Information

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:

  • Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
  • Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
  • Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
  • Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
  • Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).
  • The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
  • Any other information that you think might be relevant.

Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.
Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close command, and re-open it later if needed.

Storage question

@solemn spear the info the bot asks for please.

#

i.e. docker compose, env, df -h, any info on your host os etc

solemn spear
austere viper
#

Ok so you used ./library and ./postgres for the environment variables?

solemn spear
#

Yep

austere viper
#

And what is your host... debian? Proxmox? macos? unraid...?

solemn spear
#

Debian, ubuntu 24.04

#

I spent an hour searching to find how I can expand the library size, but found little to nothing .

austere viper
#

alright, what's the output of: sudo lsblk and sudo df -hT

#

and lastly sudo snap list

solemn spear
austere viper
#

snap docker is your issue here

#

Do you have any other containers other than immich?

solemn spear
#

No, at least not yet

austere viper
#

Would you like to start over or do the migration of your settings etc?

#

if it's less than a day old, start over is WAY less hassle and potential issues 😛

solemn spear
#

Yay, 3rd time

austere viper
#
sudo apt remove --purge docker
sudo apt install docker-ce
#

this will install the non-snap docker

#

(also, snap is an unholy beast and needs to die)

solemn spear
#

I know

solemn spear
#

It shows the full 750gigs

austere viper
#

YOu mounted the correct directory?

#

(I just noticed the 100G size of your root partition)

solemn spear
#

I guess so

#

I'll find out when I unload my phones images

solemn spear
#

Correction, why would immich be there?

austere viper
#

If your UPLOAD_LOCATION directory wasn't properly set it will put it in /var/lib/docker/volumes/... which is typically on / unless you have lvm separated that

#

please note that "on the root partition" does not mean "on the / root directory"

solemn spear
#

So, I went through and manually installed and configured docker. I used the experimental command, which works flawlessly, and now have and see all my storage. Now it works just fine, with little to no issues at all.
