the goron fire part is definitely one of the hardest parts of the game but it only took me like 3 tries
being able to quicksave at the start helped a bit, but you have enough time to stop and change direction twice, makes it way easier when you figure out that timing

oh it's completely stable, its issues are all unfinished stuff
the most obvious one is the placeholder image of a Touhou character for every ingame item , but the most important one is that they haven't finished splitting the logic into different difficulty levels for all regions (and the second most important is "castle spawn"; right now you're effectively required to start 99% of seeds with the same Dungeon -> Underbelley -> Bailey path)
but they did do split_sun_greaves which I highly recommend enabling

yep, each of the 4 vanilla kicks is a separate item, so you get some paths unlocked at 1 kick and other paths unlocked at 2 kicks and so on

the poptracker pack is also pretty good, I think it had a few known inconsistencies with the actual rando but they're hard to hit in practice and iiuc they're waiting on the base game to finish logic level splitting before properly syncing it all

I've actually done it twice in two completely different ways now
in vanilla, I completely missed the intended path after grabbing cling and found cheesy ways to get on top of the left mini-tower without ever opening the gates at the bottom
then when I was playing on hard I felt like trying the speedrunner strat of ultra'ing from the right mini-tower and kicking around it instead
(I suck at ultras, but a mere "super" is still enough to make that work)

I gotta learn this tech before I start. I've seen runners doing slide into backflip for extra height so I'm assuming that's what ultras are

yeah, an "ultra" is any jump that has the yellow afterimages and special sound
which is technically a backflip done at a certain horizontal speed, so slides are the most common way to do it especially in speedruns
and if you don't suck you can trick the "backflip" into being a "flip wherever I want"

a game's AP randomizer mod, for modern non-ROM games, is usually compatible with other mods that are cosmetic-only or UI-only, but there's no hard guarantee and ideally the game's AP page would say something about this

there was a fascinating conversation in the AP dev channels about whether OoT could work with a generic entrance randomization algorithm because OoT is just that weird and special (tl;dr probably not possible)

iirc the biggest specific stumbling blocks were
a) they want adult and child worlds to have the same layout, but of course the logic rules are different
b) AP generally assumes anywhere you ever could reach, you can always get back to later, but adult and child link have different respawn points, which themselves can be shuffled, so ER has to account for time travelling and then death warping to wherever
