#Motion Pictures just plays a black screen

I've attached a screen recording of the problem. When I hover over the play button of the preview, the motion picture works. However, when I open the motion picture and click the play button, it just shows a black screen. I tried this on the mobile app, and it works flawlessly. The problem only occurs on the web app 😭

Which browser? You might be trying to play a format that it doesn't support

tired crypt
#

edge browser

#

microsoft edge*

#

Do you mind to upload this related motional photo?

waxen pecan
#

Be sure to zip it up because discord will destroy any relevant artefacts @tired crypt

tired crypt
#

alright sure sorry for the late replies

weak sierra
#

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this. Do you have non-default image and video transcoding settings?

tired crypt
#

video transcoding settings is customized

waxen pecan
#

....such as?

tired crypt
#

heres my settings

waxen pecan
#

What are the allowed codecs?

tired crypt
waxen pecan
#

Yeah I can't replicate this even with the settings 👀

#

in edge even

#

Have you tried a different browser?

#

If that does nothing, try going into the admin section -> Jobs and select "missing" on video transcodes

#

check the docker logs afterwards

tired crypt
#

alright do you have a browser in mind to try?

waxen pecan
#

Firefox ?

tired crypt
#

uh

#

it somehow fixed itself?

#

i was browsing through help desk support and found this config somewhere i already forgot and decided to put it on my nginx proxy manager proxy_request_buffering off;

thats what i've done while installing "chrome" as per your suggestion to try a different browser

#

idk if that does anything

#

but i didnt do anything else

#

and it somehow works now even on edge

#

most of my motion videos work too

waxen pecan
#

Chrome and edge are the same thing though

#

Could it be your transcode jobs were still running?

tired crypt
#

no jobs were running

waxen pecan
#

I guess it was a proxy thing after all

#

FYI this is why "try direct IP" is one of the first things on the list

tired crypt
#

i've had this experience since reinstalling immich 2 weeks ago

#

i tried local, via tailscale magic dns, and through domain (npm)
