Hi @mortal helm. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base. :wave:

You can create a new “bot” (agent) with OpenAI in two main ways, depending on what you’re using:

1. In ChatGPT (Business / Enterprise workspaces)

If you’re in a Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspace with Agents enabled, you can create a new workspace agent:

  1. In ChatGPT, click Agents in the left sidebar.
  2. To start from a template:
    • Click Browse templates.
    • Pick a template that’s closest to your “AFK bot” idea.
    • Click Use template, choose tools, then Create Agent.
  3. To build from scratch:
    • Click Create.
    • Type what you want (for example: “An AFK bot that replies to messages while I’m away”).
    • Review the draft plan and click Build this agent.
    • Refine settings in the builder, then click Create.
      [Workspace agents]

Note: Personal accounts (Free, Go, Plus, Pro) cannot create new GPTs/agents; creation is only available in Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces when allowed by settings. [GPT availability; Free tier GPT creation]

2. Using the API (Agents SDK)

If you’re building a bot in code, you can define an agent with the Agents SDK:

from agents import Agent, Runner
import asyncio

afk_agent = Agent(
    name="AFK bot",
    instructions="You automatically reply to messages while the user is away.",
)

async def main():
    result = await Runner.run(afk_agent, "Someone sent you a message.")
    print(result.final_output)
#

if name == "main":
asyncio.run(main())

This creates a simple “AFK bot” agent and runs it once. [[Agents quickstart](<https://openai.github.io/openai-agents-python/quickstart/>); [Define agents](<https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/agents/define-agents>)]

---

If you tell me where you want this AFK bot to run (ChatGPT workspace, your own app, etc.), I can narrow the steps further.

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:

#

I’m tuned to answer questions specifically about OpenAI products and APIs.

Your last message says “Can you open this and give a review,” but there’s no link or file included, and the provided knowledge sources don’t mention any specific document or bot you want reviewed. The sources only cover:

  • OpenAI Agents SDK (code-first agents) [Agents SDK]
  • ChatGPT workspace agents (GUI-built agents in Business/Enterprise/Edu) [Workspace agents]

Because of that, I don’t have enough information to review anything concrete.

If what you want is:

  • A review of an Agents SDK agent (Python/TypeScript), please paste the agent definition or say it’s from an Agent Builder export so I can comment using the migration and SDK docs. [Migrate from Agent Builder; Agent definitions]
  • A review of a ChatGPT workspace agent (your “AFK bot”), please paste:
    • The agent’s instructions
    • Which tools/apps/channels you enabled in the builder
      Then I can give feedback grounded in the workspace-agents guidance (instructions, tools, channels, schedules, access). [Workspace agents; Add tools and channels]
#

Please resend the content (or a link/file) you want reviewed, and I’ll give a focused review within those OpenAI docs.

Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
