I don’t know, I haven’t heard of this but it doesn’t seem related to immich

apologies if there's a better place for this/this is solved somewhere else but:
any solution for this? i set up immich a few days ago and noticed a ton of images having completely wrong dates. it's something to do with the ios app transfering files since if i upload the files to an smb share and check it on my laptop it's got the correct date in the exif data (listed under modified, nothing else) but through the immich app it gets uploaded with a different date. seemingly random dates, seemingly random photos have this issue

there's scattered discussion on this on github, some of which seems relevant

ah thanks, i was considering using an external library but wasn’t happy with any of the ios sync apps

Can you try uploading assets using the new beta sync? This uses the same mechanism as the share to upload, so hopefully the newer ones gets bucketed properly?

i do prefer the immich app upload over smb sync so i hope they can fix this.. at some point
