I assume that not all of them will be just dedicated to personal housing, some will be just for guild houses, and some will be mixed, but it's still pretty good

hmmmmm. well thats very hard to answer. i really like arr's buildup because im a sucker for "rise from humble beginnings" plotbeat, n the tri city state setting is cool, and i very much enjoy the anime feeling ending of the "first" part. but even if i didnt personally feel like arr dragged, i can see hw is more tightly scripted and. like, "realistic"? which feels weird to say but whatever. my favorite part of story so far is... i guess their combination? the tailend of arr n beginnin of hw. ||crystal braves fallout? most friends assumed dead? best ruler ever assassinated in front of you n you're framed? stripped of your power n haunted by an asshole dragon? morale at all time low?|| thats all amazing. and so you flee to this foreign land that only promises to throw more hardship at you. ||the pope|| cant really compare to that feeling of hopelessness unfortunately. i mean he serves his purpose well but like. ||im still worried about my missin friends more than i rejoice about endin the dragonsong war.|| which i guess makes me kinda "selfish" but what can i say. i often prefer to put the wellbeing of my friends before needs of masses in videogames. i. thankfully didnt have the misfortune to be in position of power where id have to make that choice irl

You don't have to do any of it, but I do advise doing them at least before starting Endwalker, ideally before finishing Shadowbringers' base story
They aren't really related but they add to the world and the lore in a very meaningful way and help you making guesses about the story going forward.

Warring Triad Questline: It's started in Ishgard, from the "Gods of Eld" quest, and it's a series of trials (8 men bosses), it's very good and definitely worth doing.

Alexander: As you were teased by one of the cutscenes at the end of the expacs, that's in Idylshire, from the quest "Disarmed", it's an 8 players raid content, like he Coils of Bahamuth
Unlike the coils of bahamuth, the normal difficulty however is tuned so you can pretty reasonably do it with the Duty Finder and 7 other random people.
This involves Cid and a few other recurring characters, also it has IMO a VERY enjoyable story, so it's highly recommended. -
Shadow of Mhach questline: This is the 24 men raid, like the Crystal Tower, this definitely feels less important storywise, but it's pretty good, and has some fucking cool locations.
It's started in Ishgard from the "Sky Pirates" quest

W and S for forward and backwards
A and D for turn left and turn right
Strafe left and strafe right not bound
Fixed camera enabled.
Congratulations, you can now move in all 8 possible directions at full speed! Before the patch, you could only do so with 6 when you used strafing keys instead of turning keys, because you would be backpedaling if you tried to move diagonally backwards.

Worth mentioning that all the raid/trial stories release in chunks during the expansion lifecycle, so feel free to mix and match them or continue the MSQ
They are not necessarily meant to be done all in one go, and have pretty natural stopping points to take breaks from them
They are all pretty decent, except the Stormblood 24 men raid, which is IMO just really bad

To be clear, I like the side quests in the game quite a bit, there are some really cool shit in there, but I understand putting it in the optional part, so they can better curate the pacing of the MSQ.
Also worth mentioning that a lot of the very important lore and characters in the game, you do meet in side content.

There are some optional stuff that rank among some of my favourite parts of the game
There is a crafter (culinary/alchemist) side quest in shadowbringer that is about making a poisoned bird recover, by crafting supplements and healthy food, that stuff is kind of awesome and I'm pretty sure most players never even know it exists.

my favorite completely-regularly-marked sidequest so far is a cook stopping you in ishgard.
she approaches you with a "you know, the world kinda sucks right now. you know what can make it a little more bearable? soup. can you find some people that look like they need a break and give them directions so they can come for a bowl?"
and so you go. a beggar in brume, cold and shivering. an angry soldier, grappling with senselessness of war. a widow, mourning her beloved. you talk to them all, and you send them to the cook, and you see them gathered around the cookin pot talking n being happy for this short moment in time.
and then the cook thanks you for all you´ve done, but stops you before you go. "hey, you look like you´ve been havin a pretty rough time too. would you like some soup?" and the main quest has been throwin danger and betrayal and death of friends and exile and war at you all steeped in misery for so long now that, you know what?

So basically, there are two different jump lengths that you need to be aware of; normal jump, and short jump. Short jump is when from a standstill you press both W and Space at the same time, maybe give W a fraction of a second advantage. For the normal jump you need to do a little run-up, like a step or two. Practice those jumps in a safe area. Observe how far and how high each one goes.

It's not that bad since the 1st time you do a trial you do get priority in the queue
If you do it right after the reset, when everyone is running their rulette, it should be easy enough to form a group
