what I believe happened is that when I set all this up I copy-pasted the whole local Blasphemous folder, so all the modding stuff would be isolated from the regular game and its save files, but I only just realized the save files are not stored in the same folder as the game, so today when I used Steam for the first time since we started this Archipelago (to play Nier), it resynced its save files and so my modded game ended up loading my vanilla save
there's probably a better way to do all that, but in any event I'm back where I left off

@lament tusk I think you need at least three. Death mountain, desert colossus, kakariko graveyard. Theres also one needed in lost woods for a skulltula, but you dont have skullsanity. Finally, you might need a 5th in Lake Hylia if you get beans before Hookshot

a few of these are NPC sidequest items that'll let me do their checks, a few are the equivalents of charms and charm notches and a grub, and the most important ones are that Key Grown From Twisted Wood which opens the DLC area that starts the true ending stuff, and the Nail Uprooted From Dirt relic which allows free movement in mud/swamps so I can reach several more checks now

the Seguiriya to your Eyes like Stars prayer (basically it applies Quick Slash) you found was actually one of my favorites for bosses in my first playthrough

since I'm usually a "just do basic attack on everything" kind of player so even when the game gives me 50 spells I do the "more basic attacks" spell
in fact I should try Seguiriya on Esdras (the boss I never actually did in vanilla and got stuck on last night)
it's been fun using Romance to the Crimson Mist instead (applies Defender's Crest / spawns enemy-damaging clouds) but that one relies on being very close to bosses, and Esdras is the kind I really need to stay far away from as much as possible

items worth knowing about in my game are:
- now that I have the three Holy Wounds, to reach normal endgame I believe I only need the three Masks (normally dropped by another three bosses); Embossed Mask of Crescente and Deformed Mask of Orestes are missing
- the remaining Relics / metroidvania abilities that'd let me reach a bunch more miscellaneous checks are Linen of Golden Thread (bottomless pit immunity), Silvered Lung of Dolphos (poison cloud immunity) and Three Gnarled Tongues (spawns more platforms)

arch discord explained that not only flippers but magic mirror are required to get into swamp palace; I didn't realize this because when you get here in vanilla you'll always have the mirror so there's no reason to use a portal farther away and you don't notice that leaving the area prevents the floodgate from staying open
so that's at least three dungeons blocked by the mirror
hm... Mirabras of the Return to Port is my warp-to-last-checkpoint spell, there's a few rooms I could maybe half-cheese with that as a way out

of the dungeons I couldn't even enter before, three I have the big key for (on top of at least one small key): desert palace, tower of hera, and turtle rock
so exploring those three is my main goal for this session
using a hookshot to grab a fairy feels needlessly gruesome
I just realized the Skull Woods (i.e. a dark world dungeon) boss gave me a pendant instead of a crystal
I guess the way the randomizer works is the pendants and crystals are just a counter of how many dungeons you beat
