#Handling deleted photos in read-only import folders — is cleanup supported?

I’m exploring Immich as a self-hosted photo manager and really like its mobile backup features and overall design.

Before I commit, I wanted to ask: If I set up Immich to index an existing photo library as a read-only import path, and later delete some photos or folders directly on disk outside of Immich,

Will Immich automatically detect and remove those deleted photos from its library?

If not, is there any plan to support this kind of cleanup or synchronization in the near future?

Does the current import/reindex process include any way to handle missing files?

Thanks for any info — this feature is pretty important for me to keep the library tidy without manual database cleanup.

If you add an external library and assets are deleted from it. Immich will rescan at a set interval, detect they are missing and auto trash them. If they aren't added back within 30 days the asset is permanently deleted.

Perfect Thanks.
Does it also detect Doubles or Similar photos on front end that can be deleted via GUI or manually?

Ok thanks. I might run all through something like dupeGuru before setting the path then.
Thanks. I'll support and purchase server plan.
