#Uploading to a NAS

Hey friends. I know this question has been asked multiple times, but I'm still hitting a wall and I chalk it up to me being new to Immich/Docker and only somewhat familiar with PowerShell/cmd syntax and pathing. I have Immich up and running on my C: drive, can upload on desktop and mobile, access settings, etc. Everything good there. The issue I'm having is trying to path the upload location to my Synology NAS. Frankly I've been pulling my hair out with conflicting info between the Immich help pages, Reddit, YouTube, etc.

I'm convinced this should be pretty straightforward and I'm just getting the pathing location wrong on the docker-compose & env files. When I try to make these changes it throws the immich_server container into a reboot loop saying folders/files can't be found and I have to start over and try again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, someone might be able to help, but as a reminder we do not recommend using windows and we dont have much experience with this as its not really an immich issue

#

Make sure you are moving the existing folders to the nas to avoid the files not found error

@noble pond I understand. I chose Windows because my NAS hardware is very lacking and I already had a dedicated Windows computer to run other software like Plex and such, so I thought it would be a good fit. I originally installed the Immich files on the NAS drive but it had a weird interaction where it placed the folders in the right spot but still put the uploaded photos somewhere on the Windows computer. That's why I defaulted to keeping the Docker/Immich primary files all on the one system
