#Firefox video can't played because file is corrupt

So I have Immich setup and everything works excepts for Firefox web ui. I can view images but live images and videos will give me Video can't played because file is corrupt error.

I have looked over at history and noticed some posts where changes to Video Transcoding Settings would help, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

  • I did also run the transcode job and wait for it to finished.

The thing is Chrome/Edge/Safari works without any problems. Below/attached are some of my Transcode settings.

Any help is appreciated.

Hevc and Firefox do not mix from my experience. I had to use vp9 instead

So do I uncheck all the checkboxes in Accepted video codecs since it reads Select which video codecs do not need to be transcoded?

I also noticed that even if I uncheck HEVC, and saved, coming back to that page, that specific setting gets reseted back to check HEVC

Set the video codec drop-down to vp9

swift siren
#

oh thanks! I totally skipped over that

#

do I need to re-run transcode job?

dawn trellis
#

Change, test on a single file then you will need to run the all transcode job for it to work on everything

swift siren

How do i test on a single file?

dawn trellis
#

Click on a file that needs it. Top right menu. Refresh encode and then refresh the browser after a minute or so and check

you can also reset the transcoding settings to default, then re-transcode a sample video to test

swift siren
#

Is that the right menu?

dawn trellis
#

It is. Is that a video asset?

swift siren
#

ah, i see the problem, it's a live image, I selected a video asset and i see the encode video now

#

i'll test and report back

@dawn trellis @olive berry Thanks! It's working!
