Bag upgrades are very important. Each makes it so I can hold one more item in the dungeon. The vanilla game starts with the ability to bring fifteen, but the randomizer makes it so I can only take one item with me. Without enough healing it would be a lot tougher to finish levels.

Flippers shouldn't be a problem to get, I just haven't gotten over there yet. Feather I just need the cube because chime access is randomized and I've moved the bridge access to Lefein instead of exiting Coneria, and I have Highway to Ordeals opened so I can just walk over there. I've already looted the tower.

Very well made, flexible settings, run length of 50 mins to 15 hours depending on the settings

It's very different from the built-in randomizer. I like the setting where it gates checks by area licenses you need to get, and allows you to only do areas the game marks as expert or lower, for example

The way this game works is funny. Finishing each dungeon is one check, with cutscenes and everything as if it's part of the story, then you have to pick up several missions and go back to the dungeon to do these missions, and each is an additional check

I tried finishing them in order but the boss of amp plains destroyed me. I don't recall it being difficult in vanilla.

I'm very amused how much randomizer change the experience in ff4. Generally, as you play through you find new equipment for the characters in your party, and you equip it. No thoughts. Now, I'm looking at things like, Hmm, shield for better defense or power bracelet for damage? Eh, he's already evasive, go for more damage.

I specifically go for the randos that have good game play or tht focus on what makes the game fun. Definitely found some games that don't randomizer well, for my goals.
DS3, Mega Man X1, FF4 are all great imo. Mario World made the game less fun for me. The randomizer locked away all the player skill stuff so the game just became a slog.

I've been playing through Hollow Knight again before starting on Silk Song, and I definitely want to try it as a randomizer now. If seems like the kind of game that would be really fun.

So for my last run, I did a run to the end of the game, but no postgame content. This time I'll make the goal be the postgame final boss. The postgame requires beating the endgame first, so it's guaranteed to be longer

In order to get to the endgame I need six relic fragments, and there will be eight in the game. To get to Dark Crater, I'll need four instruments, and no extras will be around. I'll move my abilities like bag upgrades, recruiting pokemon, and so on to be items that need to be found

#

Dojo dungeons are a good way of grinding in the early game, and are not interesting to have as items, so I'll make them all open from the start.

This time instead of just picking a random starter I'm picking one with a good IQ group

#

IQ skills are basically bonus abilities you get when you improve your intelligence stat, and which ones you get depends on what species you are.
Group A's niche is finding bonus items. No starters have it. B has no starters. C has Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Shinx and Riolu. Its niche is offense. D focuses on being fast and getting lucky. Pikachu and Treecko have it. E is for tanks and has Squirtle, Totodile, Phanby, Munchlax, and Turtwig.
F has Bulbasaur, Piplup, Mudkip and Eevee, and it gets utility like being able to walk over water, which makes them really good. G is for exploring, especially finding the stairs immediately. I must take one of Meowth, Skitty or Vulpix.
H has Chicorita, and it does defense and healing. I and J are legendary pokemon only

so for this round on my jigsaw i put it on piece_order_type = four_parts

#

that means that it picks a quarter of the puzzle and gives me all my pieces from there until it gives me that whole quarter

i like it because usually there's a flow

where it's quite difficult to start

but then it becomes very easy

#

and i still get that flow but i get it 4 times

#

instead of having it be all hard for the first half the puzzle and then just way too easy for the last quarter or so

Had 100 something items left, all in shopsanity. I sold all my items for a lot of money then ran around buying all the shop items. Only had to release 2 locations because I had already got rid of the item I needed for them. XD
