CRT filters in official retro collections are unfortunately not great, they are usually pretty far in quality from things like CRT Royale or even CRT Lottes. Sometimes it's due to licensing issues, performance cost (especially on Switch)… or simply not knowing better on the developer's end

To be clear, I was referring to the overall customization options and even small details like allowing you to see the in-game screen while selecting a filter so you don't have to be constantly closing and opening up the menu back again

I'm not super knowledgeable on retro filters and that stuff to know what's good or not but I'm vaguely aware that most filters don't actually really capture what it's like to look at something on a real crt, some of those filters on that collection look pretty convincing but unfortunately any heavy crt filters really really hurt my eyes and make it hard to look at (I actually had this exact problem back in the day with the big old TVs too) so I'm perfectly fine with playing retro games on their full pixely glory or just having a basic filter that adds those dots/grids on the screen

Honestly, its kinda wild that I was excited for Overwatch when it launched. Then I played it and found the game to be extremely punishing, and it didn't help that the game punishes the player for sticking to one play style, even if they we're good at it or not.

It also didn't help how some players would become ultra toxic, that's probably why I haven't touched it ever since. That and the random game crashes I often got with no way of fixing.

Tis a shame because I like the universe of Overwatch.

hm... mostly the expected non-statements, but good to know that Yasuke and Naoe are "equally important" lead characters, and it confirms that the choice of Yasuke was in large part because his real life is so mysterious that it makes a good jumping off point for historical fantasy (I assumed as much when I looked him up before but confirmation doesn't hurt)

Seems they're pretty much echoing what was said in this server when the discussion about how Japanese people felt about Shadows was happening. Feudal Japan is the setting and Yasuke was chosen specifically because his historical mystery allows just about any story they want to be written with little creative restraint within the specific setting. He stands out from Naoe because he is so unique but they seem to intend for both characters to carry equal weight in the game with respect to historical accuracy and for the Japanese audience specifically.

Some Japanese gamers have much less issue with the fact that Yasuke is black, and more issue with the fact that for a co-protagonist they have chosen someone who is not Japanese. It seems they would have preferred another completely fictional Japanese person be created if the idea for the devs was to be free creatively in regards to the character.
