my homelab is behind a cgnat so im kinda running a reverse proxy but i tried with localhost and same problem

Which browser? You might be trying to play a format that it doesn't support

Have you tried a different browser?
If that does nothing, try going into the admin section -> Jobs and select "missing" on video transcodes
check the docker logs afterwards

i was browsing through help desk support and found this config somewhere i already forgot and decided to put it on my nginx proxy manager proxy_request_buffering off;
thats what i've done while installing "chrome" as per your suggestion to try a different browser
idk if that does anything
but i didnt do anything else
and it somehow works now even on edge
most of my motion videos work too
Chrome and edge are the same thing though
Could it be your transcode jobs were still running?
it wasnt
no jobs were running
I guess it was a proxy thing after all
FYI this is why "try direct IP" is one of the first things on the list
