#Reuploading Media to Immich After Botched Backup: Sync Queries and Avoiding Duplicates

I botched my backup, but I still have the directories upload and library . No, I'm planning to use the Immich CLI with the -r flag to re-upload my media library after a backup issue. However, I have a concern about syncing media from my phone afterwards.

If I connect my phone to the Immich instance, will it result in a lot of duplicates, considering Immich might re-upload everything from my phone? Or, does Immich have a mechanism to recognize and skip uploading media that's already present on the server?

I'd appreciate any insights or tips on managing this process efficiently without spending excessive time deleting duplicates.

Thanks in advance for your help!

the phone will attempt to upload the media but the server will reject it and it will be put in the "black list"

Sorry for the duplicate(haha) question. I made this post without reading @leaden jungles response in the other thread.
