they'll joke about their character lore but they dont take it too seriously, they have no issue talking about real life topics and real life events that happened in their personal lives, in some cases, some like Calliope will say "grim reaper/death sensei" just to refer to any mentor figure in her life, but probably just to avoid specifics. when talking about a place, they might sometimes refer to an irl location by the name of a fictional country in their lore, but again, mostly to avoid specific names
the personal stories they tell are real

it's safe to say they mostly are themselves, but they like to have fun with lore, makes for good inside jokes and recurring gags, and good cover to avoid doxxing themselves.
