Ravenfield is fun
Holy shit I remember playing that a few years ago on my own !!!
It seems way more advance now

found an abandoned town and as soon as i got off my horse he bolted
surely there's nothing alarming here !
i didnt expect exit the gungeon to make me sad of all thigns
not even through the gameplay, just the enviroment and character interactions
beat the glocktopus as well
its fun but im kinda dissapointed by it in some ways, like either through just rooms/bosses not being hard enough or through the sheer ridiculousness of builds they let you make the game is nowhere near as difficult as the first one,so unless it has some new version of bullet hell i dont think theres much else to do that would be more challenging
So apparently The Crew 2 can be bought for a whole single dollar, I’ll probably get it considering I beta tested the game before it launched… but then forgot about it lmao. Did had fun tho.
Shit, that ain't a bad price
wow this character is busted
When i finally manage to get into Deadlock, ill be playing Shiv
Everything about him looks really fun
If you want an invite just ask I think I can get you in
It's still super unfinished but it's fun the core stuff is there
Had some crashes myself due to updates and drivers
had to cap the frames at 60 so my pc wouldn't start burning but hey other than that the game's pretty darn fun especially for moba players
Ive had 3 other people invite me, i declined the first one cuz i was being a dumb hater
And im hoping it didnt lock me out permanently

Hey does anybody wanna play overwatch with me ?

Oh I'm gold 3 and what do you mean by my region ? Like, where I live ?
I'm in europe
So are you in ?
yeah we could try some time, not in overwatch rn cuz playing other stuff but ill let you know if we get on
Alright epic, just ping me whenever you want and I'm tell you if I'm available or not :D
god the hover jump makes rocketless Pinata VIllage SO MUCH EASIER (Mario Eclipse, the same guys who made Mario Sunburn)
and it didn't record FUCK
i'm not doing it again for a recording, take my word that I can do it
Eclipse sounds great, haven't started it yet
1982 to 2003 = 21 years
2003 to 2024 = 21 years

"hey can i copy your homework?"
"sure, just make sure it's not too obvious"
Ehhh, a PvE roguelike deckbuilder and a PvP 1v1 card game are different enough
Plus in Lost Branch of Legend you start with 5 mana
so it's close enough
They are different enough that the numbers shouldn't be the same
i ain't a dev shrug
at least the former card is more useful since Cirno has Teammate cards that benefit from being kept in hand.
So more hand space means more Teammates without overfilling your hand
‘BORDERLANDS’ ends its theatrical run with $31M.

i really love the look of old retro machines
its my dream to collect retro machines and make emulators for them lol
Would you like a tactical riot shield with that?
enjoy the loss, bitchford!

It's not showing sale price in the embed...
yeah it do
Seems like there is an exploit or something
Or terribly unbalanced
If that many people complain.
I guess Proton was just not good enough for this title or something.
To install this on non-Windows machines, you need WINE… and then need to install the patches… and then you can use the open source engine.
Its so hacky, I hope one day they can just extract the assets and diss out the weird wine requirement.
Fighting games having a core issue that losing isn't fun?
or is it more, you could get locked out completely easier in old fighting games?
idk. It's not like Sf6 has better anti-lockout mechanics does it?
and it's super popular
I don't know if I'd say any of that, Marvel just like 3rd Strike happens to be one of if not the biggest fighting game for decades so there's a lot of people who are extremely experienced and it could easily result in you jumping into matches being basically unable to play because everyone is so much better, but it had a huge publicity surrounding it so I'm willing to bet enough new people are jumping in there that it's not that big of a problem
Justin Wong just so happened to be playing a lot since it released and apparently beating up a lot of people
yeah, but no one has the MMR setup atm. It's a chaos mix of experienced and new players till ladder sorts itself out
I still don't know if what i said is or isn't a factor.
I picked up tekken, but I never play online because the one time I tried i went 0-10 and didn't manage to do anything. Labbing is fun and all, and fighting the AI is fun enough for me, but I can't see myself going back into T7 online anytime soon
Just seems pointless at my skill level
I know what I need to play again
The last time I played it it was in a win XP VMware VM. It worked ok. Not great
It's only pointless if you personally don't enjoy the experience, at that point why play a game that just isn't fun
But being bad is a part of the experience for fighting games, more so than any other genre, I put actual hundreds of hours into multiple different fighting games over the years and I kind of don't suck at them anymore
That's the biggest roadblock for a lot of players more than anything, it's a genre that takes time to get into, unless you have a local scene or friends to play with, going directly into online as a newbie is going to be rough in the beginning
I wish I could get into fighting games without getting so frustrated as to why my internet decided to no register my super as a hit to the enemy because haha latency. Or a funny hitbox moment that shoulda hit, or a player who clearly is doing some weird frame perfect blocks and can't seem to hit it unless you like... by miracle can read the attacks in the milliseconds.
find a discord and matchmake there, you can find players of your skill or just ask someone to go easier
Like that's just overwhelming and anxious.
At that point I rather just play something else that isn't that.
There's a lot that can go into a fighting game match at higher levels, that's why it's always better to start with fighting games by playing locally and or with friends
well I have neither
lol
Most of my friends don't touch fighting games for the same reasons.
When you're playing with people who are at your level the games become way more fun, unless you have the drive and the motivation to actually get better because you like the game or you just want to improve, then it will just be frustrating because even as a good player once you start matching with people who know what they're doing it's going to be losses for a long time before you start getting wins
It's really not, even smaller fighting games have active communities, it just takes going out of your way to look for them and actively engage with them, fighting games have some of the most impressively active communities even games you wouldn't think of, the one I can think of off the top of my head is Clash of Ninja/Gekitou Ninja Taisen which still has active tournaments organized through discord servers I think, so there's definitely options even if you don't have any friends locally, it just takes organizing and looking for
Sure, jumping into a fighting game online is always gonna be way more convenient and easy and fast, but again the catch is that you're probably gonna be losing a lot unless the matchmaking is super good at finding people on your exact same level
Going looking where?
???
I mean if you feel comfortable crashing some randos' house idk.
All I know is that it'd be quite a few miles to find someone who'd be interested.
And even then, I rather save gas or save money from transportation.
As to online, well... that's usually the solution.
Lol not locally, Discord made it easier for these communities to have places to get together and organize tournaments or find players, you can pretty much look up any fighting game old or new and you'll definitely find a discord server for it with people actively engaging whether it's a small or big group
For now yeah I guess? I just don't like to waste someone's time if my skill is as good as a trashcan.
And besides, they might be busy and could be rude to ask.
But idk, typically the experience is getting ignored upon a request.
I just wish TFH could return.

Like no point in learning a game that is clearly left in a busted situation.
There is no skill rank mode?
that's a good point, I'll uninstall it.
Making that one dollar purchase feel worth it.
The fact that random players will see a car with this written on will be the icing on the cake.
i did the thing
i was helping my dad out with a boss fight in wukong black myth and i was wondering what was the purpose of perfect parry
when i figured it out i was like omg amazing
Eclipse's secret levels make me want to commit crimes
im not supposed to do platforming in complete darkness here am i?
That the first or second game?
1st
aw man i saved a stagecoach guy from getting robbed and he said i could have whatever's in the lockbox but it's locked
So i was playing thief the black parade and i needed to go one rich guy s mansion to steal some precious vase with diamonds , as i was running away from guard that spotted me i jumped from the window on the gargoyle in hope of jumping to the another window when i turned around THIS THING was just starring at me
It is just a statue but man was i spooked

where do i get a horse brushie 🤔
the most fun part of Discord fighters is when you have no idea what's the skill level of a player and they can either be a newbie or a demigod
that's my Project+ netplay experience so far, but most players I've played are actually relatively close to my skill level, surprisingly
Unless it's a tournament I'm willing to bet Discord fighter players are newbies or have decent skills, if the game is available on something like fightcade then most of the sweaty players are probably there instead
Critter Cove HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED INTO EARLY ACCESS!
I'm sure we'll have much more to say in the coming weeks but for now, thank you so much for the support, sharing and kind words.
Now, back to work, Early Access and all that. 💪
So this is apparently like Animal Crossing, except you're an animal too
ignore the audio I was just listening to youtube while practicing

i love how many animals you can pet in rdr2 :3
i love petting the doggos and horsies
There's like sixty games with that description
Can you list a few examples?

There's way more games than that, but I don't maintain a list of them nor am I interested much in the genre
which wavywebsurf video is that?
Flitter that's crazy impressive
Thanks
I don’t think there was a single one that made me say “that is clearly more animal crossing” until the very last dishonorable one.
They all seem to pull and put things that don’t seem to interest me.
A Short Hike also isn’t really animal crossing, its pretty linear and while has side activities… its not animal crossing.
Maybe the first one is? But they all look more like Farming simulators.
You're free to think what you like, but I associate all of them in my mind with Animal Crossing
For me personally, Animal Crossing is less about the specific mechanics and more about the mood it elicits
Honestly they look like Stardew Valley, and I don’t like Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley is an Animal Crossing
But yeah, the campy feel I get.
I don’t exactly remember being forced to prioritize crops over me talking to villagers.
Only reason I didn't include Stardew Valley is it doesn't have enough animals
I just use a mod that removes the time limit from Stardew Valley so I can take my time
In practice the time limit doesn't really matter, and even if you fuck around all day every day it'll be fine, but just having it is stressful
I found it stressful because I kept missing all of the ‘good stuff’ because I was focused on getting money.
And my energy level kept draining super fast.
So I never exited the farming.
Then an entire year passed and I realized that I messed up a lot that couldn’t fix anymore, and I stopped playing.
Like what? There's nothing missable in the game
If a year passes, just do what you want next year
I think there is a few things when it comes to characters and events, but I don’t recall what exactly. Tbh, I need to give it another shot. I was just extremely frustrated never getting anywhere.
This is the mod I used https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/169
This one also seems neat but less configurable https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/19027
Like Cult of the Lamb clicked super well because it gave you the option to grow the cult and then maybe fight other cultists whenever you feel like doing. Of course the game intentionally pushes you to keep moving forward but as long as you play it right, it won’t trash you. I guess Stardew Valley feels terrible because I never feel any satisfaction of doing anything… idk
Sorry I’m rambling now.
That's fair
The characters do kinda suck
I will give it a shot at some point again.
Yeah
Like none of the characters interest me.
They are all just… there?
I don't remember the original but this was his true crime compilation from 8 months ago
his voice is great in the background
ok 1 more and good night
im so fucking close to 100%'ing rayman legends but i really dont wanna do this part
its so repetitive and that usually wouldnt be an issue but i have so many other games that i want to play instead
Let's see if my computer can run The Pathless
Yo FPS above 20
Can't turn off anti aliasing
After cranking the settings as low as possible I'm getting 45 FPS
Masterful PS2 style graphics
A Short Hike is not an Animal Crossing because it has actual gameplay /hides
Animal Crossing has more gameplay than A Short Hike. It's just unfortunately hidden between lots and lots of talking and slowly walking around
the walking around and talking is the fun part though
I would like it more if I can only have my favorite villagers in town
yeah but it's funny if you have a villager you absolutely hate
No uggos, no Hippaux, no Eugene
aw how could you hate Eugene
I can hate on villagers that look nice, like Raymond or Marshal
i don't like Raymond either idk why everyone went cuckoo for him
1- He has heterochromia and glasses
2- Looks handsome and nerdy
3- Good style
4- Cat
Certainly better than https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Elise
Fashion hobby
No fashion sense
my favorite villager is Cyrano
I suppose there's no accounting for taste
wow
i miss his sunset tee
they gave him a karate uniform in New Horizons and i don't like it as much
He is a reference to Kagoshima prefecture
Kagoshima Prefecture (鹿児島県, Kagoshima-ken) is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands. Kagoshima Prefecture has a population of 1,564,175 (1 September 2022) and has a geographic area of 9,187 km2 (3,547 sq mi). Kagoshima Prefecture borders Kumamoto Prefecture to the north and Miyazaki Prefecture to the northe...
i thought he was a reference to Cyrano de Bergerac
That's his English name
ahh
i see
I wonder if you would hate my beard
I don't tend to hate on real people's appearances because it's hard to work on yourself
One of my favourites growing up https://x.com/thegameawards/status/1835640021501821096?
Me : watching RiJ(RTA in Japan)'s Armored Core 6 run
Commentary : "So the plot of this game, the protag is sent to faraway land and do jobs to make money... basically same with Animal Crossing"
True
Oh my god I have HIM.
GET IT OUT OF MY ISLAND.

Also did not know about Elise, not that I’d want to.

Time to activate the bug net slapping machine
worth it
I'm the same age as this game lol
Classic
hunting with a bow is so hard

New fallen aces update
Yoo it's roboquest!
Yep, played the tutorial, loved it, I have Game Pass, downloading the full thing
Tutorial in the demo that is.

It's a festival day. Fortune teller: great luck! Statue of blessings: +1 luck. Mining statue: bonus to finding ladders/shafts. Result: forget the festival, I'm going to Skull Cavern! High score in level (130), prismatic shards (9), and iridium (320 as of this screenshot)
Yeah I played the game on Game Pass too back on my old account and the full thing is great
I love this game💖 I am not super good at it but my farm is growing. I'm trying to get this magic teleport rod i really would like it. Oh and glass house yeah
I keep trying to enjoy SW: Outlaws but i just can't. Its just too bland imo

I do not enjoy the combat, and don't really care for the story
Ive played it for around 5 hours. My dad seems to like it tho
teleport rod is one of the last things I'll be getting
this is the moment where you start your redemption arc and play Jedi Outcast/Academy/Dark Forces. 😛
I should've pre ordered something other than Outlaws. Maybe Space Marine 2, Astro Bot, or Gundam Breaker 4
How come last?
Battlefield 3 and 4 was like the best battlefield
i was talking to a lawman after turning in a bounty and he just randomly got mad at me and shot me
Was he related to Han Solo
because it costs 2 million gp, which is more than anything else I've bought up to this point
3 maybe, 4 had lootboxes and the progresion was pretty scuffed as a result
Battelfield V was easly when I had the most fun.
Not having to get hundreds of kills before being able to use a weapon was like, a lot better than whatever they did in 3
So , let me get this straight, you have one of the most story rich franchises ever , and you decide to make an extraction shooter out of it.......
I mean we knew for years at this point it was gonna be an extraction shooter
Yeah i know but it still pretty disappointing
Also what is "bungie twist"
either halo or destiny type gameplay
TBH I still have to click with any extraction shooter, so we'll see if this is the one that makes sense in my brain
But yeah, I have low expectations
Bungie seems to be tripping over their own feet a lot lately

simple run was simple
but it was silly I got thru the run with primarily mostly clubs
V also the most one i've spent on too, only because it has most active players and servers
Unfortunately the only thing I know about V is uneducated
Banger game was on sale
I can't resist 70% off
Sale on Yakuza games. I recommend Yakuza 0
The newer Like a Dragon games are on a smaller sale too
What the fuck is this card
You catch a missile and release it at any time you want at the enemy
I unfortunately have no idea who exactly made this comic, but there is a little website address at the bottom right.
In any case, I f*cking LOVE Zelda's smug face on the right-most middle panel. She's scheming.
assuming they're the original artist*
https://thepunchlineismachismo.com/archives/comic/been-in-a-ganondorf-kind-of-mood-lately i see a reddit post saying Kelly Turnball as the artist
I thought that was ctrl + alt + del comic for a moment.
really should have gone with the second one on SauceNao
I just did google lens
I've heard it will be not like skate games now
Afaik the new skate game will be community oriented and super focused on building stuff with other people and will be a live service game that is free to play
Faster will Frozen 3 come out I think. But I wonder. I like Skate 3 multiplayer
https://thepunchlineismachismo.com/ unfortunately the comic stopped updating in 2018 :(
its a legit amazing comic tho, well worth a read of the archives
Will probably have lots of mtx
Yes it's been confirmed it'll have microtransactions that are cosmetics only
Will be clothes etc
Seems like to be following the Steep model and other recent sports game ubisoft relased
Which apparently did pretty well
And weren't horribly predatory, they just have their own audience
I heard it was going to be clothes but it could be skateboards as well.
I mean I assume skateboard personalisation will be a big thing
Steep was great i miss it
Riders republic does it really good with its mtxs
Has a really cute pink panda costume too lol
I mean if its cosmetic… I can live with it.
And if its free to play, then that makes more sense.
Heck, I wouldn’t mind map packs.
For Skate that would work really good, more incentive to come back to new places.
But do let me make a few custom skating areas tho
Yes
I mean if they added a pass system that only contained cosmetics then it’s ok. but if they started to add Boards with special stats then people will stop playing.
Which they've already confirmed it's only cosmetics
Steam Deck ass rendering
Looks like something someone whipped up in a 3D rendering program with some 3D printed components and chips that could of come from anywhere thrown in for “legitimacy”
Still lots of news outlets picking this up. If it is a fake then boy did they get people good.
I heard it got leaked from a Chinese factory.
I'm gonna hold off believing it until we see the design from Nintendo. Nintendo has historically been pretty good about preventing leaks.
dog.
wow St Denis is huge
They found something.
They don't really seem to have specified what exactly, I'm guessing the lawsuit is gonna be more about game mechanics rather than what most people would say which is character designs or whatnot
Probably can't really have a game where you have a pokeball style equivalent is my guess
I'll just wait for the video essays to come out
‘Multiple patent violations’
That’s a rip.
They had patents over monster designs?

Its also SUPER SMART for Nintendo to wait.
And then shoot them after making money and losing said money after the hype waned.
No, they have multiple game mechanics patented
They patented a bunch of game mechanics from TOTK alone
Isn't it fairly difficult to patent a game mechanic? How'd they manage that
Ah, the Disney method.
Yeah… Palworld devs are gonna pull
This is gonna be a GIGA lawsuit
They will appeal every loss and make them go bankrupt one way or another.
Anyhoo, I guess no Mac port now. I expect Valve to remove the game.
Nintendo once again giving players a reason to hate them, despite all their good games and amazing IPs.
in palworld we trust
We all knew this was coming, but Nintendo has no right to patent game mechanics, FFS.
By that logic, 90% of all shooters are copying from CoD.
It's stupid
And it's killing creativity in the game industry
And Nintendo knows they can't lose because the Palworld team is small. They know that the team is gonna get crushed and they don't give a single shit.
Don't go giving them ideas now
Nintendo already has the idea, and if they win this, so will every other game company.
i dont think any company should have a patent to game mechanics
yeah I agree
Of course they shouldn't
But apparently Nintendo thinks otherwise.
It's like patenting having music in a game.
iirc Warner Bros patented the nemesis system, and then Namco patented playable minigames in loading screens for a while
dumb
Why do so many amazing games have to be attached to an extremely anti-player, anti-modder, anti-fan, and scummy company?
why is Halo 1 so hard
In other more positive news Jedi Survivor apparently has no Denuvo anymore and performs better on PC now
Oh that is positive news
you know what that means
that game is hard
Why is it first then?
older games are always harder
I recommend attempting to avoid being shot.
thank you Ster 🙏
Maybe I know wrong because I played in coop
I don't remember. I just remember I had great fun in all Halo 💖
Denuvo is a stain on the gaming industry and I hope it's removed from every single game it's infected. It's done so much more harm than good for every game it's been put in.
Isn't denuvo something you have to prove you own the game?
pretty much, but it does it in a way that harms the people that also legitimetly own the game
How does it harm?
If this were a Sangheili ship, your lack of reverence for Arbiter Thel 'Vadam would be tantamount to heresy.
...but yes, he does first appear in Halo 2, although he and Chief aren't exactly friends at that point.
as far as im aware it can impact performance
And what do you mean those who also legit own the game
people who bought the game
Yeah you have to buy to own, no?
Speaking of weird patents, warner bros patented the 'nemesis' system that features in their Shadow of War LOTR games. Which is a weird thing to patent (and it was awarded to them)
i bet lots of people on earth only know Arbiter as "Master Chief's buddy" right
Now that you mention it, I'm... not actually sure if people on Earth know who he is at all.
huh
idec really for the performance shit,i dont even know if thats a real issue or what cuz i didnt look into it,i more of care cuz 1.some less popular games end up being uncracked(project diva mega39s+) 2.they take much longer to crack or you have to rely on questionable individuals to do it
even outside piracy reasons i do think almost every game should be available cracked cuz it can become hard to get at some point
Halo has actually for once made me like a sniper rifle
I don't recall 'Vadam's fame ever being discussed in a piece of canon media, and up until the very tail end of the war, he was a Covenant Supreme Commander.
Even when he did turn around and start helping the UNSC, he did so pretty much simultaneously with the rest of his species. I'm not sure that the general population of Earth would be familiar with him.
interesting
The proof that you own the game is the receipt of the purchase and the money you put into the publisher's bank account, Denuvo is just there to ensure the game can't be cracked and pirated, it's not a proof of ownership, it's actually the complete opposite, you can't even play a game with denuvo if you don't have internet access, you don't really own that
It also kills pretty much all modding for that game, iirc.
luckily only game i only ever got to experience denuvo in i think was dying light 2? but even then they removed it after a bit im p sure
Someone gave Rockstar a fat check to stay away from Steam Deck.

I wonder who it was…
im sure an anti cheat that doesnt work half the time against cheaters and fucks up regular user experience cuz its buggy as shit will help
The thing is that the anticheat works on Steam Deck
yeah im aware,i just dont see the point of adding it in general
Rockstar made sure it didn’t work on Steam Deck.
Aka, someone delivered a really juicy deal to make sure GTA is AWAY from the Deck.
Not gonna say who but… it is pretty green of them.
🥰
Anyway, lets have 650 less people on the case.
Likely reason they delayed the legal action was that they wasn't going to bring it to the court, but they felt it was becoming a big deal after Sony joined
The timeline matches perfectly
I hope Valve takes this event as the warning shot and goes into hyper mode on Steam OS.
Because Steam OS shoulda been out YESTERDAY.

Tick tock
Why would Xbox be in blame?
Why would Microsoft be in blame?
I think a little its a valid fear a bit maybe
Nah, its a true fear.
They really paid for it to not be available on steam deck?
I don't think it could be true maybe. Phil Spencer said When we all play we all win. It's why they want to make everything available everywhere, no?
He is a PR person, do you really believe him considering how many people keep getting fired?
Making friendship with GeForce Now, cloud gaming on phones and browsers and TV
That’s because they’re pawns.
Well they did fire a lot of people
And they’re breaking record numbers
Like GeForce Now only benefits Windows because it only restates the dominance.
It doesn’t actually compete.
But it can be run on anything that supports browsers, no?
‘Technically’
That is not a solution, its a workaround.
And I’m tired of folks pretending its a solution.
You're right it's not native app
Even with good internet you get latency
But maybe it's for people who can't play locally?
It's so miniscule it's like native it really is
hell no
It's a miracle of our times
even just streaming from a console next to me has latency thats more than noticable, many times even impactful, let alone from cloud
I was in GFN beta and I also use Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Okay then you have god tier internet
I have to deal with 100ms and cant do anything
Good luck telling your ISP to get its shit together.
tbh vashka is from poland and warsaw is a common point for servers soooo probably living across the street from them helps
Regardless, this isn’t even their first rodeo into doing these scummy things.
That's what I mean when I say I worry about most of the world. But isn't cloud used when you have no local devices?
Cloud is used as a last resort
Yes so isn't it like a good thing that it exists?
I payed for Xbox Cloud Gaming for starfield
It was dog… manure….
God I don’t want to sound so rude but its REALLY NOT GOOD.
You said 100 ping, it's crazy high a bit
That’s on good days
Bad days are like 300
But yeah I remember crashing Xbox Cloud Gaming servers constantly because Starfield hanged their virtual computers on how buggy it was
if this happens to rdr2 im gonna freak it
dw rockstar doesnt give a fuck about it
Regardless, Microsoft has done this before. Halo was supposed to be a Mac title only initially back years ago, and then it became Xbox and PC exclusive after a deal went through, and they ‘honored’ a port for Mac. It was a very broken port.
And I’m sure I’m forgetting other scenarios
Ah, the creation of DirectX
That’s right
Do you think Valve will make Steam OS for any device one day?
Windows 95 had OpenGL support… or was it 98? Anyway, they supported an open standard and then immediately tried to shove their proprietary rendering api.
Everyone was okay with it.
Which is ironic… considering how we are supposed to be using Vulkan but only Linux users adopted it.
And I guess android users too…
PS5 uses it too… and Windows can use it but once more… it doesn’t hurt them.
They have announced plans for it
I am not very super smart in tech like you, but I think it could change many things
I mean I’m not super smart either but what I want is for all companies to stop mocking around and do one standard. Either use Vulkan or stop pretending that you care.
Cuz right now its just a bunch of fanboyism “DX FASTER” & “LINUX MAC BAD”
etc
When I play retro games on Xbox I can choose between Vulcan and OpenGL but I usually do what YouTube videos say to do
… what?
Because I don't really get that
The xbox app right?
Because last time I checked, Xbox doesn’t allow Vulkan. All Xbox titles need to be DX on the console.
PC is whatever.
Like I can’t stress this enough, this is the only time Linux has a chance to do damage. There is momentum, and Valve is just… taking forever.
No, there is an app on Xbox called Developer Mode. You can pay 20 dollars and then like, install Emulators using PC first. And in emulators you can change.
You can but for how long? I wouldn’t be shocked if MS has been trying to lock it down.
They don’t necessarily win much.
No, they blocked a way to do it in retail mode, and never changed in developer mode
That makes sense
That's why so many people for example buy Xbox Series S, the small one, and emulate.
I see the appeal, but I wouldn’t ever rely on it.
There is a LOT of videos on youtube. I think because series S is super cheap
That's absolutely crazy
This was on Best Buy
i think
Well people don’t know what an Xbox Series S is
Anyway, far from the topic. I just want this nonsense to end, but seeing this latest move doesn’t surprise me.
Better article
Not exactly make it
They gonna just make a unique os maybe for everyone to use
A locked down handheld that runs Windows but with less Windows if that makes sense
Yeah, like Xbox
I think if it's possible to make a handheld that has power of Series S many people would buy
But I think it's maybe not possible yet
Also, normally PR people skip questions like these. But seems like something is cookin
Who knows. But I don’t want it to happen, its not gonna be good in the long run. Xbox users will enjoy sure, but everyone will suffer if MS retakes the crown again in the PC market.
Well, unless you are somehow still happy about Windows 11.
So if I understand right you want Valve to be the leader?
Not the leader
I just want them to open Pandora’s box
If Linux gains the marketshare and gaming momentum, then software companies will start to reconsider Microsoft.
If that occurs, then we will get ACTUAL competition.
Is Steam OS Linux?
Arch, yeah.
Wouldn't Android already be a bit open like Linux?
Yeah, but Android is mostly controlled by Google.
Its open… but… you are bound to use the Google GPlay API
This is so interesting
When I mean ‘bound’ I mean it becomes inevitable.
You really really know a lot and I'm super curious
You can obviously not use it… but… you will be like… the weird sheep that refused to join the flock.
I mean… I am generalizing a lot, do not assume that I know everything though.
And this was a theory I made, conspiracy or not. The only evidence I am providing is based on prior events and coincidences.
You should still make up your own opinion whenever possible.
If you really want to know why I hated the Epic sideloading stuff with iPhone, its because MS was involved in it.

What? What do you mean? How does it connect?
I mean it's okay if you can't find. I don't think I can really read through one. Most important is what it said in short
I always thought it's just Epic and Apple, no?
Epic v Apple & Google
I can’t find anything now… what is actually going on
This feels like a joke
It's okay
Do you prefer single player games for story or multiplayer games for competition?
Okay
Oddly enough this is not the exact thing I wanted but its close enough to prove some malice at play.
Effectively they demanded MS to ‘do something good’ as a ‘good opportunity’ was arriving.
"Epic has certain plans for August that will provide an extraordinary opportunity to highlight the value proposition of consoles and PCs, in contrast to mobile platforms, and to onboard new console users," Sweeney wrote. "While I can't share details with any third party at this point, I give you Epic's assurance that our efforts will be positive and supportive of Microsoft, Xbox and Windows." The email concludes with Sweeney saying that the Xbox boss should "expect events throughout August to draw the specific opportunity into focus."
Like this is coy as hell.
Congratulations to Microsoft on a well-deserved honor. From Bill Gates to Steve Ballmer to Satya Nadella, they have a 50-year track record of supporting and empowering developers to do great work, while respecting developer and user freedom. A sharp contrast to Apple and Google.
Like really Timmy?
I guess nothing says ‘user freedom’ as Microsoft.
I need to move on from this…
its not healthy
I don’t know, I want anything that is at least fun.
So I guess games for fun.
Honestly as much as I hate Epic, I do like Fortnite and Lego Fortnite… as hypocritical all this discussion sounds.
God I wished my brain didn’t have a bajillion levers lmao.
It is never late. You wait until you have a strong case then sue.
Game mechanics are the only thing you can patent about games. For a patent to be accepted the mechanic has to do something in a novel and interesting way.
You can't patent stuff everyone was already doing before you. There are specific avenues for patents. I will give you a list of existing patents you might recognize in a bit.
Call of Duty has the following patents:
1- https://patents.google.com/patent/US20160005270A1/en
A system where you can match expert or well known players with junior players, to drive microtransactions by making the junior players more likely to see fancy gear.
2- https://patents.google.com/patent/US20190091581A1/en
A system for matching players with other players based on how likeable they are and more fun to play with. This one was abandoned and my guess is because you can't define likeability very well.
Other videogame patents you might recognize are the Nintendo d-pad patent which is now expired. For ten years it made it so other companies had to either get Nintendo to license them or use a different style of d-pad.
https://patents.google.com/patent/US4687200A/en
A four-directional switch which can be turned on and off in four directions, which comprises a base plate having a plurality of electrodes formed thereon, a key top having an indication showing predetermined four pressing directions in an identifiable manner, a support member constituting a fulcrum between the base plate and the key top, a...
There's also the crazy taxi arrow, bioware's dialog wheel, Namco's loading screen minigames, the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor games.
In other words, patents do not protect generic mechanics. They protect novel techniques that are not already in the market, that you have filed for patent to get and successfully gotten, and the protection lasts ten years.
You can't patent the concept of Pokemon, but you could patent the concept of the Pokemon box system, if nobody else did it before you.
huh, that's interesting. Thanks for the info flitter. I was unaware of this method.
whoa i didn't know the Crazy Taxi arrow was patented
The crazy taxi arrow patent https://patents.google.com/patent/US6200138B1/en
A game display method displays a driving game which permits characters to be present in a city and can prevent cruel images of collisions with characters. Characters in a dangerous area are intentionally moved away from a motorbike B. Those H 1, H 2 of the characters behind the motorbike B as viewed in a moving direction of the motorbike...
Figures 12 to 14 are crazy taxi
Sega Sued EA for The Simpsons: Road Rage because they violated the patent
Ultimately they settled in private
Honestly I won't be surprised if this ends with a settlement, I doubt Nintendo's true goal is to end Pocket Pair
They probably just want to stop Palworld from becoming a media franchise, and especially want to stop Sony being part of it
but why would they want to stop them from doing that
They're competitors
Fair enough, not sure what else I expected
Sony's involvement was probably the major factor
Wonder what the higher ups at Sony are thinking, this could've not been more poorly timed
Bad news for Pocket Pair is that Sony has nothing to lose
Worst case scenario they drop a future project, it's not like, yaknow, they've invested some million dollars and developed for like 8 years

Statement from the developers https://www.pocketpair.jp/news/news16
Palworld
I wonder what's going to be, the only thing I can think of in which the two games are similar mechanically is the pokeball capture thing
They do own the pokeball capture patent.
They do say multiple patents, and I can't fathom anything else tho
Well they have shitload of patents so it's hard to even guess tbh
Like, it obvious can't be fighting the tower bosses because they are too similar to gym bosses, because there is no way they can patent bosses in a videogame
Well the patents usually go like "the mechanics of how the game counts the procedure of the game by boss count"
Also to be fair, you can file a patent of whatever, if it's gonna stand in court or not it's a whole another matter
So it's not impossible
It is highly likely that Nintendo have the high ground for this case.
Yeah no, that wouldn't survive.
If it's broad enough to encompass Palworld tower bosses, I'd encompass maybe 40% of all games
Well Nintendo does actually have a lot of patents that can considered as "infringed" by many other games
They usually don't make a legal case about it because they know it looks very bad
Or because they wouldn't survive in court
Remember, they had patents for stuff like cross-shaped d-pad or 3d lock-on mechanics
Eh, not really, Konami makes a lot of those cases and they win a lot
Nintendo v. Pocket Pair case is entirely held in Japanese court
Since they are both Japanese companies
Yes that is correct
I'd say it is likely that Nintendo is going to win if they push the case, but I also think that there is a high chance that it will end up with a settlement
We'll see, my guess is that they maybe will win on the pokeball thing, I'd be surprised if they got anything else substantial
Given that they aren't suing on the monster designs but on game mechanics
Could they not call it pallball but they could change the look of it?
It's what they did
The capturing mechanics would be the problem there.
Like it doesn't look like a pokeball, but the mechanic of caputring monsters in a round object it's still there
Like, they could probably change it in caputring monster in something else that you don't throw
It's very likely that Nintendo doesn't really care about Palworld's service or the infringed patent itself
And it would probably be different enough
Is there anything they can do to change the capture mechanic?
I'm sure there is, but we don't know what the patent is and we don't actually even know if that's one of the patents nintendo is alleging was infringed upon
So far it's pretty much speculation
I just assumed there was one because it's like, the most obvious thing to patent for Pokemon

The link I have seems to be region-locked
In Japan patents last twenty years so my first thought would be that the patent is expired if it exists.
https://www.j-platpat.inpit.go.jp/c1801/PU/JP-7545191/15/en
This one should work
This one is a patent they got while developing PLA
Makes sense, that was the first time they added non-battle catching method in the mainline games
It's interesting how some of the references are ARK documents
I see. Thanks
It's interesting how Pocket Pair is clearly trying to frame it as "Indie game company vs. Huge game corpo"
Ah
It is working very well with its western audiences, while Japanese people seems to be saying "what makes you think you are representing the whole indie developers for this case"
They're representing themselves as one indie developer. It makes sense to me
Yeah but their statement says:
However, we will do our utmost for our fans, and to ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas.
Besides big devs locking down game mechanics is bad for all indies, and the industry as a whole if you ask me.
They are very clearly trying to frame this as "Nintendo bullying indie company"
Like, none except Warner Bros benefit from patenting the nemesis system
I see
Interestingly the reaction to this seems to be very different between Japan/Korea and Western
Patents intend to drive creativity exactly through this mechanism. They guarantee you won't have competition for a while so you know you can safely allocate resources to research
Of course, for videogames a more reasonable time limit is three to five years
I think it's good if they protect your specific way of doing something, but a concept shouldn't be possible to patent.
Well patents are pretty specific
it's the difference between patenting a Samsung washing machine or washing machines as a whole
You can definitely make a nemesis system that works in a different way if you like
Depends how vague the patent is.
The reporting from when that happened made it look like pretty broad
The patent I uploaded explains its mechanics with a super long sentence, which goes like "A computer mechanics that give you a choice between 1) capturing item and 2) in game creatures so that user can make a specific manuveur to choose between them, and then interact with a virtual creature on the virtual field (...)"
It specifies what it does with almost a paragraph long sentence
And Namco up until a big ago still held the patent for mingames during loading screens which is absrudly broad, probably due to the fact that patent offices at the time didn't really understand video games and how broad that patent would have been
I'm not sure they do now is the problem
I feel like there is a slight chance some of the patents they claimed are not Pokemon but Nintendo
For example they probably have loads of 3d openworld action related patents with Zelda
It wouldn't be good if you had a company that held patents that allowed them to shut down any game competition they don't like.
Would Nintend othe one that has 3d open world patents or Rockstar?
Like the moden open world concept I'm pretty sure was born with GTA3
Not 3d open world patent
Some specific mechanics
Obviously "3d open world" is not specific enough for patenting
But things like "structures on the field that reveals map and act as a quick travel point" could be patentable
(Just an example)
This game looks absolutely adorable!

Imagine selling even more expensive version of PS5 Pro
Yeah given the extremely limited quantities I can't imagine that it'll be cheaper than the regular PS5 Pro lol
I'm guessing $1000 USD
What games?
Ah, the MSFT question for the last two gens. /s
I cannot even dare imagine what the price in Japan/Korea will be if that becomes true, the normal PS5 Pro is already over 800usd here (about 840~850)
oh dear celestia if those controllers end up being 90 dollars…im going to have to talk to someone
they’re already so expensive
They look great but honestly I’d prefer just buying ceremony plates.
That tweet seems to have been deleted
at this point, who's left working there?
Worse, the tweet itself has been laid off
Actiblizz is still huge. It's still probably around 15000 people working there, and I'm counting actiblizz only, not the whole xbox/microsoft gaming section
Now, if those 400ish are all on the same division, then yeah that's worrisome. If it's more spread out, that'll affect projects less (though it still shouldn't be happening as often as it is
)
But it has been long since the tweet™️ has been laid off by Eeeelon

Please be a new show and not some Edgerunners sequel, please
||Cyberpunk : David on the Moon||
||Considering the body count (a sturdy thirty!) of the show's cast, that's probably a given...||
You'd think but with all the people who were begging for a season 2 I just don't know anymore
I mean, ||they can't bring back the dead since this is earlier than the game and the tech isn't ready, not to mention they weren't copied sooo... it has to be a new cast||
It would be interesting to have V and Jackie be the cast in their pre-game time period
Iirc they already said that there wouldn't be a season 2 of Edgerunners
Well the real question would be who's making it
Hmmmm I dunno, I dunno if I'd like a conclusive ''canon'' depiction of V, which is funny considering what I often say about the game
But then they'd have to choose an ending if they do make any reference to 2077...
and I still haven't finished it
I guess now is a pretty good time to go back into it, I'm not currently playing anything and the new Zelda isn't out yet, I think I got time still
I've been putting it off for too long
I would be happy with a new Edgerunner if it was a full new cast, agreed.
I feel like that worked really well as a "let's tell this story with this specific cast of characters and their journey through Night City."
I want that again but with new characters
Check out your first look at Like A Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii led by Majima Goro. It was revealed at RGG Summit 2024.

Crystal Project is a really great game. It's a non-linear JRPG. Flitter has been talking about it for a long time so I decided to give it a shot. I came across a scenario that I found really fun. By being very through with exploration, I ended up getting to a cave earlier than expected. Going into dungeons slightly underlevel has always been fun for me in games in general, be it Skyrim or Starfield or whatever. In this case, it was a huge learning experience. The types of enemies in this dungeon were unlike others. I had to figure out the right combination of Jobs my party should have and which skills to unlock. It took me several TPKs to get one wing of the dungeon figured out, but it felt good when I did. Eventually, you get to an enemy that's super annoying to fight, but I figured out techniques to simply skip those fights. At the end of the dungeon is a ridiculous hard boss fight. Or so I thought. After walking away from the game for awhile, I was thinking about how I could get past that boss. It nagged at me all day because I knew there had to be a trick. Long story short, I figured out a strategy that worked really well. It took a couple of attempts, but I was able to clear the final boss by the skin of my teeth. I jumped out of my chair I was so excited. It really came down to the wire. What made the fight fascinating is Crystal Project's biggest strength; practically all the information about the battle is revealed. The turn order, what move the enemy will do next, how much damage you'll be able to do. Which, seems like too much information and I ignore it most of the time, but I needed it in this boss fight. It's kind of hard to explain why I had so much fun but I actually felt like I was playing a jrpg instead of just rolling dice. I mean, I figured out how to get past a boss. I didn't need to reach for a strategy guide or simply get overleveled, I figured out the solution and executed on it.(Tagging @slim thorn since I know they're a jrpg fan)
Oh i loved toem ,really cute and comfy game

I love games that let me do Dumb Shit™️ (Rusted Moss)
to explain further, the main mechanic is the weird bungee rope thing I'm swinging off of and I believe the general strategy is to swing around, but earlier today I got a shotgun that pushes me back when I fire it.
Including in mid-air.
This is a more extreme example since I have no way to normally swing up there (i can only attach my "rope" to mossy parts of the terrain and the angle is kinda difficult to work with if i was just swinging)
so using the shotgun to boost myself makes the physics way easier to handle
also you can fucking bhop with shotgun knockback
i mean you can also bhop with the rope, yo uswing youself forward and hop before you lose momentum, but the shotgun knockback is more consistent to me, since it doesn't require a mossy surface and you can also use it midswing for... Dumb Shit™️
Though I do recommend this game, it does come with the caveat of "Fuck, this game is Hard" with a capital H.
There's a lot of both platforming and combat challenges and this game does tend to get a tad much sometimes.
(Thankfully there's a toggable assist mode, but I'm trying to play with the intended expereince in mind)
i really like this game but i also have a lot to say about it in the not so good ways, lmao
oooh someone else playing RM
I wish I was good enough at it to play the DLC
the randomizer often expects that kind of weapon boosting btw
it can get very hard and parts of it target a skill level I don't have, but like Celeste I found it relatively easy to just not do the stuff that was too hard for me to enjoy grinding, as the critical path never got that crazy

oh i know them for the Doki Doki Literature Club song, dang
Holy lord
I know many things went over my head with difficult English. But I caught a lot of it. But this was just hypnotizing. Grappling. The way it kept changing. The music video, atmosphere, even the ending. This guy is so talented it's just stunning
Yeah, their songs The Ribbon and Ad Infinitum are a little harder to follow for some people, the first because it uses a lot of wordplay and larger vocabulary, which is thematically appropriate because the song is about a writer (Alan Wake from...Alan Wake, lol), and the second one is hard to follow because it's so blazing fast and hard to follow in general, which is also thematically appropriate because the song is about a 4th wall breaking, glitchy, spammy, walking ad known as Spamton G. Spamton (from Deltarune).
That said, if you're interested in it, I HIGHLY recommend listening to it. It has quite possibly the absolute fastest and craziest lyrics I've ever heard in a song (I daresay it even beats Weird Al's Hardware Store): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8RkcUiCxuE

You wanna know something funny about this song specifically? Someone actually did the math in the comments, and the "fast part" (the whole song is fast but you know what I mean) actually has more words per minute than the song "Rap God" does during it's fast part
Yup, Stupendium officially beat Eminem as the fastest rapper.
Just slightly, but still
well not anymore, godzilla (also eminem) is faster
but still going faster (and more impresively twice as long) than rap god is certainly an achievement
Did you know that Stupendium also sang an SCP song? They didn't make it themselves, rather it was a song written by a guy called Musiclide (who has a unique way of doing music: he writes the lyrics and performs the music, but lets others sing the songs). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX9oWKWN46c

insane
but yeah the whole 'future of the playstation' thing was obvious from the whole 'show up in an amazon show' thing
Netflix, but yes~
Amazon Prime Video
Oh huh, I was thinking love death and robots
Same folks that did that to be fair.
Yeah, I don't think it was the animators and producers who decided on the Concord episode, lol. They had a deal with Sony to get their support to help make the show a reality, but Sony required them to have a mandatory Concord episode.
So yeah, aged like milk right out of the gate. Now the show's gonna have a completely wasted episode that would've been better-suited for something like Doom, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ratchet & Clank, Warcraft, Starcraft, Spyro, Sonic, or literally ANY other franchise.
At least that episode will live longer than the game it is for/from.
Yeah, and it'll be a glimpse into a future that could've been.
Jesus fucking christ
This is a flop that will be studied for generations
This is truly one of the biggest failures fucking ever
Like, I cant even comprehend how much of a fuckup this is
To put in perspective, Avengers Endgame costed $356 million
What in the fuck sony people were doing? Was this a money laundry for the cartel or what
It is a "I heard from a source" so it's not 100% confirmed yet, but. I also wouldn't be surprised
The credits of the game is over an hour long, so really does not surprise me
Even if in the range of 200m-400m, this is a flop big enough that I can see CEO’s resigning and lot of shit changing
Who was in charge of this whole thing need to resign out of respect of the whole company
One does not burn unholy amount of money like that for a game that stays up for 12 days
Indie sexual asset flip games on steam sold more than that thing
lol lmao
Best they can do is fire every developer involved and whoever else they need to fire to make up for the cost

Essentially, many veterans worked on this and had no criticism due to all of them being so experienced. Nobody questioned any decision, and Sony was willing to throw whatever resources they could use to make it a 'guaranteed hit'.
What resulted was essentially a 'nobody critics nobody' type of situation which made a game that was essentially doomed from the very inception. Ironically enough, Sony wasn't the one who put the foot and messed things up. It was everyone and Sony for not checking themselves and allowing proper constructive criticism to flow, just because you have industry veterans working doesn't mean success.
Which is ironic because this is A POLAR OPPOSITE of what ET was about.
ET was a rushed game, the fault entirely lying on Atari. Concord was essentially everyone hecked up.
the opposite of corporate meddling then? too much freedom
Essentially.
If you've played the game, or anyone here played the game... most came out saying it was aight.
Not really too much freedom since you essentially can't criticize the game or say anything negative about it
Most of the drama was just the looks and... how 'generic' it looked.
Well nobody wanted to make comments because everyone assumed everyone knew what they were doing.
So... effectively... you get this weird paradox.
Nobody asks because everyone has a high rank and nobody wants to piss off anyone, and then at the end you start to assume maybe this is actually gonna work because everyone is 'the best of the best'.
Reminds me of this movie scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnxtJ4468fM
Agent J (Will Smith) does all the tests to get an agent….| Buy or rent Men in Black here: https://amzo.in/movie/dn1/men-in-black-1997
After a police chase with an otherworldly being, a New York City cop is recruited as an agent in a top-secret organization established to monitor and police alien activity on Earth: the Men in Black. Agent Kay an...
They needed someone who was willing to question decisions, someone to ask and actually determine if it was worth it or not. But when you have everyone as 'yes' and 'expert', why bother? Everyone seems happy.
[You could argue the leads did not do a good job at arguing/questioning decisions and therefore are at fault]
Ideally that 'someone' would be multiple people during development, it's not like having the one person who everyone has to go through would be a better solution
Not saying one person, but someone should have created the friction.
Nobody bothered
Because the money kept flowing.
No one at Sony said no.
That's the entire thing, nobody wanted to question anything.
And even if there was a soul who wanted to, they probably just thought to themselves... "ehh... we are veterans... we know what we are doing maybe..." ego.
The more likely thing is that anyone who did criticize anything was shut down immediately
You could assume that.
We don't know what exactly happened inside.
But it could go both ways.
whatever 'dev toxicity' thing occured, it was probably ego.
and therefore nobody wanted to question anything, therefore the leads hecked.
Hey! I loved this dude's video on bad puzzle designs
Wasn't this the same thing as Redfall then? Microsoft acquired the company, didn't really supervise Redfall after acquiring Arkane from Zenimax (who commissioned the game, basically), and them poof, it released in a failed state
To be fair, whatever happened with Concord probably wasn't that much different from any other usual failure in the gaming industry, the thing is all the bad aspects were amplified by a million because so much money was poured into this thing and the expectations for it were so big
It's more common than you'd think for a project to fail because whoever is leading it just cannot take no for an answer and cannot take any criticism so they just remove anyone who dares make changes or criticize anything
Jim Ryan already left
I was like "Is that even a valid question, isn't it obvious" until I realized that shimmer was added a while ago
(The obvious answer is NO as it's probably just straight up impossible, but the shimmer makes it kinda possible)

Historically swords were carried on the back for transportation more than for fighting, at least for western swords.
It's a much more comfortable place where to place the weigh rather than in the waist where it could catch on things, if you didn't plan on fighting
I guess it could be pratical for shorter swords
I was itchy anyway
For short swords that probably wouldn't be more likely than on the waist my guess is
The annoying bit would definitely be storing it back for sure
On the waist you see what you are doing at least
What the fuck is today's daily
So all enemies deal more damage, two drones spawn in each fight that copy you
And you're playing on Harder
Something exciting in the making! #SNK #FatalFury #CR7
holy SHIT is that ADAM JENSEN from DEUS EX HUMAN REVOLUTION
He never asked for this...
what on earth is this teaser lmao?
surely they add lebron to street fighter
aw shit
here we go again.
happy 7th anniversary to Doki Doki Literature Club
🎶 every day,i imagine a future where i can be with you 🎶
one of these days I will finally read that
Read? DDLC is a game
Well, a visual novel, so I guess there's a lot of reading involved
For visual novels most people say "read"
Because they are novels
Not that "play" is wrong
They are also videogames
either verb is fine, but it is mostly reading text
I would say "play" personally
feeling cute
Yagami looks lost.
Quite a few indies
lmaooo its so funny seeing tryhards in brawlhalla that show off mechanically crumble when you make them respect you instead of letting them press random buttons hoping it hits
watched a mf go from confident as hell to a lost lamb to rage quit just cuz he kept trying to do shit in situations he wasnt supposed to,i dont think people understand that above average mechanics wont save them from low rank game sense and habits
cuz he kept trying to do shit in situations he wasnt supposed to
I'll be honest, I usually try against new opponents to see if it works
because if it does, it can have really good payout
experimenting is one thing, doing it over and over again is another
the thing specifically he tried to do was baiting me with empty attacks cuz he thought i wasn't in a position to punish, but what he kept failing to realise is that i literally do that myself and know how to get around it
Don't make fun of people cuz they're not as good at the game as you
I sometimes bait with empty attacks too, it's kind of like suppressive fire in a FPS
you fire bullets but you don't expect to hit... more power if you do 🙂
as long as you use safe attacks with not much lag, it's fine
im making fun of them because they try to show off mechanically and by trying to clip farm when they clearly arent capable of doing any of that,if they didnt rage quit i wouldnt even be making fun of them
i dont make fun of people just for not being as good at a game, but if they try to show off they better back it up
I still don't think its alright
eh,if they are being an ass about it so can i,just is equal
if someone plugs/ragequits,is toxic,or tries to show off when they shouldn't i consider all of those free game p much, they are in no place to be properly respected if they can't do the same to other's, especially if they can't back it up
it is a powerful skill to know, but def only should be learned after having already learned fundamental stuff first
I switch to lower-tier characters/characters I'm less familiar with if I start consistently winning against someone
it adds variety to gameplay and all 🙂
I promise this is skill-based mechanic.
if im custom matchmaking then same, not in rando queue though
if I'm playing against another low tier in matchmaking, I'm more prone to switching
(not for ranked of course... I win rarely enough there already)
fun fact: in Melee, hitting a 9 is harder than any other number because its hitbox is smaller
We did GTA V a while back, why not do the more train-relevant RDR2?

OUGH i got scared
The WoW grandma is still going strong though!
We're making a game where you play a courier rider in 13th century Mongolia
No combat, just you, the horse(s) you've tamed, bred and trained and the vast wilderness.
Would you play this? https://t.co/NSyEOoECk4

Playing Grandia 1
I bought Ultrakill yesterday
This pose is mega cute
Also, Grandpa's house is apparently "House 5"
Couldn't be bothered to give it a name?
This guy needs to go to alcoholics anonymous
I had low expectations for how the game would look, but this is actually pretty nice
gives me PS1 vibes
That's where it launched on
huh well you know, if I see a game i don't recgonise, I presume it's a new indie game, LMAO
I barely keep up with AAA stuff now
Yeah, it kind of reminds me of running the game on Duckstation with their fancy texture upscaling technology
Grandia 1 HD
That unique combination of low poly objects with 4k resolution textures is kinda funny but also good
Yeah especially with the HD graphics, gives me faux retro game vibes
but it is legit!
Waiting for the joke.
What joke?
There it is.
it's a good bit
I honestly feel its been overused a lot. Like we get it already type of levels.
I wonder if there are actual statistics on how many games are released on the PS5, with and without the number of games exclusive to it
VGChartz suggests 898 games are out in total
Ah that one

i didnt realise rise of the ronin realeased
Guess she finally outgrew videogames
Let's fight somewhere empty
it was that, or the second page of Google search results
Sony is pushing their games to PC so the exclusive list is going to be small.
I wonder if GT7 and Astro Bot will be on PC at some point
GT7 is always-online (mostly to push for microtransactions as you can't cheat items this way…), but so is Helldivers 2
isn't Astro Bot like, a big show off of PS5 dualsense stuff
Astro Bot for sure, I'm not sure how long Sony likes it wait, it seems to vary.
it's a Nintendo game on PS5, more or less. Basically what people wanted for years 🙂 and it showed in reviews
That' Astro Playroom.
Last of Us 2 will probably show up the same time the show comes back.
FF7 Rebirth will only come to PC after SE figures out how maximize their loss of money on it.
Yeah I was wondering, PS doesn't really have that many actual exclusives at this point.
It's mostly timed ones
And no Xbox
when is the state of play
Demon's Souls I feel like it's the only one that is old enough that it should have gotten a PC release if they wanted to make one
Tomorrow
oh
Demon's Souls and Bloodborne are in an odd situation given the popularity of Elden Ring.
Guess Sony is too busy with Concord.
Bloodborne is rapidly becoming playable via emulation as well, guess we'll see if that sparks any demand.
"Hmmm... Hmmm. Expelled!"
Someone swapped the sorting hat with the lobotomy hat!
That dog is savage
One thing I find interesting is the time it starts;
Nintendo directs typically start 7am pst, which is 11pm jst.
On the other hand, state of play tend to start at 3pm pst, which is 7am jst.
Maybe it shows the difference in who they focus on
I CAN'T EVEN
huh, is that not how these things normally work?
