#Sharing HEIC images via Android app

I have the Immich Android app installed and want to share a photo. When I hit the "Share" button and target a WhatsApp contact, it drafts a new WhatsApp message with an attached HEIC image. Is there a way to set up Immich so the "share" function will send an image in a compatible format?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:

  • Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

Thanks for the quick response. Failing a way to do it automatically upon sharing- is there a way to manually save an image in an alternate format via Immich?

You can always right click, download the image in a web browser, it'll give you the JPG/PNG thumbnail it generated

That works!

I also can create a share link, though that only seems to work for photos owned by me. Is that the intended behavior? I would ideally like to give others permission to share any images in my album (or perhaps just across the entire server - "if you can view it, you can share it").
