Access permission in Immich folders data or pgData via file explorer

How can I access the files as I do not have permission to access data nor pgData folder inside Immich directory? I'm aware that I need to set the permission so I can access the files but I do not know how to do it in truenas. And will immich break if I grant access to the files? I just wanted to copy photos directly from explorer and not download from the immich webui which zips the media files into one big file.

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:

You can try to add your personal truenas user to the group 568 which is the one apps use. That way you don't have to modify the file permissions.

thanks for responding. I did what you just said. Went to the credentials, clicked apps which is group 568 and added admin and my user account to that group. restarted truenas but my access is still getting denied.

How are you trying to acces these?
Though a smb share or smth similar or Through the shell/terminal?

thru smb (file explorer in windows). I was able to gain access after messing with user/groups permission in trunas. and immich still works as normal.

As long as the user "apps" still has modify permissions in TrueNAS on the "data" and for postgres dataset, the owner is "netdata", everything should work

Just use this as a backup mean, don't add files from the smb share as Immich won't pick them up (unless you use an external library with a smb share on that)
