I don't know how the fishing minigame will work yet ( still updating atm) but they've got a whole cooking system, updated with all the new fish you can get, and any edible item can be used as bait. This means, for example, that you would have to watch the "herb-picking" animation 440 times if you wished to level up Strength from level 13 to 14. It "may" very slightly help out in the first few levels of Strength, but it is basically obsolete from the get-go.
If this perk is taken at Herbalism Level 5, then by Herbalism Level 20, Henry will acquire 878 XP total to Strength. This would be enough to level from Strength 0 to Strength 5, and about halfway to Strength 6. But at the highest level, would be enough to go from half-way through Strength 18 up to to Strength 20. This means it is a very small amount of XP, and is best either taken immediately at Herbalism 5 and/or in early game, or ignored completely if considered not useful.

Should finish it one day, preferably before KCD2 hits.

So far this port is great, the only bummer is that right now it seems like the Seamless HD Project mod is a hassle to implement, it involves upgrading/patching the game into a different version to get the mod to work because up until now only the really old PC ports of RE1-2-3 were available

It's a bummer, the Seamless HD version of RE2 looks great, I'm sure at some point there's gonna be a tutorial or maybe even a new version of Seamless HD for the Gog versions maybe

It's definitely not terrible, and honestly considering other games especially in this genre like SH1-2-3 are completely unavailable, I'm just happy to have them officially somewhere right now

Another quirk this port has is that those in game cutscenes have funky audio, it's way louder than the game, and they're unskippable, unlike the console version (at least the GC version)

So they could be better, but it's not a lazy port at all

I don't think it is the weird side, for example reviews and critics, especially in modern days, tend to avoid criticizing character designs, but there are plenty of "ok the characters look bad in this game"

Feels too subjective to quantify it.
When a game is obviously failing people love to shit on it and be very hyperbolic when talking about it, ultimately if it was really good in a genre that not oversaturated, I doubt the characters design would have been an obstacle to the game success.

Unfortunately they don't have subtitles for the chinese songs/dialogues and the entire game heavily assumes you're familiar with Journey to the West as a whole so it doesn't take the time to really explain or give context to a lot of things

Wukong from what I've seen feels very much feel like "We played the Divine Dragon fight in Sekiro, what if we made a game that's just this the whole time instead of 90% a soulslike"

There is this one Japanese furry vtuber Katamari Damacy speedrunner called Harutomo. They ran some Katamari games in both GDQ and RiJ (RTA in Japan).

In GDQ, they were almost perfectly silent except saying things like "Royal Rainbow", and an English runner helped them by explaining everything in English.

Obviously, in RiJ, they don't need all that support, so they just explain everything themself with (obviously) fluent Japanese, continuously during the whole run.

For all the flaws in the execution, there is nothing wrong with Watchdog premise

Ubisoft plays it way too safe to write anything decent for it , but maybe the movie was written by someone with a spine.
