I will be a dragon like in real life.

The chosen warrior is born with the delusion of being a dragon, stemming from several mutations which give them lizard-like qualities - They have a tail, scaley skin, peculiar eyes, sharp teeth/claws, and a long prehensile tongue. Luckily, they are not actually a lizard, so they are not cold blooded.

What is their class?

The chosen warrior has overcome significant barriers stemming from their ongoing delusions of grandeur to pursue a multidisciplinary educational path, spending several years practicing both archery and hydromancy - During this time they made two particular connections in their life.

  • Noctus Feywind, an owl-human guy who trained as a night (specializing in archery) under the Faerie Queen
  • Umbra, the priestess who watches over a sentient lake and who teaches locals the ways of its magicks.

But what is their ultimate goal in life?

Upon consideration, the Chosen Warrior imagines that the Skylands are simply in the sky, thus entering them needs only a means to sustainably move and remain in the direction known as 'up'. The Shadowlands are more elusive - They have only heard vague rumors of its existence, and none of the teachings passed onto them delved into the true nature of this realm.

The local library is a delightful piece of modern architecture; while the building is stately, it also provides a natural amount of obscurity to those struggling in life due to only being accessible by a pair of small access roads and some footpaths. The exterior of the building has the odd half-built bicycle and components of moveable tent-housing, cigarette butts, and beer cans. Inside is clean and lit naturally by large skylights which give its two floors a pleasant atmosphere. There is a single security guard playing sudoku at a table near the stairs, a checkout desk, and computers for self-serve use - The lower floor seems dedicated entirely to literature and resources aimed at children, while the majority of the catalogue is stored upstairs. A fellow with an unusual aura about him goes about his business at the main desk and patrons mill around the stacks and tables.

The Chosen Warrior spends some time trying to figure out flight - Sadly, the mutations did not include functioning wings (though there is some suspicion about the growths on their back), and they sometimes imagine they are capable of flight as part of their psychological condition. Eventually, the security guard gets up from their sudoku to come over and look at the minor commotion now happening outside.

Looking puzzled, but mostly disinterested, they say, "... You need a hand, bud?"

The guard quirks their brow in further confusion. "... You mean that guy from the Summer Court? He's an owl, I know that much. You're, uh... " There is vague gesticulation in the direction of the Chosen Warrior. "Some kinda lizard thing? Why are you jumping around out here?"
