Yeah, a little lore knowledge is necessary, but not too much. Pacing was the biggest issue with that film, it was moving too fast and had too much stuff in it. A duology of films, or even a trilogy, would've been better. Have the first one be about the Orcs from Draenor and their initial invasion, while introducing us to the world. Have the second involving the ongoing war between the Orcs and Humans, as well as the Guardian stuff. For the final film, have that whole black cube thing and the culmination of the war, as well as Thrall's destiny being revealed and setup for future films.

I didn't play in the last few expansions because I realised that WoW wasn't what I wanted from a MMO, but it's good.
That said the reason I say story is secondary is not only because it's not always great, but also because it's the part of the game that you aren't pushed into doing if you don't want to.
While the gameplay is the thing that everyone, even the people that mostly care about the story, have to do a bunch of.

It's basically the inverse of FFXIV, if you want to skip the story there, the game will fight you, it's just not a good experience.

Here's what I recommend you play:
1- Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. It's a classic Castlevania retro game. It's slow and cumbersome, but the structure of the game is creative and the music is incredible

2- Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It's just a good modern Castlevania style game. I don't like it as much as Curse of the Moon but it is a deeper more popular game.

When it comes to new games I found on this sale while browsing I checked out Death Must Die which looks pretty damn cool but it's on early access still and I'd rather wait for that to be fully finished before diving in, I'm not really one for vampire survivors style stuff but it seems like this game has a bit more going on and at least the style seems a lot more appealing to me
I also checked out Tunic which I may get on a future sale perhaps it looked pretty good and I'm craving for some more 2d Zelda experience

in Descent 1v1 matches, the rule was always play to 20, win by 2, and you have to survive what's in the air before "win by 2" takes effect so there wasn't any lag-weirdness or disputes over like "you died first on my screen". I had a game I won because of this -- it went from 19-18 to 20-18 for a split second (with me trailing) before my last shot hit and made it 20-19, so overtime triggered and then I ran off 3 straight to win.

The problem with TFH is a problem with a lot of modern games now. Release first and finish later as a business model is extremely flawed and if your game isn’t making enough money, or the devs lose interest or are offered a job by a publisher that’s too good to refuse you can kiss goodbye to it ever being done.

Beyond Telltale’s content and a few others (Splatoon comes comes to mind) has splitting up a game’s content before launching ever really worked for a game that often?

the closer to the location you're in's server, the lower and better your ping is, which can lead to situations like those, where two people both get eliminated at the same time, but it gives the win to the person with the lower ping

so like if two people are both in the NA East servers, and both fall off a ledge and take full fall damage, whoever has the lower ping will win despite both falling at the same speed and hitting the ground at the same time

It wasn't, this game has been lacking when it comes to content a lot and after years of waiting for the main story it's just not happening anymore and the influx of new characters has been extremely slow which probably only made things worse for the game as less and less people are interested on a fighting game that is stagnant with content and has nothing much to offer

This is exactly what happened to DNF Duel which got almost entirely abandoned after a very short time

This isn't a huge development team though, so I understand if maybe the lack of players and lack of money maybe made things more difficult for them to continue developing the game, but for people who payed money for the game or helped crowfund it, and either played religiously all these years or waited for more content to drop into the game before starting to play it, it still feels like shit to just read that they won't be developing the game anymore just like that
