Stuff you can do to change the world for the better, both locally on a small scale and globally on a large scale:
Educate yourself: I know it's a meme or whatever but genuinely educating yourself (and others) about what must be done and how it will be done is essential to have any aims and also bring people to your side. (There are also books and stuff about this very topic which explain it better than me).
Take part in local actions: Even something small like a march can go a way in getting voices out there, the government might not care but the bigger and more vocal an event is the more regular people will care for it and join in on the next one.
Take part in organising actions: Someone has to plan the march and you can and should partake in that if you are able to.
Join a party: Political Parties are the main and most effective way of actually making meaningful change. Not only are political parties the main forms of organising events, having structure and organisation behind a social movement is essential for its success.
Help the Community: Help community relief actions or community events with volunteer work and donations if you are able to, it goes a long way. Also if you can publicise these things so more people know about it and feel compelled to help.
Spread the word: Probably the smallest thing on the list here but spreading word to your cause in simple conversation and talk is going to be the main way of getting people in on things.
Don't lose hope: It's easy to feel demotivated when the world is grim and your goal seems far-fetched, but if you give in to these thoughts then they only become true. Many of the great changes in our world were done by people seemingly against the odds. And capitulating because your numbers don't seem good only benefits the people harming us.
