but yeah, this is the big canon example of him surviving a literal fall from orbit with only the armor, mostly because Mjolnir armor is just that OP
the new UI is interesting
I like how someone still has to find him down there and turn it off and on again before he can get up
Master chief taking his helmet off when he gets in the ship https://i.imgur.com/IPuUehV.png
(He has another helmet under it)

...how did he fall off a spaceship
tbf it was a Covenant ship so maybe they chased him off it
i like this new plasma gun a lot
no overheating
spiker !
that's what it's called
so i guess it's not a plasma gun
wasn't he hanging onto the outside of the spaceship when it launched?
oh yeah he is
i just got an achievement for fighting alongside a guy named "Chips Dubbo"
welp I have no idea how he fell out then
Who's writing this dialogue https://i.imgur.com/OiHioVx.png
The guy's name is literally on him
What's worse is he knows my name even though I've never told him
are youu playing Old School Runescape
Yeah
I always figured he jumped, in order not to be alone on a ship full of Covenant.
I played 11 one-minute per player games in 30 minutes and tied for first place!
Nice
damn
Finished the Misthalin Mystery quest in OSRS. Having sound effects and visual effects turned off makes the boss fight where you use the mirror to reflect knives so much more annoying
The writing is pretty silly. Bit too silly for me. It's self-contained, well-designed for an MMO. I can see why people like it
https://i.imgur.com/tYVlZ0U.png This guy has several alts he multiboxes to mine worthless ore
oooh, OSRS is a classic. It's strange to me that they never updated it's graphics, but i guess that's part of what makes it easy to run for folks
They did update the graphics many times
I am intentionally running on garbo mode

Old School RuneScape is a retro game version of RuneScape from 2007 which we returned at the comm...
oh neat, I'll have ot give it a shot whenit comes out
I've not played in years, probably can't recover my account, I couldn't find it last time i tried
I'm playing a randomizer where chunks and items are locked behind doing various random tasks
So if you don't have a chunk unlocked, you're not allowed to do anything in it. You're allowed to cross it towards a chunk you do have unlocked. If you try to equip an item you have without permission, the plugin prevents you from doing that
wait, how does that work? is that a mode for when you make an account? or is this a third party thing?
It uses a runelite plugin
Runelite is a third party client that is officially integrated into the jagex launcher
The plugins are individually checked to make sure they're safe from a programming perspective, and they let you do all sorts of things like create overlays, look up stuff, change graphics
oh interesting, that's neat that it's integrated

Gutted
i feel like Mario Kart Tour tracks are just genuinely dogshit in MK8D
like "wow, the layout changes. riveting."
Doesn't stop it from being a flat, boring ass stage that feels like i'm going to fall asleep at the wheel, somewhat literally

The legend returns
"As Dune: Awakening celebrates 1 million players, Funcom reveals an unforgiving 816,720 deaths to Shai-Hulud and over 6 billion grams of Spice consumed by fans of the survival MMO"
I still think the spice hallucinations are the coolest thing they put into the game
I want to play it but $65 is a lot
65? Which platform it's 65 on?
Steam. This is in Canada dollars
Oh, makes sense
I wonder if it'll go on sale for the summer sale
Maybe a 10-15% is realistic
Yeah probably
jump into battlefront 2
it's triple exp day!
go into heroes vs villains match
people are immediately insulting each other
wow, this game really is healing
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
why are people suddenly so back into Battlefront 2
Because it's 2025
They make a new Star Wars Battlefront 2 every ten years
Star Wars: Battlefront II may refer to:
Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005 video game), a 2005 first- and third-person shooter video game
Star Wars Battlefront II (2017 video game), a 2017 action shooter video game
I can't wait for Star Wars Battlefront II (2029)
May 4th, also the game with all DLCs is like 3 bucks
And it looks good, and it plays good, and it runs really good
it was also free on EGS at some point (with all DLCs)
and yeah, people slept on it because of the microtransaction debacle
EA community manager, we salute you.
I'm actually a little mad that I didn't hear about how good the game was before (although I would've never payed full price for this plus the DLC) because I was there when the first and second Battlefronts came out and when the whole thing with the microtransactions with BFII happened and the whole 'sense of satisfaction' thing that was a huge meme
but I was always under the impression that the game was also kind of bad
as I hear it, singleplayer is not great, especially in the first modern game (2015)
But no it's actually fantastic it's incredibly fun and fortunately it seems like it's actually gotten the most players it ever had in its entire lifetime
I remember hearing something about the campaign being bad but I don't remember if it was BF1 or BF2
I'm definitely not giving money to EA for any reason
but think of the poor execs needing their bonuses. wont anyone please think of the execs
I'll think of them when they think of me
these trailers are so sick
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/wanna-make-mods-for-stalker-2-thatll-be-700-gb-of-hard-drive-space-please/ what the hell
They probably just released the internal dev kit after making sure nothing they're not allowed to release is included
Guy who cheated in competitive Fortnite got sued and didn't show up to court, getting a default judgement
in the amount of $175,521.00 from the date of entry of judgment in this action.

successors, and assigns, and all others in active concert or participation with
Defendant are permanently enjoined from:

Fortnite;
iv. Using any software or device not authorized by Plaintiff that provides
Fortnite players a competitive advantage in Fortnite; and
v. Aiding or assisting another person or entity in any of the activities
described in (a)–(d) above```
but it's i through iv, not a through d
it's very common for AAA game dev repositories to be over 500 GB
for a game that has a 100 to 150 GB install size, 700 GB is not out of the question
if the defendant didn't show up do you think the proofreader will?
Interestingly, the guy's children are also banned from Fortnite
You never disown your children
I think Flitter and I are just nitpicking the legalese
You send them to sea until they get scurvy, then throw them in the oubliette and hope the -6 health kills them
also, this is true in some countries, you cannot disown someone in France
If you just disown them they'll come back with an equal army size to you and fight as claimants
I am not sure they are, reading it
At least by how I read it, it might be meaning that they can't help him play fortnite.
As in "all these categories are banned from playing fortnite while in active partecipation with the individual"
I read this as "and all others in active concert or participation with"
It would be very weird if they could ban his employees from playing for example
Or maybe anyone that might have helped him cheat
it's funny how legalese is supposed to clarify things, but it mostly just adds more questions unless you have a lawyer handy
Mario Maker 3 when?
huh, the new Liam Triforce video is about Mario Kart World
maybe I'll end up understanding what GT was on about the other day
No idea who that is, so maybe not. All the stuff I said was just my own observations and it was technically biased by my own opinions on what constitutes as fun. I'm no critic, just a guy.
just a guy who does video essays I watch sometimes, nothing to know other than he tends to focus on the Nintendo serieses
At least he owns the game. I can't tell you anything about how it plays, how it runs, or how it controls. All the knowledge and observations I have of it are based on videos and streams I've seen of it.
Also, it's a permanent injunction, so barring his kids means that even after he's dead and they're grown adults they still wouldn't be allowed to play
for once, 💀 feels like an appropriate laugh emoji
whew
this dueling thing is pretty intense
this was another nice long duel that got pretty close too, I actually fought the Grievous immediately after and won that fight too
I got some pretty good matches today (and some awful ones, lots of disconnecting and gamers being gamers)
I'm actually really surprised at how much this feels like playing Jedi Academy, down to some of the tech you have to pull off with the mouse flicks and a lot of people being down to respect the 1v1 rule and just sort of stand around and watch waiting for their turn to jump in
I was doing the mouse flick thing pretty hard in this fight, but it's tricky and the characters (I assume intentionally) are super weighty to control and there's a noticeable input delay with pretty much any of your actions other than just basic movement, so you can't quite spam or mash your keyboard at least not in a way that would benefit you at all (any player that knows how to parry and when to block would beat you pretty much immediately)
but it's interesting, I like it, whenever there's nobody being toxic or racist in chat or any players leaving the match this is a pretty fun time, I rematched quite a lot with some familiar usernames and that was almost always a guaranteed good match
whenever there's nobody being toxic or racist in chat
disabling chat probably helps
I have voice chat off in games that don't have a strict requirement on it, it's almost never a good experience in a public lobby
but even text chat off is worth considering in games that have a bad reputation for toxicity, at least for the enemy team

I'm trying to decide between buying Silent Hill 2 and Ghost of Tsushima
(Deltarune chapter 4 stuff) ||hot damn, I beat the hammer of justice fight first try without knowing anything about what to expect from the fight||
I'm gonna buy SH2
assuming you've heard all the content warnings for it, yeah SH2 is an experience you'd be hard pressed to get from any other video game
I haven't personally played Tsushima but from everything I've heard it's "just" another solid AAA open world, we've probably all played a few of those by now
this is flames
I can probably get Ghost of Tsushima for cheaper as a used physical copy tbh
I have bought SH2
"you have been banned from steam" /s
I want zomboiiiiid
But I've got bills to pay... It's only 4 dollas
Grrrr maybe next time then
Its always 33% anyway
damn i got happy for a sec but its 13eur here
Regional pricing
Aaaaa steam is not loading
meanwhile, on prime
Not me
Breath of the Wild and Read Dead Redemption 2 are the best open world games imo
Project zomboid is great but its isometric and its a zombie game
Rdr2,dying light, and potentially baldurs i would say are rhe best, each in different categories, though baldurs might be semi open?
Baldur's Gate 3 is just the best game
I need to continue RDR2. I got it at the same time I got Death Stranding, and I got distracted by that
I really enjoyed it tho
Tahiti
I got them all 🙂
BotW is still very good in my book if you want an open world game that eschews the typical flaws of the genre
yeah, BotW worked for me, while I know I wouldn't enjoy RDR2 or BG3 much, though I can at least appreciate what they're going for
I thought you played BG3, I must have confused with someone else
botw mentioned 🗣️
Silent Hill 2 is fucking creepy
when you get far enough to do some theorizing, feel free to use https://discord.com/channels/98609319519453184/1032836636490346576
Oh I didnt know there was a Silent Hill thread
yeah, we have a lot of quiet threads that only wake up when someone feels like playing that game
I've wanted to play SH2 for a while now, so its nice to finally play it, even if it is the remake
Which people obviously liked the remake a lot
And I can get why
I'm familiar with both versions and honestly I don't think the remake is even a downside here; the original and remake both have things they do better than the other, and I suspect the remake's advantages work out better for a first-time player anyway
This is my first Silent Hill game btw
that's also fine, 2 in particular is a very self-contained story
there's a few references to the events of SH1 but for the most part the only thing worth knowing is that there was another game of spooky supernatural stuff happening here, so by the time you get really confused about the plot, e.g. "the entire town is made up" is not a theory on the table
real
There was one ambient noise while on the fire escape to the apartment building that scared the shit out of me and made me jump
oooh I think I remember that spot
is that the one you use to move between two bedrooms because the second one's door is locked
Yeah
yeah I think we're talking about the same spot then
It's where you get the button for the jukebox
IIRC the noise there is slightly random so back in the day there would be stories of people disagreeing about whether that noise was even real because "it didn't happen in my playthrough"
oh whoops that fire escape
I'm thinking of a later part then
wouldn't surprise me if they did the same noise thing over there though
I'm pretty sure the noise was just metal creaking, but I was not expecting it
now that I'm thinking of the correct spot, probably yeah
wasn't Silent Hill 1 ||a cult or something ?||
I can already see why so many people love this game tho
mostly yes
what's really impressive about the remake is that it has those unique SH2 vibes even in parts like what you're playing now which were completely invented for the remake (most of the jukebox puzzle is remake-only content)
Death Stranding 2 is done downloading so I'm gonna play it now
fair
fine i will watch Liam Triforce's SH video
how many body parts were you missing by the end of that
gg
peakggle and crash for 5$ combined
Might get the N-Sane Trilogy.
I played the first one on game pass but didn't have time for the other two
should I bother? 😛
The third game is considered one of the best games of all time, at least the original is.
Remake is good too
Only has minor flaws (like capsule shaped collision making it easier to slip off of thin platforms)
The remastered trilogy is competently made and the people who made it knew what they were doing, but they still did it from scratch
The original trilogy was made by absolute masters, and it's a shame not all the good bits carried over.
What good stuff was left behind?
Lots of subtle things. Easiest one to explain is the physics changes
You can read this blog series for insight into the development process and clever things they did you would never think to do
https://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/02/02/making-crash-bandicoot-part-1/
oh cool, someone brought up crash 1 and it specifically has the native wall stages
it has this one sample in the song that apparently is the basis for jeh jeh rocket

yes, but it prints so much money lol

Fire... tome?
That's not an item in FFI
Oh. It said FF and you were all talking about FFI
I have played Death Stranding 2 for around five hours and I've already cried twice
What exactly is that game about anyway?
the original or 2 specifically? (I only played 1)
Sure
#1032716748887179434 message
I dunno anything about Death Stranding except it involves creepy looking babies for some reason
Aha. Interesting
the "bridge babies" are a whole thing in that game because they're specifically stillborn babies, who by virtue of never truly becoming alive retain a connection to the other side, which allows them to sense certain things (especially the game's metaphysical enemies) better than any living human or technology can
isn't this early game exposition stuff?
Wouldn't know
BB my beloved
id say you spoiled that for me but i was never gonna play the game anyway
spoilers would be things like ||why your bridge baby is special, and why another character is so interested in it||
Yeah... like princess Beach
is BB a boy or a girl i can't remember
ive watched several videos on the game and its never been explained lol

maybe those videos didn't repeat all the basic mechanics explained in the tutorials? lol
maybe
Yeah it is
Its right on the edge of "oh this is kind of interesting" and "oh the game devs were on some serious fucking drugs"
it is the Kojima game where he was allowed to go full Kojima
I know he put a vtuber in the sequel
(and I reiterate: this is all before it gets weird)
I take it its probably not available on switch
no
but Nintendo worked on the sequel apparently
kinda nuts
Just weird to see Nintendo credited in a ps5 exclusive
The sequel is for now afaik, original is available on PC
maybe they wanted to release it on switch but couldnt for technical reasons
The first game is on pc, PlayStation, and xbox
or its on a temporary exclusivity contract with sony
it's rare for Kojima games to be day 1 on PC
Death Stranding got on PC a long while later as well
Not gonna complain though, one of the few japanese games with a pretty solid PC port performance wise
Decima magic
Yup, this is my dream vehicle
I got N-Sane Trilogy and Robocop
I also checked various simracers' prices during the sale and wow, the DLC policies didn't get better
what are their DLC policies?
pricy, very pricy
if you want a truly complete edition of a game, prepare to pay over €100 for many of them
even ETS2 is like €160 right now if you want everything
Automobilista 2 has the base game for €3.69, and the complete edition will cost you about €75
iRacing looks cheap right now, but the thing is that you need a subscription to play it
the OG Assetto Corsa ultimate edition is usually decently priced, but looking on IsThereAnyDeal, it's still a fair bit more expensive than its lowest point a few years ago
it's probably the best value for money in simracing, since it has a lot of mods but you will need DLC for many of them
I just have BeamNG Drive
when it comes to simracing, I have BeamNG, Project CARS 1/2, DiRT Rally (OG and 2.0)
not many of them support VR well though, Project CARS 2 does a pretty decent job at it
(my simracing setup is not in front of a screen, so I need passable VR support)
Beamng being called a simracer is pretty new to me
I mean "simracer" as in "best played with a wheel" to be fair
ETS2 is not a game where you do racing, but it's best played with a wheel for sure, so I put it in that category as well
Beamng is really fun to mess around in
Depends on how you drive
You can race in a Scania with a load
there are dedicated truck racing games out there too
... Probably harder to race in a truck at Europe
but most ETS2 players don't seem too concerned about setting the fastest times for a given route, it's a chill game for the most part
I suppose ATS is easier since it has wider roads and less complicated turns?
no roundabouts designed to make drivers cringe
I have both games but have mostly played ETS2, although I only have its older map DLCs like Going East and Scandinavia
fekkin hell
you should win if you're tied with second place, nearly all singleplayer racing games work like that
im stuck with really bad routes because i only have the baltic dlc
technically, this means most racing game championships can always be won by being first 50% of the time, and being second the other 50%
yeah, i did
but it came down to the fucking wire
like

I have yet to play a F-Zero game
i say this as someone who actually beat everything but DIamond Cup on Master
like the tracks being simpler in design means the route changes matter more
also i like the Yoshi bike a lot
it's both pratical AND cute!

Flawless Victory. FATALITY.
hey folks, I know this sounds awkward, but I'm thinking of giving another m rated game a try. specifically gta vice city. While it is true I am not a fan of m rated games no matter how much I can't get into them, i think it's important to give one a try once in a while. The chances of me liking this game will be very slim, but who knows. the reason why I am thinking about playing this game is because a mlp parody of it appeared in my youtube recommendations, and it caught my interest. I've played another gta game before, that being san andreas, but i wasn't a fan of it. the vibes of it didn't sit right with me. it just felt way too much for me. my middle brother plays gta iii sometimes since out of the 3d trilogy, it seems to be the least bad. but the vibes of it don't appeal to me either. i like the looks of vice city, so i'd like to give it a try. I'm not really into 80s stuff, but it's more appealing to me than iii and san andreas. Also, I used to have a friend who played vice city a lot in their childhood (they played it since they were 4 years old. thats... concerning) and it influenced their tastes in a lot of stuff, especially music and clothing. commemorating to my former friend is not much of concern to me, but i still felt like bringing it up. So, what do you say, should I give the game a try or not really?
I mean, VC is the most tame out of III and San Andreas
San Andreas is just flat out goofy sometimes, its mrated because you can shoot at people
and even Adults Only at one point due to content that was in the game at launch (tho ultimately unused) that ah... Did ruffle some feathers, despite it being unused
but yeah, still dealing drugs, shooting people, comitting crimes
Yea its one of the beta features they were too lazy to remove
I mean, if it won't be seen why bother
Grand theft auto in Grand theft auto?? Preposterous
San Andreas is worth it for woozy and cj
"i know you blind man but you gotta see this" 😭
You could imagine a police simulator named “Grand Theft Auto” after all
"I gotta tell you something, man.. I'm black, not Chinese." -cj
"I'm blind, carl. Not stupid" -woozy
and i don't think i can mention the name of that minigame without the mods Hammer of Dawning the shit out of me (even if it's fully clothed boinking) but it's probably easy enough to find further info given how infamous it was
All in all, you can easily avoid a lot of those
The map feels larger than it is
VC has none of what SA has other than killing people
San Andreas has Big Smoke making it the best
My favorite San Andreas character is woozy
i'm not a fan of the vibe that san andreas has... i get what they were trying to go for but it doesn't make me feel comfortable
He races good even when he's blind
Hmm, nice bike.
--Tommy Vercetti
by all means, go for it, Vice City is probably the best GTA game if you want the simpler oldschool experience of the 3D universe
none of that RPG stuff that comes with GTA San Andreas onwards
Yup, Vice City is incredibly simple and fun
Horrid missions i HATE the construction drone one
I've gone that far on mobile and i cannot beat it
Why is it timed who the fuck designed this mission
Oh uh its not any worse than any of zero's missions in GTA SA but atleast that one is Optional and doesn't really matter to the main story
I've never failed that misssion a single time, it's just a bit of a chore
in my experience, Vice City is overall easier than GTA III. It's probably the easiest 3D universe game
GTA III has... things like Espresso-2-Go!, S.A.M, Marked Man that are notable difficulty spikes
the lack of bikes also makes some gameplay approaches harder, since you can never shoot in front of you while driving
can't shoot tires or bail out of cars as well
The most difficult missions I've every played is the compulsory flight school
Actually no that was pretty easy
Just hard to gold
Hm. Yea it's Zero's missions, tedious and stupid
GRIS, Steins;Gate, Crypt of the Necrodancer are all 90% off this summer sale
https://steamdb.info/sales/ this lists the highest-rated games that are on sale
Nothing's on sale this summer
Steam sale. An incentive to fill your game list with things you will never play
I see a lot on that list I'd endorse but I think I own most (all?) of what's relevant to me already
ah, now that I can filter by wishlist, a lot of my maybes have steep discounts too
I'll have to think about how much is worth buying when I'm not sure how much of it I'll ever get to
Yeah, a big part of shopping for videogames is coming up with free time predictions
Hmm. Cyberpunk 2077 is on sell. $21. I'm thinking about getting it

the fact that Kojima saying ''look up, a whale!'' doesn't actually let you know what game he could be talking about because that specific imagery shows up in at least two of his games is pretty nuts
what’s the second one
MGSV
Apparently Windows Defender sees A Hat In Time as a threat
It's telling you to be wary of the crows that ask for personal details
PECK
?
havent played Hat in Time myself yet, but as I understand it, "Peck" is an audio sample from the game thats been memed quite a bit
It's basically an in-game variation of "fuck".
So when one of the characters inevitably calls you a "peck neck", they're basically calling you a "fuck head".
Attack surface reduction doesn't imply it's a threat
the mafia's in that game, of course it's labeled as a threat /j

I was thinking of doing a modded run, but that'll have to wait until this new big patch come out, and I see what's compatible
There is this Cyberpsychosis mod I was dying to try out though
Chi-nu in a plane game
if you do buy it, get it with phantom liberty. you will enjoy it.
how many games will I buy on summer sale that will take me years to play
Zero is a good number
That is true
I'm waiting for a complete edition (game + all DLCs) to be below the €20 point personally
it will happen eventually, I expect sometime next year
by that point, the game will probably be in its actual final version too, as it's still getting a patch this year
it did this to dgVoodoo for me, it got rid of the executable 3 times after I restored it
fuck Defender, and I mince my words
That's a good call, honestly.
My backlog is full anyway
I would personally buy cyberpunk at full price. I don't think I did but with how much I love it, I certaily could have
The patch WAS going to be 2 days ago but they delayed it
I can't justify buying games at full price given my backlog, and the fact I prefer buying games once they are fully patched and "definitive"
Out of context game
the icon gives me holo vibes
its the Cover logo, but green
Oh. What game is this, then?
random dating Sim idle game
Luigi's favorite dating sim
he can date by doing absolutely nothing
"Ichiban has never killed anyone."
Rocket Launcher inside a small room? everyone is dead lol
Makes sense yeah. I would say cyberpunk is already complete. Idk what they are doing in new updates.
It isn't known yet. They seem to be implying it's content of some form but no details
There are many game i consider feature complete, but they still produce updates for
Terraria and stardew valley for example
Need some help finding a game i used to play
I remember this ONE level, it was super mario and mario, Luigi, and peach were trapped in a mountain and on top was bowser and he was throwing rocks, you had too dodge it like donkey kong
I remember it was 3D and it was on a 3DS
🤔 was it a party game? could be one of those Super Mario Party ones
Lmao, apparently, Runescape's god of chaos has a tiny temple in the northwesternmost part of the free to play world. Zamorak's Chaos Temple is full of monks who are neutral and allow you to worship at the temple. On a table is a jug full of Wine of Zamorak, an unholy addictive material used in making potions. If you try to grab it, all the monks will attack you, driving you out of the temple or killing you, AND Zamorak will curse you, temporarily lowering your combat skills and dealing damage to you, as well as talking to you in game chat. As a wizard I can telekinetally grab the wine safely, taking minimal damage, and repeat the process every time the wine respawns to make a tidy sum. https://i.imgur.com/lhHRYmf.png
Eventually my magic stat is too low for me to steal wines, or my inventory is full. At which point I can go home and sell the wine
ah wow, that's kinda funny
did it have a yarn aesthetic?
because apart from the old remakes of yoshi games, I can't think of much else that lets you play as yoshi outside the party games
there was the 64 ds remake?
Yes
thats the only 3d 3ds mario game i can think of
ah true ,but I don't think there's a section in that that has Bowser in a donkey kong style level? though it's been a long time so who knows
there were minigames, i dont remember all of them
fair enough, i'll check
@shell shore https://mario.wiki.gallery/images/1/11/SM3DL_Final_Bowser_Part_1_W8.png did it look like this?
this is a DK style mario level from Super Mario 3D Land.
3d land! never played that one

Even chatgpt couldn’t find it
We'll have to resort to the nuclear weapon
@river veldt do you have any idea what this game is?
the description definitely sounds like super mario 64 ds
you play as Yoshi and have to save Mario, Luigi and Wario
and it has a big mountain level
the rest is your imagination filling in the blanks
it sounds familiar but yeah you might be conflating 3D Land and 64 DS
this is going to bother me all day
which one it is? Hopefully Maye can confirm after seeing 64 DS
why am i doing this to myself?

I thought you hadn't even seen the anime; why this gacha?
Why noooot?
Because you can do other things that are more fun and safe
(tbf I've been told this is pretty fair on f2p players by gacha standards, but still)
But I wanted to play Blue Archive but Steam won't let me
Ah, "we have blue archive at home"
Surely there are better ways to consume the content of these gacha games than actually playing it?
for example
If you like the video sorted out by Shoul,
"Like" & "Subscribe" to Shoul. :)
UID: 388102
Server: Taiwan
The story collections, there's a few of em for blue archive
you can see all the story, and not have to risk exposure to gambling mechanics
I mean, if you want to play a game, the play part is probably somewhat part of what you are looking for
sure, I just think it's a poor trade in like, every gacha hahah. The games are predatory by design, and that's not new in gaming, but gacha is worse on top of that with the gambling for actual play pieces
Imagine if for chess you had to gacha to get pieces unlocked on the board, it's nuts
but i like gambling!
Well I can't stop you, but please be careful? it's not a particularly safe hobby.
i'll be oke
are you planning to stick to f2p?
yesh
that probably does address the personal financial safety concern
Gran Turismo 7 did it for cars, so...
anything is possible nowadays
not that I've played any of these myself but I've heard that there's a few gachas like Uma Musume and Ark Knights that are fairly easy to play 100% free
(especially from people who dropped Mihoyo games because they are, uh, not as easy lol)
Aye, that's something I've heard too. I don't think I'll say more lol, I feel like i'd be harping on and the points are obvious anyway.
I try to minimize playing F2P games myself, even though I'm not the kind of person who regularly buys in-game purchases anyway
(I've only ever bought a map stamp for TF2 premium access, and two battle passes in CS:GO - and you could mostly recoup the battle pass investment by selling the items you got)
I'm in a weird limbo with respect to all of these issues because none of the genres which got gacha'd are ones I actually play, so none of the gacha games have any intrinsic appeal to me to be tempted by in the first place
yeah I hear you calinou, I'm kinda unsure whether to get out of F2P games myself, even the ones with "consumer friendly" monetisation.
Like, what the heck do I do with warframe. Game is fun, doesn't have lootboxes or gacha. just pay for the thing you want.
OTOH some of it's MTX costs as much as Valorant skins and the Free to Play path is grindy as hell and sometimes they make it fun and sometimes they don't
And it's kinda spread to non-f2p games too right?
like look at any modern AAA game, they've all got MTX shops and cosmetics you can buy like a f2p game, but without the free path
Especially in any multiplayer sphere
Rainbow 6 Siege went the Counter Strike route, with skins, lootboxes, and a player market to sell skins to each other for in-game currency
fair enough, that game makes a ton of content
and I dearly wish they hadn't made "LLM AI Voice generated Darth Vader"
yeah....
my lack of interest in multiplayer is probably the main concrete reason gacha/mtx has yet to intersect with what I personally play
yeah, that makes sense. Multiplayer has a lot of push to sell skins and make constant money from it's userbase. as well is just being hella profitable
look at fortnites revenue without any lootboxes
it's kinda nuts, and why many games chase it
we got rid of lootboxes but now we have grindy battle passes and cosmetics that are really out of place... we kind of traded one problem with another
multiplayer games have also always been the games that tried to "last forever", while everyone expects a single player game to eventually run out of content and then you move on to another thing unless you're some kind of speedrunner
yeah, engagement farming sucks, but I guess I'll take it over lootboxes hahah
aye, Multiplayer games, the players are the content so to speak. Put 10 people in a map and you'll get infinite possible variations with as simple a setup as Counter Strike
I think that's part of why hero shooters ( along side the selling of skins for heroes) are so effective in the multiplayer space. they have unique tools for the multiplayer arena
and why that genre is so perfect for the parasocial gacha nonsense we started all this with
not that Uma Musume is a "shooter" but these all revolve around having characters with distinct abilities
Why? That was one of the few situations in which Ai was used pretty ethically
People would "hack" it to say all kinds of racist stuff in the lobby
Listen, you don't need to hack Darth Vader to hear racist stuff in a fortnite lobby
It's always a bad day to have ears there
It had some growing pains, it was patched quick enough tho
hmm. I'll have to look into it I guess. It was really unpleasant at the time I stopped playing.
You could mute players, but not darth vader
-# i'm sorry for mentioning gacha
I don't really play the game, but I'm gonna be honest, hearing Darh Vader talk with Hatsune Miku about strategy is funny as fuck
yeah, there's some great clips on youtube and such
I'm mostly concerned about people not getting their work stolen, and Darth Vader, seems like was on the up and up, with the actor having signed the rights for their voice to be used that way consensually.
There are concerns for sure, like, if companies try to push those kind of contracts to people, so hopefully people are able to negotiate so it's not something that VAs are expected to give the rights for in exchange for peanuts
I guess I might as well re-install fortnite lol, I enjoyed the gameplay before, it'll be neat to see a new season of stuff
I'm not sure if I'm too easy to convince or if it's good that I can change my mind about things hahah
Im begging BEGGGING the crk gods
I don’t even wanna use her i just cannot handle not having all the cookies
speaking of being addicted to gacha-
actually i don't know what the fuck cookie run kingdom is
yeah looking it up it's giving me everything BUT what the fuck the gameplay even IS
i DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LORE JUST TELL ME HOW THE FUCK THE GAME WORKS
"gacha" might not be a genre term if every gacha game was required to have an actual game game underneath the gacha part
okay, christ, it's a city builder/sorta idle RPG type game
WAS THAT SO DIFFICULT
-# yes. clearly.
I always skip the cutscenes
And about that city building stuff, i dont do shit lmao
My cookies are homeless
They drink the ocean water and eat the grass

How have I only found this site now, this is awesome
New Halo game will be revealed in October https://bsky.app/profile/culturecrave.co/post/3lstwqkj52s2s
I still find it weird that I basically heard nothing about Infinite and its quality or where it stands as a Halo game
I remember all the fuss about it during the leadup to it but afterwards I just heard nothing, not even anything about the multiplayer
the only thing I remember seeing about Infinite was || all the scenes with the ''new cortana'' which I remember some people were upset about but I thought she was really cute and the only other thing I know about Halo at all is that at like Halo 3 or 4 || || Cortana sacrifices herself because something and that's about as far as I know
||
(is that "nothing" excluding my whining?
)
If you did whine about it then I don't think I remember
Ixrec — 6/13/25, 12:02
Infinite is the least interesting for gameplay. It's still fun, but IMO everything it does well was already done well in 1-5 (especially 3), so it's the only main entry I never felt like replaying. In particular, "open world" just doesn't make sense for Halo. It was never that kind of game.
Ixrec — 6/11/25, 13:11
I was the only one who liked 5's story and I was upset that Infinite basically said "that all got resolved off-screen, don't worry about it, now let's redo a strange mish-mash of plot points from 4 and 5 since none of you remember those right"
I think that covers it
Oh, I thought you meant you talked about it all the way back not just that convo a week or two ago, I do remember that
but even then the fact that that's all you had to say about it kinda proves my point
at least with some of the other Halos people go on and on about how much they like or hate so and so but with Infinite it's like ''oh yeah it came out, it was... fine''
yeah, usually when a game gets regular chatter it's because people are playing it, so even the games people are complaining about are ones still good enough to play (or at least skilled enough at manipulating you that you haven't broken free yet)

FAQ
▶▶▶The game doesn't start, i get a black screen.
You need sys_modules for this game, don't ask (of say) where to get them (it's piracy)...
ooh what is ShadPS4? I can see it's an emulator, but like is it a new one?
PS4 emulator, it already runs Bloodborne from start to finish
Gravity Rush I think is also playable right now?
Driveclub is a highly sought-after game, it's Sony's attempt at a Forza (Horizon) killer
it was a commercial failure, but it's remembered for its very good graphics by 2013 standards
ah yeah
and now forza is on playstation too
ah damn, looks like Omega Collection Wipeout doesn't even boot on NVIDA GPUs
compatibility varies a lot across platforms right now, more so than any other emulator I know
only 5 games are reported to be playable on macOS
I miss this game. I know you can still play it offline but it was a good game
Kaz, we got weebs in motherbase
(fun fact that reminds me that canonically in the MGS universe Kaz is actually a pioneer of idol culture and one of the first idol managers considering he fully wrote Koi no Yokushiryoku and had Paz sing and perform it at a motherbase event in like 1974)
if you're still up, I can install it and try out the game. Never played before
I have it on EGS but I think it's cross-play?
it is cross play!
esg will make you go through EA, and then i recommend only lauching through EA
egs launching ea then bfII does some wonky stuff sometimes
I use Heroic anyway, I've never installed the actual EGS app
i'm going to bed now, feeling sick, i think i ate something expired
but i'm playing it basically everyday so tomorrow let's go if you're up!!
it's very well optimized so i think you can go for ultra everything
i can go full ultra on a gtx 970 4g and an i7 8x
probably, I target 4K 225 FPS though 😛
but I can do that just fine on Forza Horizon 4, for instance
i do 144fps 1080p
iirc you got a beast pc
i'm sure it'll be more than capable of handling it
when I was on the Corporate Clash pride parade, I went down to 12-13 FPS due to the sheer single-threaded CPU load
it turns out the game is not particularly designed to draw 200+ toons at once
also bf II has a cool gamemode that can theoritically go forever until a team win
and that's p cool
kind of like Foxhole, I guess?
i don't know about it but maybe
you start on the ground, if you win the ground assault you get to attack the enemy spaceship
to win you have to destroy their reactor cores
if you don't do it in the available time, you go back to the ground
and you can go between the two teams ships for as long as it takes
the space battles also are very good
the coop modes, the different pvp gamemodes etc
good game
well, looks like it can't work with Heroic anymore due to EA app updates that broke its integration: https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/4563
I guess I'll need to install the full-blown EGS, which I wanted to avoid
yeah i don't even launch it through egs but you still need it
and that sucks
it's on steam for 5 bucks rn though i think
but still will gotrhough EA
the game is hard-capped to 200 FPS 😢
https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/12h2byj/i_cant_increase_my_fps_cap_in_the_console_or_in/
it's the Doom 2016 curse
it's why you shouldn't have hard FPS caps, gamers from the future will suffer from it
I know it's probably an important issue for those who push their computers to the limit and have high end systems and all, but as someone who grew up most of their life playing old games on old computers and playing any ''modern'' game (any game released ~2010) at the absolute lowest settings just to get a stable 25-30fps it always amuses me when I see people talking online and sometimes complaining about a game ''only'' going up to 1440p resolution or ''only'' going up to 120fps or something
I remember the olden days when 60 fps was considered good enough
Doom 2016 is a weird game because when i play it the fan goes absolutely insane on my Steam Deck but when i play Eternal i can barely hear it
I've been playing MGSV which seems to be capped at 1080p 60fps and honestly I'm delighted I can play it with everything maxed out and with a completely stable 60fps all the time, but again maybe it's because all my life I've been used to not getting the chance to do that
and to be fair MGSV is a crazy well optimized game, I hear Death Stranding 2 is too
MGSV is capped at 60 FPS by default, you can mod it but it will break grenades (they are stuck in the air when you throw them)
it's too bad because everything else is flawless, and MGS' movement is sublime at high framerates
Which is a funny comparison to bring up, because I've seen a lot of gamers upset that DS2 apparently looks bad but it's really just angry twitter people using screenshots of distant mountains to make the game look bad for some weird reason
the way the animation and camera work is done just becomes even better
DS2 isn't on PC yet, we'll know more about how it works under the hood once it gets a PC port
Peace Walker has a similar issue when you mod it to play at 60fps or higher, at least on the PSP, where grenades will actually jump way further as well as the entire game basically running at twice the speed the whole time
it's on the Decima engine like the first game (and like Horizon), that's all we know
It's not but I just heard that it runs extremely well and it also looks incredible, which is pretty much exactly what they did back in 2014 with MGSV, that game was absolute insanity
I still fully believe games don't really need to look any better than that
anyway, I got everything up and running
me in 2006: This is as good as graphics are gonna get.
me in 2010: This is as good as graphics are gonna get.
me in 2016: This is as good as graphics are gonna get.
me in 2020: This is as good as graphics are gonna get.
the cycle continues 😛
Yeaaah but I do really think we're getting there now though, especially after a game like GTA 6 comes out and it sets a completely new bar for any games made after
But I wasn't exactly saying this is as good as graphics are gonna get, I'm just saying I genuinely believe games don't need to look any better than what most games achieved already in like 2018, I just fundamentally disagree that resources and time need to be spent (or wasted) on trying to get fancier rather than on other more important stuff when it comes to games, but I know that's not the way it's gonna go
that said I'll accept fancier mocap tech like what DS2 is doing, some of these expressions and physics stuff is uncannily good, or the scrunchy noses from the trailer
I just am fine with not having the maximum poly count or the highest res 8k textures on everything (at least let me choose to install those separately)
if you're in the game right now I could join your game for a round or two
I gotta go for now, but maybe tomorrow (so we can also have Yanis)
also, this is still quite a good-looking game for its time, Tatooine at night with HDR is pretty striking
it could have better antialiasing (DLAA would be ideal for my use case) but it's not too bad
Which is why I say what I say, Battlefront 2 is another game where I look at it and I just think ''games could stay like this forever and I'd be more than fine with that'', it helps that it also actually runs really good
I thought I'd be pushing it with putting everything on max for this game but it actually still runs perfectly fine for me
https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/500576552635859540 more advanced performance monitors than just an FPS counter
It's good if you're a Resident Evil fan specifically a classic Resident Evil fan
for anybody else, I would say eh, if 7 bucks is money you're fine parting with and you're willing to go into it and see if you like it sure
I really enjoy Resident Evil, so I decided to buy it
If you're already pretty into, and I mean pretty into RE then it can be a pretty good time, but it's always been a game that went under the radar and people never seemed to fully like for valid reasons, since it tries to do things a bit differently and it doesn't always quite hits the mark, but it has enough redeemable qualities that there are people out there that still love the game despite the questionable design choices and frustrating mechanics
When the game physics start to break at above 30 fps
And the in game fps cap is either 30 or nothing making an unplayable mess
Doom 1 on ms dos had a 35 fps cap
gamers when doom 1 only gets 1000 fps on their rtx 5090
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vf7tECBofI this is why i love Pot
The best round I've had vs Baiken so far...HPB Tether T.O.D combo...YES

Having played Zero from start to finish, it's a mixed bag. Story's pretty dumb/whatever, but the gameplay can be as fun as any other RE if you're prepared for the problems.
The opening Train area is pretty great, to the point that on sale I'd say it's worth buying even if you just play that part and then drop it.
Most of the issues are with how the game's "two controllable characters" work. Unfortunately there is no shared inventory, each character's inventory is quite small, switching mid-combat is impractical, the AI can't be relied on for shooting efficiently, and no ender chests like in most REs. So (post-Train) in practice the system basically demands you leave all your extra items on the foyer floor, then play as one character the whole time with the other being a pack mule. Until specific parts of the game where you're forced to play as one or the other.
The biggest problem is the few places when you're forced to play as only one character without any prior warning or way back to give you a chance to shuffle around inventory items, potentially losing access to half your weapons/ammo, which post-Train can effectively be a softlock. So you're gonna want to be very paranoid about saves, or regularly talk to someone who knows where these points are.
they did a great job at it, I think they are actually breaking new ground here
I really do not like having to control two characters in RE0
iirc only Rebecca can mix herbs so I mostly played as her when given the choice
I was having fun with the game untill I had to start controlling two characters
pack mule strats ftw
The Mana has Escalated.
ugh, why do I suck at anti gravity racers. It's such a cool genre, but when I play it i'm rebounding into walls, missing item usage, and just going slow.
Maybe this s another "Fighting Game" genre for me.
maybe, I've noticed I tend to adapt to that kind of non-euclidean stuff better than some people
if I liked racing games more in the first place I'd probably click with the anti-grav kind
in fact I have the fighting game problem even in non-fighting games; some Igavanias (including Bloodstained: RotN) have fighting game-like combo moves which I can't execute reliably enough to use in practice
yeah fair enough
Motion Inputs can be a barrier, though the utility they bring can be cool too
my impression was that the vast majority of motion controls have traditional button/key equivalents that are just better (or would be if implemented properly)
with the main exception being point-at-screen aiming
hmm... that's, not what I meant
Motion Inputs as in Quarter Circles, DragonPunch motions, etc
let me find some notation, I don't have it on hand
this sort of stuff
oooh
yeah that's the kind of thing RotN wanted me to do and it just doesn't work reliably when I try it
aye! that's part of the point, at least in fighting games. I'm less confident about keeping it as a main enabler in non-competitive games
It can be funny secret input stuff, but it can also just be a pointless barrier
it is hard for me to judge since I've never put in the time to break through the barrier
but it's also really easy to tell that it is a significant reason why I dismissed these entire genres as not for me back when I was new to gaming and trying all the genres I heard of
that's understandable. I can explain some of why I like their existance in fighting games if that'd be of interest, even though I've not broken that barrier myself, at least not to the level of consistent playing with them
sure
so, where to begin.
- Many different moves from limited buttons. This is arguably the fundemental use of motion inputs. With a directional input ( historically an arcade stick) and as few as 2 buttons you can give a character a ton of moves.
yeah, it's pretty easy to see why it was necessary in the days of arcade cabinets, and maybe easier to execute with an actual arcade stick
mhm!
- Skill expression inside the game system under high pressure. This is harder for me to explain, but the skill ceiling for competive games with motion inputs let's people do wild stuff, and if the ceiling is high enough, even have unique styles with the same characters.
It's easier in training mode to pull a perfect combo, but pulling it off at a tournament against an opponent is a different boardgame
there's even a like, "push-pull" aspect to competing with them
Do you go for the hard stuff to optimise damage? or take easier buttons inorder to react faster?
Anti Airs are the classic version of this in Street Fighter
Dragon Punch motions give you invuln, high covering anti-airs
but a Crouching HP will also anti-air in a pinch
They beat more options with the DP, but you can whiff the input, or not input fast enough
It's why someone like Daigo and other pro's get well known for "great execution"
You can know all the right counters, but you've got to be able to input them.
And there's weirder stuff too
Like Option Selects
err, how to explain... TL:DR if you put a certain set of inputs into the buffer of say, Streetfighter, you get different moves based on what the opponent does, getting the right option depending on what came out.
An option select is basically when a player inputs commands (often times for multiple moves) and the output is different depending on the priority of each move given in the current situation.
The most commonly used option select is a crouch tech option select. You hold down + back and press lp + lk in sync with the opponents attacks. If they attack, no move comes out because you will be in block stun. If they do nothing, a lk will come out since lk takes priority over lp. If they throw, you will tech the throw.
-from a reddit post
it's really really high level stuff, that makes watching pro FGC players so fun to watch
I'm sure someone more involved could say more here, but that's about the extent I can easily explain for 2.
that's probably as far as I can get in a few minutes anyway
I had to stop and think to figure out that lp/k probably mean low punch/kick
close enough!
lol
- You can balance characters through their inputs.
Guile vs Ryu is the usual example
To "flash kick" a guile has to be holding down or down back (I think). This means that on defence, they can have it charged and ready to go, but on offence, they lose access to it as to move forward, you can't hold down or down back.
Super moves fall into this too
Usually requiring 2 sequential motion inputs
like Quarter Circle Forward +Quarter Circle Forward --> Punch
It takes more time to input, so it can be slower than other moves.
You can get really wacky with this
like Guilty Gear Strives Half Circle inputs for Behemoth Typhoon... for the big guy with the alien in a coffin
can't recall his name
It's a strong move, but you'll be slower to get it out
TL:DR, influence play patterns by what moves require what inputs to use.
That's sort of the Big 3 for me, and there are plenty of Fighting Games that don't require motion inputs but capture much of the same complexity
yeah this all makes sense to me in a multiplayer context
I guess I'm used to most of the same goals being achieved in single player games with cooldowns/charges/resources, or with simpler forms of the overlapping/faraway inputs technique
like in Nine Sols, there's an insane amount of skill expression in the final fight because almost everything in your toolkit is a valid way of dodging and/or punishing most boss attacks, but many are easier or harder than others, which is where you get things like the "level 0" version of that fight being so much fun to practice because it's not just same fight no mistakes, it forces me to dodge and attack in completely different ways than I usually do
that sounds like a lot of fun to practice/execute
my favorite example of that is probably Eigong's "crimson slam"
in a normal playthrough you'll probably use the Unbounded Counter / superparry move to just completely negate it and get some easy damage after she's stunned (and the fight's plenty hard for a new player even with this option), since the wind-up is nice and long
but on level 0, you simply don't have UC, so either you run away from it entirely, or you have to practice this sequence of moves where as she slams down her sword, you dodge under her, then jump, then attack the back of her head, and if you get the timing wrong then her sword or the fire generated by it will hurt you
it's definitely closer to Hollow Knight than a typical Metroid or a Castelvania
although a lot of people prefer Nine Sols specifically because the combat is more complex / typically has more options than in Hollow Knight
(standing on the shoulders of giants and such)
that's fair, I'll have to look into it once I get through Hollow knight
or, if I get through hollow knight lmao
meanwhile a lot of people prefer Hollow Knight because it's one of the most non-linear metroidvanias, so easy to get lost in and yet (unlike seemingly every Igavania
) difficult to get truly stuck with nowhere left to explore
so, the term "Igavania" refers to Koji Igarashi, who was heavily involved in many Castlevanias and (after Konami stopped being a video game company) the Bloodstaineds
as a genre term it's basically "the Castlevania side of metroidvanias", since you can't really say that "Bloodstained is a Castlevania"
Ah I see, that makes a weird kind of sense
fwiw I currently see metroidvanias as having roughly three subgenres; the Metroid-likes, the Igavanias, and the modern post-Hollow Knight/Dark Souls ones
but afaict "Igaavnia" is the only one of the three that has a name at all
back when Metroids and (post-SotN) Castlevanias were most of the genre, yeah
I'm sure fans of other genres have a similar tree of microgenres or at least design tropes in their head
like there's probably some huge differences between the 80s and 90s "D&D but digital" CRPGs, and the Larian-era(???) CRPG revivals that I am completely unable to articulate
and I don't even know if there's a chunk in between or if the genre was truly 100% dead in the middle lol
I know fighting games have the "platform fighters" subgenre, and there's also that distinction between fully 2D ones and the ones where you can sidestep along the z-axis so it's sorta 3d?
aye, that makes sense to me. RTS was quieter for a long while too, though more in the sense of fewer big releases than being truly devoid
aye it's true with fighters, though there are subdivisions used commonly under them too
but since I'm really into metroidvanias I can point at specific things, like how almost all of my favorite ones since HK/DS have adopted a Souls-like bonfire and estus flask system, as well as an HK-like charm system
It was not wholly dead, you had Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2 in the early 2000s. There were a few bridge RPGs like Wasteland 2 or the Pathfinder games between the 1990s and D:OS II, too.
oh yeah the early kickstarter era
heh, I kickstarted a few RPG books, for 5E DND, but i never really got them to the table
I would have loved to back some boardgames, but I saw so many examples go poorly that I'm thoroughly scared off
Thanks for the conversation around these topics btw, it's been nice.
another fun example might be that almost all of my favorite metroidvanias since HK/DS have primarily melee combat (traditionally, that'd be "the Castlevania side" of the genre) but also have very high mobility like i-frame dodges/rolls and air dashes (traditionally, "the Metroid side")
in fact I can't think of one before Hollow Knight which has both of those
now that you mention it, I can't think of a segment in an Igavania where the platforming itself was a major part of the challenge (unlike e.g. HK's White Palace), usually even something like double jump or literal flight is "just" a progression gate
hmm, would the clockwork towers count? though i guess that's more enemy spam than precise platforming
yeah, avoiding medusa heads is as close as it gets
honestly "is there a clock tower with tiny floating enemies" is one of the easiest litmus tests for whether a metroidvania is an Igavania
hahah fair enough
Bloodstained: RotN managed to up the ante by doing a 2.5D clock tower where you run around the half-broken spiral ramp along the outside of it
oh nice, that's cool
(and then it had a whole second tower that was secretly a boss arena: #1032716748887179434 message )

I should really finish that, I'm literally one boss away from credits
as much as I prefer the Metroid-likes and the HK-likes, RotN is easily the best Igavania I've tried so far, just a straight upgrade from Aria of Sorrow
nice nice, go for it! It'll feel nice to have it squared away

Take fourteen unstringed emerald amulets I made earlier, and fourteen balls of wool, make fourteen proper emerald amulets. Once all one thousand are made sell them on the grand exchange
Gonna take a while for them all to sell at that price https://i.imgur.com/KHQMHSN.png
It's funny now that I think about it Revelations 2 makes controlling two characters actually pretty fun to do and cool
The revelation games are ones I would totally recommend if they're dirt cheap on sale right now, both of them are great games, I got both like two sales ago for basically pocket change
Why am I Canadian?
It's Canada day
Ah
do we get to receive free maple syrup
Why does Byleth leave her stomach exposed?
You and I know the answer to this
maybe
but i wanted to point it out
unrealistic eye candy armor may be an omnipresent trope, but I still find it immersion-breaking
still better than Corrin not wearing shoes at all
Tbf I think it has to do with their curse also affecting their feet, rendering shoes a pointless investment
that sounds more like a solution looking for a problem
I mean you saw what happens to their hands and feet when they go dragon mode
@fresh bane @blissful sand you around for Battlefront 2?
Shi I just stopped playing
Spilled ice tea on my PC and lost the will to play for tonight 😔
I could join you for a game or two if you're still playing
sure, I'll be there in 5 minutes. In the meantime, you can add Calinou1 on EA
I've accepted the invite
now how does it work? It seems I'm the party leader
alright, let me know if you're done customizing your characters and all that
It should be me, I invited you, I guess we'll see once I pick a gamemode I never did this before
alright
I haven't done any character customization, I'm still brand new
so feel free to start searching a game
I have little experience playing Battlefield-style games in general, all I know is that it's a bit like TF2 but on a larger scale
and you have abilities like Overwatch, I noticed
You probably won't have much to do still because you start unlocking starting at lvl 2 so maybe after we play a round or two but you can pick some skins if you bought the celebration edition
So I'm probably gonna go with Supremacy for the sake of simplicity, it's basically capture command posts style gameplay, there's galactic assault but that's all about going through various objectives and I feel like supremacy is probably better as a simple gamemode to just sort of get used to playing first
Yeah I'm looking for a game again, it must be freaking out because we're nowhere close to each other and it doesn't know which server to pick from
probably, I remember reading somewhere that I should change my matchmaking region
the ping site in the EA account settings
You can do that?
I suppose you're on the Brazil one? I can switch to that one
or we can use both Virginia, so latency is not as bad on my end
well we found a match apparently
did you crash? I don't see you anymore
Yeah I got disconnected for a second there I'm joining again though
there's a guy with force lightning who is basically unkillable 😢
Palpatine lol yeah once you get enough points you can play a hero
we got destroyed but it's fun
So if you want you can do the server switch thing but I don't know if it's gonna be too much of a problem
I got many kills by playing Chewbacca and camping a point, using abilities randomly
You should be able to customize some characters now probably
yeah I've changed it to Virginia
this is the second time I blast a Grevious with a rocket launcher and he's resistant to it
they're pretty tough especially if they got any cards that maximize their health or health regeneration
but luckily Grievous can't block blaster fire
Wow I'm actually kinda tempted to update warzone again and buy the beavis and butthead tiers lol
I did a bit better in tihs one (8th out of 20), still figuring out what ability does what
F1 has helpful descriptions but you need to test them in practice to see what they're worth 😛
@fresh bane did you crash?
got dc'd I'm on queue to join the server again
TIL trying to melee the generator kills you

gg, first game won 🙂
also, I found that on this map, you can capture some of the points by standing on the roof
So we can also go for galactic assault if you want, which is less about the constant tug and pull of command post capturing and more about single objectives each team has to do if you want
oh you have a green reticle
Oh you joined another game cause we got separated
I'll try to join your game
yeah
oh you have a green reticle
it's a shame you can't make the crosshair smaller, I find it too large
I do too, but the rifles are kind of not super accurate anyways so I find it weirdly helps
I can drop out of this game if you want to do another mode
eh only if you want it's not necessary, I'm joining your game already
ah, I didn't understand you needed to hold G to board
I was just standing there below the vehicle
ggs! I'll call it a night
yeah those went a bit longer
I did pretty well on this one, 3rd or 4th on our team's scoreboard
my strategy was to keep all the points to respawn as enforcer all the time during the final phases
if you get your ship boarded and fend the enemy off you go back to the ground and do it again
so those can go pretty long lol
after playing for a bit you get a specific card that gives you more points during the match
so you can pick heroes and different classes more often
but I like the default classes
replaying RE2R with this mod is hurting me, because it fits so well and it plays so good, the more I play like this the more mad I get that this isn't the way it was by default
actually getting my hands on this thing and fiddling around with the settings I gotta say I'm really happy and I'm super into all the options this gives you too, it's very nice
I just played around with the camera settings because I like a semi-fixed camera system but it also lets you tweak around the controls and the aiming to your liking, you can even set the option to disable the fixed camera while aiming if you don't want the fixed camera auto-aim or manual aim which is really really cool
in an ideal world they would offer this as an option officially, maybe as a neat unlockable after finishing the game, although as much as I really want that to be I also realize that designing an experience around either fixed camera or third person and slapping the other one on top later doesn't quite exactly work perfectly, but at this point I'll take a slapped on fixed camera option regardless, but I doubt that would happen anytime soon
I guess this will have to make do for now
I have discovered something interesting https://i.imgur.com/aACelOB.png
Apparently this NPC was the host of the 2017, 2022, 2023, and 2024 pride events
He gives you this outfit https://i.imgur.com/9689JuP.png
Apparently the current CEO is a coward who cancelled this year's, overruling lower staff's desire
damn and here I thought I couldn't get this to be any more perfect
Ngl, I don't like gacha games, but this art style is suuuuper adorable
Yeah it is. Great character designs and theyre frickin COOKIE

Crosscode is one of my favorite games of all time
Atlyss mentioned!!
EA launcher sucks so much oh my god
I got a new drive
And you can't change a game file's location
I gotta download the whole ass game again
I found a solution on reddit actually
id know im in a playtest for a game
- Copy/move application to desired install location (ensure you have twice the file size available on harddrive as EA App will allocate space again.
- Enter settings within EA App (click profile icon) - downloads - change install pathway to exact location of the game.
- Download game and ensure file pathway is correct.
- EA App will show pr...
not tested on my end
I was looking for a way to open the game's installation folder and found that video by chance
I just started doing it again

EA is the worst launcher
How is steam so old with so few updates better than any recent launcher with big updates every months
EA discontinued the origin launcher for their EA launcher just to make it worse when it was already trash 😭
Steam updates more than most other launchers
Are you not paying attention when I talk about new features they add?
Nice selection
I would agree that Steam having had like 20 years to develop and mature is like, the main edge it has over the competition.
That said, EA launchers are especially shit even compared to more recent competition
Also, I like steam, but they should really knock off with facilitating child gambling in their games
lol yeah, CS 2 being like, the prime example
It's especially that it's actual gambling and not like, gamgling-like mechanics that makes it especially bad even for the low low standard of the industry
yeah... T_T. None of the regulators seem to care though, despite people suggesting, hey, shouldn't we like, do somethign abotu that
To be fair, it's complicated.
And precedent probably works in their favour legally speaking, that said they should like...stop
Regardless of the legality of it
#stopkillinggames https://www.stopkillinggames.com/
EU and UK folks there are two petitions to sign up for to maybe have something changed about games you already owned being removed from the market and shut down completely

Papoutsis is currently leading Striking Distance Studios, the team behind The Callisto Protocol, as Chief Executive Officer.
Oh no
Hello gaymers and gamers alike, is persona 5 worth picking up?
if you can tolerate 10 hours of tutorials yeah i think so
it clearly wasn't for me but people enjoy it for a reason
yeah, it's one of those long JRPGs that expects a big upfront commitment to get the most of out of it
(I watched someone else play through it so I got to see the story)
Call of Duty is just Fortnite now
competition breeds imitation
