Well

#

Can you tell more about that?

halcyon palm
#

its running it just gives me this

white python
#

Did you try to update?
Can you show your Dataset structure (Btw in the ticket specify TrueNAS or HexOS next time so it's easier for me to find it)

white python
halcyon palm
#

i just re-downloaded immich so im on the newest

#

sorry never even heard of hexos im on true nas thought thats all this discord was about my bad

halcyon palm
#

just reset it all didnt have much on it everything that was is still on my phone so didnt lose anything

#

so yea scratch

white python
#

Ok, great, but how did you install it now? Did you create new datasets?

halcyon palm
#

yea

white python
#

Can you show me what it looks like?

#

with the permissions on each dataset?

halcyon palm
white python
#

And where will the data be stored?

halcyon palm
white python
#

(sorry for asking that many questions haha)

halcyon palm
#

its needed you're fine

#

permissions what ever default is because idk how they work honestly the menu for them make no sense to me

white python
#

can you click on pgData
and share the Permission tab on the right?
Same for "Data"

halcyon palm
#

just gives this

white python
#

Ok this is fine, what about "Data"?

halcyon palm
white python
#

Yeah so can you

  1. Stop Immich
  2. Delete this Data dataset
  3. reate it again, but select the "apps" preset?
  4. Edit Immich and point it to the recreated Data dataset (if not already the case)
  5. Start Immich
#

It will probably not work, but we will fix it afterwards

halcyon palm
#

i get this when making a data set for "data" if it matters

white python
#

that's? well
Can you share the permissions on "software" and "immich" also then?

halcyon palm
#

it works now

#

it just had to be set as a app i guess

#

it does still say exited on permissions

#

do i still need to do somthing with permissions?

white python
#

but for the database it's another user (seem complicated but is somewhat logical)

white python
halcyon palm
#

not really? is it an easy fix if so i can just do it

white python
#

Well, external libraries is like you have a dataset with archive photos that you don't want to upload directly to Immich but still have immich manage them

white python
# halcyon palm my bad

Like in DataSet you have a "old photos" folder and you would have wanted to be read by immich without uploading them

halcyon palm
#

yea, i know what it is external libraries is. i mean to fix the permissions

white python
#

Oh yeah, you would just have to set an acl on the dataset (if it doesn't alreadye have one) then add the "apps" user to have modify (or read) access to the data
then apply recursively (it's a checkbox) and save

#

but if you ever want to do that and need heklp you can ask in the #truenas channel

halcyon palm
#

thanks a lot, i marked it as solved

white python
#

No problem!
