Please try starting over. Reset the DB_DATA folder. And change the password before first start

same prob where is folder located

rare flicker
#

Wherever you put it…?

#

Default is the Postgres folder of the current working directory

#

Just delete the Postgres folder if this is a new install with nothing important

pale hawk
#

I have 50 GB of photos but I don't care about any metadata or anything, as long as photos aren't deleted, assuming they're not stored under postgres path?

#

You said this was a brand new install , maybe provide (a lot) more details of what’s actually going on here / What you have setup

pale hawk
#

It is, I nuked the old one in docker

#

Only kept files

#

Deleted old yml and env files, containers, volumes

#

Okay looks like immich is up but doesn't see photos from old installation

#

Some, hopefully minor, errors

#

You have to re upload them

pale hawk
#

Is there a way of fixing the old db so I don't have to do that?

rare flicker
#

do you have database backups?

pale hawk
#

Nope, I setup immich as "set and forget" kind of thing, not touching it until something breaks

#

Only backup is from 10 minutes ago before deleting it lol

rare flicker
#

Then I’m not sure what there is to “fix” lol

#

Like if you don’t have any of the data

pale hawk
#

I mean that is the data

rare flicker
#

We have builtin database backups in the backups folder if you had them enabled

#

No, the upload_location is not the database

#

They’re two separate data sources

pale hawk
#

Made a backup of postgres folder before deleting it

rare flicker
#

Ok.. then restore the backup..?

#

I don’t really understand what you’re asking lol

flint abyssBOT

#

Hopefully you made the backup per our docs

pale hawk
#

Wouldn't that take us back to original problem of immich not starting?

rare flicker
#

You said the error was on a brand new install

#

Wouldn’t that be with a new database?

pale hawk
rare flicker
#

Ok, that is not a new install

pale hawk
#

Sorry about that

#

Any way to fix that?

rare flicker
#

What caused the errors to start?

#

It’s unusual that this would just randomly start happening

pale hawk
#

The website didn't work so I checked the logs

#

Logs said some stuff is deprecated and to change it

#

Changed that, which didn't work

rare flicker
#

Please go to the DB_DATA_LOCATION folder of the old install and check the Postgres logs. Should be in the logs folder

#

Uhh, changed it how

pale hawk
#

Sry missclick

#

Changed according to this guide

rare flicker
#

Ok. There’s a lot going on here and there’s no clear story to me of what happened
Try to post some more logs as I asked, and exact details of what you changed

#

I need to hop off for a bit. Maybe someone else can take a look later

#

You might have to just re upload tbh if you have no backups
