Well ShB and EW have all story dungeons with Duty Support, the last batch of Duty Support was only for 4.0
and i like doing a new dungeon in Duty Support, the bots are better than most players and you can go to the bathroom without being judged

and 2. If you die it's an instant wipe
plus when i say the bots are better than most players i mean in terms of teaching you how to dodge The Mechanics™️, you're going to have to be on the ball for tanking

As a Tank you go in, use a couple of AOe attacks and alt tab to something more interesting
As a DPS you just let your 3 friends aggro and stand back

If there is a healer they can help you of course

from my currently level 70ish bard perspective, you get a bunch of useful whole team buffs and a "maybe this will trigger, maybe not" buttons for that sweet extra damage. the challenge is keepin tabs on everything goin on (your buffs not runnin out and makin sure there is a song active at all times once u get access to all 3, not forgettin to use an attack that's on a longer cooldown, reactin to use the attack that may or may not trigger, you're physical ranged so if there's a fight mechanic that requires movin around optimally you should be the one to do it bc u can keep pressin your buttons to attack while moving). its a bit more all-over-the-place job compared to some with super rigid rotation
and you know, its supposed to excel at usin a bow/lyras you can use as a bow
and big hats. thats just a bard me thing but i feel big hats are extremely important
though ppl like genryu can tell ya what exactly feels different from everything else since he's the one with all 90s
i also think havin more than one class can be incredibly fun n is a really cool feature of ff14 specifically but thats for you to test out if you ever feel the itch. i started out thinkin ill only use monk and ninja and now i dabble in like 7 fight classes n every single one crafter/gatherer so. that didnt pan out
but this is a very very long game n goin at ur own pace is crucial for havin fun

I'll make a quick comparison with the two other ranged DPS classes in case they can also be of interest.
Dancer is a more bard version of the bard.
Less personal damage, but stronger party buffs, and more random buttons that proc other random abilities, and more mobility.
Machinist is more personal damage and a more rigid rotation, he has some interesting unique utility it brings to the table as well like a reduction of damage he can target an enemy with.
That said, the rotation is very strict and can be hard to execute on high ping.
Oh I should specify in case you are in the free trial.
Machinist you have access to but you need to finish ARR completely
And DNC you actually need to buy the complete version but it's accessible in Limsa as soon as you touch 50
Of the three BRD is my favourite, I think it's a decent sweet spot, I like the 3 songs and the different mechanics each has, and it requires a bit less staring at the bars to see if something procced
