missle seems to lock onto mobs and doesn't lock onto players
I've heard a few people say its locked on to them, the targeting may be buggy
I’ve watched it follow my team as I was healing them
Something I didn't see included is that when a rogue initially uses hide, It kind of poofs with the smokey outline of them that lingers for a second after they are invisible. So if they stealth just before you come around the corner you'll likely see the smokey outline. Which is part of why the stealth perk that lets you take 10 steps is nice.
Is there a place to donate money to the development team for the game?
You can find their contact information on the bottom of the site https://www.ironmace.com/
hey, can the cleric use heals with the crystal ball or spell book? In a way that he can handle the spell weapon and a physical weapon? when I played cleric in last playtest i felt it was very uncomfortable to switch all the time the weapon to cast spells. No other char have to do that i think
Cleric can use spell book yes, he cannot use a crystal ball. He cannot use a wep + spell wep at the same time.(you have to use 2 weapon sets)
so it's either the spell book or the staff?
Yes
ok. whats the difference?
Spellbook has less movement penalty, staff can still smack things for a tiny bit of damage in a pinch. Staff gets blocked more when casting spells ie: hit wall, book almost never does
wait, you hit walls when channeling a spell?
you can if you aim incorrectly
If you are too close yes hitting the wall when casting the spell can cancel it
it's environment
i wasn't able to hit with the staff, it's left click i guess?
Yes
thanks yuge. i will have to check the spell book
i find it a bit difficult to manage the cleric heals, because you have to aim too. Sometimes I healed or shielded some skeletons and not my friend xD. They should add some kinf of casting target aura before you release so you know where your spell will drop
This personally tilts the shit out of me too, i would like this
It's very gimmicky, even if you are aiming at your teammate right in front of you sometimes the spell just doesn't work at all
How do ppl selfcast spells like haste?
i look at a wall and release the button xD
if you leave the boss rooms in the hellzone do the mobs/boss reset their hp?
to avoid being cheesed
Can the felling axe break doors, and does breaking a chest change its loot?
As far as I could tell, no
It’s also easy as hell to cheese the boss
so does that mean you could just spam arrows/spells on the bosses and retreat out of the room to loose aggro
Yeah
I’ve done it multiple times
Regardless the boss’s attacks are easy to dodge, even for offense classes besides the aoe attack
If you clean up the ai around it you can cheese the hell out of the boss
ive wiped twice in the ghosts' room cuz of the AOE attacks
they come from the magma monsters rightr
Can you jump over the aoe slam?
so you'd have to kill those first
the aoe slam hits everybody in the room im pretty sure
I haven’t been able to
Just stack up on healing potions because the aoe isn’t too often
Once you kill the ai around the boss you can just keep repeating the same thing
If you stand by the door and spam the boss you can leave before the aoe hits you
as for the lich you can just circle it right?
Anywho, Im assuming the felling axe is strong enough to break doors on barb and tjat breaking chests doesnt change their loot, right?
They're not, get the perk for that.
If there are no players in the boss room it heals.
Correct on both counts.
yes unless you jump it or are standing on a pavise shield
What is the diff between crystal ball, spellbook, crystal sword and wizard staff?
Except for one handed, chance to hit wall etc. Magic diff?
The differences between the various magical casting items and weapons are this: They differ in movement speed penalties, utility, and casting animations (Not speed). Each have specific uses. For instance, the crystal sword is great if you want to be a battle mage and cast spells while also bonking people on the head. The staff is terrible for halls because it has wide casting animations, but also lets you bonk slightly stronger than sword. And some don't let you bonk but only cast spells.
So damage is the same? Magic damage i mean.
Cast animation is different but speed is the same? lol
Why would i ever choose a spellbook instead of a crystal ball as an example?
I just answered
Some allow you to have a main weapon dagger, others are better animations to cast in hallways
If your cast animation hits a wall your spell fails
I never once got resurrection to actually work, my friends had their soul hearts. Was it bugged?
I see, thank you
Which resurrection? By cleric’s spell or on the altar?
Cleric
Just casting resurrect aiming at the body and channeling the spell worked fine for me
Some said you needed to take off the person’s chest armor to avoid possible bugs
So to use the cleric res. spell you need to aim and focus on their body for the FULL duration which is like 20 seconds. It's super long. You can't move, or change view point and you can't have it fizzle either
Huh, ok. Makes sense
Its easy to fizzle cleric res with a staff, if u look down at body your staff with hit ground and fizzle
how oil latern work? what dmg common rare epic? can be this dmg be stacked ( fire on floor)?
Oil lantern creates a fire area, damage doesn't seem to change damage, just duration and light source
Nothing can stack as far as I know
I had two fire bombs thrown on me and I didn't feel like they done any increasing amounts of damage personally
but i don't entirely know and didn't have enough experience with it
can you for real smash chests
With Barb. Perk
only non reinforced chests aswell, each weapon has it own breaking property
Maddcow, is there a place where i can find all those charts u linked in chat during playtest
Eventually yes
Any chance i can get some early? 🥹
Not yet 🙂

Solo Barb🪓💪🏼
every time someone tells me solo is too hard, my e-peen gets a little bigger
What classes did he just say were in the talk for coming?
Solo rogue and avoiding fighting anything is so fun
i played 4 rounds this playtest solo and extracted all 4 with a ton of loot each time. invis potions are fucking awesome lol
Druid, Bard, Warlock, Sorcerer, Paladin, Artificer/Assassin
solo is more viable and more fun than any other extraction game imo
did someone ask when the next playtest is?
better than tarkov, hunt, etc
I just dunno who homie is, some of what he's said is assertive against what's been suggested from devs, like VA not being a metric to matchmake off of, or a general 'f you' to solo players when they have tried to make things a bit easier for solo.
"Thanks again to everyone that participated in our Alpha Playtest #2! We'll announce the date for the next playtest next week. See you soon! "
🤷 Enjoy Q&A.
matchmaking kills the game
Marauders imo is the most solo friendly extraction game by far
skill/gear-based MM, i mean
honestly this Q&A was ass
yeah i haven't gotten into marauders, looks kind of mid overall
VA is a soft matchmaking metric. It essentially tracks time indirectly.
awesome game, playing it every day with my friends
VA is short for?
So newer players (and newer accounts, in this case) play with one another, and vice versa.
veteran adventurer
yes i know what you mean by VA, i think it's a bad idea for the same reason it's a bad idea for all these extraction games
I got 36 hours in over the playtest and am hungry for more
You'd be incorrect, simply put.
okay :)

may I ask, how did that guy streaming the game ?
It's YouTube.
oh
🤚 solo play will be not that balanced, so there will be like a hub to search for party, and interact with people?.
wtf are you doing playing solo for, go make some friends lmao
Because people want to play when their friends aren't available.

sr, I dont have any question lol
Yo we need a description of an opinion vs a question
If it falls under feedback then it goes there.
I think this is mainly a Q&A about game features/mechanics
Is fall damage a mechanic that will be added? or no?
god i hope not its so fun without it
✋
🖐️
not sure if this is the right channel but will progression save between play tests?
hope not cuz i gifted away all my stuff in the last hours xd
verrrry doubtful tbh
i didnt think it would but my friend was asking about it lol
3 oil laterns will do same dmg as 1? ( If you throw them at the same time)
Lets clear the room for the guys and moderation
Will stash be open for other character
They are looking into this
ah ic
Will they improve cleric gear options eventually? it felt bad to have basically no options
Will they add item rotation for stash management?
If you asked a question previously, please psot again
i'd assume they'd have to, otherwise you can just get your friend to trade the items to you
They are always wanting to add more gear/options
A. do the devs actually give a fuck about the feedback channel? like is there a person purposefully taking notes of every viable and sensible idea and or change?
B. will i be able to have fun playing this game solo with every class within my choice of gameplay? without the need to co-operate with other people? i obviously dont mind joining someone\backstabbing him mid game inside.
My question is: Is the Dev team taking a sort of purist approach when it comes to table top DnD's difficulty? as in, is the Dev team going to resist the urge to listen to pleas about nerfing very lethal aspects of the game. will it remain a hardcore experience both in the pvp and pve realms?
Haven't heard confirmation one way or the other
Okay great, cause, i had very few options in terms of armor when i played, and maybe fewer for weapons.
Question: Will the speed with which skill checks for lockpicking and etc... be looked at further? They felt quite fast.
Does going in solo influence the other players team sizes?
@whole sluice Thank you again for taking the time to answer our questions. Will there be another round of answering these questions in this format? If so when?
No its completely random matchmaking, as it should be
Is there any drop rates percentage amoung on the items? and if not will there be any plans on adding one?
When comparing rogue stealth to mage invis, rogue stealth feels awful for use during combat. Is it more intdended that stealth only be an initiator/escape mechanic when looking specifically towards rogue or do they want it to be something useful in combat like invis?
Dunno, I think the Devs are going to have a more formal Q&A. I just stepped in for a few minutes and it snowballed 😄
Most things are being looked at. As always, post in #feedback-hidden-archive 🙂
Its useful in combat for the bonus damage from the perk, other tahn that it is intended as initiation/ escape
I don't have hardcore loot tables setup at this time
TBD?
You a real one. Was a good time.
does going solo influence spawn spots?
Is there a place for a longer form of suggestion rather than #feedback-hidden-archive which seems there is a lot of spam?
To me the Rogue invis is for setting up an ambush, not turning a corner and 'disappearing'
No
Nope, it's still good, they comb through it all
@whole sluice thanks for helping the community and being so patient with QnA. How did you get in your position with the devs? Would they open up the floor to more community members such as yourself?
ok thx
Just being friendly/helpful
Is the current starter gear going to be the same gear once level 1 is introduced?
As for opening, the original intent for Sages was to have additional people in the community help out precisely for that purpose )
Oh i have one other question but feel free to ignore it, will they address XP differences in playstyle for clerics/wizards. And the rest of the cast of classes. Because if you don't bonk or kill enemies you don't get a lot of XP. For example. Me and my friends had about a 3 level difference because i wasn't getting last hits and was hanging back and healing and buffing and playing it safe.
Possibly. Until we get floor 1 and they test it out we won't knopw
ok ty
Questions, will the max level cap be 20? any plans on letting a character have more than 4 perks?
I hope so. I like the idea of group shared XP
We are currently preparing a list of requirements for a lack of a better word to have some more transparency about the sage role. We are currently in a bit of a transitional period right now. There is definitely a desire for expansion, we need more sages since the community is growing so quickly.
Yeah it would be nice, or atleast casting/healing xp based on if you took a specific damage
No mention of max level cap or full max level informatoin, however, it makes sense to be 20 because similarity between D&D
kk, thanks
Will they open up Sage applications in the future?
@ornate glen y u playing musioc in the vc
Just feels really bad when you heal like a chad and get no xp
🤷 The position has changed a bit in the past few weeks
thought i was muted lmfao
the real reward is being in a position of absolute power with your teammates
and being full legendary after 20 hours 😉
TRUE
I accidently killed my friends three times with the twohanded hammer
while they fight the last guy, you can get first picks on all the loot 😄 perks of a healer
Please keep this channel clear for just questions and answers. Discussion to the Discussion channels, please and thanks 🙂
❤️ you all though
Will more class spells and abilities be added? for example. A charge spell for fighter, or more spell options, that you can change for cleric and wizard.
Yes. Spells for fighter maybe not so. However, they did mention looking into Multiclassing
Oh, dunno. Thats more a balance issue than anything else. However, sprint is a skill, not a spell, so it wouldn't benefit from increased spell capacity
Well i meant like, if they have sprint, as a skill, will there be more skills added later. And, how cleric has for example. Bless. Will a new spell be added and i can change out bless for that spell, to customize my playstyle and tailor to my comp
Oh, maybe? I'm sure they'll still have more options to choose from
The skill trees alone show icons for other skills so I would assume so
Sounds fun, casters in DnD are always fun for that.
Also this game is based on 5th level dnd yes?
Even just not really knowing what a wizard might have on his spell list would be a big boon to wizards lol
Not sure tbh. It 'feels' like a mix of 3.5/5
I want grease so bad 😄
grease and burning hands bb
Do there exist any preview or concepts of the skill trees that are in development or is that information still private for now?
Just what was in the game itself
is there any talk about adding a "offline" launcher? For training pve etc.?
Which only showed icons and a few tree paths
Not that I've heard
What's the reasoning or issues not keeping the game up?
Summoning with cleric is so fun, sad they haven't added it.
sticks to snakes!
Development time wasted on upkeep rather than core mechanics.
Exactly, that and cost.
Also helps keep people waiting and on the edge of their seat for any information.
Development
Evidently 😄
VR ? XD
+1 😄
Does which level you’re on impact rarity if chest items if it’s the same chest type? Im after science/confirmed answers from devs. If I open a lions chest on t2 and one on t3 do they give the same chances at loot?
Gimmy vr it'd be so funny
No info on VR
Yes
Actually, that is a good question. Do specific chests give better loot for specific classes?
No
Rough picture about loot and floors
@whole sluice really appreciate your effort ;D very impressive how you single handed are the community manager ;D
Is unique above epic?
all chests i open have better odds to give items from my teammates than me 🙂
is that what yellow is?
🤣 Nah, just someone with too much time on their hands getting glares from their family 😄
Grey, White, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Unique (Is order)
I don't know what grey and white is considered tbh
Every chest you don't open actually has 1 legendary
Yep, sages aren't devs or community managers or anything. We just try to help out where we can. Maddcow has been putting in work today lmao.
I had a legendary drop on floor 2
Common Loot = Gray
Uncommon Loot = White
I believe, I could be wrong
It was from a lions chest though.
Sounds about right
Bugged loot tables 🙂
I try to tell this to my frens but they just reply that i should stop being a goblin 😄
We going full diablo in here?
I don't believe so
Loot Goblins are the real winners
I've heard it's B1, B2, B3, New maps are talked about but they don't seem to stray from the three layered dungeon model
Honestly loot goblin rogues aren't as bad as you'd think in this game. They loot so quickly and usually if they're a good friend they'll give it to you for your class
Oh okay, so there will be variety. Cool.
Yeah, I'm not sure how legit it is but I heard about like a Goblin infested city as a b1 for a suggestion. I hope they go that route so I can channel my inner Goblin Slayer
Though the current map B1 will be a forest I think
I would love a kobold/lizard folk/dragon themed one
The only info we have is a screenshot of a cave from several months ago
Possible B1? 🤷
@whole sluice What is your favorite part of the game so far?
I've heard cave too. Either one would be cool, more maps would be amazing
Absolutely
ooooh... toughy
I like how it's deceptively simple
Nothing super convoluted, but still much depth
its like chess ... easy to learn, hard to master 😄
Yea because you are playing against other people trying to con you.
I'm a big fan of high skill floor games in general, but it's also just simple. Kill the things, get the things 😄
can someone tell me what does every stat in the game?
One of my favorite games is the Thief games from back in the day. @whole sluice Will there be any environmental type items in the game? Such as a water arrow/water potion to shoot out torches / moss potions you throw on the ground that silences your steps, etc
not sure if this is confirmed but i heard rumors about wipe-cycles, are there any ideas of permanent progression? for example a hideout where u can upgrade the starting gear which doesnt get wiped? small things like grey to white
Agility Move Speed Action Speed Equip Speed Interaction Speed (Regular)
Knowledge Spell Casting Speed Interaction Speed (Magical)
Resourcefulness Interaction Speed (Regular)
Strength Health Physical Power Bonus Physical Power
Will Magic Resist Resist Rating Magic Power Bonus Magic Power Buff and Curse Durations
Not too sure, but I also love those thief games
Not sure about any wipe mechanics, nothing announced
love you
i have a question / suggestion, we had a discussion about a guild system with beeing able to have like a private lobby like the queue room with like guild trophys liek the ones for first testers, the consesus was, that people would even pay real money to have that, maybe even some progression inside the guild hall for bigger pets etc
Sounds like a great thing for #feedback-hidden-archive
yeah guilds wold be fun addition
Would love guild housing
For me its the trinkets and baubles and purple and gold text. Also the massacreing of the heathen rogue and ranger army
After your 100th consecutive win towards meaty foot steps in the room nextdoor
Cursed show
How does one become sage?
The role is still in transition, so right now there isn't one.
It's changed like 3 or 4 times recently 😄
I removed my text due to fake news 😂
The original 2 were picked by the Devs, then we brought on others, but because of things changing, the role has been on pause for now
Haha no worries, appreciate it 😄
I'm assuming the #feedback-hidden-archive chat is also for suggestions?
Yarp
It's when you use Shrines, Escape Portal stones etc...
However, it didn't seem like it was functioning correctly
I would also think it 'might' be used for the doors on B3, but again I don't think it's working correctly
Oh, thx
Speaking of sage!? What are the benefits of being a sage?
Nothing. As it is the position is being dissolved I think
We checked, 1 knowledge give you 5% cast speed, what about other stats?
1 strength gives rogue 0.8 dmg
i see i see
Some classes definitely open the portals faster then others, so its at least partially in.
But it was just community volunteers, nothing special
Thats interaction (Regular)
Fair enough.
rogue open faster 100%, because of high agi
im pretty sure its resourcefulness
that being said, a ranger can do it faster
at default ofc
both
Agi and Res. both gave interaction speed. Res. was twice as potent though
agh i see i see
Resourcefulness increases interaction speed by a higher amount then agility, but agility does it to.
What about agi and str? how much you got for 1 point? Its similar for all classes?
There are thresholds that change how much each stat is weighed
oh, ok
In 'genera' 1 Str = 2HP & 1% Phys Power
Agi was 'roughly 1 Move speed, 1-2% action speed, 5% equip speed and like 2.4% interaction (Regular)
interesting
But again, there are point thresholds where you get more or less
thank you very much, we will test other stats on next test, hope will add pracrise room
Agreed
Here is the values for AGI on action speed
Oops, apparently I can't spam 😄
OH NO )
Lemme screenshot
Anything below 15 is a penalty and is worht a lot per point
Anything over is minor benefit until 25 AGI, then you are getting 2% instead of 1% per point of AGI for Action Speed
Interesting.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask
uhhh, can we have these tables?
So as for will power it states that it improves buffs/duration. So does that mean with high will power for the clerics bless ability in which gives a solid +5 to all stats should be increased to a higher number?
I mean, you can have the screenshots of mine
I'd rather not give them out so I can make a wiki
Or at least organize them into a more formal doc
fair enough i guess
Please
So if it was working correctly a wizard would open portals faster then other classes
Post it as view mode
but yes, i'd appreciate screenshots
Not higher number, duration. However, there is no duration number on the character sheet
true magic power work on rogue poison dmg?
Correct
Yes
hmm so many questions.... to many to ask but maybe for another time
feel like im always bothering you with it lmfao
Nah, I don't mind tbh
Love helping out others
Thats easy. Use a large warhammer
What did/does the Barbarians "+1 Weapon Impact" skill do/mean vs NPCs/Players? Or does it only affect the destructibles?
well yea ofc that is how i be doing it lol
It's for shield stability damage. However, it's not 100% working correctly
Mmmm!
i just think theres more
but on another note, thanks for the details ill be back lol
What if you make castspeed 100%? Instant everything?
No, it's 100% of the original speed. So if it takes 2 seconds, now it's 1 second
hi, what is the difference between: weapon damage, true phys damage and additional phys damage?
True damage bypasses all resistances/armor. Everything else is just added before Magic/Phys Power % modifiers
Also how does spell capacity works and how it is affected by will stat?
It wasn't in the last build
Then how it's supposed to be woking?
We don't know, because it isn't in
It should 'in theory' allow you to cast more spells
I found a piece of equipment that had the attribute, "+2 Magical Healing". What does that mean?
Healing spells heal for more
and also what is about phys healing ?
Phys healing = potions, bandages, campfire etc
if we are speaking about potions, does phys healing increase the total amount of recovery or hp from one tick?
Good to know. Must've been RNG stat allotment because the "+2 Magical Healing" was on a Fighter-only chest.
Then how does it affect those items? I mean we were testing this one and didn't see the difference. F.e. potion heals for 20, if I get +10 physical healing how does this one change the ammount?
Total
Yup
+4phys healing means a +10 HP bandage is now +14. A +15 HP potion is now +19. However, it does effect each 'tick' of a campfire. So you will heal 5 + (Phys healing+ per second/tick
any ideas to add possibility to roll stats on items?
However, because it's healed over time, it will round some of the tickets to a different number
? Whatcha mean?
Does any stat affect shields mechanic (protection of cleric, blue potions, protection shrines)?
maybe we will able to find some items that can be used on gear and they will change the stats on gear?
Possibly Will for duration, but I didn't do much caster testing this play test
Like Path of Exile? Haven't heard anything like that.
Yes I did test this one aswell and at least I saw the difference of "bless" duration
Bless is a spell, not a potion or shrine though
Spells DO get effected by will
But I don't know about non spell things
this also affects "protection" spell and ammount of damage absorbed?
I believe Will DOES increase damage absorbed, but I don't have definitive testing this playtest
Can any phys skill(for example rupture) be affected by any of the stats? Does any stat increase DOT damage output?
Depends on the source of the DOT. If it's physical based, +phys does more damage, if it's magic +magic etc...
That being said, +str effects Phys Based Power %, Will effects Magic Based Power %
Also how does will/spellpower affect smite damage output of cleric? Increase percentage or directly adds damage to it? F.e. if it says "10 damage with each hit" does this mean that is I get +10 magical damage I get 20 damage as the result?
we played a lot with a good gear and all fights looked like a game of 'oneshots' cuz any class was able to oneshot another class, do you have any plans how to increase def mechanics ?
I'm pretty sure the latter, but haven't tested casters this time. But, it would seem to be following the damage fomula. After all flat bonuses are calculated (For phys or magic) you then multiply those by your Phys Power %, or Magic Power % respectively
Less about fixing defense and more about fixing the damage calculations
What red line on lockpick? Instant open?
Yes
rogue+cleric+ranger vs community manager
agility influences spell casting?
no
We need to elect a victim... erm... Community Manager
Nope, just Knowledge
i see, it's just that there was this info on the table, so i wasn't sure
What about fall damage?
What info?
No fall damage
ok
do you have any plans to fix stats information in lobby? for example weapon damage
Thats a Dev question for #feedback-hidden-archive 😄
no plans for fall damage?
Haven't heard any, but that doesn't mean much tbh
of course there will be fall damage lol
@neat bramble oh? you must know something i don't.
I know, do tell
@whole sluice any plans to add wall spike in murderer leader board?
Haha
I have a plan for this next playtest personally
because it's unbalanced when you can escape situations by running up somewhere high and jumping off the ledge with no consequence, and then there's the realism part
unbalanced by what definition? sounds like a viable and interesting strategy to me
If a mechanic is broken, but everyone has access to that mechanic, is it unbalanced? 🤔
the map with the big round circle that had a dark pit, you could escape every single encounter that you were about to lose simply by hopping down
yes, and that made it more interesting. still not sure how that's unbalanced
that central area is already dangerous enough
And then they either run around in the dark and die because there are only 3 real exits, or you light a torch and get punked?
Just camp the stairs they can come up 😄
okay, then lets add escape button in menu that allows you to leave lobby with loot because that makes it more interesting
Or just after
c'mon now, you're being a bit ridiculous :)
I want an escape button from this conversation
i mean if you have a bow they cant really be safe when they jump down
😄
just click heads ya know?
well it's pitch black down there
My fireballs are gonna love u jumping down
One of the 2-nd level maps has a maze right in the center. It has 2 levels and the entraces are pretty far away from the actual center. We've met sutuations, when portals appear on the other level then you are and you just can't reach them without dieing. Is this one supposed to be so or it's just the thing to be fixed/changed later?
most people figured out not to have potions on their belt precisely because of that 😄
Hah "most" idk about that one people are not the best at learning
anyone feel like a sidestep manouver would make combat better? I find footsies lacking in this game a bit. Maybe tied to stamina or something.
footsies are fine, imo. it's quite easy to whiff punish if you're using the right class/build
e.g. rogue
yeah like rouge 😃 you miss the stab i just stab you in the face and walk back
guess i need to play more. as abarbarian it feel like you pretty much need to eat the attacks.
barb is slow, that's life
Game could use a designated thrust attack for every weapon
what i would be fine with is if they add a Slowfall potion so if you really wanted to take that kind of escape, you would need an item for it
can always use a faster weapon in the end
I guess thats what armor is for. Never really got geared out.
felling axe is fast if you hit
One of the few that gets faster as you chop
It's fun
I liked the Horseman too much on barb
Zwi all the way
"-50% spell casting speed" on the chart
im looking forward to see what levels will do to each class
Thats just base stats, the columns in green are the onyl stats that changed
Thats why I don't want to post things, because people take things out of context 😄
I will clean it up eventually and get the info out
Level 3 is menswear
I'm guessing this game's combat is more about gear than say footsies? Like a barb needs to have strong armor to tank hits and win and exchange? Could be why I was doing so bad. never really got properly geared up.
Also is the goblin trader just a random thing that happens?
Footsies > Gear to a certain extent
Time/day based
Footsies is more important than armor
play rogue and you'll see how strong footsies are
as barb you just can't afford to whiff
i see i see
for classes with quick weapons yes. But I had a hard time with the two handers. Just gotta get good I guess and use the range better.
i didn't meant to, i just wasn't sure :c
Whiffs are wild
That’s why I say the game could use a dedicated alternative attack type even if it’s something simple like just reversing the order of your attack combo
two handers are inherently slower, gonna be harder to play reactively. them's the breaks
you're using the wrong weapons/build if you want to play footsies
It's all good 🙂 No harm, no foul 😄
Why does magic missile sometimes "follow?" targets, or turn, and other just go straight?
yeah I think you just need better armor to eat some hits with the two handers which i never got around to getting.
It has a slight homing, but it has... performance issues
Magic Missile has tracking it’s just odd
To be fair, there isn't a class that really is intended to 'trade' hits
i thought barbarian was meant to eat hits for breakfast
how much tankier is the barbarian armor than the others/
No. It just allows him to sacrifice HP to get closer
i feel barbs are more akin to take a mace to the face
fair enough
Barb is supposed to be an HP tank, not a Armor tank
barb armor is less tanky than fighter, they can't wear plate
Fighter is Armor Tank
