After all of that, we have 4 slots of uncertain status: Daibesu, La DxRomulus, FlitterAE, octy_sc2. The only hint for any of those slots is Daibesu's "Post-Eye of Cthulhu" in FF4's Baron Castle, which I'm guessing is blocked on the Baron Key.
It'd be good to establish if those slots are all in go mode or if we have blocking items to find besides that known hint chain.

Hello, @here! I'm starting another Manechat Asynchronous Archipelago Game, with the intent of running until the the end of December 2025. If you're interested, please read the list of available games https://archipelago.gg/games and pick one or more games to run (or browse the archipelago discord server for unsupported games!), then ping me so I can keep track of you and help you out with any problems. Let's try to make sure that you like the game you picked and can complete it by the end of the month!
The game will start Thursday, December 4th or whenever everyone interested is ready.
In order to join, I will need the YAML files for whatever games you want to play. Please make sure you only join with a manageable workload, and the ability to play at least a little every four or so days.

For this run I'll have two clamshells as a goal. Both will be in my world. I will not randomize shops. I'll try out extreme region passes and progressive mounts.

A player could, with further development, be able to mouse over a location name in the client and see what it's tagged with, like how they can already see whether an item is progression or helpful
It would make it necessary to construct groups as needed, instead of having an easy maintainable set of groups the devs are familiar with
Additionally, automatically tag all locations based on their display region. So for example, the Boss - Shaku location automatically gets Boss today, but in the future it would also get Spawning Me...
That's true! I was thinking of it as a core archipelago feature but it could also be implemented apworld side
yeah right now the reason we have the groups we do is just because that's how the locations are groups in the apworld
there's a get_shop_locations for example
but if we can tack extra tags onto them why not
for a core feature, if the only core behavior we want is showing text in a tooltip, actually calling it "additional_tooltip_text" would likely be better
cross-game tagging ideas have been thrown around a lot in the past (albeit usually for items) and the typical problem is no way to ensure they're used consistently enough to achieve any goal, or being proposed with no goal at all (lol)
i think it's likely that core would cry just about the idea that these tags end up inside the datapackage and then it'd be bigger
although to be fair i just assume core will reject 99% of all ideas anyway

datapackages are already segmented enough that shouldn't be a knockout objection, but sure any new data has to deliver enough value to justify spending space on it, and yeah most of the time people suggest "tags" they fail to even attempt to justify it lol

The reason I want tags in the first place is that adding a lot of priority checks is a hassle, so the real problem lies with that system, not with groups
worth noting we have a very similar mechanism today for "extended hint information" / the "entrance" text field on hints
then I think we're missing a reason why "tags" are meaningfully different from the existing "groups" for this use case?
It's easier for a developer to just look at a single location and say "This has the following qualities" and then type them out instead of saying "let's have an x group and it should contain the following locations"
perhaps, but speaking as a dev, it's already trivial to convert one to the other (and often necessary to do similar conversions for a bunch of other tasks) so if the player interface is the same, then this still seems like we're just asking Emerassi to add more location groups

If you put any region pass items in your starting inventory, the first one will be chosen as your starting region.

1- I beat him and walked in yesterday, got teleported back, then saved at the Delende Waterfall spot and closed the game.
2- When I got back the day after, I was teleported back to proving meadows after the 10 seconds were up. The guard was stuck

what's ladder storage?
Ladder storage is when you do an action like attacking with a weapon while at the same time grabbing a ladder
This places you in a hybrid state where you are both climbing and moving around
I never did learn Tunic ladder storage, but that sounds awfully similar to Nine Sols ledge storage 
You can move anywhere you like in that state with no regard for floors
You may not move vertically except by walking on a slope that takes you up. You may not pass through walls
And if you ever let go of the run button, you will be teleported back to the ladder you started at
If you get hit by an enemy during this state, it's cancelled with no teleportation! You just fall directly down
Practically speaking it's used to cross gaps or go down vertically without having to path there
ohhh that's neat

i don't think we made rabbit's claws progression because you don't actually need either of the shortcuts to get anywhere
That would normally be true
But with extreme regions, what are your options to bypass it?
There's going through the cave to the north and emerging out from the other side, which takes longer than ten seconds. There's using a quintar which requires having one. There's going through seaside cliffs which also takes longer than ten seconds unless you have an owl or golden quintar
with the shortcut NPCs, afaict you have to get to where they are to convince them to drop down, rabbit claws or otherwise
and them dropping down just gives you a shortcut from somewhere you've already been
so no progression involved

One funny trick the Tunic randomizer does is when you launch the game it teleports you to various places with a black screen
Then when it has all the assets it needs loaded in memory, it takes you back to the main menu

which tbf is one of my favorite traps in any AP game I've played, it's so rare that any trap is more interesting than "you die now"
but Tour rift is loooooong, and parade trap doesn't end until you die or finish the level
I like Crystal Project's dunk trap
Which picks a random body of water and dunks you in it
I dunno how those parade birds follow me between dimensions but they do
I have not tried it because I am an enemy of traps
there's a few too many crystal project traps that just annoy me instead of being interesting for me to use them when i'm not just testing them currently
teleport, dunk tank, moon jump and crag demon are fun but i don't really like the rest of them

At this point i think i am largely blocked on flippers, but i might be short on some keys here or there
There's a hollow knight mod that adds a charm you can equip to temporarily uninfect crossroads
What does uninfection of crossroads accomplish? Were there checks that become inaccessible upon infection?
no, it's just annoying / significantly more dangerous
the enemies get a lot stronger and certain looping pathways are blocked, so you have to go the long way
personally I actually have the debug mod to flip it off if it hits too early
i've had the crossroads get infected before i leave the tutorial area
in a sync, not an async
like 5 seconds into me playing the game and it's infected XD
a couple types of the stronger enemies are real annoying, like the giant flies that chase you and don't get knocked back very far if you smack them, or the flies that fly around and drop molten rain from off the screen
and a couple of the paths that get blocked feel so rude
everyone else enjoyed listening to you suffer if that makes you feel any better about it
The giant flies are what I look forward to because they're easy to fight and drop lots of money
If you practice it, you can also fight them as you move
they are pretty good for money, it's true
usually i end up trapping them on the other side of a platform where i can smack them

i think you can still warp to a homepoint even if it's buried under other icons but it does make it kind of a guessing game
