Sync Albums toggle mobile app

Probably a noob question, but what does "sync albums" toggle do exactly? (See attached)

I selected the folders I want to backup to my server and it is doing its job. But I don't know what "sync albums" mean exactly

Sync albums will create the albums on the server and add those pictures to it if you enable it.

What about previous assets, before the toggle, will it reorganize on the server? Or is a "from now on" function?

It will work going forward for new assets. If you would like to sync older ones you can enable it, then hit the settings icon in the top right. Bottom of page, hit the Sync Albums button

Hi. I am new here. I am have been reading some posts until now to check how to install immich. many of the posts helped me. now I am trying to understand how the "sync" of an android phone works with immich. I have set a a template to save all folders / photos I upload but when it comes to the phone backup I reaad that it should be possible to sync the albums in the phone and htat new albums should be synced on the server and I dont see any of that happenining. here is the template i defined for the albums: {{y}}/{{#if album}}{{album}}{{else}}Other/{{y}}{{MM}}{{/if}}/{{filename}} is that blocking the system from generating the folders from android? is there anythting else I should be looking at?... thanks!

Please don't use old threads. But if you are using the beta sync and timeline then it's not implemented yet.
