ChatGPT shared link: https://chat.openai.com/share/e93daed0-ed1e-4139-9eba-8f82d5290eb4

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have a conversation with ChatGPT
  2. Edit a few unrelated prompts
  3. Close the browser
  4. Come back later and re-open conversation

Expected result:

The cell starting with "Distinguishing the letter ", "(Continuation) Suppose the confidence", "Suppose we have a random sample", "Figure presents a probability histogram" should not have merged into one cell

Actual result:

Multiple of my prompts merged into one and ChatGPT's responses were gone.

Additional information

Browser: Firefox
OS: Windows 11

Thank you for reporting a bug related to ChatGPT.

If relevant and not already provided, we recommend adding a link to the associated ChatGPT conversation and uploading any relevant images here for easier troubleshooting.

Happening here as well. Windows 10, Firefox and Chrome latest versions. Been doing that for weeks now.

Any chance that you might have clicked "stop generating" at any time?

No. The response was completed before refreshing the page.
It seems to be responses that borderline its guidelines that have that issue. Almost like it spits out text, then deletes anything below where it could have gone near the edge of its guidelines. After that, your previous two prompts get mashed together. Seems the cyberpunk genre is good for testing that 😦

If there were violations to our policies, you'd get a moderation error that shows an error message. This wouldn't be an issue with a policy. Most likely it's an in-flight streaming error from one of our servers.

That makes sense. Wish it didn’t happen as often as it does. Thanks for giving me an idea of what it could be.
