You need to replace /path/dump with the actual path to your backup file

Hey there, been there yesterday. Please share more details without your tinfoil hat is that could be theactual reason of the error.
My issue was when I was trying the same comand but gave the wrong path type, I gave it OS path (running unraid) /mnt/disk1/photos_immich/backups/immich-db-backup-1749340800015.sql.gz and it gave me the same error. Container does not see outside it's designated folder.
So I had to move the backup to the container folder and gave the container relative path: /var/lib/postgresql/data/immich-db-backup-1749340800015.sql.gz
Hope it helps, I manage to run the command, but only half th db imported as my users account came back but I saw no photos 😄

and propably please ignore my previous not as I confused myself with using psql command from within the container. I spent too much time on that. However I just restored mine DB succefuly with this exact command on my Unraid server:

| sed "s/SELECT pg_catalog.set_config('search_path', '', false);/SELECT pg_catalog.set_config('search_path', 'public, pg_catalog', true);/g" \
| docker exec -i PostgreSQL_Immich2 psql --dbname=immich --username=postgres```

aren't you launching it from within the docker container?

#

I see "~/docker2/immich-app$" in the beggining. Try to navigate manually using cd /home/mc/Downloads/ and then ls to check if you see the file from CLI

#

PS I launch the command from the host OS not from within the container CLI

#

Glad I helped. I was trying to fix mine for 3 weeks before I fixed it today 😄
