the dream bosses/"rematches" are generally a higher difficulty level than the warrior dreams

they also give significantly more essence

Sometimes I wonder why I play such hard games

at least in my case, it's because in a (good) hard game, getting better over time is unironically part of the fun

of course that's a careful balancing act and in practice they can generally only make it work for a certain range of skill levels, buuuuuut at least I think HK (and Nine Sols, among others) did a pretty great job with it

(there are parts that get truly stupidly hard, but they're so late into optional DLC content that I had no hard feelings about saying "ok this is my limit, I'm finally done")

Silksong made a pretty big gamble that you got gud in the first HK. I'm still a bit on the fence about it but I have to admit in practice it really did work for me.

I am curious how far into the HK DLC you'll be able to get (assuming you dare try it)

unless you factor godhome in which case HK is just a harder game in every aspect

But Skong doesnt have its dlcs yet

It's also fair to point out, that the baseline level of difficulty in Silksong is harder.

Like, the bosses start to be challenging much sooner in Skong compared to HK

Nothing in Skong is much harder than ||The Radiance|| if anything, but you get to fight a lot more difficult fights accross the game compared to vanilla HK

Consider the following charms if you have them:
Hiveblood - HP regen
Grubsong - Some Soul every time you take damage, allowing you get some heals in
Deep Focus - Double Heal but slower
Any Nail Range charm - Easier to hit pogos required in some sections.

there is no map and no geo to collect so you can make as much space as possible for charms that help you with platforming

WIth grubsong and hiveblood you essentially have as many attempts as you need

As long as you wait a bit between attempts, since it regens only one hp and sometimes you are gonna take more

With infinite attempts it's essentially just a matter of practice
