Echo is already a pretty big advantage, and ex isn't super tight with stats requirement to begin with.
I learned this in random groups on PF and you bet most people there weren't super optimised, we didn't have echo and close to min ilvl gear.

It's the 24 men raids for Stormblood, I loved every single raid but the story was really a letdown for me.
Needlessly convoluted, unlikeable characters, and too many characters are all big problems.
I enjoyed bits of it, but the whole package let me down.
