#Unable to connect to server on all my devices

I am really new to self hosting and I am really liking Immich so far, but last night I was trying to look at photos on my phone when I noticed it showed the server wasn't online. So I went to go check my server and everything looks good, everything is up to date on all my devices including my server but I still can't access it. I tried a reinstall on my phone and it said server is not reachable. I did notice my ip address on my server changed so i feel like that might be the problem and I do have pihole setup on a different server. I am not sure what could be the problem and if anyone can help me I will be happy to learn what steps I need to do so this can't happen again.

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:

  • Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
  • Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
  • Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
  • Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).

Your IP will need to remain constant on the server. Maybe add a dhcp reservation for it in your router

How can I add a dhcp reservation?

I'd suggest googling your router model number DHCP reservation

You can also add a static IP for it but then you need to know what's inside of the DHCP range and what's not. And what's in the right range.

A dhcp reservation is less likely to let you screw it up with limited knowledge

So do I just put the ip address on my server to the DHCP reservation?

Not sure what you mean. Each router also has a different interface so the how changes slightly by model. Generally it's bound by mac address though

Sorry I read the guide wrong, I have Spectrum internet and I went to the app and all I found was Ip reservations, is that the same thing?

Are you able to change the IP address of the PC to the old one here?

If so, then update it to the old IP address, and then reboot the pc

Not sure if you can. Depends on what the app allows. If not then you need to sign out of immich on devices and then sign back in

Just to confirm, unplug the spectrum box, turn off the PC, then turn on the spectrum box, wait 5 min, and turn the PC back on. Hopefully everything still works

Might be some setting in the phone's wifi then. I'm not an iPhone user so I can't help with specifics
