#storage template why this happens ?

I am using the following storage template.

{{#if album}}{{album-startDate-y}}{{album-startDate-MM}}_{{album}}/{{filename}}{{else}}{{y}}{{MM}}/{{filename}}{{/if}}

I am just sync (for now) the "camera" folder on smartphone.

The expected result is all asset in one folder named

YearMonth_camera

With yearmonth equal to the very first date of the oldest picture in the camera folder.
The result on server folder structure is in the attached image.

I read somewhere that this may be a race problem...

In the past, to fix this, i used to run" storage template migration" (with the same template) and everything get fixed.

But now this workaround does not work anymore.

How can i overcome this ?

What do you mean with merge album ? You mean on smartphone ? No , here there are not two (or more) just one. On server ? I don't think it is possible to merge folders and even if it would be possible, it will not reflect smartphone template.

Look at the other folder with date. Also theme are assets that are in smartphone camera folder

And no, i only have one camera folder on smartphone and i am syncing only this folder, at it is just one

Okay, but does that reflect within immich album section? Are there two albums there?

The picture is the folder structure on server. And within immich folder browser feature, it is exactly the same. While in the immich album view there are two cameras album one with uppercase one lowercase , but there are not all the other folders

Where immich android app take the folder (album) name ? Does it read it from the folder where the assets are stored on smartphone, or does it come from EXIF data on assets (or something like this, that is not folder name) ?

Like I said, merge the two albums in immich

Ok i will try. But, what about the other folder (album) in immich with only dates without the _camera ? Should i merge also them ?

I wonder if merging albums will also merge folders on server. I guess no. Am I right ?

As i said i only have one camera folder on smartphone all pictures are there. Only this folder is synced (automatically) to immich. Even if on smartphone the camera folder is just one, I have two cameras folder on server (one with upper case one with lower case) and plenty of folder with just yearmonth without _camera. This happened to my server for two user with different account and different smartphone models (one samsung one honor)

Uploaded pictures in folders with only yyyymm actualy are not assigned to camera album. Why this is happening if they are stored inside the same smartphone folder ? How to avoid this will happen again ?

At the moment , i have just camera folder in sync with immich. So it is pretty simply to fix this:us suggest, just add the unalbumed asset to camera album on immich.

But i wonder what will happen when i will sync more folder on smartphone with immich...i will be impossible to make the same trick

Are you using beta timeline or not?

Album sync is currently not yet in beta timeline

As beta time line works really better for smartphone sync. Apart this album sync as it is not implemented
