Yeah the biggest failure of Cyberpunk was about setting expectations, than delivering a decent product
nothing that surprising tbh
Alas, it was underbaked and they shipped it too early.
And potentially too ambitious for them
I think the biggest question from that chart, is, why the fuck is Goose Goose duck there?
I blame Twitch.
Was wondering the same
Or rather, the 1st question is, "What the fuck is that?"
And after noticing that's an Among Us clone the previous question arise
the more one studies this chart the more dubious I am that the metric says anything discernible about a game
It is a reasonable representation of popularity at any point in time.
Which is excellent meme game fodder
I think goose goose duck is indeed an among us variant, but it has built in modes (where people have roles and stuff) that among us needs mods for, I think
It is based on real-time Steam data, after all
Meme games on Twitch and YouTube let’s play land are always showing up there
Also I assume there’s a bias to more recent games as the number of steam users increases.
that's part of what I was getting at
Also games like Terraria, that has updated its game about 6 million times and it's so discounted that they pay you to buy it
over in movies, a lot of statistics are hard to make fair comparisons with not just because of inflation, but also because globalization in audiences and marketing and internetting caused a general trend of every year's biggest release to be bigger than the last year's release in terms of opening weekend and other time-sensitive metrics
so I wouldn't be surprised if video game statistics have a similar bias toward the most recent successes
Though I’m pretty sure that the number of steam gamers did not almost double between 2020 (peak Among Us, 447,476) and 2022 (peak Goose Goose Duck, 702,845)
I guess that’s closer to a 50% increase than doubling
It actually did almost exactly double
most of the games on these top whatever lists also hold no appeal to me personally, so it's hard for me to even speculate on what the numbers might mean
If anything I would assume the amount of time people have to spend on games must have decreased between 2020, and 2022, for obvious reasons
You would think that but you are apparently wrong by steam’s metrics
Also I'm always a bit doubtful with how they count the amount of steam players.
Gaming land is inscrutable.
I wonder how skewed the overall Steam in-game numbers get from idle games where people are just “in game” forever.
or people like me accidentally leaving games open when I'm not playing them
I found a rock, and it gave me 5 XP
phew, finally found enough for a level up, so I can save scum whatever check I want now
why do I have a capitalist inner monologue
(Opt out)
huh, am I really stuck with only 3 thoughts unless I spend a skill point I could've used on actual skills?
well, some thought are definitely worth the investment
you don't know what any of the bonuses are in advance though
(and so far half the bonuses are increasing how many skill point you can put into a skill)
finally, jump succeeded
...and Kim just climbed down
why didn't we have the option to do that after the jump check failed the first time
wait how did I do this

is this guy seriously refusing to speak to me if I remain standing
btw, I officially know my own name now
another fun comparison: in Planescape: Torment, the single greatest EXP gain in the entire game is 2 million exp from learning your own name at the very end of the story (given certain missable preconditions)
I wonder, is it even possible to get 100 real on day 1 or does Kim always have to bail you out? (I made it to 52.89)

maybe I wouldn't have gotten this comment if I didn't get stuck and re-scour the area twice for extra dialogue trees
See, double click for the win
There is a non Kim way, yes
Congratulations on remembering your own name

poor Kim, the things he has to deal with
in context it really didn't feel like an accomplishment lol
It's... progress
let's see if you can finish this investigation without getting so drunk you forget your own name and the current year again
|| in context, the reason why Harry drinks so much is quite sad now that I think about it though ||
I wish the task list separated the 15+ "maybe someday" tasks I have from the 2-3 "we actually know what to do next" tasks that are worth looking at
I mean to be fair every task is worth looking at
So far
Stockholm Syndrome, the game
not many people are a fan of Owl i guess
I got that at 5.5% or so
And it seems nobody does stealth in this game because my rarest achievement is now 0.7% with the achievement to use protificus totalus on 50 enemies
Also yay, Ravenclaw
I've always found it a bit odd when I'm playing a game, seemingly normally, and find out that I've achieved something 'rare'
like, only slightly more than half of all players of Spiderman Miles Morales have apparently beat the game
Most times I do this it’s just because the game is so new that everything is disproportionate.
I think this also tends to be the case for remasters or much-later releases (like everything Sony puts on Steam) - I suspect a lot of people buy Game They Liked but don’t care enough to get very far through it.
I also have a lot of <10%s for Planescape: Torment, which I imagine is because it's the sort of old game people bounce off or fail to find time to finish
Also in this case it’s a weird design decision to have four mutually exclusive achievements for getting partway through the game. If you assume even distribution none of them is going to be much above 25% unless people go and replay it several times
That also depends on if its a choice or an achievement. I'm reminded of the Telltale games' choices and stuff
I think some telltale games are the only ones I have every achievement for, because completing the game inherently does that.
I'm not sure there is a Steam game I have every achievement in
not aware of any easy way to find out

Nintendo giving raises.... Nintendo pricing a remastered game at 40 dollars instead of 60?!
w...what timeline did I suddenly warp into?
Nintendo giving raises despite lower profits is nothing new
They always treated employees well
Yeah, Nintendo isn't American
The problem is more the japanese over-working culture instead
yep also just got that
stealth in Hogwarts Legacy is pretty fun actually
They have to, they need to keep their veteran developers. This is more of "keeping them" instead of seeking new people, I guarantee these folks are probably tired of Nintendo shenanigans.
This is quite similar to Apple in a way lol, they're losing veteran developers despite not laying people off and trying to keep them.
Trying to install sims 4 on my macbook. And origin is just as shit on macbook as it is on pc
Was contemplating installing on my desktop or my laptop but.. Fuck it, I'll use my macbook for gaming
Portable gaming!
Still curious to try HOI4 this this cpu speed
How much DLC is there?
Considering it costs hundreds of pounds to play the complete version of the game, that tracks
Lots
I have only ever really looked at the base game
I bought it like, maybe a few months after it came out
Played it on a 2gb ram laptop back in the day
Wonder what the load times are now. And if there is a mod to get rid of them. A 1 minute load screen to go to the house next door was so bullshit
It's still bullshit
Sims 3 did it better
Everyone hates that
according to the first article on google which im gonna trust, £910 roughly
Jesus fuck
Sounds about right
apparently "theyre freuently discounted" but if its like 50% thats still 405
Yep
wpuld have to check steamdb for realistic estimate, and i dunno if they have a "all dlc" check
Not as bad as train simulator
its not as bad as a golden toilet, but its still full of shit
I feel so weird, going so all in on gaming on my macbook that I got for work...
I haven't turned on my desktop for ages now
Wait I can even play sims 2 apparently
Dear god I got to the main menu of sims for in like 5 seconds
I remember it taking a minute to load
Maybe even less than 5
Apple turned into a Zapp Apple
I guess, what should I expect from a 2014 game running on 2022 hardware
Doesn't feel the smoothest, but you could comfortably play at 3360x2100 resolution on ultra
Weirdly when lowering the resolution nothing got smoother
And putting it on low still had this weird microstutter
It is using the full gpu
My guess is just the rosetta translation, probably OpenGL, plus being a 2014 game on such new and different hardware
But for the kind of game this is, it is extremely playable
I am basically playing in 4k resolution so, quite impressive
My lowest resolution option is 1600p though...
So, I can't even choose to go below 1440p
I am curious how the game would run inside of Parallels
And now to mod the shit out of the sims 4 with my friends
Including multiplayer mod
We'll see how it goes with that
It's all about money, then

''thank you super mario bros, it seems the only thing you haven't drained is my bank account''

I thought the voice acting was super rough when she first started saying it but it seems like that was intentional
It's an in-universe ad, I think
the VA was the original voice of peach from the original tv show
that advert is just a bunch of references to that show lol
I happened to watch him playing a bit as well, and I should warn you, his game is very deeply modded, the base game tends to be a pretty different experience.
I thought I would mention it.
That said, that co-op mod seems very well put together, I was very impressed as to how seamless it seems to work
Thing is about Hogwarts Legacy is the developer has a proven track record, even with licensed IP (Avalanche made the Toy Story 3 game which was actually great) and is a popular IP with the general populace. Outside of outliers picking apart things not actually related to the game the reviews for the game itself are almost exclusively positive. Any online controversy isn’t going to filter down to the average person who will see the game and think “I loved the books/movies as a kid, maybe I’ll pick this up to relive my youth/show this world off to my own kid”. In the end, it’s selling well because it’s a good game regardless of anything else.
it's "good" in a very safe and familiar way, but yeah for general audience sales purposes it does what it needs to do
Hey the fact it’s not a total broken mess counts as a win in the AAA sphere nowadays… sadly
there's some oof aspects of the game's own story but most of the problem is still external to the game
and we should avoid digging into that any more since those external problems are severe enough that even trying to talk about the game makes many of us uncomfortable
no i was watching his older stream, not the more recent randomiser streams
yeah it’s meant to be a low budget in universe commercial, sorta like the Ghostbusters commercial
Ultimately my backlog is massive anyway, should get back to Fire Emblem Engage but the Metroid Prime remaster already being out is making juggling my backlog even harder…
and I'm playing none of the above
I also have Tokyo Xanadu eX+ on my plate too as I basically fell in love with anything made by Nihon Falcom, including the massive Trails series which has been a trip playing that behemoth
Oh, got it
Rimworld is too real
But also totally fake because congenital things are present from birth
Could it mean they had it from birth but only had it diagnosed at 9?
That's not really how rimworld works
Behind the scene it assigns diseases randomly every year
I see
Lol
this is such weird drama
''we'll fight. power is in the truth''
bro literally just change the name
Im convinced at this point this either is extreme incompetence or a scam gone wrong
Hell yeah
The fact that they announced the name without actually owning the trademark or copyright to that name is just... really incompetent. That is one of the most basic things you have to do, actually owning the rights to your chosen name.
Speculations say that Nintendo may be ready to finally move to a next gen console around late 2024~2025
This is due to the fact that they aren’t announcing any more new significant major titles and now are focusing on remake/remasters
Yeah thats been the rumor for a while. The direct basically confirmed it
Also since nintendo wont be at E3 this year. (Probably cause there’s nothing else to really show at this time)
i glitched my way out of the map in dead space...
That Nintendo stuff is kinda gonna get blown out if Nintendo announce a ton of stuff for the second half of 2023 in a June Direct. Predicting Nintendo has always been a fools errand.
I wouldn't be shocked if when the time comes they keep the Switch around (or at the very least, the Lite) as a cheap alternative to whatever they have as a follow up, the 3DS filled that role briefly at the Switch's launch (the handheld still had a fair chunk of games in 2017 after all). Certainly would cover some bases anyway.
Generally speaking console makers will have games support the previous console for at least 1-2 years before dropping support for it
Well unless you’re the Wii U anyway >_>
whoa!
i have a GBA SP but I lost the charger for it long ago
Actually early SP models were kinda frontlit, backlit models didn’t come until later
I still have the original gba
i played the shit out of LttP on my GBA SP
Shout out to Astro Boy: Omega Factor on GBA, a great title from the masters at Treasure
I also have the original purple gamecube
My launch day GameCube controller still works perfectly, I’ve even used it playing Smash Ultimate.
My wireless gamecube controller from 04 also still works
Meanwhile Switch controller : you used me for 3 whole months? Time for a new one!
Part of the issue with that i found out is all new controllers for consoles are made by one company who cheaped out on parts
The same issue also occurs with ps5 controllers and xbox
https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/gaming/nintendo-cant-make-a-drift-free-switch-controller-so-this-company-made-their-own-gamecube-version/ar-AA16bjwi which is why im a fan of third party
There’s actually a specific Switch gamepad I recommend
The 8BitDo Ultimate controller has Hall effect sensors and it’s an excellent Switch style gamepad

seriously their timing is great
I don't get why either of these things are funny?
Pat previously had shit on Arcana Heart Love Max when they played it before in their channel and in a subsequent playthrough that notification that the game had finished installing on his console popped up
And then in their DMC3 playthrough the notification that DMC4 had finished installing popped up while they were finishing the game which wasn't meant to happen and they never really said whether or not they were gonna get through DMC4 but that gave it away, it's also funny because it's the exact same thing that happened twice already
it's also just funny since the game is really weird in itself
Ah, okay, so it kinda requires context before you can understand the joke.
Sure, they're funnier with context but they're funny by itself as well

|| also hey you can see a little bit of the zero suit peeking through there, that's a neat detail ||
...Yeah, she does look a little weird without the helmet, ngl.
Yeah I don't feel like they really thought about the specific logistics of her suit, the proportions are super off
To be fair her suit is doable and some cosplayers make it look super tight
I mean that second one is perfect
but the games tend to exaggerate her proportions
Lol ain't no way
Honestly if they made her head a little bigger, it could look way better.
Yeah definitely
you'd still need to tweak some of her proportions and stuff but the head definitely needs to be bigger
the Dread suit does a great job at looking super cool and threatening but also like someone would realistically fit inside
and it looks great man Dread suit is the best suit she's had
agree
I like the classic Varia suit better, but like those cosplayers are doing up there.
Then again, I first found out about Metroid from the OG Metroid Prime...2, so there's that.
Never seen or played Dread.
I mean sure Varia suit is probably Samus' most iconic timeless look, I like the one from Samus Returns the best
....but then again Dread has a super slick Varia suit

If you like roguelikes, this may interest you.

never heard of it
I had tons of fun with it on PS5 (it was an exclusive) and it makes fantastic use of the PS5 dualshock controller's features such as variable resistance. It's quite hard, though.
Basically you can think of it as "What if third person Metroid Prime but it's a roguelike with mild bullet hell mechanics?"
ok I definitely see the appeal
And the story is pretty cool
roguelites are inherently eeeeeeh for me but if I didn't have fifty other things to play maybe
is Mario in it
(sorry, that joke's kinda worn out)
it’s worn out when i say it’s worn out
Oh interesting. They initially announced that the PC port of Returnal would need 32GB of RAM, but they seem to have quietly bumped that down to 16GB sometime in the past month.
I wont get it at launch, but Returnal is something I eventually want to play
It's pretty neat because the 3D world is randomly arranged on each iteration.
(im just kidding ill try to cut back sorry Ix)
Don't see that much in 3D
And I think it's closer to a Roguelike than a roguelite because you always start out with the same stats and equipment when you respawn
The only persistent thing is the parts of the world that you unlock, but once you reach those unlocked gates again they'll hand you some appropriate gear for that level so you don't have to grind
I saw an... interesting... video about Atomic Heart
all I know about the game myself is that it's been in development for quite some time and I have personally followed it close to the time it was first announced and teased
(I only know what's been posted here)
Nobody really knew much about that game until their last trailer/teaser, especially with those robot twins who came out of absolute nowhere
I'm pretty sure those two were created with the sole purpose of marketing the game or making it more appealing
I could link you the video I'm talking about if you'd like, I'm still unsure about it myself and would like to see how the situation around it develops and mostly if the game is actually good or not, but it has a lot of weird political stuff going on in the background
It's definitely not worth trying to decode much of it now that it's a week from release for me
Probably not appropriate then
If there is any analysis of worth, it's probably going to be done after the game is released anyway
i hadnt heard of Atomic Heart until right this moment
ah, it's been popping up here for several months
The one thing I can say about the game with authority, is that it has banger trailers
Mario, you should learn to mod so you can add mario to all these games
anyway, what little I've seen so far was mostly rumors with no meaningful evidence, so at this point it's best to not even acknowledge the subject
Even if the game flops, they should reinvent that company and sell their services into making trailers for other companies
but in general, if something comes up that is substantial and warrants mod policy decisions, feel free to DM one of us
there's a company that does that, but I can't remember the name of it
they did the TOR trailers and had work in love death and robots
There are political things about Atomic Heart? I just recall it being kinda neat looking IIRC
I mean, that's up to you guys whether something is substantial enough or not, I'm just saying, I don't know much about it myself and I only found out about some stuff recently but I'm of the opinion that if anything really important is going on behind the scenes the internet will inevitably find out about it and the internet will do what they will do
I'm on the fence here, I'm gonna wait until the game comes out and see if it's actually good since I have been thinking it's been on dev hell for a long time
I wasn't even sure if the game was ever going to even come out

I mean, you should wait regarless of anything else, because it's an unknown developer apparently making an extremely high profile title
With so far, relatively little info on its quality
do people still say "stop preordering video games"?
Apparently Atomic Heart is coming out in six days
because everyone should still not do that
Yes
Reddit does still, tiringly, say this.
and it's not like video game preview content has ever been reliable for any game, new developer or otherewise
A preorder is just a loan with no interest that you give out
….huh
it might be a hot take but if you buy it on day one you might as well preorder it
like, there's no difference
There's some difference. On day one some reviews are already out
you shouldn't buy it on day one before the reviews either, but that's not as snappy
Usually some reviews are out before day one.
i only preorder games im 100% sure ill like
Yeah
which and how many reviews you wait to see is of course entirely a personal decision, likely based on which reviewer you're waiting for
There are people who get to games early and probably have reviews up by day one already
right, review embargos are a thing and may or may not be set to expire pre-release
does "preview reviews" sound like an oxymoron or is it just me?
I usually just say previews
same
I mean, the thing with reviews is that reviews aren't really worth that much these days. It's very hard to tell whether a review is accurately capturing the game for you, unless it's s specific person or persons you trust
But previews are just reviews too so it's fine by me
I mean, we have trailers for trailers now, including trailers that are previewing the trailer in the trailer they're attached to
those are so weird
at some point we're going to get a whole film that's nothing but trailer
Trailer trailers are the worst
make it about optimis prime for max trailer trailer

Please remove your trailer trailers from the trailer video that I am actively watching.
tbh this was always the case, at least as long as I've been consuming reviews; if anything the internet's made it much easier to find and follow a specific reviewer that works for you
Samus will return in Guardians of the Galaxy 3
that was such a good shadow drop
Trailer trailers at the start of the trailer are of course one of the things that are actually YouTube’s fault
Gotta get the message across in under five seconds
Maybe they should put the message in the thumbnail and title
My top complaint about Prime Remastered is that they got the door textures wrong.
Aside from that, 10/10
huh, are those the MP3 doors?
The original dev is also pissed about that, haha
Not quite, they're sorta a hybrid
Aaaa y’all I really hope they do Prime 2 remaster
One playthrough of the first game and I’m hooked
2 and 3. Rumor has had it for a while now that 2 and 3 are just getting simple ports, unfortunately.
I'm almost regretting having replayed the trilogy so recently because now all this Metroid hype is just going over my head
But who knows.
I mean if it’s a way to play them I’ll take it
Prime 1 Remaster finished development in 2021, it turns out.
It's so pretty though
But also I watched a video comparison and it really only made me better appreciate how the Prime games aged so well
The original still looks fantastic
I'm the type that's blind to graphical fidelity, I honestly can't tell the difference between the new remaster and the Wii version I recently emulated
In this video we take a look at the differences between the original Metroid Prime on Nintendo GameCube and the newly released Remaster.
#gaming #metroidprimeremastered #gamespot
Nintendo surprised dropped Metroid Prime Remastered during February's Nintendo Direct. Nintendo and Retro Studios classic Metroid title is now available on Nintendo S...
everything I noticed in the clips posted here as a "ooh, that looks cool" like visor reflections and water effects and the like is also something I specifically remember already being there
they sat on it for two years?
Yep.
switch 2 confirmed
it's already manufactured and waiting to ship!
I want to believe
There had been claims for a while that they were just sitting on a remastered trilogy, waiting for Prime 4 to have a foreseeable release window.
But also it's kinda impressive how this never leaked from any reliable source at any point despite the Prime 1 Remaster having been worked on by TEN STUDIOS
whoa
Just what the fuck were they doing
Nintendo recently is very good at anti-leaking it seems
I could see the whole thing being remastered
every couple of months they release a new remastered prime
I really hope the entire trilogy is remastered. And Switch 2 better be backwards-compatible and capable of running this game internally at 4K.
then, at the same interval as the past releases, they shadow drop prime 4
I think there were only few things that got actually leaked in last direct, Samba and Ghost Trick and Kirby I think were leaked?
Pokemon seems to leak a lot for some reason
Other than those I think none were 'leaked'
holy cow i hope the Switch successor is backwards compatible
Like some had rumors but
Just let me play metroid prime without dragging my gamecube out of storage
I’m just excited to experience what for me is new Metroid experiences
I would be furious if they did all this work and the next console can't run the Prime trilogy at a native 4K resolution.
And i don't have a wiiu anymore
No one, literally not a single person ever expected that they would announce a new Layton
i hope i can transfer my digitally downloaded games
It seems unlikely it would be able to do that. Maybe if you pay another $50.
They would just release this at the end of the console's life and just be like "okay, that's trapped in the past forever now"
I definitely heard a lot of news about how Layton was cancelled and his ashes were crushed and strewn about the ocean
Switch 2 confirmed for being an elder god I guess, what with the ashes in the ocean
Then they did a brilliant job of reassembling him
at this point I'm half-expecting exactly this to happen because the industry feels determined to make as many consoles as possible have one exclusive I care about
There were speculations that MP4 may be one of the major launching titles of Switch 2
Fuck it I'm gonna drag my gamecube out of storage
(and then I gave up and emulated everything)
The Prime trilogy deserves to be appreciated in 4K HDR
I actually expect this at this point. It makes a lot of sense.
maybe i should actually start playing Prime
They might want to see if MP series is good enough for a launching title by randomly throwing MP1 remaster
Though i think my disc is one of the first edition ones that has defects
MP4 being a release title for Switch 2 might actually make sense
considering that zelda is dropping itself onto Switch 1
so excited for TotK

has there been any rumors about a new mario game?
TotK, a new Mario, and MP4 were the strongest expectations
sadly no :<
We already got TotK, Mario we have zero news
Super Mario brothers the Movie the Game
MP4 is the most likely rn
And then they can do the same thing with Odyssey with Mario game
Nintendo is probably focusing on the movie for Mario atm
Release it the next holiday after the console launch
I would take another year’s delay on new Zelda if it would launch on anything but the Switch.
OMG
It seems the industry expects a Switch 2 in 2024?? Allegedly there's some prototype hardware floating around now and some financial analysts seem to think that's the plan.
the Mario movie is only 2 months away holy shit
Zelda has a track record of being super delayed and eventually becoming double-console title
It is likely that it will be around late 2024~early 2025
that gives me time to save money :3
At that point all the DLCs will be done
To be honest what would you really do for another Mario game?
If I were Nintendo that would be my target at this stage.
I almost wonder if it won't be sooner tbh
They can also buy time to release a DLC for Pokemon
if e3 was happening, they'd probably announce it there
people have been saying this since SM64 lol
Holiday 2024 would be the ideal time
Have there been any new Mario games that do the classic 2d platformer thing?
I know Mario Maker is like that
It's been a while since they released a 2D Mario, yes
they could do a 2d mario for a new mario game I suppose
There are infinite possibilities
It's also been a while since we got a 2D Zelda, except the LA remake
Yeah Link's Awakening def counts
Unfortunately I could see this being the case.
But tbh Zelda feels right to be 3D-exclusive kinda
the Link’s Awakening remake is good
It is pretty good
Oracle is fucked up because of who owns it
Twilight Princess remake in the same style. /s
One big hope I have is that they directly continue the VC service in NSO to the Switch 2
Like inherit the thing directly
it is genuinely weird that Zelda 1 never got a Zero Mission style remake.
And honestly it might be the case
Zelda 1 is amazing you it’s just held back by how cryptic it is at times
something that plagued a lot of NES games
Since it would be stupid if they announced bunch of GB/GBA games and then just move on to Switch 2 ditching them
There are many things that need to be pulled forward from Switch to the successor. Because otherwise Nintendo's software strategy would be completely asinine.
Unrealistically so, yeah.
Golden Sun my beloved.
Meanwhile people speculate that there will be the 2nd set of Splatoon 3 DLC
Yo I broke the channel
I kind of hope the switch 2 launches with a netflix like subscription thing where you can download and play all sorts of older games without waiting for a remaster
two sets of two waves each, making it total of 4
What would be horrible is if Nintendo decides to run the Switch platform and the successor platform in parallel.
relevant json? Jason is never relevant 1
Late to this but Zelda 1 did technically get a remake
it's japan exclusive though
if you ask me it's more surprising that ALTTP never got a remake or remaster
oh right BS Legend of Zelda (is what i assume you’re talking about)
I have played ALTTP before but never could get into it a whole lot but it'd be nice for those who have played it and would like to see that game improved upon or enhanced
the next zelda being a 2d one would be a fascinating choice
I feel like if there's any big dev that would definitely take chances like that it'd be Nintendo
even if it's just a 'small' release
we probably won’t get a new Zelda for a while
Ehhhh give it like, 5 years
Depends on what fandom you're a part of
Yeah they could release a 'small' 2d zelda game
I have a nice Link's Awakening scroll thingy to hang on the wall that a friend gifted me
it wouldn't surprise me if they're working on an oracle thing, fucked though it is
and a TP poster
they remake Zelda II shocking everyone
So here's the thing
simply because it's kind of a lost zelda
They actually planned to do a Zelda 1 remake.
Oracle Zelda have a cult following of sorts but they're definitely on the less popular side
They ended up developing a new game instead of remaking the original.
That game
Or, games
Are the Oracle Zelda.
epic
that's not too uncommon of an occurence in game development
it kind of convinces me that they must be working on a follow up spyro
why promote the ip at all if they're not?
That is pretty interesting
And with 2023 copyright

Which makes that new art and all
new spyro comes out but it's a dating sim
actually, looking at the account it looks like they did a thing for christmas, and they did a thing for last christmas, but not last valentines day
very interesting
Oh my god I can't with Hi Fi Rush's twitter post for valentine's day
https://twitter.com/GamesDoneQuick/status/1625644809187631110

What better way to spend Valentine's Day than with Game Masters!
Starting now, @xemmypoo is showcasing not one, not two, but THREE Ratchet and Clank Runs for us tonight!
Who knows, there might even be a surprise or two mixed in 😉
Just too cute
I should get a ps5
play clank
play horizon dawn. all the games.
are consoles compatible with computer monitors these days?
modern advertising would suggest they would be?
Bethesda: we love modders, they keep our games alive and well for decades! We added mod support in game to every major title in the past decade
Valve: we literally don't care about copyright, inspiring our fandom is what helps our business and games grow, we've basically abandoned our copywrite protection and given people our animation assets for free, causing a large community of talented animators!
Nintendo: I will ban you from life for modding and put you into debt if you say Mario's name
PS5 only recently has 1440p support, that's the only outliner to using a monitor.
Who would win: an entire O'Driscoll camp
Or one TB boy with a shotgun hole though his chest
(I slaughtered the entire camp in that mission)
Doesn't PS5 support 4k?
It does, but it did not initially support 1440p
(Well it supported it by downscaling 4K, but not directly)
Isn't the PS5 supposed to be a powerful high resolution console?
1440p is a weird resolution for a television, which is what consoles expect to be used with
So not exactly a priority.
That’s the wrong aspect ratio so I might guess no but no idea
It's like Peach said, I don't think many TVs are 1440p, they mostly went from 1080p -> 4k.
However more people are playing consoles on their monitors and 1440p is a more common resolution, not sure if 4k monitors have really taken off yet.
So that and the combination of Xbox supporting 1440p put enough pressure for Sony to finally add support.
Hanzo. Behave.
fwiw, I believe my new laptop is 1440p (I'm at work so can't double-check)
Remastered is now available for free to those who own Cities: Skylines on Console!

#1038892073471987762 for details.
Ooh, they have Red Dead Revolver. That was such a fun game.
I thought so too
They need the town with no name
I speedrun that game, beat it in 12 seconds. Yes it was the Any% category >_>
I still need to play revolver
I like the headcanon that Red Harlow changed his name to "the oneshot kid" to avoid fame and ended up as Uncle in RDR1+2
I remember when Sony did all those memes
Rockstar likes to make its sequel games have characters and reference events from earlier ones. Some of the earlier GTA games aren't canon to 5, but something similar to what happened in the early games also happened in 5's timeline. That may also be true for Redemption and Revolver. Revolver may not be canon to Redemption, but a version of the events probably did occur, just with some differences to allow Rockstar to build the new game's world and history how they want to.
I also find it extremely likely that Uncle was, in his youth, Redemption's timeline's version of Red.
sounds like Witcher continuity, but on purpose

Urmum
these default TF2 pfps are priceless
they will forever stand the test of time
fuck :<
but I do have some sympathy for Valve here, inasmuch as the TF2 community huffs the copium like no other while seeming oblivious to the fact it's playing a game released in 2007 that received major updates from Valve itself until 2017
that's a little bit unwarranted
What does it matter if the game released in 2007? So many people use that as an argument for others to stop playing TF2 and I will never understand
game is really good, has an active community, it's profitable
I think you're arguing against a subtext different than the intended subtext
what that phrasing says to me is not that the game's not worth playing, but that no one should expect active development/updates/patches after this long
lots of unmaintained games are still worth playing
Well no I'm just saying other people have used the game's age as an argument for something else than what the post is talking about
Minecraft is a 2009 game (technically), and millions of people still play it, and Mojang has promised to keep updating it until A) the end of the world, or B) the playerbase dies, which is the less likely of the two.
I still don't feel like it's a valid argument to even stop updating the game it's clearly popular enough and profitable enough to warrant keeping updating it
right, that's up to Valve
I'm only claiming there's a reasonable argument to not expect further updates
I just feel like the wording of that article is a little harsh for no reason, what with the TF2 community inhaling copium and stuff
that’s really heccin cool but a teensy bit disappointing to me, I’ve always thought about what a potentially fully complete Minecraft would look like but I guess that’ll never happen
Like yeah of course a very dedicated, active community is going to be understandably excited at any news about the game they love
it's not 'huffing copium' like the article says
Also, can I just say how much I despise the word "copium"? Especially given that so many people use it in a sarcastic or "HA! Take that!" sort of way, and it comes across as childish and very dickish.
what would "a fully complete Minecraft" even be?
Minecraft will never truly be "complete", because that's not in its design. It was never designed to be "complete" because it's unending.
Yeah I'm honestly happy for Minecraft's community since it seems like most of the additions are actually pretty nice
plus you can always just.. go back to any version you like the most
There's still people who refuse to update past 1.7.10 because of the combat mechanics.
smh Minecraft should have stopped updating at Beta 1.3 smh
If you played MC on 2009 and don't wanna play anything other than the beta versions where there's not even a hunger meter hey
as long as you're happy
but yeah it's a bummer to hear that the update sized update is just a holiday sized update
Why even make a blog post about it then?
Something's weird
Technically, every update that you choose to stay on is the "feature complete" game.
For example, the Legacy Console Edition stopped at 1.13, and is thus "feature complete" for that version (even though the updates obviously continued on other editions).
many people felt Beta 1.7.3 was feature-complete, but if you went back to it, most people would find it very incomplete
you don't know you're missing something until you get rid of it 🙂
I'm curious what "the average player" wants out of Minecraft these days
guns, DRM, and limiting the map height to 7
since I don't play it, only watch one LP of it, my perspective on the game is firmly locked onto how Etho experiences the game, for whom it's great and mods are great but vanilla's biggest problem these days is inventory management now that there are so many items in total
i want more dungeons and stuff!!! like with minibosses and loot!!!! like a zelda dungeon!!!!
but I doubt every player needs to have 100+ of every block properly categorized
I feel like Minecraft is the same case as DayZ was
There's a lot of different types of players who want very different things out of the game
DayZ had a bunch of different ways to play the game all focused on different things entirely
Minecraft does make it very easy to just ignore the parts you're not into

i also want another End update!!!! with more biomes and stuff like the Nether update!!!!!
Good video recommend even if you're not into DayZ or know anything about it, it's a great watch
"even if" heh, I watch the most video essays on games I don't play because I don't know what they're like
The long and short of it like the thumbnail suggest is that yeah DayZ had a bunch of different things like PvP focused servers or basebuilding focused or just classic survival roaming around focused stuff so you had all these different ways of playing the game and I get the feeling Minecraft is extremely similar to that
Womble has a 3 part essay about DayZ that is also really interesting to watch so there's that too if you like that one
another ore would be cool!!!! like a tier between stone and iron!!!!
Better inventory management is a HUGE debate in the fandom. Not many people can agree on what is the best way to do it (beyond just making the inventory bigger, but that doesn't solve the underlying issue). Shulker boxes were a big help, but again, space wasn't the issue, it was management of that space that needed fixing. Mojang's attempt at it was the bundle, but to many players, it feel very flat on its face, and thus the bundle remains an unfinished, unobtainable item (you can get it from commands).
Some mods have tried to fix the issue, but it's still a mess.
that did indeed lack a statement of the actual problem, but such things are difficult to pin down
i think the inventory is good!!! maybe a bit bigger would be nice though!!!
but I think you're pointing at the same thing Etho's usually miffed by (despite going full shulker box engineer on it)
so I'm gonna take a crack at explaining it as
As for updates, here's a quick list of updates that, according to the majority of the fandom, are a top priority:
- End Update
- Structures Update
- Biome Update (what the Wild Update was supposed to be...)
- Mob Update
- Combat Update v2 (this is confirmed to be coming)
Updating old structures to be better-designed and more in-line with the more modern ones, yes.
even if you have space for every item you need, the total number of item types you need to switch between to do all the interesting stuff is just so high that you spend far too much time trying to find items in your inventory/chests/shulkers/storage compared to time spent doing stuff with those items
does that sound right?
Yes, that's basically the main issue with the inventory, plus there also just so many items to pick up.
the plumbing update
you can have sinks now
and bath tubs and if you dont bathe you are stinky and mobs run away from you
That would also imply toilets, and Mojang had to go on record that they would never add poop to the game.
Believe me...it gets requested a lot, particularly by kids aged 4-8...
I feel like there's little one could do about that type of stuff if the problem is that it takes too long to find the items because there's just so much stuff
personally, more biomes and mobs feels like the safe, easy answer to an endless stream of content: there are nearly endless ways to make a new biome or mob feel different and serve some non-zero gameplay purpose, without threatening any of the existing stuff
dont remind me how many times i've left a stack of <insert mining junk here> floating on the floor to despawn in a mine because i needed room for one more stack of ore.
boooo
making combat better or making structures stay interesting for more than five minutes after the update seem like much harder problems
i want giant sentient poop monsters like Binding of Isaac
and I doubt are truly solveable now that the game has this much inertia in its current state
...Oh my f*ck, I think I just solved the inventory issue. Right here, right now, it just came to me.
I feel like adding modern stuff would kinda take away from the core feeling of survival from MC
even though that survival aspect got kinda lost
the funny thing is that people already do modern styled houses with minecraft and have done so in the past already too
Sounds like bronze, which you would make by mixing copper with something like tin. Or perhaps make it possible to make copper tools.
guys i just got the Gerudo outfit in BotW i forgor how cute Link looks in it
yeah something like that would be cool!

Fun fact : Terraria has both sinks and toilets
That just makes me want something like Tinkers Construct added to the base game
F*ck, never mind, I thought I had actually solved the issue and was typing it out, but as I was doing that more problems cropped up, so it looks like it was a false alarm.
welcome to my job!
Sounds fun.
I've seen people use Tinkers Construct in videos but I never really "got" the appeal of most of the systems in it, besides having a lot more finer-grained tiers of tools?
When I played the game the first time around, I got mods that turned the game into what Factorio ended up being.
Tinkers tools never break
and you get unique traits based on the combinations of metals and alloys you use for each part
I NEED the Create Mod added to the base game. It's perfect in every way, and very Minecraft-y.
I will die on this hill.
I’m pretty sure this is in relation to a recent statement by Valve that was at least interpreted as meaning that they were working on a major new patch.
Sadly, Tinkers Construct is Forge only, no Fabric support, and hasn't been updated to 1.19.
For those who don't know about the Create Mod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR8W-f9YhYA
It was due time to revisit our Cake assembly line for a few touch ups!
Create is a powerful Minecraft mod nearing three years of Development. It adds a variety of useful building tools, as well as technology based on kinetics and rotational power. It is a free-time open-source project by a bunch of Minecraft players who love the creative aspect...
Anyway, there can be perfectly good reasons to stop development on a game that you’ve supported and move on to something new, such as being able to make deeper and more significant changes than you could otherwise. Paradox games come to mind here, even if there still isn’t an EUV apparent.
Gosh, I'd love a pseudo-vanilla MC server with simple things like Tinkers that add more depth to the tool system and whatnot.
Nothing ridiculously over the top like Applied Energistics or Immersive Engineering, or Sevtech...but things like Tinkers and Farmer's Delight. Nice simple expansions on things like tools and food, like a Vanilla+.
Automation is awesome, but it can get complicated quickly, and it ain't for everyone.
You don't have to go all the way with automation like in the video. If you want, you can just use all the cool devices to make some really nice decorative builds or to upgrade your farms a bit.
You can make windmills, trains, harvesters, mining vehicles (but you need rails for them to work so they aren't completely overpowered), and much more.
I play Factorio, so complication is not exactly a put-off.
Is fun looking at what is in a Minecraft world but having to manually make stuff (especially essentials) was a bit of a grind.
See, I don't usually like a lot of automation, but something about Create's automation just feels so RIGHT, and so unique compared to a lot of other mods and modpacks.
And, again, you don't have to go crazy about it. You can have light automation, you can have heavy automation, or you can have none at all.
Or you can use those same machines to create a drawbridge, or a monorail, or a highly-sophisticated train system to take you to far away bases, and so much more.
That's why the mod isn't called Automate, it's called Create.
Oh! You can even do silly things with it, like creating a catapult highway that launches you from catapult to catapult. Why? No reason!

I got my hands on God of War PC (someone gifted it to me)
2018?
yes
Not the best on item collection but this game is tough with it
Is that Fusion?
That game is a lot of fun
It 100% is
I am very satisfied with the daddening of video games in recent years
Dad arcs are usually just kind of awesome
IIRC Fusion has a lot of items you can't get on the first pass and have to actively do a "cleanup" run for
Yeah I remember a video I've seen before talking about that and how it kinda sucks (at least for the person in the video)
personally I don't mind either way
granted it's been a very long time since I played Fusion
but I enjoy cleanup runs in good Metroidvania games
and IIRC the biggest reason it's like that is because as the story progresses the station changes in several ways that make previous areas temporarily inaccessible, which is excellent for story immersion and making backtracking interesting when they become accessible again
actually, better way to put it
which is funny considering most of the praise I hear for Metroid is how open it is and how little the game forces you to go in certain places and how much you can backtrack any time you wish
which is still mostly true
For example, one of those story events is the ice X entering a sector you've been to before, at a time when you're still vulnerable to ice. You can still go to that sector, but they'll probably kick your ass if you try it.
Metroidvania games should either ensure all the items are collectable on the first pass, and anything missing at the end truly was missed, or (what's more typical) have enough not-accessible-at-first items that there's enough to do during a cleanup run at the end; having to wander all over the world again for only 2-5 missing items would be kinda lame. How many "mandatory leftover" items is enough for that to be fun? Obviously depends on the game, but I doubt it needs to be higher than 10%.
Metroid 2 Remake also had sections that were only accessible after you || rescue? the little metroid baby || and it helps you access those areas with weird crystal things
It didn't super bother me at first but I understand from the perspective of a metroid player who is used to exploring everything with no restrictions at all it would be annoying
"The baby."

God, Other M's plot was ASS.
I'm confused by the claim that Metroid players are used to going anywhere with no restrictioins
half the experience of a Metroidvania is seeing lots of doors and ledges and platforms you can't access until you get some ability later in the game
why does she have the Batman thingies
oh cuz she’s part Metroid
duh
Hands?
unless what you're trying to say is no artificial restrictions, only those which follow naturally from the player character's current abilities
no the arm blades
Sure but for example in the case of Fusion there are places that are locked off for narrative purposes
Sure it serves a purpose but compare it to Super Metroid where you can freely access any part of the map
Sure you may be missing an upgrade but after you gain that upgrade you can totally backtrack and get that thing but if that place is locked off for the moment you can't
The thing with || the metroid baby || in M2R is similar but again it didn't super bother me, I do find it super weird that it's right at the end of the game, I think the game would've been better without it tbh
I think I've lost track of what's being argued and what's merely being compared
anyway
perhaps the crux of it is that I've never been the kind of player that values freedom for freedom's sake
areas I can access but aren't fun or interesting (yet?) are of no value to me
so all of these designs are equally viable for me (given everything else is properly designed around it), and had the series always done one or he other it'd probably be a bit too same-y
What about the secret party room in Risk of Rain?
I don't know RoR
Maybe we'll have to play it together one day. It's short and fun (talking about Risk of Rain 1)
Yes
RoR might be one of the games I tried briefly during the early boom of roguelites and got quickly bored of, convincing me roguelites weren't my thing until approximately Hades
It is my favorite game of all time
bruh what the fuck: a bit of context; a few friends of mine decided to play thru aimlessly, we messed around a bit, and we somehow beat all of our records by just doing brainless shit
Dam I didn't expect splatoon 4 to come out so early
Show me what you got
Freedom Planet 2 is tight as fuck

Early Access launch is just one week away!
Kerbal Space Program 2 will be releasing in Early Access on February 24th, 2023, for an introductory price of $49.99. The game will be available on PC only during ...
Well it got 2k funding it better
Ehhh, 2K did some shady shit.
Originally they got into a beef with the studio developing this title, which is why it took longer to develop. I presume it either got the studio switched or they had to restart development.
‘Intercept Games’ yep, Star Theory died
Mac and Linux builds are planned on their roadmap apparently, so that’s awesome to hear they’re gonna support all platforms. I also presume they’ll try to bring it to consoles. They are!
Kerbal Space Program 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed space flight simulation game
Neat. Critic reviews of wild hearts seems to be pretty positive overall. Nice quote from one review: "Still, that Wild Hearts gets so much right on its first tentative step into the arena is bloody impressive. Omega Force has created the first title I’ve played that is a genuine contender in the space and they’ve done more than enough to justify Wild Hearts’ place in it. The result is something meaningfully different in a genre no one else has been able to touch. It’s kind of like if someone made a Souls-like on par with an actual Souls."
wild hearts?
Ea and koei tecmo's monster hunter competitor
I see
So far it seems like the PC port is very very bad tho, hopefully they fix it
The game seems to be pretty good
I haven't heard very bad but definitely some performance issues. But they've had an early access thing available if you had the EA game pass thing on their app, since monday, so they're already cranking out patches
https://twitter.com/SkillUpYT/status/1625763681220059136 that's what I base myself on, he also has a review up at this point
Yeah I just saw a reddit post quote that
First reply: "Saw a post on the wild hearts subreddit, apparently it is because on pc it is forced to only use a single core of your CPU (what) so it gets insanely bottlenecked. There was a devpost saying they’re aware of the issue and hoping to put a fix out within a week"
And I pretty much implicitly trust SkillUp on anything that isn't Destiny 2
Searching a bit more, this reviewer apparently is overselling the "unplayable" aspect. Quote:
"My rig is 4 years old. I have an old i5 9770k, RTX 2060 and 32gb of ddr5 (I think?) - Resolution at 1080p. Settings at medium to high. I played the trial, so not even the release client. I noticed some frame issues but nothing that made me go "this is unplayable!" I fought Ragetail and did some exploring and it was perfectly fine. I'm getting it on PS5 because objectively it'll be better on that than my rig but that's the thing with pcs, mileage may vary."
damn I thought I was having a rough time being single on Valentine day but I guess I'm still better off than this poor core
With bad ports often performance doesn't scale linarly
Also, as skillup pointed out, the problem is more noticeable in later areas.
And in co-op.
From the full review seems like the problem is a bit that larger areas are much more demanding, and a lot that in co-op, you have 4 players building a bunch of destructible towers and contraptions and the game can't handle it
And hopefully the patches they're working on resolve that
Yeah, ideally
(also it's 3 max, not 4)
I am so excited. KSP 1 has been my most played game since forever.
Hey hunters -We are very happy to see so many of you jumping in and enjoying the hunt this week! We have an update to share with you regarding some of the issues we’ve been tracking. A patch will be released next week on all platforms that addresses several issues and contains the following changes:...
Good to know, I don't currently have a MH itch, but if I happen to get one, WH is currently looking like a good option

If you are on PC, right now tho, I would advise to wait and see if they are able to actually get it to a good place if you don't have a monster PC.
I am confident that they will try at least.
Both myself and my fiancée have a 3070 and a 5600x or higher cpu. I did briefly try the trial but mostly for like 5 minutes and it felt fine
And i'm getting the codes free anyway so
Yeah apologies, I didn't mean you specifically, I meant more as a general "you" as to, whoever is interested in the game
The PC port is currently bad, it might get fixed, but waiting a bit is probably not a bad idea

Steam negative reviews seem to be exclusively performance related. Those that talk about the rest of the game are positive, by the looks of things
wow I really don't like those designs
Fortunately you don’t see any of them until the very last mission (or if you go out of your way to)
Which makes them a slightly odd marketing choice but I guess it’s thematic
what did they do to Spider-Man 😭
his 'regular' suit isn't really much better
they keep trying to reinvent Spidey's suit when it's already hit perfection
The eye shape is so weird too
his muscles look... overinflated?
He looks like he's made of rubber
Spidey what happened 😭
Meth.
SPIDER-MAN WOULD NEVER DO METH AIGNFNWNHW
@slim thorn has Spider-Man ever consumed an illegal substance on purpose in the comics
uh
Green goblin laced his coffee with meth and peter got instantly addicted
nothing jumps to mind
This is true and real I'm not making anything up
Sources: did trust me

what I can say with more confidence is that drug dealers have been Spider-Man villains more than once
in particular, what famously kicked off the death of the CCA was Stan Lee running a Spidey v drugs story at the request of the US government in spite of depicting drugs being against CCA rules
Speaking of Epic
Oh yeah comicbook characters sometimes broke the fourth wall to tell kids it ain't cool to do drugs
by modern standards, the Hays Code and the Comics Code were both hilariously prudish, yes
Did Spiderman ever fight cocaine man?
Is cocaine man made out of cocaine or does he just sell cocaine?
He gets his superpowers from cocaine
if he's made out of cocaine like sandman that's actually kinda scary
oh fuck

he's too strong
lol
this is actually hilarious
this is so fucking silly
he makes you addicted to cocaine by touching you
Drug Addiction: Cocaine
I like how that's listed under ''Other characteristics''
like it's something that's not super important
''Oh yeah also he's cripplingly addicted to cocaine''
re-reading the actual CCA rules is always funny, I think my favorites are
"Scenes dealing with, or instruments associated with walking dead, torture, vampires and vampirism, ghouls, cannibalism, and werewolfism are prohibited."
and
"Females shall be drawn realistically without exaggeration of any physical qualities."
Equipment:
Cocaine
they specifically outlawed werewolves
What is the CCA?
Comics Code Association i think
^ Comics Code Authority
not that the exact wording is too important
damn it i was so close
but in the Silver Age basically every western comic book had that CCA approval stamp
Question has Sonic done drugs?
no
Follow up, what about gun sonic?
Yes
What years were the silver age?
60s to 70s?
the ages have multiple definitions, once again TVTropes has the best explanations I'm aware of: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/TheSilverAgeOfComicBooks
i love Silver Age stuff
The Silver Age lasted from 1954note to about 1972 (although some people count everything up until 1985 as part of it, folding in The Bronze Age of Comic Books).
Ah yeah, america was a wierd place in between those years
Haha chili dogs
The Silver Age was a time of talking gorillas and super-powered pets, of covers that were created before the story and seventeen types of Kryptonite.
I just love the descriptions they used
WHY ARE THERE A TRILLION TYPES OF KRYPTONITE
"because silver age" honestly is the best answer

i wanna read Silver Age Spider-Man
I can't believe there's a Sonic character that overdosed on drugs
is it good
That's fucking hilarious
there's a reason nearly every comic I ever recommend is from the modern age, and most of the exceptions are bronze or dark age

Stan Lee's original The Amazing Spider-Man run is one of the very few silver age comics I genuinely enjoyed reading and would recommend; usually anything that old just doesn't click for me
The '50s also saw a general turn toward conservatism in American society as a reaction against the disruption of the War, and pushing the envelope or questioning social norms was frowned upon. This is most obvious when it comes to female characters, who had been more independent back in the Golden Age – this is the era when Wonder Woman became vaguely apologetic about rescuing male characters; and Lois Lane, who had been portrayed as an ambitious career woman before, decided her main goal in life was forcing Superman to marry her and becoming a housewife.
Oh woah
I mean, even Stan's written duds, or stuff that didn't age well lol
i mean yeah duh
I know, right? and the Hays code had a very similar effect on Hollywood around the same time
Man the silver age sounds whack
wow the 50s sucked if you were anything besides a straight white male huh
I mean in america sure I guess
Morality in Silver Age comics was extremely black and white; heroes in particular followed a strict, moralistic code of conduct. Since dealing with serious real-world issues was frowned upon, wacky Speculative Fiction plots that bore no relation to reality became increasingly common.
Yaaaaawn, boooring
everything makes sense now doesn't it
now that i think about it has Spidey ever questioned if what he’s doing was right or not
i cant think of any except maybe Spider-Man 2
Yeah when he was about to kill the gobbo
it's definitely come up, but the usual framing is that superheroing has a cost to his personal life and is it worth that cost
That's the first one that comes to mind to me
and yeah there's always the classic do I kill the Joker question
Gobbo
a more interesting and non-standard example might be in comic Civil War where Spider-Man was in-universe famous for (seriously actual spoilers if you might someday read it) ||publicly revealing his identity to show support for registration, and then switching to Cap's side later in the story after seeing some of the enforcement||
so ||he was on Iron Man’s side but then switched to Cap?||
Yeah I remember that one of the reasons was || when Spidey noticed Tony was spying on him and MJ when they were living with him ||
Sam Raimi just kinda stole this
/j
you know how I say the MCU has never directly adapted a specific comic storyline?
the Raimi films are much closer to their source
Absolutely
ok i adore Spider-Man 1 but Goblin’s suit is not the best and No Way Home made the right call by getting rid of the helmet Willem Dafoe already looks like a goblin man anyways
when a man dies, even a man like the goblin, it should mean something
so it doesn't mean we live in vain
funny, i thought seeing the goblin die would make me feel better about gwen
instead, it just makes me feel empty, washed out... and maybe just a little bit more alone
I like how even after this super serious dramatic moment Stan Lee can't stop himself from going "TUNE IN NEXT TIME" in the yellow rectangles

Ixrec who is the mystery man
FIND OUT ON THE NEXT ISSUE...!
to be clear I haven't read this chunk of spiderbooks myself
but I'm guessing it's Harry Osborn
oh Harry wasn’t a Raimi invention?
nope
No
for some reason i was under the impression he was
Harry has always been there
does he become the New Goblin or whatever in the comics
and MAN casting Dane Dehaan and James Franco as Harry is such an upgrade, look at this fucking creep
Like he's not actually a creep most of the times but eugh just look at him
lmao

Excellent.
