I always get this error (running inside an LXC container). I've tried inside Debian 12, 13 and Ubuntu 22. No changes to the .env nor the compose file.
I've also tried the (probably unoficial) native immich github but I always run into errors in the VChord dependency so I can't go that way either.
Btw this is in Proxmox 9.1.2
Other info: Appart from everything default I set up an static ip while creating the containers.

Details about your storege Bind mount into /mnt/storage from a usb device (1T) tho not binding it gives the same errors

This is a docker permission error. We would recommend using a VM, not LXC, as per our docs.
No way arround? Having a VM and thren a Docker container seems like a lot of overhead
I've tried using chmod 777 -R /tmp
(With no result)
It’s possible, but debugging it is mostly up to you
Ok...
FYI this recommendation comes from proxmox, not just us
