It's fairly different. I wasn't sold on the combat at the time, but the whole aspect of taking on different civ aspects every 'era' you change was really interesting
I think the differences are strong enough that someone looking for a civ-like game might not be getting what they're looking for, at least not 100%

I was in the beta, but didn't buy it. It plays very differently. Combat is much more tactical. You don't "found cities" directly, you create outposts, keep them supplied, and eventually can upgrade them to full cities.

I think it goes a bit beyond that for this specific instance because it's not actually clear that the accumulator is both a building and an item. While all structures are inventory items, you can't really do anything with them besides place them or discard them

except, with accumulators, which are buildings, but also something you can stick in your mech for power, if they're full
once you get that... dohicky (I forget the name) that allows you to charge/discharge batteries, you can ship them all over the place like any other good

Honestly, I'd move the profilerator recipes into oil production, rather than the coal/diamond/nanotube they have now
re: extractors and refineries. With most materials you use a mining machine and a smelter, and they can accept multiple inputs. With the oil stuff, it's only oil and it only refines oil

Currently, you mine them, and currently it's possible to actually deplete the resource and have yourself locked out of t2 smelters. Such a setup would mean that you'd never technically run out

Just finished Pyre, and thus all Supergiant games. I can feel much of Hades in Pyre, or rather to say that a lot of the style that they had in Pyre carried over to Hades. It felt short, though it seems I've played it for about 14 hours? Felt shorter than that. Super interesting setting and worldbuilding, fun characters
